from the pretenders link in the post talking about the new cd – the video tonight is from that new cd:
The Pretenders ninth studio album, Break Up The Concrete, will have a limited run of ecologically-friendly packaging with handmade seed paper starting on the album’s release date of October 7. This paper can be planted and, with care, may sprout in 1 to 4 weeks. The paper used on this plantable run, and the paper for subsequent non-plantable runs of the CD and vinyl configuration, has all been certified by the FSC, an independent, non-governmental, not for profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. The vinyl version of the album, to be released on September 23, is two 10″ discs with a gatefold, die-cut to shape and debossed with concrete texture with a full Album CD in Mini Jacket
The ecological packaging should come as no surprise to anyone who has followed the career of the Pretenders front woman Chrissie Hynde, who has always been on the forefront of ecological issues and humane treatment of animals.
Sure looks like both candidates are going to hang in PA, OH, & VA for the last week of the battle. I’m hoping that there will be a late surprise visit to Cleveland, perhaps with The Boss, like in ‘04.
Speaking of ugly did anyone see that twit Hasselbeck opening for Sarah Palin today. Between the two of their voices you could peel the paint off of a skyscraper.
Bachmann’s little pardon mess has amusing qualities. Noe redux. Pawnbroker, gem company, coins and jewels in the house, and three billion dollars missing. Sounds like a job for the Toledo Blade *g*
best way is to use a network hub(or your ISP modem may have more than one connection to it,so connect them both) and run the windows easy transfer program and just follow the on screen instructions. It is really easy BUT if you need advise you do have my cell number(:>))
I am *so* looking forward to Keef and/or Rachel (hopefully both) tomorrow night hitting that blond witch news person who was stooopid enough to take on Biden. :-)))) Dial-up so I can’t watch it on-line; gotta get my kicks vicariously through the big screen.
back in the dialup days, i would start the utube or video i wanted to watch, mute the sound, and let it silently run in a background tab while doing other stuff. i would see that it was over, unmute, and replay the video.
Wasn’t that bachmann article a hoot? Just hope there’s enough time left for that little fiasco to be the finishing touch so the bus runs her over and backs up multiple times.
she deserves to languish in obscurity–if not ridicule– for her obscene Bush embrace at the SOTU a few years ago plus her Anti-American slander recently
I saw a clip earlier today of when she was running for her congressional seat. She actually said, “all cultures are not equal, all values are not equal”, in response to riots they were having in France.
Hey Suzanne,
All I know is that during the Republican Convention, I saw Bristol and her boyfriend on stage. They clapped and smiled and held hands. She had a diamond solitaire that sparkled from the sitting audience.
someone told me that a Chinese language paper in one of the SE Asian countries.. probably Singapore, is running a weekly McCain campaign gaffs column, citing everything Palin, th “Araaab” incident, Ashley Todd, Joe McCain’s 911 flipout etc etc.
So here it is almost October 27… and no real October Surprise!!! I was promised an October Surprise!!! Do all y’all think there’s still one coming, or is this all she wrote? Or maybe it’s just some big meta pomo thing, like the October Surprise… is that there is no October Surprise…

given the current outlook, that wouldn’t be a game-changer. who knows if they’ll ever tie the knot. none of my business, anyway.
The $700 billion bailout should suffice. We expected a $500 billion deficit. No one could have anticipated that Shrub would more than double it in October with the fundamentals of the economy being as strong as he and McCain had indicated. Can you say Mafia Bust Out?
No one interested in the Syria thing? You know where we crossed into their country and killed at least nine people and injured 14 others working at a construction site.
I may not like the Palins but I sure do hope nothing bad happens to Track! If something does I would want to make sure it wasn’t due to Friendly fire!! Ramifications of that would be horrendous!
I am fortunate to live with a historian of medical history. We belong to a group dedicated to the history of medicine, founded in Paris. Hey! Write me at cedmonson@clevelandart.org
“Haven’t you heard? The United States is in a Global War On Terror.™ This war has no boundaries or battle lines. It is U.S. policy to attack whatever, wherever, whenever, however and whomever the preznit decides he wants to attack. No more Congressional declarations of war. The preznit has declared war on the world, and if you don’t like it, you obviously don’t Support The Troops.™”
well.. they tried with that girl in Pittsburgh (but apparently forgot to send Michelle Malkin the memo), and then there’s the war shrub just started with Syria…
Awful, I agree, but don’t see that a causing popular domestic outcry that would damage the Obama campaign. Actually there’s such an accumulated callous on the American public w/r/t killed civilians and boneheaded special operations that frankly I doubt folks will notice much. Now that’s sobering.
I think the collapse of the stock market was the October surprise, except that it didn’t quite follow the script they had prepared for it.
Even so, it worked pretty well. Congress was stampeded into giving Paulson 700 Billion Dollars to play with, and who do you think is going to get all that moolah? Home owners? HAHAHAHAHahahahahaha! You funny. Bankers are going to get all that moolah. And transparency? HAHAHAHAHahahahahaha! You funny. Early indications are that there will actually be little if any transparency.
So the oligarchy was having an anxiety attack because their Sugar Daddy is about to leave office? Poor baby! How about 700 Billion Dollars to ease the pain? Besides, the $700 B. giveaway will put a crimp in Obama’s plans and keep him from doing what he wants for long enough (2 years) for the Republicans to stage a comeback, just like they did during Clinton’s first term.
I think we’ve had the October surprise already. The old Shock Doctrine at work.
Have you been to the Museum of Man (not gonna trust my poor French to get the spelling right)? May go by some more PC name now but that was one of my favorite discoveries in the city.
“Deir Ezzor, in eastern Syria, is also near the site of a Sept. 6, 2007, Israeli air strike on what U.S. officials have claimed was a plutonium plant built with the assistance of North Korea.”
Possibly, they killed the workers trying to extract the plutonium from the site…
yeah.. and nobody in MSM has focused on the fact that we just attacked a sovreign country without any warning, statement to the Security Council, even a hint of a stab at diplomacy… not even any threats or ultimatums. That violates just about every rule of war since, oh, the Peace of Westphalia.
I missed a meeting in Anchorage tonight where a bunch of my friends argued the pros and cons of organizing a big anti-Palin rally when she comes back to Alaska on the 5th. Nobody decided. I would have been against it. We need to be more intelligent, more organized, and possibly a bit courteous during the aftermath week.
(Please forgive misspellings:) Go to Le Vieux Bistro across the sidestreet from Notre Dame. Order the boeuf bourguignon and salade croiton, with un boule de vin rouge ordinaire.
My hope is that the national media keeps on her case after 11/05/08. Our in-state MSM is not up to the challenge. There will be another big round of layoffs at the Anchorage Daily News in December. They’ve had three already this year.
There will be no state indictment of her, unless something is afoot nobody is aware of. She may have violated Federal law relating to handling of EEO documents on her personal Yahoo account – came out in the cell phone hacking incident – but I doubt they’ll pursue. Impeachment not likely. Recall is the best course.
the reality is that this bunch may be in such an advanced state of terminal breakdown and disarray that they may not be capable of planning an October surprise (fingers crossed), all they can do is jump on the bandwagon of whatever comes up… well, other than perhaps some sort of massive, decentralized voter-suppression conspiracy (which IS going on).
The food in France is so wonderful, even at little hole-in-the-wall places. They still grow produce that is not genetically modified, you can so tell the difference.
“Get over it!” has always worked well for the republics. :-((( Nicely pithy; given mcpalin’s tendency to co-op Obama’s slogans, why don’t we use that one?
Totally agree as far as the McPalin campaign goes, but Team W / Team Dick and their US and international allies seem to me way, way more serious and capable. Worth continuing to worry about all of them.
i know ca has citizen’s arrest rights but don’t know about other states nahant – and putting on my old uniform would not be kosher – and would kinda be in conflict with the arrest being a citizen’s arrest as opposed to one by law enforcement.
Karl reminds me of that creepy sadistic little German guy in the first Indiana Jones movie. The one who was branded by the burning hot amulet from the bar scene.
Sophie that would be too quick for me I would rather know he was rotting in a cell, he would have to be kept from the general population as I am sure the other inmates would just love to submit him to some Jail Justice!
gnight… leaving y’all with this http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7692153.stm
complete with footage of the home of the family we wiped out apparently… and details on the caretaker and his now dead and dying children.
I got to attend the last of five concerts in NC James Taylor did for Obama this past week and it was fab! Stood on-line 2 1/2 hours for the tix but worth every minute. :-)))
IIRC, the Israeli strike was at a site near the northern Turkish border, this latest was indicated in the vicinity of where Euphrates river crosses into Iraq. By my atlas about 200 +/- km apart. That would be some tunnel, indeed, to “excavate plutonium”. Wished I could legally smoke whatever the author of that nonsense does.
I’ve been pondering whether or not to write about that all evening. Nobody in Alaska seems to have noticed it yet. Or the Todd jealousy thingie at the silo.
One of the freeper blogs is trying to start a movement for Palin to address the nation right after Obama does, this Thursday.
Who do they thing she is, hello, she is the V.P. candidate. Don’t they think that her addressing the nation would be a slap in the face to their Presidential candidate?
To many, she is the future of their party. As ludicrous as that may be, the a**hole wing of the Republican party needs a lightning rod, and she may be it.
Besides, the more scratch they drop propping her up, the less they have to support Senate and House races. I say do it.
You know the cruise they have been talking about, when the neocons supposedly met and got to know Imelda?
One of very few examples in my life when I wouldn’t have wanted to be a fly on the wall for a high-level meeting.
Yuck.
I am not religious, so I can’t say that I pray for the destruction of the Republican party. They aren’t going anywhere – it’s more about what form they assume.
I’m for the civil war. It can’t get any worse than it is now, and there’s a slight chance that the conscienced Conservatives will sense their chance and force the whackos into their own little Jeebus Party™ consortium.
There’s a saying over at the big orange, “Leave it all on the road.” Teh google and wiki no help. Can make a guesstimate of meaning but can anyone help me out with a firm definition?
There aren’t a lot of ‘em, but they’ve been effective well beyond their numbers for years. We’ll see over the next six months how much of a watershed 2008 is, in terms of the power of the evangelical far right within the GOP.
Are you familiar with NanceGreggs who posts over at DU? I always love her stuff but the latest particularly strikes home.
Last ‘graph:
I will never forget – and I’ll gladly burn in hell for all eternity rather than hold out the hand of forgiveness to these fuckers for as long as I live.
I am not familiar with NanceGreggs, but I will check it out. That being said, I do no particularly want to burn in hell for eternity, but I do not anticipate holding out the hand of forgiveness either.
If Sarah Palin is the future of the Republican party it is over. She has tanked NcCain’s campaign. It was her youthfulness the campaign needed plus a new face. She will soon be old news. Will AK elect her to congress? No.
She is far to shallow for the neocon plan. She brings the fundies…a small group. I got a gut feeling watching her…beneath the bravaso was another bizzarro being.
Oh, goody…….I love making introductions. :-) Nance doesn’t mince words but you’ll find the rest of the piece much more restrained than the smidgen I quoted. To my ear, she writes realllllly well. Doesn’t seem to have any set posting schedule; there’ll be several back to back and then you don’t hear from her for days. Don’t know if that’s because she only speaks when something hits her hard or there are personal reasons or what. Anyway, one of the few bloggers I always read immediately.
I agree, she is really too ignorant. She is only capable of parroting speaking points, she is incapable of stringing together coherent thoughts on her own. A nonstarter for the bigger fight.
Hopefully there are just not enough of them to make a difference
After reading Altemeyer’s The Authoritarians (free pdf download), I’m not optimistic about their numbers. Seems they need improved authoritarian leaders.
In one hour the European markets open. Hong Kong down 14%. DOW premarket dowm 281 points. The recession is in the markets for 1-2 years. Not much positive news except last month housing sales were up (lot of foreclosure).
This will be a rough ride for investors and retirement funds.
The middle class pays for the wild speculation and the &7 trillion bailouts by central banks. We were conned by the neocons.
Yes. When the people who been ordering you to spend spend spend have your house and your retirement funds in the toilet. When the expensive righteous religious war runs on longer than any American war, 7 years, and your government services and medical serices cost more for less…what choice do you have but to rebel.
Maybe some of those authoritariab followers are latching on to Barack Obama. He better be able to produce or the country could get ugly.
John Dean introduced me to Altemeyer, who has spent years researching the authoritarian personality. He’s faculty at a Canadian university and has managed to create a remarkably readable book, which he kindly offers gratis.
It’s one of the most helpful things I’ve read in years. Even his foot notes
are engaging. YMMV.
Try reading the legal eagles explanation of the Commodities Modernization Act of 2000, it will make your blood boil. Basically, our Congress opened up the Casino that led to this disaster.
Some good advice think I will see if Wiki has a bit on it. Then McCain’s campaign assistant Gramm did somr further deregulaion of Oxley-Sarbanes…the law made to prevent another depression. Paulsen/Benanke/Greenspan are acting in absolute desparation.
Google the Commodities Modernization Act of 2000, read on and your head will spin and your blood pressure will climb. Basically, our Congress allowed these guys to bet, and I don’t mean metaphorically, I mean bet on the direction of anything, with no regulations at all.
Yes. I resd Dean’s book where he refers to Altemeyer. I got mine ( authoritarianism explained) in the 60’s from Jean Genet’s The Balcony a play on the institutions of western civilization. Judge, Police, General and Politician who all demand a loyalty bred of authoritarianism. It is interesting to watch revolutions recreate authoritarian classes…sadly.
I loved American individualism which is the opposite of what we have today, corporatism. I think the French hold their individualism and their language in high esteem.
He better be able to produce or the country could get ugly.
Ya’know, I used to worry about the production part of that (mcpalin already took care of the ugly part) but after seeing the way his campaign has been run, no worries, mate. May not be all progressives want, but he *will* get things done…..solution: hire competent people.
Yes, the conservatives are in total disarray, they are pointing fingers at each other and whining and bitching. Hopefully, it will take a long time, if ever, for them to reestablish themselves as they once were.
The underlying concern in the markets is they are not orderly and less predictable which creates a harrowing environment for risk, Investors have capital earning a little but nothing like what some have earned.
So how do you restart the business growth cycle in the US. We offshored both production and jobs. Our consumersa are tapped out by the housing bubble when it burst. On top of that a huge layer of rot many times the housing equity has gone south as bad bets are called that were leveraged as much as 100 to 1 the wrong way. A dollar invested is now worth a penny.
Capital has been reduced by 50% in a year or so.
Disposable income that has been the engine of the economy has dried up and with it a huge hole in our economy like the huge storms recently in the gulf have done unprecenebted damage.
Thr offshore flow of energy capital is sucking our capital out of the market place exacerbating the credit crunch along with continued demand for banks and hedge funds to cover their bad bets. That is where our bail out money is going. Bail Baby Bail it is going to take a while. Bushco can take the credit for this world trdgedy.
That si the environment Obama has to start in. If he doesn’t get 60 in the senate is will be in bigtime difficulty. Big Oil does not want an energy tax nor does Big Coal if we do not get the carbon tax investors will not risk the big investments needed to get the 5,000,000 green jobs. A book this year that addressess that is Earth:The Sequel by Environmental Defence Fund executive directors.
The trillion spent to bail Wall Street and the banks were spent to remove Obama’s administrations access to fund the health safety net, the renewable enegy industry and money for the state governments to repair their highways, water and wastewater deteriorating infrastructure. Wastewater alone is a Trillion dollars. The grid and shrinking water resources I have not seen numbers on but it is big as the drought goes on.
Once you understand that these people are sohpisticated theives out to plunder they start looking very smart. They cut in the Dems to open the treaury for the teir banks. Europe’s markets open down around 5%…earlier the Hong Kong markets lost 14% equity today alone
Since Bushco bailed out AIG insurance for $85 billion now the other insurance companies want a bailout. They are essentially socializing themselves. Corporate welfare can be defined as fascism. The oligarchy needs it all nothing left for the citizens. Barack is supposed to extend unemployment benefits and expand food stamps so people can survive. With the state and local government budgets gone south and federal reciepts waninghow much can he do? Take the rap for the Bush administration? the press will be happy to deliver that message to joe six pack.
Temper your optimism with caution. The economy is still pretty big after 5 decades of growth but the disenfranchised sector is growing more rapidly than the economy. The unemployed, the underemployed and those at the poverty level or below are around 50 million americans. People without medical care close to homelessness or slim resources. In the inner city is is already bad.
World recession will deflate travel, restuarant abd tourism. Tourism tax reciepts will diminish. That’s bad for those jobs and government services.
Here on the CA coast that is bad news for a lot of locals.
Next year retail chains will go out of business. Commercial real estate will have bigger vacancies.
Only major assholes would cause this. Accontability should be demanded as this was orchestrated. It wasn’t dumb luck. Greenspan admitted that to committee last week.
Nouriel Roubini, Professor of Economics at New York University, said that his prediction earlier this week that markets would have to be shut down is already coming true.
Futures trading was suspended on us market today, Russian market was closed as markets fall around the world.

Sadly, I’m sure that you are correct, like, man UGLY.
Bill Clinton and Obama in Orlando Florida on Wednesday. Obama’s solo appearance last week drew 60,000 people in a Republican county.
Speaking of ugly did anyone see that twit Hasselbeck opening for Sarah Palin today. Between the two of their voices you could peel the paint off of a skyscraper.
nahant, my friend, I’m afraid we have Double Dugg again.
Since I got the first Digg, folks should Digg on one of my links here or else use the Digg button at the top
But thanks for your loyal Diggsmanship!
I find it hard to believe that I’ve had to live with that paint-scraping voice for 18 years…
sounds like a soap opera
How could that happen…

Isn’t that crazy? Better than a soap opera.
that would be her.
you have my sympthies, ET. I would need aid of libations to suffer so long
I am struggling to finish up a couple of projects I’m doing on the old machine before making the switch
Also trying to figure out how to transfer my files–is a Flash drive the easiest way to do it?
considering that I’m technologically illiterate
Oh boy!
She screeched and screeched. I had to mute her, my animals were getting nervous.

Brain fag?
At his Denver rally today, Obama said, “When we lift all boats, the tide will rise!”
Um, well, I guess he’s not a sailor. *g*

she is as deep as a thimble of water.
Where was this event? Also asked for the second time to Palin: “Are you a feminist?”
Flash drive might be too small. How about an external hard dive? lots of gB for the dollar.
isn’t that the truth!

i’m no sailor either so

best way is to use a network hub(or your ISP modem may have more than one connection to it,so connect them both) and run the windows easy transfer program and just follow the on screen instructions. It is really easy BUT if you need advise you do have my cell number(:>))
I can’t recall where they were. Hasselbeck screeched about the fuss over Palin’s wardrobe, then Palin screeched about how her pink jacket was her own.
but first, “Are you a feminist?”
have you ever been a feminist? Well, I have.
(apologies to Jimi)
It was very deep indeed.

Dr. CE says yes.
Don’t know if this one has been commonly seen or not:
Geezer * Dingbat
I’ll give you a call tomorrow, nahant
I will need to take it one small step at a time
Nate now has Obama at 96.7% likely, and 75% likely even if he loses both OH and FL.
If McCain loses OH, he’s toast at 00.06%; that’s less than a tenth of a percent.
I’m in over my head here, makes sense if one has a network…
Sarah Failin had to backtrack on her feminist leanings to satisfy what is left of her base, the polygamist crowd.
:~)
Love that pic at your place, ET! 8-)
on Nov. 5 there will be a sunset for Palin to ride into.
Isn’t “feminist” like, a freaking red flag word for them?
Surprised they haven’t already burned her in effigy
But I guess they have short memories…always tuned in to the latest Talking Point
4 pot hubs are cheap!! But most DSL/cable modems have serveal extra ports on them so you should be able to connect them on “the network”.
let’s just hope she stays there….
Yep. dumpbachmann blog is on the case.
whatever. my files aren’t actually very large, my 1.9 GB Flash drive is way more than adequate to hold them all
but I’m talking about my documents–mostly Word and Excel–is it also possible to transfer programs?
I’m way out of my league here
I am *so* looking forward to Keef and/or Rachel (hopefully both) tomorrow night hitting that blond witch news person who was stooopid enough to take on Biden. :-)))) Dial-up so I can’t watch it on-line; gotta get my kicks vicariously through the big screen.
that is pretty forking kewl
she probably asked them to pray for her and exorcise the demon feminista.
The correct saying is that “a rising tide lifts all boats.” JFK used it, and the Kennedy’s know their water metaphors.

Hey, Sunny -
Wasn’t that bachmann article a hoot? Just hope there’s enough time left for that little fiasco to be the finishing touch so the bus runs her over and backs up multiple times.
so shall we assume that the pre-Nov. 4 Alaska shotgun wedding is off?
i heard it was ’spring’ – the bride is due in what, december?
Funny isn’t it? Perhaps there is no discernable baby bump.
You have that down pat Suz!!
I think November 5 is around the time the sun sets in Barrow Alaska for almost three months. Maybe we can get her office moved there.
she deserves to languish in obscurity–if not ridicule– for her obscene Bush embrace at the SOTU a few years ago plus her Anti-American slander recently

I bet you guess right.
No. Just No. You know that I visit Paris every two years. They LOVE the United States. They hate Bush.
october aint over yet
there was some scuttlebutt about “forcing” the wedding before the election for electoral advantage (the “awwww, how cute” sympathy vote); just another example of craven Repub politics.
given the current outlook, that wouldn’t be a game-changer. who knows if they’ll ever tie the knot. none of my business, anyway.
Well we did sort of invade Syria today, could be more to come……

I’m actually more concerned that young Track Palin, who is serving in Iraq, will be injured or killed within the next few days.
Yep, but I’m thinking more along the lines of “damaging to the Obama campaign” October Surprises. Of which, zero zip nada. So far.
oh crap
That would be awful.
I guess the “O fathered two black girls in wedlock” thing never really got off the ground…

I am fortunate to live with a historian of medical history. We belong to a group dedicated to the history of medicine, founded in Paris. Hey! Write me at cedmonson@clevelandart.org
A lot of takers, I think. But the Pentagon will brief tomorrow, and when that pack of lies is distributed, we can evaluate it.
Maybe fake his death, get him a new passport and send him down to Paraguay like they did for Ken Lay?
my comment from an earlier thread:
I would love to go to Paris again, I haven’t been since 1997. Sure I’ll write to you.
by design. I know where his unit is serving, but I’m not going to write about it anywhere.
and the lake has had two posts on the front page about it today. ian and siun
Bob in HI
I’m just concerned that this is part of a bigger problem/escalation of violence planned to ?
Really doubt that was centrally planned, see Emptywheel’s reportage on all that.
Have you been to the Museum of Man (not gonna trust my poor French to get the spelling right)? May go by some more PC name now but that was one of my favorite discoveries in the city.
I did see your earlier post, which tipped me to the incident.
Ashley Todd did not expect the Daily Inquisition.
I hope you’re right. It sure has the feel of something not grabbing its anticipated audience.
That ‘construction site’ happens to be…
Possibly, they killed the workers trying to extract the plutonium from the site…
yeah.. and nobody in MSM has focused on the fact that we just attacked a sovreign country without any warning, statement to the Security Council, even a hint of a stab at diplomacy… not even any threats or ultimatums. That violates just about every rule of war since, oh, the Peace of Westphalia.
Yes, I would put that in Suzanne’s “October ain’t over yet” category.
I was kidding
That IS the right thing to do ET. You wouldn’t want anything to do with Track getting hurt!
It is quite awesome in a horrible way.
So, what churches convene on Mondays? The ABC Monday Night Church of Football?
Just wondering,
Bob in HI
Especially not on a foulmouthed left leaning feminist blog such as this fuckin’ place.
these bastards might stop at nothing.
too be clear, I concur with your hors-politique sentiment about not wishing any harm on the kid.
exactly.
Please do! It has been such fun to have you here at FDL — again welcome!
P.S. Lived in Paris in 1979-89
Sorry. I failed to parse the implied snark tags.
LOL Dam straight we would spread the word as we would just LOVE to get one of THEM hurt….NOT!!
hey, I was there 1985 – 90!
my hope is that she comes home 11/5 to an indictment
Now you are just rubbing it in. I would love to live in Paris for a bit.
and thanks so much for making me feel so welcome.
gloat management wmay be an issue across the board.
the welcome (paddy) wagon
I was there for 6 days in 2005–wish it was a lot more
(Please forgive misspellings:) Go to Le Vieux Bistro across the sidestreet from Notre Dame. Order the boeuf bourguignon and salade croiton, with un boule de vin rouge ordinaire.
i bet there would be almost as many folks offering up their cuffs as there would be for the as yet to happen karl rove frog march
OMG, I’ve lost track of what day it is!! And I’m not even as old as DiFi.
Pretenders Back on the Chain Gang
Arlo Guthrie/Alice’s Restaurant
Simper DiFi
arlo reminds me that thanksgiving is coming – playing arlo is a family tradition around my house
The food in France is so wonderful, even at little hole-in-the-wall places. They still grow produce that is not genetically modified, you can so tell the difference.
Please please Suz I wanna see KKarl do the Frog March!!
Hey next time he is local
Suz you could put on your old uniform and perform a “Citizens Arrest” on KKarl!
I must go. ‘nite, all.
Worth continuing to worry about all of them.
g’nite neuro
i know ca has citizen’s arrest rights but don’t know about other states nahant – and putting on my old uniform would not be kosher – and would kinda be in conflict with the arrest being a citizen’s arrest as opposed to one by law enforcement.
Sweet dream neuro.
wasn’t that also a march by Sousa? Do Californians prefer that, or DiFi as “Washington Pest”?
darn I guess I am a bit too enthusiastic.. but I sure want Karl held accountable for all the misery he has caused.
night neuro will be waiting for your Technical CALL!
DiFi pretty much owes her political fortunes to twinkie-ingesting Dan White.
I know who Lebron James is, but don’t know Jay-Z
http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/ohjayz
Free concert this Wednesday in Cleveland.
we all do nahant – i have faith that it will happen – karma and a good AG working hand in hand with 60 plus seekers of truth in congress
Karl reminds me of that creepy sadistic little German guy in the first Indiana Jones movie. The one who was branded by the burning hot amulet from the bar scene.
jay z is a rapper who supports bo
oh sophie, that’s a good one.
I think he melts when they open the ark.
hehe
I am definitely going to use that one.
He does! Now wouldn’t that be just karma for Karl……
Polygamist Crowd…. you mean these people?
I be praying for JUSTICE Suz!!
Sophie that would be too quick for me I would rather know he was rotting in a cell, he would have to be kept from the general population as I am sure the other inmates would just love to submit him to some Jail Justice!
hahahaha – made me think of mary mcc
An orange jumpsuit would be just fine.
I’m thinking of a monstrously lucrative civil suit which follows the criminal trial as per Don Siegelman.
Oh my, that would be them. They look scary.
gnight… leaving y’all with this http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7692153.stm
complete with footage of the home of the family we wiped out apparently… and details on the caretaker and his now dead and dying children.
Nite pups time to try and get some sleep.
okay, but the melting thing would be pretty cool…
nite nahant
Good night blub, good night nahant, sweet dreams.
g’nite nahant – g’nite blub
I wouldn’t conflate chronic fertility with polygamy.
Don S might enjoy the house at Rosemary Beach. Nice spot.
nite Blub
some tough viewing
chum in the water:
I got to attend the last of five concerts in NC James Taylor did for Obama this past week and it was fab! Stood on-line 2 1/2 hours for the tix but worth every minute. :-)))
sigh
another sigh
IIRC, the Israeli strike was at a site near the northern Turkish border, this latest was indicated in the vicinity of where Euphrates river crosses into Iraq. By my atlas about 200 +/- km apart. That would be some tunnel, indeed, to “excavate plutonium”. Wished I could legally smoke whatever the author of that nonsense does.
Maybe you are looking at something different.
Matt Drudge is getting DESPERATE …
I’ve been pondering whether or not to write about that all evening. Nobody in Alaska seems to have noticed it yet. Or the Todd jealousy thingie at the silo.
One of the freeper blogs is trying to start a movement for Palin to address the nation right after Obama does, this Thursday.
that’s it for me, pups. i have a plate of french toast calling my name (and the kitchen is wanting some attention too)
g’nite and thanks for hanging out with me tonight
Sweet dreams Suzanne, and thank you for hanging out with us.
nite suz
Who do they thing she is, hello, she is the V.P. candidate. Don’t they think that her addressing the nation would be a slap in the face to their Presidential candidate?
g’nite S, are you sure it isn’t freedom toast that’s calling?
To many, she is the future of their party. As ludicrous as that may be, the a**hole wing of the Republican party needs a lightning rod, and she may be it.
Besides, the more scratch they drop propping her up, the less they have to support Senate and House races. I say do it.
Yes, you are probably right. I just do not get the thrilla from wasilla.
Ain’t no “may” about it. :-(((( We’re all gonna be in poor ET’s position of having to listen to/hear about the witch from now until forever.
Double :-(((((
You know the cruise they have been talking about, when the neocons supposedly met and got to know Imelda?
One of very few examples in my life when I wouldn’t have wanted to be a fly on the wall for a high-level meeting.
Yuck.
Sarabots are like Sarah – that’s all they think about – her future….
Me either.
Hopefully there are just not enough of them to make a difference.
There’s a saying over at the big orange, “Leave it all on the road.” Teh google and wiki no help. Can make a guesstimate of meaning but can anyone help me out with a firm definition?
I am not religious either, but I can hope for the decimation of the nastiness that they represent.
In sports parlance, “Leave it all out on the field” means don’t spare any effort to win. FWIW

Nance speaks for me: http://journals.democraticunde…..Greggs/455
We can only hope with a big Obama win, their power will be diminished significantly.
Thanks, newt…….if it’s a sports-related saying, I’ll miss it every time. *g*
I am not familiar with NanceGreggs, but I will check it out. That being said, I do no particularly want to burn in hell for eternity, but I do not anticipate holding out the hand of forgiveness either.
i’m going to bed. nice to spend the evening with you all
8 days. i cannot wait to wake up on the 5th
nite pups
Sweet dreams newtonusr, I’m with you the 5th will be a glorious day!
I love interesting, articulate people so thanks for the heads up.
Hopefully there are just not enough of them to make a difference
After reading Altemeyer’s The Authoritarians (free pdf download), I’m not optimistic about their numbers. Seems they need improved authoritarian leaders.
I’ll have to read it. I think Americans, as a whole, are sick of authoritarian leaders right about now. Look where they have led us.
You have that right. I was reading up earlier on the Commodities Modernization Act of 2000 that was the starting gun for this fiasco.
Sat & Sun Event Numbers -
In the last 2 days :
McCain has spoke to 12,500 people in 4 cities and towns.
Obama has spoke to 224,000 people in 5 cities.
Basically, our Congress opened up the Casino that led to this disaster.
oops. That was meant for sophiehunter.
Thanks so much I will read it tomorrow.
A book this year that addressess that is Earth:The Sequel by Environmental Defence Fund executive directors.
hey!
The only two things at which they truly excel are screwing up big time and refusing to take the blame for it.
Dog! Don’t the gunpowder from republic circular firing squads smell good on the mornin’ breeze? *G*
