I’m catching up, someone may have mentioned this. There was a report earlier this month in the Strib, I think, that the research saying adult stem cells could be used instead of embryonic stem cells was discredited. It was research done at U of M, IIRC.

I lost track of this amid the frazzle of real life. Anybody pick up on this?

Makes a diff whether a candidate says they support “stem cell research” or “embryonic stem cell research.”

When I lived in Rome, it seemed to me that the Utica OD was in definite running as one of the worst newspapers in the country.

Yes, it does have a smell on it, doesn’t it? I’m ticked off with Arcuri, big time, over his FISA vote – he sent me the smarmiest email back basically saying “I know you don’t agree with me but …tough.”

Arcuri and his cousin bought two bldgs that lease space to NYS. One is a police barracks, the other used for the DMV. Like I said, it was a hit job, so I would need more info before I would be able to understand if it was ‘fishy’. The article said they bought one bldg for about 150,000 and the lease will bring in about $700,000. But it didn’t mention what they lease includes (heat etc.) so I don’t know what the profit margin is. Both were purchased while he was DA. I don’t like the sound of it. I HATE when reps use their position for personal wealth. I’m reserving judgement for the moment, but if he gets challenged in a primary…well I may support that opponent.
