This was a cold, calculating attempt to smear Obama and the black community, and any collateral damage be damned (Just think what might have happened if she’d gotten away with it for even 24 hours). The Sergeant Schultz defense just makes it smell even more like a Rovian special, inept as it was. She tried to maximize the effect while doing only superficial physical damage to herself. She’s where she should be, she’ll get a psych evaluation, and I bet she won’t be half so “troubled” as some are too willing to believe. She’s a zealot, but I don’t know how that makes her too mentally unstable to take her punishment.
