My ex is Bush in drag. She is also from Tennessee. It is very instructive to see that Ashley is wearing a Tennessee sweat shirt because most of the “people” from there that I know fit her personality profile. (I do make an exception for the guy married to an ex-sister-in-law who refuses to work for an employer who is not green.)

Todd was upset with the media? Pittsburgh police were upset with her, because she drew precious taxpayer-paid resources away from a REAL and important police investigation. I think they were suspicious from the start, not only because of the backwards B but also because the scratch was on HER right side. Most people are right handed, so the scratch should have been on her left side. The only black eyes here are on Ms. Todd, who I hope gets help for her mental affliction, the Pa. GOP campaign communications director, who avidly shopped the story around to various media before police had finished their investigation and the media who published the story in advance of its sad conclusion. I am sad that African-American men were once again singled out falsely here.

I hope that in the course of all the empathic out-pouring for Ms. Todd, you will spare a few thoughts for all the black boys and men who narrowly escaped being beaten, or maimed, or killed by the people whom Ms. Todd sought to arouse. I have been sick with fear since first hearing about this: I never believed it for a second, it had all the hallmarks of the standard “black man assaults/whistles at/looks funny at a white woman, let’s get the bastard.” Thankfully, it didn’t get to be a tragedy, but who knows how close it came to becoming one? I never thought I would ever have this thought, but thank the whoever that the police didn’t fall for it.
