The Salvation Army (for nonfood) has always been the only organized place here to donate.</p> <p>A big, shiny new Goodwill is almost finished. When I asked a local SA board member what they are doing in anticipation of a dropoff in donations, she blithely said “don’t know, but you do realize we bundle and sell most of the clothes to be shipped overseas?” I almost fell off of my chair.</p> <p>I really am such a naif sometimes.
