february further down the coast around yachatz was often the sunniest winter month when i lived in eugene. it was sep, oct, feb for the sunniest months of the year at the coast.

my very favorite place on the coast is cascade head just north of lincoln city. it requires some hiking to get to the most beautiful views.

Some things are just meant to be? A case of the goosebumps when I read that…

I haven’t officially changed my address. I’m going to register in the new district AFTER Nov 4th, so they can’t fiddle with what i’ve got. I’ll remain registered where i am now to be safe, especially since Michigan registration ended on October 6th, and i wasn’t finalized on the decision to go until a week after that.

Once the Nationals are done, i’ll get my butt back to the SOS so i can reregister in the new district. I’ll be double checking when i do that changeover to forward my mail and the current address on my driver’s license. Can’t be too careful but i’m pretty sure i’ll be allowed to vote in my old district since the moving/change dates are so close.

Had to go have a look at your pictures. Ugh..that is not good for your back and shoulders. You need to rig up some kind of leverage system to do the hauling for you. A soft rope, or old sheets,(cheap at thrift store) could be used. Just loop over your balconey and pull up…then no damage to you or the balcony.

actually, i find it a good way – i toss each piece up the back stairs onto the terrace from below the deck and then when i have as much as i need at the terrace, i then toss them onto my deck, again, one at a time. i can stand on a lower step to pick them up and i’m only going up and down the stairs one time. my knee and back both seem happier with this way.

I hope you have a good aim…lots of windows at your home!

so far so good – the north facing side is where the house is protected some by the terrace and there are less windows on that side. i can look out the living room windows to that side and see grass and rose bushes.

very rare to have snow on the oregon coast. rain, not so much. in 18 years of living in eugene, or and going to the coast often, i never saw snow at the coast. once, there was a severe ice storm and the sand had a coating of ice on it. that was very interesting to walk on.

don’t forget to occasionally hit that brain bleach button et – and pace yourself – this story is not going away after the general.

Helley-Hansen has a three way system for high altitude or cold water. I have had the LIFA polypropylene for 15 year top and long underwear which is warm in cold water. Check it out skiers mountain climbers and seriously cold people wear it. Off shore drilling rigs in the North sea. You will not chill and just take off a couple of layers.
