Re the AP poll, look at the internals they are a mess.
First of all the actual poll results of those surveyed shows a 10 point Obama lead.
Then they factor in their formulas for Likely Voters which are shite.
44% of their LV’s were “evangelicals”, twice the actual turnout in the last election.
36% of their LV’s were from the South, which is high by quite some margin.
It’s a shite poll, badly done.

Fast forward. This year. First day early voting was double the first day in 2004. After 2 days,it’s almost 10,000 Dem; little over 3,000 R and 2,500 “other”. So. So far the ratio of Dems to other is higher than in 2004 so not that many worries about the “others” breaking too high the other side. The ratio of Dems to R is waaaaaay higher and the early turnout is way higher.
Doesn’t insure anything, but there’s no sense ignoring good news.

Also, we’re having a battle with the Obama campaign (the HQ’s are next door to each other) because the Obama campaign has sucked up virtually all of the volunteers and now refuses to drop off our literature when canvassing door to door. I hope that can get worked out because I really think we can deliver a huge surprise in the Congressional campaign with just a little help from the Obama campaign that would cost them almost nothing extra in terms of effort.
