Okay, now that makes me jealous! ;-)
McCain’s campaign is sure looking like a Roman circus. Can’t wait for the final act when they bring out the lions.
AEI economist on cspan seems to believe in regulation. Think I have to upright my chair which I just fell off of.
and the headline from the IndyStar?
Obama rally to put pinch on Downtown traffic
have I mentioned lately how much I hate that fucking fishwrap?
LOL Well, you’re gonna have a blast anyways! Give a ‘w00t’ for Barack from all of us please!
Mornin’ Blue Texan and Firedogs,
jayt a dfh in your position could do some casual bartering for minor legal services with the Event Security staff and get himself a place up front nudge, nudge, wink, wink
Mornin’, all.
So many reichwing Christians, so few lions.
hmmmm……
(he wonders with a British accent)
‘zup! was just asking about you downstairs. good to see you
Oh, are the reichwing think tanks now all gonna be pro-regulation and have to throw those thousands of white papers screaming for deregulation away?
I must have missed that part.
I haven’t heard anyone else mention this, but did you hear her bracelets banging against each other during the interview and John getting distracted by it? Not a great thing after the 150,000 shopping spree news yesterday. They were sooo tony, she probably couldn’t resist
Well, that might be better than the alternative, which would be to stand in the way and shout “MARKETS, MARKETS.”
Remember hypocrisy is not unique to religion & democracy, it’s just heavily concentrated there.
Yes I did, but thank you for bringing it up to a conscious level.
More lions than they counted on
NRCC pulling out of Musgrave campaign – jeebus, am gonna need some serious tranquilizers for Election Night…wont be enough walls to bounce off of :D

Seems one community organizer’s got a little egg on his face this morning. My friend Mike seems to have gotten his wires crossed and combined a coalition event Sat morning, which everybody already knew about, with something else. So there I am, all by my lonesome, down at the rallying point. He used his PDA email list and I should have known better. Very few of those folks are gonna come out and challenge the man.
No way those med records will be released. No way.
And, I’m with Ed Rendall…get thee back to PA.
selfishly relieved you are not in jail.
I saw where they’re not putting any more money into Bachmann’s race either.
Had not seen that story on the bishop of Paterson NJ, BT — thanks for that.
Here’s the whole column by the bishop. IANAL, but in my humble and professional opinion, he didn’t just walk up to the line between discussing important issues and making an endorsement, but jumped up and down on that line before going over it.
Agree. There’s that delicate matter of the fifth pregnancy.
if…means…not in this lifetime…
My 401(k) has the S&P 500 right where it wants it.
Re Palin’s medical records: I’m thinking they’re trying to hide that thing where they replace your heart with a thumping gizzard then ram a six-inch needle up the back of your skull and suck three-quarters of your brain out to turn you into a Republican.
Because I want John to be hoppin’ mad, I just started a batch of Hoppin’ John in the crock pot. Good eats tonight!
Ah well, we’ll have a better chance Sat morning. St Pete PD will be waiting for us since we learned long ago to let the world know when we’re going to be doing something. St Pete and Tampa learned years ago that St Pete For Peace is not gonna be involved in any kind of violence or destructive behaviour and we’re respected by both PD’s. The cops on the beat didn’t like the barricades and were hesitant to arrest any of us when we when did civil disobedience. I don’t see this as any different. The city of St Pete will not be happy when they’re forced to defend themselves in federal court over a First Amendment issue.
per Kos, they’ve already cut ‘n run from these campaigns:

How can Rudy G. dare to open his mouth about anything? If anyone should be in jail..preferably at the Hague…it is Rudy.
The world heard you on video tape you dirty ….You said you were told that building 7 was coming down and you did not tell the fireman etc. and they died because of you. What is with these Republicans? Was it Rove that said they would decide what reality was?
So she did it on purpose? Ha!
Rwe: the Cathoilc Thing.
My pastor put an “open letter” in our bulletin about the elction. here we go again. I almsot fainted. It said being anti-abortion doesn’t make you “pro-lfe” and cited Church pronouncements on things like death penalty and war and poverty. For the first time prior to an election i was at a church where a priest taught taht being “pro-life” was a “womb to tomb” thing. Yes, the Church is anti-abortion and anti-stem cell research. But this guy’s whole point was that Catholics should– no must– look at more than one thing. It was great to see that. Finally. Hope it got through because usually democratid candidates-especially Cathoilc ones-get pounded from the pulpit.
Oh, Clemons just had a great line on cspan: Experience can be baggage as well.
John McShame said he was tested because he was in a jet on the carier enterprise circling Cuba during the missle crisis. I was wondering what decisions he had to make, which pant leg to put on first?
Maybe they should ghave sent Joe at least. But early voting startwed in FL and they can’t win withiout a big early turnout. Having the big guns here was smart. Now? Get back to PA. You’re right.
This is why McCrazy is not fit to be the president. Jangling noises could make him start a war against a sovereign country because the jangling noise reminds him of his captors back in Vietnam!
I’m telling you….it would be a scary 4 years having him in office.
Okay, going to work. Have a great day everyone! Jayt, enjoy yourself today if you do go to the Obama event across the street! ;-)
glad to hear the locals know ya. was concerned about their adrenaline – nothing gives ‘em wood like some headbashing
Wo0t: Obama wins the Big 10!
[By a lot.]
I was on the cruiser USS NORTHAMPTON (CC 1) just prior to the crisis itself. We were at Gitmo and spent our time in the Enlisted Men’s Club gettin’ hammered or riding horses around the gazillion acres the base encompasses.
Is the rally gonna be at the American Legion mall?
I’ve been to your fair city a few times for the Black Expo, and have attended a few concerts there.
Had a ball each time.
Obama leading in Flohpa.
Don’t you mean FLORIDA?
I heard that. Then followed the “Oh, I’ve been tested. They all know I’ve been tested”, smirking assertion. Under his guidelines, about a million service people were tested for the Presidency during the Cuban Missle Crises. I was in college at the time, waiting to be obliterated. Hell, I guess I was tested.
Could mean Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania
Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania
Crises = crisis
If you think about it, the above video capture tells you all you need to know about Palin’s readiness to be VP.
She can’t be trusted to do an interview alone, how could she be trusted to run the country?
I mean it’s really that simple.
There are a couple like that who have appeared at our events. We had one who shoved one of us who was leaning on a PD golf cart. We lodged a complaint and he was never again at an SPFP event. That’s overtime for them and when they were at BayWalk whenever we were they stood around and watched the pretty young women coming and going from BayWalk and chatting with folks. And they protected us from the nasty drunks, much to the drunks’ surprise. More drunks arrested for assault at BayWalk than protesters, ever. The department decided a year or so ago that we didn’t warrant the police anymore.
Such a serious group we all are these days. Have some fun and check out this website. Enter your surname and find out where it originated from and where the most people with your surname live now.

Scarborough got nasty with Richard Holbrook this morning. Holbrook called him a “political animal” while telling why Republicans want to beat Joe Biden’s statement about testing to death. Scarborough said, “You don’t call me a political animal and I won’t call you one and maybe we’ll like each other better.”
I wish Holbrook had said, “Not much chance of that, so I’ll just go ahead and call you a political animal.”
OMG, woman on WJ wants to refight VN. Of course, she’s a McCain supporter.
That’s pretty cool and amazingly accurate. My family came from France in the 1750’s and settled in North and South Carolina. May shows highest concentration right where my family lived for all those years, me being the first born outside of SC. A smaller concentration in the Tampa area. That must be me and my half-brother.
Are you a Huguenot descendant?
ooh – CNN is gonna talk to the *black* McCains shortly…..
She can have my old ripstop cammies and I’ll send her a copy of the mapbook for the Delta. Then she can have at it. She’s gonna hafta get her own weapons and radio, though.
No. The Duc was involved in a power struggle with the king and so he and his brother left and came to the states, one settling in SC and one in NC.
I have a name that by no means appears to be Irish. It was rumored that we had Irish family ….and the website shows Ireland as one of the main sources of that name.
I often was told I must be Irish because of the red head and somewhat active temper. I always said no…I lied!
Peggy Noonan is gonna be the death of me. Really.
Now she’s blathering on about whether 18 yr. olds are as qualified to vote as experienced, thoughtful 70 year olds.
Never mind her party has found them more than qualified to die in Iraq.
Her next slice of bullshit pie was ‘concern’ about early and absentee voting; “I hope we don’t start to miss out on the experience of standing together on the polling line on election day…blah, blah… it is moving…it’s like a WW II movie…”
I wonder if all this faux concern would exist if McCrazy was up 20% in the early voting instead of Obama.
The cherry on the sundae for me however, is the self satisfaction on her face after one of these ‘rhetorical flourishes’.
Never seen someone so impressed with one’s self. And for nothing.
Which just happened to be the winning argument in allowing 18 year olds to vote, except it was Viet Nam.
Yes, leaving France in 1750 would have been too late for the Huguenots, who left a lot earlier. I asked anyhow, though, because a lot of Huguenots settled in SC, via Great Britain. And I’m on the Board of Historic Huguenot Street, and own a Huguenot house.
http://www.huguenotstreet.org/
Nah, I’m just umpteen generations away from the French throne.
I’m old enough to remember that discussion.
Probably where my comment came from.
I was given to understand that the French side of my family was of Huguenot origin (Ganung).
yay, colorado right to life cspan winger segment
Me too – drafted in 66 but couldn’t vote until 67
Hmmm. “Ganug” sounds more German than French. And I don’t recognize the name from my work so far with HHS. But a lot of Huguenots were in northern France, bordering Belgium (the ones that came to New Paltz came from that region via Pfalz in Germany, thus New Paltz) and possibly other areas near Germany, Switzerland, so mingling of names. My knowledge is pretty narrowly focused on the NP Huguenots.
Oops. “Ganung”
Ganung, not Ganug. As in Guenon/GENUNG/GANONG/GANUNG/GANOUNG.
See:
The GENUNG/GANONG/GANUNG/GANOUNG Home Page
Palin’s syntax gives me a headache.
I got 4 campaign cards yesterday and just now looked at them. All of them are anti-Obama from the FL Rethug Party. Not one says anything about McSFB, just bashing Obama. Losers.
Thanks for the link. I forwarded it to out director & Board prez. Is it an active family association? We’re looking to revivify our families that kind of fell by the wayside during the organization’s tough period between 94 & 04. So anything you like or dislike, that would be hints for us, would be appreciated.
Dunno, eCAHN. I found that page by googling. Jean Guenon is purportedly the head of that branch of our family line, but I know nothing about the organization. Genealogy is not something I’ve been heavily involved with.
Well, thanks anyway. Always looking for new ideas!
The whole medical record thing is just weird. At a basic level, I understand the feeling of your privacy being invaded, but this should not be a surprise when you signed up for it. 5 kids, never sick or hurt, so nothing hide right? Personally, it would be reassuring for me to hone in on the records for the L&D of her 5th child born last April.
Off to swim in the great capitalist cesspool.
Be good to yourselves, and all other living things.
Namaste
Check out the Kos report. Shows how smart most older folks really are (Im being careful for that statement not to be mistaken for an endorsement.) The polls are fascinating.
