  • Wow, the clothes for Caribou Barbie are really expensive.
  • And the rank-and-files are pissed.
  • So apparently is the Maverick’s makeup.
  • Socialist! Palin put kids on state tab.
  • OMG the race is tightening…uh, not so much.
  • Cool graphics with the WSJ/NBC poll here.
  • The ‘o8 campaign continues to unmask the GOP.
  • Wingnuts is so stupid.
  • George Mitchell smacks Rove around.
  • Rolling Stone: how we lost Afghanistan.

Apparently the Governor’s snowmobile suit and hunting camo didn’t make the trip to the lower 48, so she needed to do a little shopping.

yo.

mornin’ BT, Raven, everybody. Loved the “citizen’s arrest”. But the lady was much too polite and timid. Gotta get some of those people who tried to lie down in front of Palin’s motorcade. Loved Kerry’s joke (has that been around? never heard it before. I figure if Kerry’s telling it, it must be old). Loved Mitchell’s response to Rove. Funny stuff.

Mornin’, BT, Firepups

As I stated last night there will be some civil disobedience before the first game of the World Serious. It was kinda iffy as to what we were gonna do but now the plan has been firmed up. Tonight one person has volunteered to pass out leaflets for the express purpose of being arrested by the St Pete PD with the rest of the folks acting as witnesses, cameras and all. At least that’s the plan. I have a feeling more than 1 person will be participating. The big protest will come Saturday morning in conjunction with the Uhurus. The “clean zone” rule will still be in effect so we’ll all be in violation Saturday. If you’re in the Tampa/St Pete area we’d love y’all to join us.

Force is the weapon of the week.

‘It was a small news item tucked in the Adirondack Daily Enterprise over the weekend. “Powerful generals and admirals from some of the most powerful nations on Earth are reportedly meeting somewhere in the local area this weekend after flying into the Adirondack Regional Airport in Lake Clear on Friday,” Peter Crowley wrote on Saturday.’

Sarah will be interviewed at 8:15 a.m. CT [9:15 ET] this morning on Fargo rightwing talk radio by Scott Hennen. Name ring a bell?

Yeah, he’s the guy who chortled with Chee-knee about waterboarding. Who knows what he can elicit from La Diva Sarah.

I’ll be missin’ it, but maybe somebody should listen in just to hear what’s goin’ under the radar…. If your stomach’s stronger than mine, you can try linking here for live audio.
Or here, the station website. Kinda makes you wonder who’s bankrollin’ this guy.

‘In a little noticed move, federal officials this month have declared a series of public health emergencies relating to potential weapons of biological terror.

On Oct. 1, Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt declared an anthrax public health emergency. On Oct. 10, he declared health emergencies for smallpox, radiation sickness from the detonation of a nuclear device and poisoning from botulinum toxins, the active ingredient of Botox.’

This is part of the email I got from Mike Fox, an amazing guy who’s learned how to organize during his time with Samm Simpson’s 2 campaigns. He’s also another of those long-haired DFH’s.

Wednesday and Saturday, peace and freedom loving Americans will gather to speak out against the City of St. Petersburg’s attempts to sterilize the city by using heavy-handed, oppressive laws and repressive actions, not unlike the totalitarian Chinese regime that “cleaned up” it’s image before and during the Olympics by hiding their poor and homeless, and stifling any public dissent.

Three issues in particular will be the focus of the actions:

An “emergency” ordinance prohibiting free speech activities throughout an 84-square-block “clean zone” surrounding Tropicana Field has gone into effect for the duration of the World Series. Obviously, this is a ploy by the city to make sure St. Pete looks as utopian as possible during the Series. If we don’t have the right to free speech in the presence of large gatherings of people and TV cameras, then we don’t really have freedom of speech at all!

Earlier this month another anti-free speech ordinance went into effect in St. Pete prohibiting anyone from holding a placard or passing out flyers in the median. It also targets people who can’t find work in this economy and are forced to panhandle.

Lastly, this will be a call for justice and reparations to the families of unarmed African teenagers killed by law enforcement in St. Petersburg – most recently, Javon Dawson, and 12 years ago this week, TyRon Lewis.

What: Civil Disobedience Wed. A single volunteer is willing to challenge the no free speech zone around Tropicana Field by peacefully passing out literature. If St. Pete police do their job, this person will be arrested. The ACLU is willing to stand with the person arrested. We need witnesses. Gather at 18th Ave S and 16th St. S at 5pm to plan for the peaceful action. Bring a video camera if you have one.

It’s not smart to fuck with DFH’s.

OK, really don’t care so much about the clothing issue; only it gives me a chance to renew my tired joke (that Mrs. pastfedup is tired of hearing) -

“Now we know how she could afford to purchase all those Achilles heels, that she refused to talk about in the debate.”

Seriously, I wouldn’t want to be the recipient of any of her clothing when she gives it to ‘charity.’ It would be like putting on something that was worn by a snail; slimy. (my apologies to snails).

I feel a lot better re:the Palin wardrobe story.

Courtney Hazlett, the entertainment reporter, just explained it all to me on MSNBC.

First of all, she said “I can wrap my brain around this.”

(insert your own joke here)

Then she goes on to say that ABC’s wardrobe guidelines allow $4200 per prime time show for female characters, so “do the math”, it’s the equivalent of 29 prime time shows.

See, no problem!

I would’ve loved to read her dispatches from ancient Rome while standing next to Nero.

“as the flames spread throughout the city creating a golden glow over the Senate Nero was resplendent in his gold brocade linen toga. Rome hasn’t seen such a sense of style in a generation.”

On Palin’s wardrobe…
Is McCain taking public financing? Does that mean I helped pay for those clothes?

Here is Palin the Pain happily smiling while visiting with the awful human Judge Robert Bork. They spent all that money after they made her promise not to wear this!

I guess FOX is going to be telling us about Michelle and Jill. Don’t think their clothes were paid for by the campaign. Hope not.

This ”Liberals hate America” meme has been going on for so long that it’s has become a bore. Republicans fail to realize that it no longer resonates with people. When the election is over, the Republican party is going to need to start all over again. They don’t know how to campaign unless they go negative. Right now, that won’t fly. Americans are more concerned about their futures than about who they should be hating.
