As Waldman points out, Newsweek's head wanker Jon Meacham is already warning Obama and the Democratic Party not to be so foolish as to think that a resounding electoral victory means that American is not a conservative country. As if it's not totally obvious that Republicans getting their asses kicked in two consecutive elections proves that Americans love conservative policies.
Anyway, it got me to wondering what simplistic conclusion the media will draw from this year's election. Every election year, the media boils down the outcome into one or two very basic narratives to "explain" what happened.
2000: Fibber McEarthtones vs. Drinkin' Buddy. Underlying Message: Democrats effete and insincere, Republicans authentic and manly.
2002: Iraq! 9/11! TERROR!!! Underlying Message: Democrats soft on terror and Republicans.
2004: Values Voters, Swift Boat Veterans. Underlying Message: Drudge and the religious right rule our world.
2006: The genius of Rahm Emanuel. Underlying Message: Centrism is Teh Hawt! Pay no attention to those antiwar progressives behind the curtain!
2008:...?
Some possibilities, in no particular order:
1) Obama got lucky because the economy started collapsing two months before the election (Small Picture).
2) Conservatives reaped the richly deserved rewards of an eight-year-long Epic Fail which discredited practically every single one of their core beliefs (Big Picture).
3) Rahm is still a genius! Centrism is still Teh Hawt!
4) Obama was a remarkably charismatic candidate who ran a brilliant campaign.
5) McCain was a remarkably disagreeable candidate who ran a godawful campaign.
6) Holy jumping fuck, that Sarah Palin is scary.
7) McCain's ugly smears-and-hate strategy backfired spectacularly, and destroyed the "Maverick" brand which was his greatest asset.
A few days ago, Howard Wolfson wrote that this election marks the end of Nixonland, that after 40+ years, its mean-spirited politics and policies have finally been rejected by the American people (not to mention reality). I hope he's right - and if it's not the end, then at least let it be the beginning of the end.
But if the Nixonian political edifice is finally crumbling, will Villagers like Meacham admit it? Will Republican political consultants start shying away from character assassination and fearmongering? Will Democratic political consultants emerge from their defensive crouch and start encouraging their candidates to be full-throated progressives?
Well, no. At least not yet. But I can still dream.

((( Eli )))
Negative campaigning no longer works !
Hee Hee, Palin is scary….
Aloha, Petro!
Aloha, CTut! Hiya, Petro!
Digg it!
http://digg.com/political_opin.....8_Election
Voter fraud by communist Democrats…and America is being mean to newly elected VP Sarah. Boo fucking hoo.
Hey CT … how’s life in Paradise ?
I posted a link earlier to a republican being arrest for voter registrations.
this country and her constituents are CLEARLY liberal, they are clearly progressive, this country’s very principles are liberal, the declaration of independance is a LIBERAL document, the constitution is CLEARLY a liberal docuemt, the bill of rights, a liberal document
equal protection under the law is a liberal concept, privacy, government out of our lives, everything we stand for is progressive and liberal.
so these fools who think otherwise know not what foolishness they posess
Eli, #6 made me spew a bit o’ wine through the nostrils …
Waving to Suz… I know you are out there(:>))
That’s my vote. Maybe it’s because I get my news from Keith, Rachel, Jon, Stephen and the internet.
Sadly, I think this is the least likely to happen…
Neither is likely… ‘I don’t belong to any organized party…’
Still as true today as when Rogers first uttered those prophetic words…! 8-(
Does Suzanne show up this early? If so, howdy do Suzie!
Hey TBSA I Dugg your Digg!! Great Work… gotta keep those Digg Polls up for Da Lake!
I think the reality is primarily #2 and #7. Nixonland policies, and Nixonland politics.
waving from backstage and headed back to behind the curtain
dood - i bet you wave to undercover cops and call them officer (/s)
She is working the MOD JOB! I’m sure!!
Just caught some cat naps from my night atop the mountain…! ;-)
:) Thanks!
Did you mean occifer?
The Goddess is on … do you have a TeeVee up there ?
But of course… Remind me to tell you the story of my sister’s undercover brother in-law at Heathrow Airport in the Eighties….oh man ..
How about all of the above. Americans are ready for a New Deal, again, and ready for people in government who care enough about basic issues of fairness, competence and honesty.
Pictures CT???? Film at eleven maybe??
Does anyone think that McCain will see the handwriting on the wall and end his slime? Maybe, try to unite this nation instead? I’m hoping he has it in him.
Do tell.
Did you mean neoDeal?
I’m thinking no.
I’m down from the mountain, yes there’s a TV up there, but, no cable…! I’m bummed that somebody downloaded some porn and they banned us all from the net up there…! 8-(
I think they’re *more* than ready. They’re practically begging for it.
OH MY GOD! Did anyone else catch what Crazy Grandpa said in Harrisburg PA just about an hour ago?
McCain sounds utterly bonkers! He sounds like Gen. Bat Guano ! Or the Generals in “Seven Days In May”!
As the crowd of several thousand began to swell with cheers and applause, he added with dramatic effect: “America will not have a president who needs to be tested. I’ve been tested, my friends.”
McCain recalled being ready to launch a bombing run during the October 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, which Biden said over the weekend tested a new President John F. Kennedy and was the template for the kind of “generated crisis” the 47-year-old Obama would face within six months of taking office.
“I was on board the USS Enterprise,” McCain, a former naval aviator, said in the capital city of Harrisburg. “I sat in the cockpit, on the flight deck of the USS Enterprise, off of Cuba. I had a target. My friends, you know how close we came to a nuclear war.”
Hopefully McCain is not implying that he was in the “decision-making” capacity while sitting on the deck of the Enterprise? That he was willing to undertake the decision that President Kennedy had the authority to make? That he, himself, pulled back at the last moment?
How can he compare the duty of a pilot to follow command ORDERS with the testibng that Kennedy as President had to make…unless he, himself, was considering making a “rogue” decision????
Sheesh!
Still no digital cam at my disposal yet…!
Maybe on late late nite Ecahn… but they sure did blow his cover!
Was this the same one where he called them all racists?
Not sure I’ll be up that late, but I’m sure I’ll be around when you can link me to it.
McCain would have this race locked up if he told people that he helped Noah build the Ark.
Dang if I could I would send you one…but small financial matters seem to get in the way. /s
I really do not think that is even possible. Mcnutjob’s attitude seems to be one of entitlement to the office. His contempt for BO and those anti- americans who will and have voted for dems is very evident.
Because Noah didn’t have enough experience.
BTW I should point out that some of that story comes from this AP Report. I should have put it in quotes.
McCain Reminds Crowd He Has Been “Tested”
LOL !
C’ape, he also said victory has been achieved in Iraq!
I hear ya loud and clear…! ;-)
And the fundamentals of the economy are strong./s
Woo Hoo … India’s going to the Moon … cheap long distance plans to follow …
H/T to Watertiger for turning us on to this fantabulous:
…best post about John McCain EVAR!
Will that be coach or first class, sir? :)
Yeppers…same speech. And the one where he said
Which should go a long ways in identifying those spots that Palin considers the “Un-American, Un-Patriotic” parts of the USA. Everywhere but Western Pennsylvania, apparently! And that means Utah isn’t anywhere near as God-lovin’ as folks in Western Pennsylvania. And those Virginians (and I guess North Carolinians, and Georgians ) aren’t patriot…at least not to the level of Westrern Pennsylvanians who are not only “the most patriotic”…but gets an even more superlative “most, MOST patriotic part of America”.
[Obama must be having McCain scripts sent to him because two hours before he stated that it was offensive to say that one part of the country was more patriotic that another. “We ALL love this country”!]
Then we can leave?
I’m very relieved to be considered a real American. I was kinda worried for a while there.
imagine the low-gravity outsourcing potential
Bong being nostalgic tonight
Sorry for OT
back to lurk mode
Many moons ago, my first husband & I had an Indian best friend, a PhD candidate in economics at Harvard. We had many many discussions even then (1960s) about how excessively well educated the Indian population was. Huge numbers of underutilized engineers, doctors, PhDs in many pragmatic fields. Like our friend, many emigrated. I am oh so happy to see that the country is finally taking advantage of their rich human resources.
i think the combination of msnbc’s ratings and the tidal wave coming, the new narrative might be “the end of rove politics”
of course the dlc democrats who were roundly ignored this time around (thank god) will try and take credit.
it will be very interesting to see how ms pelosi acts going forward.
first we fumigate the gop trolls, but next the bush-dog democrats MUST GO.
once the media realizes that we arent going home, its going to be a whole new ballgame.
I hate the AP and McInsane…
Where does one ascertain that Obama is rooting for the Rays outta that statement… BTW, I’m rooting for the Phillies too…! ;-)
The one these people are in … *g*
How ’bout that Michelle Bachmann???…heh, heh…what a nutcase…flakorama. I’d sure like to find out that they elected her sorry butt out of office.
Ding.
Just don’t let it sound like purges. We’ll get our candidates in because they’ll do what the voters want. The Blue Dogs & their ilk will lose on their own non-merits.
… and no ‘homeless’ problem …
Anyone know if this is true?
That’s my biggest worry, that Rahm and the DLC get to take credit again. Validating those wankers is the last thing we need.
I am more than happy to sit on my hands and let all the Blue Dogs lose. Especially the ones in blue districts.
Segment on the “good war” on Rachel. What a disaster.
India has 1 Billion doctors.
Don’t believe me ? Just go there and cough three times … in a nanosecond, there’ll be hundreds of “Doctors” swarming, giving you everything from mantras to moonshine … *g*
Yep. I can taste it.
Sounds better than coughing 3 times in the U.S.!
DING!
I have no idea…but surely we would have heard about it before, a reference in his book. Sounds like a crock to me.
CNN talking about Alaska reaction to Palin and the costs for kids on travel. A dust up; hard to say how much.
I was thinking today how much Paul Wellstone would have enjoyed this campaign. He liked to punch holes in inflated egos and would have loved this.
Anybody see this awesome ad for Tom Udall… Humbled…
Miss Wellstone.
Wow. That’s some ad.
Powerful indeed! ;-)
through clenched teeth John McLame has a firm grip on the family drools.
Rachel is great… C’mon Dems prove to us that we can actually win for once…!
Rachel is trying to give Ds a lesson on when to keep their mouths (wrt stoopid comments) shut when microphones are in front of them. Somehow I doubt that the lesson will be learned. Sinners of the day: Murtha, Schumer. Anyone think they are teachable?
Fantasy Kick Ass Dizzyland is jist a WHOOOL LOTTA FUN!!!!
RIGHT up till when it isn’t.
Chit in this country just DOES NOT WORK anymore.
And the whole world RESENTS IT!!!!
and so do We.
it’s about like that, i’m thinkin.
hey eli!
Hey siri!
The story of this campaign will be the spectacular demise of the Republican Party.
Suicide, to be precise.
george bush killed the gop - and mccain/palin are driving the nails in the coffin
definitely.
Hey, that’s a low blow. What did I ever do to you?
Did ya see this one? Totally incoherent. Not sure McInsane’s gonna make it to election day:

As far as this post goes, as long as mega-corporations own all the major media, they will always try to keep things to the right. They’re terrified of people organizing and standing up for themselves again like they did in the 50s and 60s. It’s their job to keep Joe NASCAR voting against his own self-interest, and they’ve been doing a damn good job of it the last 30-40 years.
City Council of St Petersburg has passed an Emergency Ordinance making an 80-something block area around the Contamidome (Tropicana Field) a “clean zone,” prohibiting any type of protests or signs of any type throughout the World Serious, all 7 games. The Uhurus, a quasi-socialist AA group, has been protesting across from the arena on Wednesdays for a couple years over the shooting of a young AA man. I haven’t gotten the official word yet there is a plan afoot for St Pete For Peace and some other organizations to join the Uhurus tomorrow night for an evening of civil disobedience. Gotta get my tiger feeding instructions written down so my friend can feed the tigers while I’m in the slammer.
It is a great day to confront the man.
Sorry, Suzanne.
I think you are correct.
Now pick your prize. :) Door one, two or three.
(They’re all good prizes, ’cause you are a goon ‘un).
I’m now obsessed with that Cuban Missile Crisis story. Very skeptical. Anyone read his book? I think it’s bull and if I’m right, he’s not even going to carry Arizona.
ola Eli, pups
great post
Oh, I’m so sorry, Good ‘un.
You just never when a type goes whacky. :(
Yep, as long as wankers like Meacham get to write the post-mortems, *everything* will be a triumph of conservatism, or at least centrism.
Hopefully they won’t get to write this one unchallenged, though.
Ola and gracias, wobbs!
right on!!!
Paul Krugman had a similar observation in his blog this morning. At this point the Overton window is so far to the right that Barry Goldwater would probably be considered a liberal today.
((SD))
I stand corrected. He has mentioned this before. Still don’t know how much is true, but it’s not the first time he’s talked about it.
Don’t mind of a goon ‘un - that was funny. :)
Didn’t he say something one time about Cindy meeting Mother
Teresa and they had to retract it?
I believe when you thank wobblybits, you must say obrigado (sp?) not gratias.
Geez - now I can’t type. That should be “don’t mind being”.
Long day.
Wow! There’s tears in my eyes. Very powerful!
D’oh! Wasn’t sure what the Portuguese equivalent was.
Hey Marion, my friend from VT, whom you met, used to be a rock ribbed R (he commented after meeting you & your significant other that you are quite liberal), now votes D on the prez ticket. Since Clinton. Hates Sanders, though, and with good reason. My friend is one of the important mfg employers in a state with 600,000 population, and Sanders will not return his phone calls. Unforgiveable.
Last Chance
Should be Obi’s new theme song
Damn, made me cry.
Goddamn you, Shrub, you coward worthless piece of shit.
obrigado is correct (for a dude) but gracias works since i’m here in un-american los angeles
May the angels be with you. Ask your friend to let us know if you are arrested.
How we all got to watch an old man crumble before our eyes! GIVE IT UP!
for eli @ 102
Yes. And, this story sounds fishy. I’m sure some reporter will be on it.
I think our real challenge after this election will be to grow our readership in the New Media by 10 to 20 times. It’s the only way we’ll be able to overcome the cocktail weenie circuit in terms of controlling the national discourse.
Sure, we can put pressure on them here and there, and they’ll throw us a few bones like Maddow and Olbermann, but I don’t see them ever letting go of the centrist-right themes.
Excellent! Thanks, MadDog.
Good grief!!!
Ha! Excellent! I could tell he was an intelligent man when we met. I recall him telling us that Bernie Sanders wouldn’t return calls. That’s unacceptable, particularly in a small state like Vermont. The rock-ribbed Republican in our office, who said early on that he didn’t think he could vote for McCain, let his ugly little bigot flag fly in front of me the other day, so I’m guessing he’ll probably go for Paul, rather than “That One.” Oh, well, at least he’s horrified by McCain and Palin so he won’t vote for them. (Not that it will matter down here…)

My late husband lived in Brazil for 18 years and we vacationed there in the late 1970s. “Thank you” is about all I remember in Portugese. I did have two business seminars as part of the trip, and got into a taxi in Sao Paolo, dressed in a business suit, and gave the driver the address of the meeting on a slip of paper. Well, the driver had never driven a businesswoman, so he launched into a string of Portuguese, inquiring into my business. All I could say was: Noa fallo Portuguese. (scuse spelling; too lazy to look it up). I did have the brochure for the seminar, which I showed him, but that only elicited another spate of Qs which I could not answer in his language. It was a hoot.
No, they’re not going to change, not without either new ownership or a *really* big scare. We’re pretty much on our own - hopefully more and more people will start consuming their news online, where the playing field is a lot more level.
watertiger upstairs
That spot has been playing here in CO more than any other that I can tell, from any campaign.
and it’s a heart wrencher! UDALL is totally as he is portrayed. he just is awesome, smart, caring and right on top of everything relevant going on in the Senate now.
and he’s ahead!
Colorado, my home, will absolutely BE BLUE this year, and for many years to come!
ya heard it from on the ground!
LOL. I don’t think he’s ever visited a blog. If you ain’t heard from me by midnight…
Gathering is planned for 6. Fired up!!
Well, he might be saying something like, “Man, I sure hate voting for a black guy, but it’s a hell of a lot better than voting for McCain.”
Ted is one of the more intelligent people I know. Short on immagination, though, which is typical of engineers.
Nothing will change until we change the Media. Take away consolidation, and return to the fairness doctrine.

Itchy finger to get us into WWIII. Better Kennedy had control of the nuclear trigger than young John McCain, who claimed that he was “tested” at that time.
The implication is that he was rarin’ to “go rogue”!
Evening all - just got in from phone bank. Got a hold of a real wingnut tonight. He was trying to tell me that Obama was born in Kenya and about some law suit that I should checked out because it was on faux. I would have been ROFL if there had been floor space.
Wadda maverick. /s
My dad gave me a book called “English As She Is Spoke”, which is basically a 19th-century Portuguese-to-English phrasebook compiled by a couple of guys who didn’t speak any English.
Mucho hilariotismo.
Hmmm! They can do this…but they can’t protect voters in North Carolina from harassment and intimidation while they are in line…waiting to vote?
So how did the conversation end? Agreeing to disagree? Or did you convince him that Obama was born in the USA and is not a Muslim?
From your lips to God’s ears!
Don’t count on it
Poor Cindy.
*pulling out large mason jar for the bail fund*
Não falo Português *g*
Sorry to one-up you, but a book can’t possibly be as much fun as a real time “conversation” between a Sao Paolo taxi driver who can’t speak English and a NYC economist who can’t speak Portuguese.
A couple were friends of us, he’s US, she’s French Canadian, but also did financial business in Brazil. Anyhow, we were at their ski house in VT and my late husband told a joke in Portuguese. I laughed at the punch line, and they turned to me in disbelief. I said: the punch line is, “I’m not that kind of girl.” Knowing I didn’t speak the language, they asked how I knew that. I said I knew enuf words, and got the gist, to figure it out. Love that kind of experience, though acknowlege it could lead to a huge misunderstanding if carried too far.
Obrigado.
Where you at siri I am in west Arvada.
women say obrigada. obrigado is for men (sexist langauge)
Oy, I am so embarrassed. No one ever told me about the gender difference. *g*
BTW, wobbybits, went rock climbing in Rio in the late 70s. Now that was fun!
Oh, I imagine Chief Harmon is just beside himself with joy. He’d like nothing better than a confrontation with the Uhurus. They’ve been a burr under his saddle since day one and rightfully so. Chief Harmon has a short memory, however. The last time he tried these heavy handed tactics it blew up in his face. From 50-75 people the first night of the barricades, we didn’t know about them until we got there, to well over 300 the following Saturday night and every Saturday night for about 6 weeks when the city council ordered the chief to remove them. The city council is probably betting that nobody will file civil rights related suits in federal court. They haven’t been paying attention. The ACLU officially became the attorneys of record for St Pete For Peace years ago, during the barricade days at BayWalk.
Like French?
*Another* humor book my dad gave me (he has a rather off-center and whimsical sense of humor) has a very funny pair of language-related stories; one about a pair of friends, one French and one English, who converse in each other’s language, badly, in order to sharpen their feeble language skills.
The other is about a guy struggling to learn Japanese, who keeps using the wrong affix (which apparently indicates who or what one is speaking about or to), which completely changes the meaning of the words. My favorite was when he tried to say, “What a lovely temple bell you are ringing there beside the pond”, and it came out, “Dogs, keep barking until we have put our mother underwater.”
We each went our way there is no changing the mind of the mindless
And, of course, there is Mark Twain’s hilarious essay about The Awful German Language…
your ex never told you? oy!!!! well they know you were a foreigner so no biggie.
Where did you hike in Rio? Tijuca National Park? Itatiaia National Park?
like most romance languages I believe
“English as she is spoken”
Craunch the marmoset!
I echoed the very same complaints while I was learning german. Meine gute…
Well, that made me guffaw, much more than my Brazilian taxi driver story.
Language in NOT like riding a bicycle. If you don’t use it, you lose the vocabulary. So I get to Poland in 2001 to meet a distant cousin, who is a wonderful host and tour guide. Only he speaks Polish, Russian and German. I speak English. I took German & French in HS & college, but with no chance to use them, my vocabulary is slimmer than slim. My “cousin” and I had quite a time trying to communicate. I do not want to know the stories they told about my “German” after I left.
My girlfriend loves it. Can’t understand what all the fuss is about.
I occasionally venture into fake German when talking to her, which typically entails adding -gemachtenfuss onto the end of things, which I am told means “-making foot”.
My French could best be described as… vestigial at this point.
damn wish I lived down there.
You like gettin’ arrested, do ya?
i love it too ..now. LOL I fell in love with the language after moving to Germany and living there for a few years. If I rattle off to mr wobbs in german he just rattles off into French (his mother was a french teacher) our arguments are hysterical
Not hiking, technical rock climbing. Since we had only one day, we hired a guide. Think it was something like Negrosa …? If you hum a few bars, I might be able to pick it up. It was mostly friction pitches, i.e. an low angle rock with no real hand holds or foot holds, but you feet will stay on the rock if you smear as much shoe on the rock as you can and keep your posture perpendicular to the rock. As I recall, the views were spectacular.
I have a lot of umm rebellion running through the veins. I’ve never been formally aressted, only ‘held’
How many languages between the two of you?
That counts.
hmm name doesn’t ring a bell but then again Rio is not my stomping grounds. I have only ever hiked Pão de açucar (sugar loaf mountain)
As a child I learned italian while spending a summer in Italy; incollege I learned Spanish and wound up mixing words. Later i sorta could get by in german after hosting a german exchange student for a year. The toughest was lakota. Now I speak english?
me: german, english, portugese, some spanish
him: english, french, portugese
cool. hehehe.
What do you call a person who speaks more than two languages? Multi-lingual.
What do you call a person who speaks two languages? Bilingual.
What do you call a person who speaks only one language? American.
“I only speak two languages: English and bad English.”
(Bruce Willis, The Fifth Element)
LOL sad but true
My late husband did Latin American investment banking after moving back to the U.S. in 1968. He was fluent in English, French, Portuguese, German (his native language), and could make do in Spanish.
Two stories. In a meeting with Banzer, prez of Bolivia, Banzer switched the language to Portuguese, with the statement that his Portuguese was better than my husband’s Spanish.
The other is that at a wedding reception of a secy at Goldman Sachs, we were seated with the bride’s parents, who spoke only Italian. It took no time whatsoever for my husband to be prattling away with them, even though Italian was not in his lexicon.
Language is a wonderful thing, and I always enjoy and am simultaneously embarrassed at trying to get along in anything other than English.
Every possibility of a long day tomorrow.
Force is the weapon of the weak. Ammon Hennacy
Be good to yourselves, and all other living things.

Love those stories.
So I have 2 hypotheses. One is that language skills are a gift that only a minority of the population possesses. The other hypothesis, in conflict with the first, is that language is a skill that is acquired with practice. Would you care to opine?
boa noite SD
peaceful rest. i got the bail fund ready for ya!
slàinte
We took a trip with our exchange student and went from OK to WY, where my son was stationed. She was astounded at the vastness and remarked that if we had gone that far in europe she would have gone through five countries.
As a sixteen year old she was fluent in three languages and conversant in two more. My cousin teaches language at a univ in Geneva and speaks six languages.
I believe in the former as I have an ear for language but many people have learned via the latter. I think they can be acquired either way but the ease by which they are aqcuired is another story altogether.
In the end, I think it may be a mixture of both. As a language instructor, I believe that knowledge of how a language works (grammar rules, etc.) is not the same of knowing how to use the language creatively.
I think that children have an ability to learn languages with ease. Not so later.
Wobblybits & foothillsmike,
I think language is partially a gift, but can be learned. When I used to travel on business to Europe, I used to try to converse with taxi drivers, hotel clerks, airline personnel, whoever, in French or German, just to try to get a little practice. I’m not bragging, but my accent for simple Qs was good enough that they rattled back to me too fast for me to understand. So I think that, if I had lived next to countries where French or German were spoken, I could have maintained those languages, even though I have no particular talent for foreign languages. My late husband, however, was truly gifted in that sphere.
Variances in sentence structure between languages affects perception and vica versa, Being multi lingual (as opposed to american - ha) allows for a mental flexibility.
In many ways this campaign is the liberals VS the media, more than Obama VS McCain.
I hope should Obama win he goes to war against the media.
The democrats should threaten a Constitutional amendment revoking their 1st amendment special privileges. I’d like to see them defend their truthfulness, integrity against the facts of the last 8 years; from zero investigation of election 2000 to the present day.
I would like nothing better than to see them face four years of a constant criticism right in their face from Obama and the liberals. I would love to see FOX News constantly having to report and show video of, Obama calling the the right-wing nut-bag fascist GOP shills that they are. If you’re “fair and balanced” you don’t have to tell people ad nauseum…they’ll know.
Not one person in the media has backed off of their lock-step support of Bush and his murderous wars of invasion. None have acknowledged, to this day, their complicity in the lies and deception perpetrated on the American and world’s people, their failure to properly question, investigate and report the truth of so many matters concerning the Bush/GOP’s years in power. Instead they’ve chosen to ignore the continuing criminal behavior that has destroyed the world as we once knew it.
