Frank Zappa "Muffin Man"
Yes indeed, America, Bush is almost irrelevant. What better time could there be to enjoy a little Frank Zappa and ask yourself, is Bush the Muffin Man?
What’s on your mind tonight?

Frank Zappa "Muffin Man"
Yes indeed, America, Bush is almost irrelevant. What better time could there be to enjoy a little Frank Zappa and ask yourself, is Bush the Muffin Man?
What’s on your mind tonight?
((( Eureka )))
I think of Bush as the GingerBread Man and Fitz as the Wolf …
eXile takes on Joe the Plumber.

Hey, DB,
You have that right!

Really? What state are you in?

hey db
This of course will never be abused in any way, ever.
Lmao… where’s the key?
*spew* … you owe me a chocolate martini, buddy ! *g*
Thank you so much, you are so kind.
The capitalists’ hero is always the lumpenproletariat who dream of becoming capitalists. Joe the Plummer is my archetype of the American loser, dreaming of the lifestyles of the rich and famous but neglecting to even get his plumber’s license. The American loser who, election after election, always votes Republican because when he is rich and famous, he doesn’t want the goddam governmint takin’ away his money and spreadin’ it around.
True story: I had a friend whose daughter was on welfare. In 1980, this daughter voted for Reagan, because: “He’ll get rid of the welfare queens. and then there’ll be more for me.”
just like the cartoon
This is what I think I want to play to Bush on his last day in office:
Please Go Home
Stranger things have happened…
;>)
Digg is open Pups!!
crap, this is the real link
mmmmm. We can get Alabama Blacks up the hill from my little burg.
There’s his out.. he doesn’t do e-mail. /s
Good heavens, it’s one of those effete Northern socialists…Get the blunderbuss, Muffy
;>)
Oh my oh my dear Suz – gives new meaning to the old adage Poetic Justice or something like that. Heh, heh.
Christine, loved the review of your new exhibit. Not to disparage the others, but lalique knocks my sox off.
I’ve never heard this song, and I thought I’d heard them all!
dugg
I’ve known my share of those types. The cognitive dissonance would be funny if it weren’t so tragic.
i heart lalique *sigh*
I respect that, but do we really hate/blame Texas that much?
LOL … how ya doing, db ?
Man arrested for, and I quote, “Receiving sexual favors from a vacuum.“
I love that word.. lumpenprolitariat , Going to use that.
bet he is related to that guy last winter who got caught having sex with a patio table
His talent was incredible and amazing. Nature was his muse and Sarah Bernhardt his inspiration. Thanks for reading the review SN!
Aw man…no, I guess not. Paraguay?
Suzanne,
The most amazing thing was that most of the fab pieces I read about in books, turned out to be in the show!
A predictable end to a none too bright would be rapist.
Dugg it, nahant!
Too bad Frank couldn’t still be with us. Considering his Alaska-themed songs on Apostrophe, he would be able to put the Palin atrocity into perfect perspective for us.
Good evening, ES.
and i heart faberge and i heart tiffanie
oh hell, i heart bling. there i said it.
Hey, South America has suffered enough already … *g*
sigh – i spose the exhibit is not going to be traveling to the pacific northwest
Oh noooo!
Sex with inanimate objects. Yuk. Like with Cindy.
I SHOULD have known after those wedding slippers you bought for baby girl’s wedding…
Does prehistoric presuppose inanimate?
shrudder or shrudder her spouse another shrudder
((( mary )))
Gives new meaning to “clown car”, huh ?
i’m having thanksgiving with the bride and groom at his family’s time share in seaside – north of me.
(baby girl is still single)
I would say Mars maybe, the rovers need some simple company.
San Francisco in 2009 I believe…checking website.
I missed the link to your review… do you still have it handy?
Hey Newt – NOLAN FIRED!
Hallelujah!
Just lost my job (again) and my RRSP took a big sh*t…Other than that, peachy.
You?
;>)
“Receiving sexual favors from a vacuum.“
Receiving sexual favors in a vacuum. Sex with Michele Bachmann.
Evening, neuro. How’s your screen?
That’s not right, better the vacuum than……?
And the right guy stepping in. This is gonna get good.
DarkBlack – I lose mine at COB Friday. Going to India.
Terribly sorry about yours. Try to hang tough. I know (and Suzanne will confirm this) it’s not easy.
oh double crap. so sorry to hear that db
You think he would’ve learned his lesson the first time around.
Not so sure about good – better, even marginally, is an improvement.
sux. sorry db
I love their flavor and the looks of em. Just never ran into any quite that hard before.
These were grown in western NC, Hendersonville. Apparently there are lots of arkansas blacks growing there. Found a nifty apple site that told me they originated in Benton Co., Arkansas.
Now I’m hankering for an orchard, or at least to make some hard cider.

Exactly…
Keep that sunny disposition, it always gets me through tough times …
I think Mike is ready. Has been prepping for this for a good while.
We’re in a depression, folks. It going to be VERY bad for a VERY long time. I wish I could talk J into gettin an RV for us to live in when it all goes south.
We can’t ALL live at Suze’s place!
Hey ES,
Check 77, and I’ll look for more…
It never is, is it?
That said, I’ll muddle through. It’s a multi-decade state of affairs.
;>)
Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (February 7 – May 31, 2009)
i’m gonna have to plan a trip to sf for spring
It bothers me he is a defensive guy. How I yearn for a return to the WCO. Martz ain’t the guy for that. If SIngletary doesn’t get the permanent job, I sure as shit hope they bring in Holmgren in some capacity but i’m not sure he’d even want to work for teh Yorks.
WHole mew meaning to blind drunk.
Sorry. Working in the graphics/3d/media industry is unstable. At least, it makes me unstable. I have been freelancing for a new company and don’t get paid until the jobs are finished. I have been working for free for a month now. There has to be a better way.
Offer Shananan a blank check.
Same for me. I’m getting to be too old to start over. I’m very scared.
Once upon a time I used to have coffee almost every morning with Italian-American Marxist graduates in Political Science and/or Economics. They referred to me as their “token fascist.” I got a lot out of those (late 70s) discussions in terms of what’s wrong with the status quo, but their prescriptions for fixing it were bizarre at best.
But terms like “lumpenproletariate” still floated through my mind years later, when I would play pool with Joe-Sixpack types. We generally have fine discussions. But I could often sense where their buttons were and would sometimes lead them down the garden path to having to give up their stated principles or to unRepublican ideas. And, often, their status as Repubicans and/or whites was their last grip on a sense of social validity. And occasionally things used to get a bit ugly. (So, I don’t play pool in bars much any more.)
I’m in Firefox, so it is fine.
I remembered why I even use IE instead of Firefox. Because I can’t see the Digg magic letters on Firefox, and I can’t understand them when I listen to them.
As long as nahant does the heavy Digging, that is not a problem.
I’d be happy to see that.
Mary, are you by chance freelancing for some outfit in Utah? A friend of mine is.
I might become a Niners’ fan again …
I really should plant a few… have the perfect area in mind. Benton Co is my western neighbor.
Niters fabulous late late firepups. (((((dark black)))))
Thank you
Yesterday, I turned it off at halftime. I just couldn’t watch. I even stopped the DVR record.
oh, yeah. and because show text doesn’t work in Firefox.
And Singletary is the best thing that could happen to their O-Line, since they are leading the league in “about to have a corpse at QB.”
are they ever going to fix that?
Nope. I am in the Sacramento area.
niters npb
‘Working in the graphics/3d/media industry is unstable’
Is it, M.? I don’t work in that industry but I suppose it would be. It certainly can be that way in everything else I’ve put a hand to.
;>)
((( npb )))
G’nite all !
nite npb
nite petro
I think it was my brother in med school years ago who reported a gent arriving at the emergency room in need of assistance to extract a vegetable from his posterior; claimed to have slipped while gardening.
Hi Neuro I am trying but things aren’t quite the same for me these days and I have been missing time here at the Lake and the Digging we so much like to compete at!
Wow, he had to slip just right….
and yet there was not a corresponding hole in his clothing…
You guys and gals need to take your country away from the people who are breaking it, once and for all. ‘Will of the people’ time.
What do you do? I thought you were in image making.
Graphics is driven by the economy. Some industries actually do more advertising in troubled times. for a while.
Our biggest client was an ice cream and dairy company in Iowa. They can do well in hard times. People can splurge on the little things. But the division we worked for was purchased by a Mexican company and freelancers didn’t go for the ride.
Morning pups,
Hey Petro, wanna see a few pics?
Good night, npb.
Damn, i just missed him…
No, I’m in the building trades at the moment. I trained for digital media, but no jobs were to be found.
When my first husband was an intern at a catholic hospital in San Francisco one of the nuns lost a thermometer up her little whowho. She said she was taking her temp.
no dig at Zappa, but I can still remember the colossal headache I got at his concert at Stanford, must have been late 70s or early 80s.
wanna show me?
How would he account for that? Very curious indeed!
hang in there, db

sorry to hear that nahant, I wish only the best for you and your sweetie.
looking forward to getting that new machine!

That’s the spirit.
;>)
Nice photos, Suz – Is the view better there than at the old place?
hey guys just a quick drive by and then off to the Daily show.
Save the Males & The Creepy Husband.
ew.
I have to say Pirates of the Carribean has a special place in my heart. First, it was my favorite ride as a kid at Disneyland in Anaheim. I mean as a little kid, the darkness highlighted by the pirate figures, the jewels and treasure, the pirate ship, etc, etc. Second, at the end of the first movie Captain Jack Sparrow said that the Pearl was “freedom”. I can totally dig that. In those days you were either super rich and powerful, or dirt poor and subject to victimization/criminalization. Wow how far we have come…. Like I said, one of my favorite stories.
yes you!! and if so when do we get to see it?? I was only able to see parts of it because of things here at home.
Hi suz, Christine and ES. Sorry, I had to fix a couple of the pics.
Peter Hammill in Hamilton.
I want to know when it comes Neuro!!
You don’t need me for that.
Here it is.
I swear, I love this song. Is that wrong? Should I be ashamed?
Maybe we should tell him there’s lots of muffins at the Inn of the Hague.
I’m just sorry I can’t see the exhibit. Your new wing sounds spectacular.
Van der Graf Generator!
hey, it’s not talk like a pirate day, is it?
I never know what day that is until it happens
arrrr
maybe but
I knew you would know where to find it…. Thanks Newt(:>))
one thing we are all not is Joe the Plumber now…
1,802 DAYZ AND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…

KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION AND LET’S GET BROTHER OBAMA’S BACK WHILE HE TAKES CARE OF HIS GRANDMA!!
nah, it’s darkblack contemplating a career change.
Substitute the word ‘pirate’ for the word ‘actor’, add a few pithy, pungent phrases, et voila…We are all Honest John.
;>)
I echo this sentiment. hope you don’t mind..
i like this one best
Petro and I met last friday night to see this mesmerising show. It was a true pleasure to meet Petro. Hammill has a voice like no one else, he grabs your attention, and he keeps it til the end. I smiled from ear to ear , for three hours, after that masterful experience.
hey, Norske
it’s always good to hear your battle cries
how about that John McInsane, trying to make us all out to be commies now?
hell no – i make a bee line for pirates as soon as i get off space mountain when down at dizzyland. if the line at space is too long, then i reverse the order of riding em.
pirates is a great ride for hot summer afternoons too – or to sit in the bayou cafe (or whatever they call it), sipping on a sweet tea
Hey
way forking kewl – tds sent jason to wassilla alaska
Hey Punaise,
Yup, the man himself. I had seen him do a solo performance in 1974, he was opening for Genesis, when the great Peter Gabriel was fronting. Never seen VDGG, sadly…
The Mug Shot Saloon is where Neiwert reported from one day.
I am totally with you, I swear I can see it all in my minds eye. The hot summer afternoon thing is soooooo right. I am smiling big. thanks.
…and with him on the social list, and all.
;>)
nice pics Suz. This time of year before it gets socked in in OR spells a wild mix of light and clouds.
pre dawn
and
whither winter
OK, that one is terrific!
oh that is so forking kewl muzzy – dayam, i may have to stay up to see a dawn here – have come close but haven’t done so yet.
lovely, just lovely
Also, my favorite nephew, when he was only two and it was his first amusement park experience, Pirates was his first ride. I thought he might cry, because it was dark and he was only two years old, but when we went down that first little “dip” he laughed and loved it, and when it was over, he wanted to go again, what a precious memory.
Well time to hit the hay!! Nite pups Sleep well when ya get there(:>))
Sounds like a great show.
I’m having flashbacks… Nektar, Gentle Giant, Camel, Caravan, PFM, Le Orme, arti + mestieri, Brand X, and of course, towering above all, Gabriel era Genesis. Most of the rest hasn’t aged as well….
which of
John’sCindy’s 13 cars is he in there in that shot, db?Citizen Norske.. I do believe old CT has his head in the stars tonight.. and he’s collecting a paycheck for it! That rascal.. couldn’t happen to a better islander.
ET may be saving Alaska with David Neiwert on his heels or the other way around.
And I haven’t seen Raven in a couple of days, but I am a blog night owl.
G’night nahant
Banco and Magma are still doing exceedingly well. Cheers, night all.
Wow, beautiful pics!
g’nite nahant (waving to sweetie and tucker)
Raven was here this afternoon.
g’nite q – nice seeing ya again
Just another belle epoche moment on the grand tour that our broken Golden Child has for a life.
;>)
Ta, N.
got to go. nite, all.
just 14 days to go!
Speaking inanimate McCains, I think they’re using liquid temporary face lift on her spouse before he speaks. Too taught. Othertimes, he’s showing signs of Liebersag when his jaw’s not jutted out.
Uncertain, but it has perfectly respectable Republican cloth seats, Neuro.
;>)
g’nite neuro
and to think Obama wants to confiscate that limo and give it to the people.
scary!
Ta…
just a few nicks on the bumper.
Best wishes DB and peace.
Beautiful!
Do you know about Dark Roasted Blend?
Why am I thinking of the old purple late 70’s stretch Lincoln we drove to St Louis to see Dylan a couple of years back. Yes, we named that old car, Shaft.
Right after they boil all the white ladies in a pot and stuff all the Red State ‘valya voters’ into cattle cars headed for the Big Casino, no doubt.
;>)
Goodnight, all.
Sweet…
g’nite db
nahant, my very best thoughts and prayers for you and your sweetie.
I do love the way you guys go for the gold, you and Neuro.;)
Rick James loved that car.
Who are these people that don’t pay taxes?
super freak
and why wouldn’t he?
Brain bleach stat please! ((DB))
Yup, he still is.
press that red button next to your power station – double strength tonight
Exactly, one of the things that annoys me is when McIdiot calls Obama a socialist and claims that people who don’t work will get tax breaks, hello, you cannot get a tax break if you don’t pay taxes already, which means you work! If you don’t work, you don’t pay taxes, which means you cannot get a tax break. doh!
Sorry, not as articulate as I would like it, but hope it gets the point across.
there you go, looking for logic in a republican position.
if the r’s looked at things logically, they would be d’s.
I didn’t realize it was a traveling exhibit. Maybe there’s hope for one of us.
Color me logically challenged. I stupidly expect logic to be universal, silly me.
Not to fail to mention most folks I know work the equivalent hours of two jobs.. most every day of the week, ust to get by. And it’s not their taxes they are worried about.
I just meant like you I would love to be able to see the exhibit.
baby girl is working 2 part time jobs – 65 hours this week – with no benefits. she is barely scrapping by – which is why she has a second job.
Nate Silver at fivethirtyeight.com says that we have a one-in-three chance of a sixty seat majority, but the average expected majorit is 56.7 seats.
if the mccain campaign continues to tank, hopefully we will get to 50/50 odds for 60 seats?
That is just not right. No one should have to work the equivalent hours of two jobs just to live. The Rethugs have used this as some kind of badge of honor, it sickens me. People have a right to down time, time spent with their families, friends, hobbies, sports, intellectual pursuits, whatever floats their boat. Working like a dog is not what life should be hijacked for.
People are exhausted, stressed and worried, But they don’t have the time to sort through the details to understand why or what to do about it…much less have the time or energy to do something. And most of the small business people i know are not as bothered by the actual taxes as they are the time and energy it takes to feed the bureaucratic beasts.
yeap – hard lesson to learn when only 19
I believe with all my heart and soul we get there.
gotta have hope. hope gets me through those dark nights when i feel the weight of the world on my shoulders.
and of course, late late nite is where i let my hair down so i can fight for hope again tomorrow.
that’s it for me, pups. g’nite all.
Going to be real interesting to watch things like the few solidly anti choice Dem Senators when they have to back some new nominees… or back the party on getting out of a few military conflicts.
You know the bastards do this on purpose. They want us to be so stressed, overworked, undereducated, fearful, and downtrodden to not question their rule. I say no more.
nite suz
Open Left
good night Suzanne, sweet dreams of hope!
g’night Suz I’m out too later folks
I’m with you.. after a few hours sleep. *g*
Good night firedogs
I read Daniel’s piece, not sure I agree. Needs some dimension.
But my sense is that a McCheese loss is excuse enough for the loudest of the loud to sound the battle-cry, and those predisposed to believe, and act accordingly, will.
I don’t think the truth has any bearing at all on what their tactics will be. De-legitimize at all costs, every minute of every hour of every day.
You know these old bastards are old school, I say we show them some new school, Obama wins big because we refuse to let the old bastards steal this election! I don’t believe the polls are close at all. Just look at the crowds at Obama’s rallies, just look at the millions and millions of small doners to his campaign, the fact that they don’t usually poll cell phone users. They are trying to save face for McCain or again trying to steal an election. Not this time. Not ever again!
nite pun
nite eureka
I’ve been thinking about that. Maybe some of us should turn Hugh’s List into a To-Do list for Obama: repeal this, restore that, and have a special investigator check out this other thing. For example, restore Posse Comitatus. Ya think?
Good night Eureka, sweet dreams.
I’m with you.
Good night punaise, peace.
Citizen Sophiehunter:
Bless yer heart Citizen Sophie but anythin’ over a 3% spead in the general election will amount to a landslide in the popular vote (and probably the electoral college also)…that’s not to say that many of the polls are not far short of the real spread, but most polls don’t know how ta deal with the tremendous number of new registrants, unlike Crazy John McCain and the fascists who jest wanna disenfranchise the lot of ‘em.
Don’t fret dear…Barak is gunna get home with at least a 6-8% margin and it could be 10%+ if the fascist base gets demoralized.
Here is a really good article by Chris Hedges, entitled “The Idiots Who Rule America”: http://www.truthdig.com/report…..e_america/
’nuff said.
Just to amplify on Norske’s argument, Nate Silver at fivethirtyeight.com, whom many consider to be one of the best oddsmakers in the business, projects a 4.8% spread in the popular vote, yet a:
– 92.5% vs. 7.5% spread in the likelihood of winning
– 344 vs. 194 spread in electoral votes.
Citizen wigwam:
If Crazy John McCain gets more’n 160 electoral there better be congressional investigations!
George W Bush…a Hague Muffin
1,702 DAYZ AND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…
And furthermore, we need a humiliating landslide to put a stake thru the heart of the beast of American fascism…root and branch, this scourge on humanity for the last 150 years must be irradicated root and branch, then we can rejoin the rest of civilization and aide in the struggle to save the planet.
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION, THE CURE FOR A SICK DEMOCRACY IS MORE DEMOCRACY!!!
Take no prisoners!
attack. Attack. ATTACK.
I think that we are on the same page here.
I don’t know about you, but I’ll take these odds. What is the deal here?
I don’t know what you guys come lately to the party are talking about. I believe Obama wins and wins big. I will personally takes bets on this. If you read the whole thread you would know where I have been coming from. I totally respect your enthusiasm. Very cool. Keep the faith and keep on keepin on. Peace.

Here’s a link to the the review at cleveland.com I enjoyed so much. She posted this a few days ago.
Thank you for this. All I can say is wow, how beautiful.
Heh, I was thinking you guys were talking “ALAN” Hamill.
