Obama in FL– w/ Hillary. And barring my boss being a meanie, I’ll be there. The e-mail I got from the Obama campaign said it was going to be in the arena but they’re expecting 30-40,000 so they’ve moved it outside. they’r ereally pushing early voting. I wasn’t heare in 2004 but Kerry had given up the state and there was no push for early voting by them. I said at the bottom of the last thread that i went to poll watcher training in my county yesterday. The room wasn’t big enough for the crowd they had expected. People sitting, standing everywhere-even in the hall outside the room. Very impressed with the organization. like I said in the last thread, if we lose FL, I think it’s going to have to be fair and square. i don’t think anybody is gonna steal this state from us this time.

yes we can.

Re: Palin: OPbama’s Crowd’s Are Worse. Another toughie for Sarah. the Christian Broadcasting Network. She says this: Obama is telling his suppoters “get in their face, argue with them.” That’s gotta stop. Inciting people to be active. Doesn’t that upity guy know Democrats are supposed to roll over and let Republicans walk all over them?

You’re so pathetic! You just don’t get it! After 8 years of your bullshit, you’re gonna see the landslide of your life against you slimy pathetic fascist Pigs and if McCain “wins” it it’s because ya had to steal the election, isn’t that right YOU PATHETIC ASSHOLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, but I flip out sometimes. I hope Barack Obama considers Ass Limbo, Glenn Beck, Howie Carr, Neal Bortz, and other right wing radio commenters AS RACIST HATE SPEECH SPREADERS & VIOLENCE INDUCERS (domestic terrorists) AND HAS THEIR SHOWS REMOVED FROM THE AIRWAVES TO PROTECT OUR COUNTRY!!!!

I would love that.

Insiders Work Toward Socialism – you’ve been warned. This is about his agenda – the one you see being implemented now every single day…

The most important question to ask is:

“Who in our government is more loyal to David Rockefeller than to the American people?” If you don’t know Rockefeller’s role, it’s because he doesn’t want you to know.

http://www.tysknews.com/Depts/…..1_shot.htm

http://www.tysknews.com/Depts/…..3_evil.htm

“Most people prefer to believe that their leaders are just and fair, even in the face of evidence to the contrary, because once a citizen acknowledges that the government under which he lives is lying and corrupt, the citizen has to choose what he or she will do about it. To take action in the face of corrupt government entails risks of harm to life and loved ones. To choose to do nothing is to surrender one’s self-image of standing for principles. Most people do not have the courage to face that choice. Hence, most propaganda is not designed to fool the critical thinker but only to give moral cowards an excuse not to think at all.”

Thanks for my daily news brief BT.

I thought, in light of the racist spin of Limbaugh and George Will, I would link to Rep. Senator Richard Lugar’s endorsement of Obama as well as Lincoln Chafee’s endorsement.

http://obamaendorsements.blogs…..ncoln.html

http://obamaendorsements.blogspot.com/

At least David Brooks got it correct.

Chafee has even campaigned for Obama here in Ohio.

I think I might copy this to our dear racist radio hosts.

George Will just ended his career as far as I am concerned. I would like to see a petition to end his career for his racists, stupid statements. Likewise for Rush.

So she cannot stand confrontation to hate talk? That should get wide press. Obama was not encouraging hate or violence. He was encouraging confronting the hate and the lies. Manipulators with a disfunctional life cannot handle intervention with the truth. It deflates everything for such a person. Not to mention submission to a twelve step program. She needs a twelve step program for her racism.

As Barack says (paraphrasing): “If I’m going to help you get back on your feet, then you must give something in return”.

Yep, if Americans are benefiting from the government, then they must do X-amount of community service to keep their benefits, and if you end up with a good paying job, then wonderful! It’s a cycle that will create a solid base for our country. Right now our country is on toothpicks thanks to years of fascist capitalism.

“Whatever the price of the Chinese Revolution, it has obviously succeeded not only in producing more efficient and dedicated administration, but also in fostering high morale and community of purpose. The social experiment in China under Chairman Mao’s leadership is one of the most important and successful in human history.”

- David Rockefeller (about Mao Zedong in the New York Times, August 10, 1973)

http://www.city-data.com/forum…..otype.html

Here is the direct quote from his book pg. 405

For more than a century, ideological extremists at either end of the political spectrum have seized upon well-publicized incidents to attack the Rockefeller family for the inordinate influence they claim we wield over American political and economic institutions. Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as “internationalists” and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure – one world, if you will. If that’s the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.

-David Rockefeller

After 8 years of predatory capitalism, I myself would like to see at least some economic experiments. Any form of economic justice will always be slandered and opposed by the ultra-wealthy.

Are you repeating the latest KKKarl Rove talking point. “Obama is a socialist.” The neo-cons have stolen the last two elections. It has not been socialists who think the Constitution is just a piece of paper. It has not been socialists who have used “signing statements” to undermine the rule of law. It is capitalism that has failed us all.

It’s a mistake, though, to attribute Powell’s endorsement primarily to some kind of race loyalty.
It’s Obama’s social liberalism, not his skin color, that attracts Powell most.

Thank you. Very powerful video & song. ;-) I think the sign at the end says it all: “No Vietnamese ever called me a n****r”. Yep. If our country’s leaders are going to point fingers at other countries for being this ‘n that, we first need to check in with where our country is and what it’s doing!

This is what we’ve been fighting for for the past 8 years. Everything George Bush has done in our names has been vile and for his supporters to say the world has the problem and not us is dispicable!

Barack Obama is going to change this. As soon as the world sees him and his beautiful family walking to the front door of the White House, there will be rejoicing all over America and the world!

If Johnny & Sarah Pee get in there instead, THE WORLD WILL CONSIDER IT AN ACT OF WAR AGAINST THEM. Yep. Our country will be on Red Alert….again.

Have a great day everyone! ;-)

Speakin of confronting the talk-

I am sure you all saw the “we are a center right country” unchallanged bull this weekend. And the fear the one party rule since it may be socialism.

Notice how they had a stack of R’s on Meet the Press to “balance” the R Powell?

Polling shows we are a center left country, but that a minority party can hold power by brining two rather opposite groups together (Ex. social “values” voters that are voting against their economic interests plus fiscal conservative (rich/powerful) who want the money issues and could give a fig about social issues…so when you add it up the poor social values voters are voting against their economic interests and the blue blood R’s are voting for the most part against what they believe on social issues but again don’t care since money and power is better then a fig leaf on social issues).

This whole Joe the Plumber thing shows exactly what’s wrong with the Rethug party.

First, they always put image over substance, never wanting to do even the slightest homework.

Why put someone out there as a plumber who doesn’t even have a plumber’s license, first name isn’t even Joe, has back taxes due, and doesn’t make anywhere near $250,000/yr?

With a little effort on ‘teh Google’ you could probably find hundreds of people who actually fit that profile within minutes, but no, details aren’t important to these people.

Their second flaw then comes into view; when proven wrong, don’t ever apologize or correct your course, just start blaming the other side.

This is why one of the first things Barack will do (if the schmucks across America have given the Democrats a sizable lead in the Senate, of course!) is to sign into law the Employee Free Choice Act. This Act gives workers one more choice in forming a Union and it gives them a louder voice without all the bullshit. I like it. I’m the daughter of a paper Union worker and my Dad raised us 3 kids on mainly his salary. He was able to afford a home (with a down payment), 2 cars, and a summer camp which gave us the best childhood we could ever ask for!

I would love to see America go back to these roots. We have to, because quite frankly, fascist capitalism has not worked because American jobs are being sent overseas. Barack will punish those companies who do this! Excellent.

It’s time to stand up for ALL Americans and not the ones who make $5,000,000/year and say to us ‘they’re one of us’. Without the middle class spending their money in this country, it collapses. Relying on the robber barons at the top to hold up the country is laughable and doesn’t freaking work as we’ve seen!

Ronald Reagan was wrong. Barack Obama is correct. The End.

Okay, officially going to work now! LOL Take care everyone.

We’ve got our Amendment 2 to deal with here. The Rethug legislature put a constitutional amendment on the ballot a few years ago that requires 60% yes to pass amendments. It passed but now I think they think perhaps it wasn’t such a good idea after all. It doesn’t look like the bigots have the votes for 60%. Awwwww, poor wittle bigots. Hopefully the tide is turning on the Rethugs in FL.

You know, if I was a decision maker in the Obama campaign, I would snag all the Republicans that sat on the Annenberg Foundation with Obama to make a statement about the Foundation’s work and Obama’s role on the committee.

http://www.annenbergfoundation….._id=702786

The McCain campaign also cited an opinion piece by conservative commentator Stanley Kurtz in the Sept. 23, 2008, Wall Street Journal as evidence of the foundation’s radicalism. Kurtz wrote that Ayers was the “guiding spirit” of the foundation, and it “translated Mr. Ayers’s radicalism into practice.”

But Ayers’ views on education, though certainly reform-oriented and left-of-center, are not considered anywhere near as radical as his Vietnam-era views on war. And even if they were, there was a long list of individuals involved with the Chicago Annenberg Challenge whose positions provided them far more authority over its direction than Ayers’ advisory role gave him.

Let’s look at a few, starting with the funder. Annenberg was a lifelong Republican and former ambassador to the United Kingdom under President Richard Nixon. His widow, Leonore, has endorsed McCain. Kurtz might just as plausibly have accused Obama and the foundation of “translating Annenberg’s conservatism into practice.”

Among the other board members who served with Obama were: Stanley Ikenberry, former president of the University of Illinois; Arnold Weber, former president of Northwestern University and assistant secretary of labor in the Nixon administration; Scott Smith, then publisher of the Chicago Tribune; venture capitalist Edward Bottum; John McCarter, president of the Field Museum; Patricia Albjerg Graham, former dean of the Harvard University Graduate School of Journalism, and a host of other mainstream folks.

“The whole idea of it being radical when it was this tie of blue-chip, white-collar, CEOs and civic leaders is just ridiculous,” said the foundation’s former development director, Marianne Philbin.

The foundation gave money to groups of public schools – usually three to 10 – who partnered with some sort of outside organization to improve their students’ achievement.

More here:

http://www.politifact.com/trut…..llegation/

Crazy thing is the Annenberg Foundation is considered one of the most prestigious conservative charity foundations. It is widely respected across party lines for its’ support of education. Once again, McC is fighting a stupid battle; thus, once again failing to lack leadership.

I don’t think they have made her comments into an adthough…

My favorite from the article:

This attack is false, but it’s more than that – it’s malicious. It unfairly tars not just Obama, but all the other prominent, well-respected Chicagoans who also volunteered their time to the foundation. They came from all walks of life and all political backgrounds, and there’s ample evidence their mission was nothing more than improving ailing public schools in Chicago. Yet in the heat of a political campaign they have been accused of financing radicalism. That’s Pants on Fire wrong.

(my bold)

Funny, the widow of Annenberg should pull her McCain endorsement for dissing her husband’s foundation…

NOBAMA has no leadership skills, name me one piece of major legislation he has submitted? What’s that? You can’t? That’s because he never has, and that’s 100% true!!!

Here here! Extend it to health insurance companies too. There should be a ban on ALL for-profit health insurance. There is no room for the profit motive when it comes to treating medical problems – it must be entirely left to the doctor and patient.

So, I say that any and all insurance companies should be required to be insurance unions like credit unions. The ONLY cost cutting should be in using generics instead of name-brand meds when there is a choice (and they are equivalent in effectiveness). The only place where there might be room from proft insurance is when it comes to purely elective cosmetic surgery.

Global Poverty Act (S.2433)
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Barack Obama (D-IL), Chuck Hagel (R-NE), and Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and Congressman Adam Smith (D-WA) today hailed the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s passage of the Global Poverty Act (S.2433), which requires the President to develop and implement a comprehensive policy to cut extreme global poverty in half by 2015 through aid, trade, debt relief, and coordination with the international community, businesses and NGOs. This legislation was introduced in December. Smith and Congressman Spencer Bachus (R-AL) sponsored the House version of the bill (H.R. 1302), which passed the House last September.

Legislative Transparency and Accountability Act (S. 230)
The final bill that the Congress passed closely mirrored and drew key provisions in a bill (S. 230) that Senators Obama and Feingold introduced in January 2007 to establish a “gold standard” for reform. Among the provisions in the Obama-Feingold bill that were adopted by the Senate and the House were: strict bans on receiving gifts and meals from lobbyists; new rules to slow the revolving door between public and private sector service; and an end to the subsidized use of corporate jets.

Lugar-Obama Nonproliferation Legislation Signed into Law by the President

WASHINGTON – President Bush today signed the Lugar-Obama proliferation and threat reduction initiative into law.

Authored by U.S. Sens. Dick Lugar (R-IN) and Barack Obama (D-IL), the Lugar-Obama initiative expands U.S. cooperation to destroy conventional weapons. It also expands the State Department’s ability to detect and interdict weapons and materials of mass destruction.

“The United States should do more to eliminate conventional weapons stockpiles and assist other nations in detecting and interdicting weapons of mass destruction. We believe that these functions are underfunded, fragmented and in need of high-level support,” said Lugar, Republican leader of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

And, there are 113 more…like this

S.692 : A bill to amend title 38, United States Code, to establish a Hospital Quality Report Card Initiative to report on health care quality in Veterans Affairs hospitals.

Sponsor: Sen Obama, Barack [IL] (introduced 2/27/2007) Cosponsors (1)
Committees: Senate Veterans’ Affairs
Latest Major Action: 2/27/2007 Referred to Senate committee. Status: Read twice and referred to the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.
