In any case, it seems that his sire was pretty much obscure and the visit by the Weekly Standard and National Review conventions were independent of anything that Adam could have arranged. His “movement” only gained momentum after the article by Barnes in the Weekly Standard, and these pundits were already besotted with their “new discovery”.

But I bet they used Adam’s site as a means of propagating the meme of “Draft Sarah” and to keep their own involvement under the radar. If it sounded like they were pushing her it would have revealed that she was actually an ideologue of the most extreme sort. They needed to make her appear palatable to moderates “she crosses the aisle”, “she’s a maverick against those in her own party”, and keep her real extremist views out of sight.
