This morning on "This Week" George Will was asked what he thought about Colin Powell’s endorsement of Barack Obama.
His response?
Black, black, blackety-black black black blackety-black.
SNUFFLEUPAGUS: We just found out that former Sec. of State General Colin Powell has said he’s going to vote for Barack Obama. Big impact?
WILL: Some impact. And I think this adds to my calculation — this is very hard to measure — but it seems to me if we had the tools to measure we’d find that Barack Obama gets two votes because he’s black for every one he loses because he’s black because so much of this country is so eager, a, to feel good about itself by doing this, but more than that to put paid to the whole Al Sharpton/Jessee Jackson game of political rhetoric.
Huh?
Excuse me, but what the fuck do Al Sharpton and Jessee Jackson have to do with George W. Bush’s Secretary of State, a former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and a lifelong Republican endorsing Obama?
Oh, right — they’re all black.
Pretty incredible that no one on the panel challenged Will’s blatant racism (America’s voting for the black guy out of white guilt) but based on the batshit crazy wingnut comments on Faux News’ website, Will is just articulating what the GOP base is telling itself: Powell’s just going with the brother because he’s a brother.

About Firedoglake
George Will and the rest of the GOP Klan can bite my large white butt, Remember, the ‘R’ in Republican stands for racist. It’s part and parcel to their philosophy and platform. They live it, breathe it, feed it to their kids every morning with corn flakes and toast.
They try to dress it up, to make it more palatable to the rest of us but as the saying goes: No matter how much frosting you put on a cowpie, it’s not a birthday cake.
hey, Obama was black months ago. It took Palin and Mcsame’s recent erratic behavior to bring the General to endorse Obama.
If it was about being black, he would have endorsed before.
Good for George. I like to see the stripes on the racist.
When I first heard his response, I literally didn’t understand any of it. I had to play it three times to finally hear what the hell he was saying.
I think the other panelists must’ve been equally baffled.
Al Sharpton?
I still don’t understand what Will is trying to say.
OT – Ron Christie alert on MSNBC.
I’ll leave out all my favorite adjectives for Ron….
Translation: I’m speaking out of my ass here.
I think he was saying that Obama is NOT Sharpton and that people voting for Obama are tired of the rhetoric of Sharpton et al.
….. but it’s really a strange thing to say.
The only certain conclusion is he’s making it all about race, which is pathetic.
Well, sure — but what does that have to do with Powell?
Blackety black black.
He was getting all tongue-tied there, knowing that what he was saying sounded racist, but couldn’t help himself. What about Michael Jackson?
That really was bad. Not only because of what he said but also that he said it in response to the question he was asked, as Blue Texan points out. In short, the most important thing about the Shrub’s first Secretary of State is that he was black. Wonder how Condi feels about this sort of rubbish from the Party in whose administration she chooses to serve??
george will: living down to my opinion of his morals, ethics, and intellect.
George Will may be “speaking in tongues” but it’s still about race
Not just black folks voting for Obama because he’s black. Black folks voting for Obama because he’s black while white folks vote against Obama because he’s black as a way of telling the world they reject the idea that race is an issue in this country.
He’s amazingly desperate for this to mean he was right about something.
Obama AND Powell are black? My god, I had no idea.
Well this changes everything….no it doesn’t. Will is a racist and a fool.
What about Michael Jackson?
heh. He’s got a good beat and georgewill can dance to it.
And – oh yeah, he’s not black.
Who knew Colin Powell, of all people, had white guilt? Stick with George Will — you’ll learn something batshit crazy every day.
I wonder if McCain will reject and denounce the “conservatives on the Georgetown cocktail party circuit” again.
Memo to George Will and the rest of the talking heads;
This is the first time in the history of this country that someone other than a white man has been the Democratic nominee.
Ya think maybe there might be some citizens of this country who are kind of excited they have someone they can relate to?
Idjits.
LOL!
Will is a racist and a fool.
It’s pretty simple really.
Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are, to georgewill, n*****s.
Obama? jury’s still out for georgewill.
With the economy in the crapper, I’m sure that what the country really wants to do is use the upcoming election to make a statement about race relations.
Yeah — that’s what makes that take so odd. It’s not like an election like 2000 or 1996, where everything is going pretty much okay.
It’s a gigantic cluster — not the ideal time for an affirmative action election.
What an ass.
Goopers circling the wagons around a post election rationale? Obama only won because he’s black?
Funny as hell.
george will: what economic problems? i’m still raking in at least a bazillion a year. looks good from here.
George Will can kiss my (rather considerable) ass.
It’s shit like this that makes black people feel you just can’t win in this country.
Here’s a guy who did everything ‘they’ said you should to get ahead in this country, bootstraps and all, and yet he gets Powell’s endorsement because he’s black.
Please.
Where’s all the talk about the true ‘affirmative action’ candidate in this race — McSame.
He (just like his economic guru, Phil ‘master of disaster’ Gramm) have fed from the government trough their entire lives yet yammer on about ‘wasteful government spending’, and ‘getting government out of our lives’, except, of course, when the checks have their names on it.
The hypocrisy is mind boggling.
Fareed Zakaria is endorsing Obama right now! Not that that’s a surprise!
*sigh*
nothing worse than waking up to this kind of stupid
Limbaugh: Powell’s an ingrate to do this because Obama’s black, because Reagan and Bush 1 made him and Bush 2 was nice enough to give his kid a job.
Speaking of his kid, he works for the McCain campaign. Wonder how long it takes him to denounce dad?
Wingnuts love affirmative action — but for white people.
See legacy admissions, trust funds, and Bush, George W.
George Will probably feels that Obama will let Condi carry on as Sec of State, after all, she is a sista!
I coulda gone to Stanford, but am certainly glad I made other choices, since now I don’t have to feel a sense of shame for a past association with a place that will apparently give her shelter when her criminal organization is finally run out of DC. Of course she still may have to go hide in Paraguay with Dickhead and Dickless.
as much as South Americans hatge bush, that is no safe place to hide
hate
ding, ding, ding!
Obama raised 150 million in one month? I am impressed
Morals, ethics or intellect?
George Will-fully Stubborn actually HAS any of the three?
Let’s stick it to the man and enslve the white people. oh um did I say that out loud?
George Will = POS. So what new about George?? He ahs always been a racist maybe a closet one but it was always there as an under current in his statements!!!
evidently, I’m having issues withthe letter ‘a’ this morning. *g*
This week’s talking point distributed to all the repubs was to remind everyone that O is black. It was the theme of every show. Bradley Effect, black turnout, blah, blah, blah. It was an amazing thing to witness.
O/t -
No idea of crowd size but Obama speech in Fayetteville, NC is sounding great! [MSNBC just discontinued broadcast :-( ].
I thought Paraguay was still the only place in South America that loved fascists and war criminals and conveniently doesn’t have an extradition treaty with anyone who won’t execute true freedom fighters on the spot!
My understanding is any still surviving Nazis can be found there!
Poor George McCain Will. He forgot to mention all those blackety black black voters who have voted for white candidates for years now! Awwwwww, but I suppose when you’re on the losing side once again, you have to say the black candidate is “only” going to get black voters, when really, most of the people supporting Barack are white.
What an ass.
Heh, I know what ya mean.
I finally got pissed off and yanked the CAPS key off and tossed it.
I would type in a big comment and then look up and see half was caps.
I no haz this problem anymore.
It’s on CNN.com on video.
has condi openly endorsed McCain yet? I think she snubbed Palin on Friday by including obama, McCain and biden on Dept of State briefing, but that was probably for legimate national security reasons (who’d trust palin with classified into?)
But you have to understand the hate for him there. It surpasses anyting a nazi did 60 years ago (and who are for the most part, dead) This has nothing to do with extradition..think drug cartels and massive corruption
hehehehe
Just recently this changed:

Why is George Will such a white racist pig? Is it because he’s white? No, many whites have moved past racism to a more color-neutral viewpoint in the last forty years… No excuses for racism these days, Mr. Will.
And by the way,
William Ayers was no “domestic terrorist.” This is just another lie perpetrated by McCain and Palin and their right-wing sound machine. William Ayers had been a peaceful anti-Vietnam war protestor in the late 1960s until he got so frustrated in his inability to stop the American terrorism against the Vietnamese people that he and others resorted to vandalism and property destruction as a form of protest. In Chicago, they blew up a statue (twice!). This was a statue dedicated to the policemen that had been active in the ongoing brutal suppression of union organizers in the Chicago area in 1866. This was vandalism and property destruction. No one, to my knowledge, was “terrorized.” Not the right-wingers who supported the war on Vietnam, nor the Congressmen who voted to fund the war. The U. S. war on the Vietnamese people continued on, unabated. I was an anti-Vietnam war protestor myself in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Anyone with a conscience was an anti-Vietnam war protestor back then.
However, John McCain was a terrorist in Vietnam. He bombed Vietnamese peasants in the northern part of Vietnam from 25,000 feet in the sky. It was a cowardly and vicious act. These bombings were war crimes and acts of terror.
Bush is the biggest terrorist in the 21st century, with his many acts of terror and aggression against the Afghani and Iraqi people. Bush has terrorized over one million Iraqis into their graves. Bush is a war criminal. McCain has been cheerleading and supporting Bush terrorism in Afghanistan and Iraq. McCain has even advocated using military terror against Iran, which his infamous “Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.”
Today William Ayers is respected education professor in the Chicago area. He was appointed to serve on the board of directors of the Woods Fund of Chicago, the same educational foundation board as Senator Barak Obama by William Annenberg, the former U. S. Ambassador to England, appointed by President Ronald Reagan.
Mr. Annenberg created the Annenberg Foundation, which sponsored the brilliant and innovative “French in Action” language learning series which has appeared on PBS television for many years. This is the same Annenberg Foundation also sponsors the current PBS television show, Washington Week in Review.
Yep. South America has swung very left (not all countries but increasingly it is happening)
Even though McCain said that he expected the Powell endorsement of Obama, some the media was caught off guard. MSNBC was interviewing a Wash. Times reporter who said he did not expect Powell to endorse Obama but if he did, it would be terrible for McCain. MSNBC then had Breaking News. lol
I guess Palin can only handle classified information, if Big Guy forbid, she gets elected VP. Of course then she also has to make up the information. From here in the once (pre-Harper) Great White North it appears that the Vice President is the actual Commander in Chief of the Universe.
It’s getting down to the short strokes in this race and McCain is going backwards.
I’m supporting Obama ’cause he’s so wicked smart!
Obama is a true leader!
The race card is now being played by the right even though Powell made it clear it was the political politics of terriorist/muslim attacks on Obama and the judgement during our financial crisis on McCain’s campaign.
http://rawstory.com/news/2008/….._1019.html
Here’s the rights excuse for losing Powell’s endorsement for their politics
http://blog.newsweek.com/blogs…..obama.aspx
George Will endorses Crazy John because they are both pigs, whose $700B pigpens are threatened.
Hey George Will, check out the photos of the St Louis Obama rally and then just shut the fuck up.
Someone will have to explain to me why this is surprising. This will be spun by the right as the black fella endorsing the black feller well, just because. Meaning that endorsements and votes for Obama by African-Americans are only 3/5 as good as those from whites. And round and round it goes. And it will be believed by the nitwits who still can’t make up their not-minds, just because.
Yep! We’re supporting him because he’s just like us! Smart. This is why Joe Biden said a little while ago the right wing of this country can’t relate to Barack Obama because Barack is intelligent. LOL So true!
The thing that gets me is how McGramps literally has drawn on the govt. teat his whole life.
His whole damn life.
And now, magically, being black is an advantage in national politics.
Ahh yes. Bachmann.
The gift that keeps on giving.
well, here’s something interesting… Check out the political contributions from news organizations. Scroll down a little to the box which says “Money Trail”….
Fox?
http://www.trendlines.ca/electusa.htm
Most of the people on the right can’t understand what he’s saying ,he uses such big words!!!
Yep! He uses big words the Red Party can’t understand:
PEACE
WINDFALL TAXES
TAX CUTS FOR 95% OF THE POPULATION
GEORGE BUSH SUCKS ASS
Bah hahahahahaha!
How Repugs de-legitimize Obama’s win…. lets count the ways….
-Acorn who registered every Disney and Toon-town character AND made sure they voted with proper ID
-Its because he is black and thats historic….
-Obama raised TOO much money
-Obama is a celebrity so it is the American Idol wave
-Them brown people came over the boarder to make sure that Obama won…. didn’t you know that old JD Hayworth’s line ……. that is why they cross our boarders to steal our elections
Are there any others?
.
My understanding is that when he was shot down, he was bombing a civilian power station near Hanoi, also a war crime. Perhaps McCain should paint himself as the environmentalists choice because he knows how to keep planes out of the sky (they use fossil fuel and pollute the upper atmosphere)- how many planes did he lose that weren’t getting shot at?
Obama just spoke to a crowd in Fayetteville, NC and said he was humbled to have the Powell endorsement. He also spoke about Powell towards the end of his speech.
Bachman runs her mouth her opponent takes in 500 grand in 24 hours.
Hate speech doesn’t pay!!
http://www.pbs.org/moyers/jour…..ript1.html
It is time to look at out tax system and remake the entire system over. And then campaigns won’t be about giving this group a sucker and that other group a bag of candy and the smallest richest group the entire box of goodies.
the most amusing thing about the rethug treatment of Ayers may be that a large number of pundits seem to infer that the very waspy Ayers is actually black (a black “terrorist” for Obama). rethugs almost never show his picture. It says everything one could possibly want to know about rethug psychology that they feel they have to put a white man in blackface to discredit a black man.
No shit….. hah!!!!
Ok I still don’t understand why everyone calls him black. Does he call himself black? I believe his mom was white and his dad was black. Doesn’t that make him either white or black or other depending on what he wants to be? I know we are not used to thinking about race this way, but isn’t he black and white at the same time?
He could call himself a flying purple people eater, I don’t care. I like his ideas more than McSame’s so I am voting for the best candidate in the race, Barack Obama.
All the talk about race is fomenting hate in a time when we can ill afford it. American’s need to work as one to get through this recession and war and get our country back on track.
Powell was eloquent in his endorsement. He is a conservative and even he doesn’t want two more conservative judges. What that says to me is he is a true moderate. I think on SCOTUS we need sensible people who know how the world works and subscribe to the ideals this country was founded on. The real ideals of all being created equal and that each person has a right to freedom of speech and expression. That our country does not take property without due process, nor do we illegally spy on our citizens or imprison indefinitely without due process.
I think in reality Powell is probably a lot closer to many Democrats. I think there is a whole group of what I would describe as true conservatives that really just don’t want the govt to spend wastefully. They are for equal rights and are not racist. If the Republicans stay as unhinged as John McCain has been in this election they are going to lose these people. True fiscal conservatives don’t care much about “moral” issues which really are a manifestation of “big daddy” Republicanism. They just want the spending to be in check, in the past Dems were successfully painted as big spenders. I don’t think this will happen anymore thanks to George Bush. Unless of course the Dems mess it all up, which is entirely possible.

More Republican fraud detailed in Lindsay’s new post
I still can’t get past the picture of George Will that Elmore put in my head….
it was an airport sighting at the gate waiting for a flight……. Elmore observed a man on his hands and knees cutting articles out of a newspaper …… rumpled shirt, pant cuffs threadbare and shoes with near holes ……..dandruff sprinkling all over the place as this man was scooting around the floor…….. and when he stood up, Elmore recognized who it was….. yep it was George Will….
I can’t listen to him past that image in my head…..
On George Step-and-Snouffleit’s show some were whining about the fact that Obama had so much money that he had already bought ALL the available air-time up to election day and maybe it was time to go back to the equal time – fairness doctrine for the media.
I couldn’t help but remember how pissed at themselves they were at the end of Ronnie Raygun’s (the God of the Golden Showers Economists) second term that they had passed the term limits Amendment to strike back at FDR and his legacy.
I can’t wait until they complain if Obama decides that Georgie Boy and Dickhead don’t have any right to habeas corpus, thanks to the urinary executive theories now law under the Bu$h Mob. If anybody is an enemy of the nation and fits the definition devised by the Bu$h Administration as not covered by the Geneva Conventions OR the Constitution it is a large number of the hopefully departing criminal organization now dominating the Executive Branch and the DOJ.
Payback is truly a bitch, but a sweet one!
You might want to rethink that statement. Hate speech does pay, obviously, for your opponent!
Wow!
Will has actually topped Malkin with that incomprehensible statement. Malkin said Powell endorsed Obama because Powell and Obama are both “Pro Abortion”. Well, maybe that’s tie goes to the runner. Both of them just totally suck. At least Malkin plays the part of a batshit crazy wingnut. Will is still trying to pass himself off as some sort of deep thinker.
Gooper national party raised 16mm more than the dems in sept- but Obama raised 150mm and McBush had to settle for his 84mm from Uncle Sam- for October- Obama may raise another 150mm and McBush will get zero additional from Uncle Sam…..
During the next two weeks, we will see if money matters in this race- if it does- this is all over.

Much of our problems started because the American gov taxed our money not only when we earned it but after we saved it.
Our government has taxed us to near death,(working people going bankrupt becasue of medical bills) new tax after new tax. Congress voted in new tax laws written by lobbyist and put into bills that were not even about the subject of the new tax.
We used to save money in bank accounts, bonds, CD’s. Then the gov said we want to tax those too. So companies come out with tax free retirement accounts that traded stocks, bonds, etc…, put your money here and we will tax it at a lower rate when you retire. Then they charged with outlandish fees for managing the accounts and outlandish taxes if we wanted to withdraw our money early, somethimes because we needed it to survive on. And they said put your savings/retirement money in stocks but they didn’t say those we trusted to hold our accounts would gamble it in ways we could never have thought of. 10 years ago many lost their money, savings and retirement account savings and now, along with all those job lost savings and retirement accounts. The stock market will never grow again like it did in the past. Many people will not put money in stocks like before. Many from our parents generation put their money under thier beds when the banks crashed in the banking crisis of the late 20’s early 30’s. I just read an article about the sales of home safety banks are on the rise. We did save money and I am tired of hearing we didn’t. But the past 8 years after gas went up and car companies (in bed with big oil) did not take producing electric cars seriously and we spent our savings this past 8 years on higher priced gas, higher priced heating oil, higher priced food, higher priced home insurance, higher priced gov required auto insurance. The ironic part is that many people will look at those quartly financial statements and not realize they gambled your money and lost it way before the market crashed.
Yes, it’s ok for Obama to look at our tax code and now is the time to push a complete overhaul of it. Let’s not get distracted by racism.
Powell words on Obama looking at our tax code:
http://edition.cnn.com/2008/PO…..ranscript/
There was a time, not that long ago, when I was learning about the American Revolution in elementary school in Michigan and California, that we viewed the earlier King George (not Bu$h the Lesser) with disdain for his use of mercenaries (the evil Hessians) against George the Good’s (Washington) troops. But it has really become a BIG part of what we do! (Blackwater, Halliburton etc.)
he does refer to/identify himself as black
McCains snide comment on Fox of all places, “we know the reasons”, is just another hidden message to inflame.
The real problem? After seeing the secret service playing dumb, and trooper and cops on the stage – in uniform – mocking Obama, who’s really looking out for his safety??
“he does refer to/identify himself as black”
Old legalized/codified racism dies hard! What were the old rules in the segregated south – you were officially a “Negro” if you were what was it….1/16 black by ancestry, unless you could “pass?” Remember all the old terms, creole, quadroon etc. but unless there was no black blood in the family tree x generations back, you were still a “Negro” even if you had blue eyes and light skin, unless as I said, you could pass!
New looseheadprop a couple of flights upstairs
Thanks BT.
” And I think this adds to my calculation — this is very hard to measure — but it seems to me if we had the tools to measure…”
But we do have the “tools” to measure, George…those “tools” are pundits like you….
Or perhaps they are “stools” to measure…and it stinks.
Will said that? Hmmm. Whitey-white white FRIGHT.
Probably 15,000…with more outside turned away. Seating capacity in the arena was 10K, plus probably another 5K on the floor and in the aisles or in the halls. I have no idea how many people were outside, though.
Yes, Powell endorsed Obama because he is black, why would that be a racist statement? It is not! Any racism has always been made by Obama himself. Shame on Americans for voting for a Socialist
Obama is a socialist, whose right is being denied when he takes from one to give to another, I worked for my money, others should do the same. Did you ever get a job from a poor man? Why is it that socialism has never worked? It is an evil proposition, ever hear of Alexander Solzhenitsyn the Russian dissenter of socialism who spent yrs in prison for speaking against such a program? become educated Americans
Dumb Voters: Howard Stern asked some potential voters in Harlem if they agreed with Obama’s policies, I mean McCain’s policies. Well I guess it doesn’t matter who’s policies they are: http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/999596/
You can’t watch this and realize why 95% of blacks are backing Obama.
Somewhat OT, but wasn’t Sarah Palin “palling around” with Celebrities last night? And they’re kinda like terrorists, right?
so george will and i are klan members due to us supporting mccain. intersting!. its ok though for blacks to say we are supporting a brother. sounds racist to me. but then again, there are dble standards regarding whites supoorting white and blacks supporting blacks. and the black leaders wonder why, more whites dont support black. its not racism at all. i would love to have seen condi rice as pres or vp canidate. digest this and label as u will, but, like i experienced one CHRISTMAS morn, the present i asked for wasnt exactly what i got.
oh yes, please feel free to critque my typos, sentence structure and al lthe otehr things that are done when some one disagrees with ur comment and cant offer anyy facts to refute.
Why do I hear dueling banjos when I read this comment?
Can you beleive what George Wills just said? The racists republican can hardly contain him self he is so angry.He critized McCain in a column a while back, but was willing to support him anyway because he is a republican, knowing well McCain is not the right one for the predency, but he would except that because he is white and a republican. Not because of what he would be able to do for the country, if anything, but because he was right.But he says Colin Powell endorsed Obama because Powell is black and OBAMA is black. That is the new talking points for the Repubdogs. Just watch where it will go from here. These racist dogs are so harmful to our country. They all should be banished, and taught a lesson.
Hey George Will, perhaps the General is still a little peeved that he was used to start an immoral and unjustified war of preemption.
With out the endorsement of General the war may not have happened … to his everlasting shame.
Amazing. The “R” in Republican stands for racist? Maybe you need to re-read your history books. It was the north that liberated the slaves “Republicans”. Abraham Lincoln “a Republican” who freed the slaves. So I guess the “D” in Democrat stands for dumbass. Its your fellow Democrats that have the staunch pro slavery views. The Democrats who bought, sold and traded the slaves.
If you actually listened to what Powell had to say. He favored McCain just as much in his short speah if not more than he did Obama. But he said the reason he was going to vote for Obama is that “I think America needs a younger Gneration in the White House to move the country forward”.
Is Powell actually voting for Obama because of his color? Who knows. But find me 1 African American who wouldnt like to see a black man in the White House. The same holds true with Hilary but instead woman wanted to see one of their own in the White House.
You cant fault Powell for it. However, this country needs to get past the color of each others skin and start seeing each other for who and what we are.
That’s true. The South was dominated by conservative Democrats for years — until Lyndon Johnson signed all those civil rights laws. Then it all switched to GOP, and it remains solidly GOP.
In fact, the former Confederate states are the only place the GOP remains viable.
Why is that?
Do you honestly believe that Powell would endorse any Democrat if he wasn’t black? Honestly?
Do you honestly think that Powell would be endorsing a Democrat if he wasn’t black?
Do you really think Powell would endorse a Democrat if he wasn’t Black?
I guess that means that the only reason Henry Kissinger, James A. Baker III, Lawrence Eagleburger and Alexander Haig endorsed John McCain is that they are white.
And the biggest slave traders in America were from CT. South Carolina voted for Obama as well as Jessie Jackson. So your argument is mute. Reminds me of when Kanye called bush a racist. Saying he doesnt care about black people.
If something goes wrong or happens that another doesnt like, they’re always too eagier to pull the race card. Wasnt it Obama who pulled the race card with the Clintons?
I was an Obama supporter until I read his books. Now with the Collin Powell endorsement I can see what is really going on here. I agree that their is Racism, the question is: “Who are the Racist’s” ….
Below are a few lines from Obama’s books; In his words!
From Dreams of My Father: ‘I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.’
From Dreams of My Father : ‘I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother’s race.’
>From Dreams of My Father: ‘There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.’
& nbsp;From Dreams of My Father: ‘It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.’
From Dreams of My Father: ‘I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn’t speak to my own. It was into my father’s image, the black man, son of Africa, that I’d packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.’
And FINALLY the Most Damming one of ALL of them!!!
From Audacity of Hope: ‘I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.’
Yes. Colin Powell is an intelligent man who made a decision to do something that he wanted to do. He may have done the same thing if the candidate had been white. Blacks have been supporting whites for a long time and nothing was ever made of that.
Oh, please! Give us a F’ing break!
To say Colin Powell endorses Obama because he’s black is like saying white people don’t endorses him because he’s black. Every President, let me say that again, EVERY PRESIDENT! that myself and Colin Powell has ever voted for has been white, So we have a track record of supporting white men. What is your record of voting. To say it’s a black thing is like saying if Flava Flav ran for president all black people would vote for him, do white people really think we are that stupid, let me answer that. Some of you do.
lincoln didn’t free slaves because he was against slavery, it was the quickest way to win the civil war.
95% of blacks are endorsing Obama because we have been endorsing whites for years. How many blacks have you endorsed. We have a proven track record, do you, I think not.
FactCheck
Well Colin I hope you are very proud of yourself. I really respected you and what you have done for my country, but now I have NO RESPECT for you at all. I had wanted you to run and become President of the United States, but now I would NEVER support that. You were such a smart man and I thought you LOVED the United States of America, boy I got that wrong. Do you realize you are backing a man who has NO experience in Government, who supports abortion, but worse than that supports partial-birth abortion, which is MURDER. You are supporting a man sho has no experience in Government reform, energy or oil, the war and our Military, the economy crisis among other things. You are supporting a man who is supposedly a citizen of The United States of America, but he can’t place his hand over his heart while saying the Pledge of allegiance or during The National Anthem. What kind of American is he? We all know this is not about Obama’s lack of experience, his beliefs or what kind of American he is or ISN’T. This has EVERYTHING to do with the fact that he is 1/2 african-american. That is what this whole election is all about. The african-american people want so bad to have an african-american person as president they completely don’t care about what really counts and they don’t care ANYTHING about the person, their beliefs and the issues. The african-american people worked soooooo hard to become registared voters and this is what happens. ATTENTION: AMERICAN REGISTARED VOTERS: If you can’t go to the polls and make WISE AND SMART votes, don’t go at all. We don’t want your vote. Again, Colin Powell, I am VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED IN YOU! I thought better of you.
Why does Colin Powell hate America?
Another response to damsel73:
1. Gen. Powell could only have endorsed a white or a black. The endorsement was a complex choice backed up by detailed and meaningful reasons that he discussed at length, it was not a simple black/white issue as you say. The differences between the candidates are vast regardless of their respective parentage. You don’t respect Powell if you think his decision was based solely on race. Notwithstanding the fact that Barack’s mother was a white girl, why didn’t General Powell ever endorse Jesse Jackson if race is such an overriding issue with him?
2. Obama has made no racist remarks, except that some have characterized what he said when he said that his opponents would try to say he was “different”, as a racist comment. No. That was just the truth, wasn’t it!
3. About socialism. Any tax is socialist. Any tax subsidy is socialist (Chrysler, banks, financial institutions, credit guarantees). After the recent crash, at first Bush wanted massive federal intrusion into markets without any congressional oversight! That’s the worst kind of socialism when it’s not subject to any public oversight. That’s the kind of socialism that resembles dictatorship. The question shouldn’t be whether socialism (law) is bad, but how much socialism (law) do we want to have? Where do we want to have laws, what kinds of laws and how will they be constructed and administered? Not having any law is the same as anarchy. Socialism is how we became civilized and it is how we remain civilized. Every government is socialist to a degree, but different segments of society wield power in different governments. Historically it is the land owners and owners of the most resources that rule how we socialize. In the USA we have experiented with other channels to power but remain subject to much of the control that the owners of resources have – and this is unfair when resources are owned by a few. Concentrated markets practice economic unfairness and do not operate as perfectly competitive markets should. Adam Smith wrote in 1776 in The Wealth of Nations, that a perfectly competitive market had to be comprised of many producers and many consumers, none of which would wield any market power by itself.
In the USA, Some taxes are good and some are bad. Some laws are good and some are bad. That’s what makes the form that government takes and important issue. As General Powell said, taxes always redistribute wealth. Nowadays the wealth is being redistributed to banks and financial institutions and weapons manufacturers and mercenaries and other military contractors. Helping small businesses and spending money on education is downplayed by the right wing in favor of helping the same mega-corporations that have messed up our markets, our industrial base, our politics and gotten us into this mess of an economy that we’re in. The neocon Republican government thinks that killing people is a better investment in the future than educating them. They think that a few big companies is better than many human scale ones and they’ll fight to keep the mega-corporations afloat. They won’t just let them die even if the market is trying to kill them.
Trickle down doesn’t work. Companies hire and produce in response to demand. Consumers empowered with more money are what create commerce and the related jobs. Too often, a company that is flush with cash just uses that to move to where it can pay its employees less. That’s not very community-minded of them. As a representative of the Obama campaign said, it’s typical of Republican attacks to characterize a middle class tax cut as “socialist”.
It makes good economic sense and good political sense and good social sense. Helping the middle class will increase pluralism. That will make our markets work better. That will make our markets more stable and more community oriented. That will create more satisfaction in our economy. That will reduce the scale of mistakes. That will put more people in charge. That will increase experimentation. That will accellerate learning in our economy. That will make changes more incremental and less destabilizing. Central control by a few corporations is not much better than central control by a government.
So yes, socialism is good, but it can also be bad. It all boils down to what kind of government we want to have. One of the people or one of the wealthy and the corporations. Do we want to be serfs living under the corporations or the lords of our own small enterprises? I think we’re heading in the right direction with an Obama presidency and I have a lot of hope right now for the future of our whole country.
I normally don’t agree with Will. But this time, he is RIGHT. If Colin Powell were white, who would give a damn about him? Powell is the same man who helped send us to war. He could have resigned, which would have destroyed the entire PR movement for Iraq, but he chose not to on his own free will. He’s a hack. Powell is the quintessential “magical negro” of our time. Would Powell be endorsing Hillary Clinton, Mark Warner, John Edwards, or Chris Dodd? All of whom have no military experience as Barack Obama?
And I too, a life-long Congregational UCC church goer, will stand with the muslims if they are subjected to hate and vilification. The Congregationals separatists came to this continent in 1492 to find liberty to establish their own relationships to God, without interference by a Pope or a king.
I too would think about the implications of my race if I were black, and do so as a white as well. There is nothing wrong with a thoughtful, intelligent man thinking about these things.
I hope you can get past your hate so you can enjoy the good years that are coming. My hope is that this is a new Golden Age for America. Do you hope for that or do you hope for failure and division and hate? I hope for you.
Er, preachin’ to the choir, Wes.
George Will is the typical Ring wing conservative racist that keeps racism alive. Pathetic man! Colin Powell evaluated who would be more the more approrpiate candidate to be the commander in chief. Would he be saying ANYTHING had Colin Powell selected McCain to be endorsed-NO. Colin Powell could well have endorsed Obama long ago had he wanted to, yet he acknowledged Obama would be more efficient especially relating to the generation, afterall McCain IS 72 years old (watch his mannerisms and forgetfullness as he campaigns and debates). Obama will be a “breath of fresh air” afterall he couldn’t do worse than George W. Bush has done! (P.s. I am Caucasian, Democrat and despise racism.
Yea. Thanks. I like this place. It felt good to rant just a bit.
*error: I meant right wing, guess I got caught up in the moment. Furthermore Powell can’t be siding with Obama just because he is “negro” as he isn’t, he is Mulatto (he had a Caucasian Mother remember). Powell specifically acknowledged his motives for endorsing Obama….none of those reasons happen to be “because he is Black”-I would think Powell is more classier than that, as he displayed. For whatever reason, racism rears it’s ugly head to show it’s very much alive!
HeHe. I think you got me started Wes. Your comment lit my fire. Them DAMN racists!
ask him-instead of assuming such. Pretty shallow statement. Wouldn’t it be more diplomatic and educated had you ignored the racist remarks insulting a Black OR Caucasian man Or woman?
What would the conversation be if Colin Powell had endorsed McCain…that he was an uncle tom? As per George Will’s point he is illistrating a dynamic in this election that will be at play. There are a large group of people who will vote one way or the other on the basis of race. Illustrating this doesn’t make you racist.
And democrats should remember that if Obama loses it will be due to racist democrats who supported Hillary and won’t vote for Obama because he is black. Racists republicans don’t matter since they wouldn’t vote for him anyway.
For the record i am a republican who is voting for Obama because i won’t pull the lever for McCain. He’s run a terrible campaign and has a terrible temperment that is dangerous in the oval office. And it was George Will wrote several weeks ago that you can take an inexperienced Obama and put him in the presidency and with the right people around him..can grow into a sucessful president…while you can’t someone with a fly off the handle personality and change it.
The (un)funny irony is….Palin was the first to state “Obama is a celebrity like Britney Spears”…and then who appears on Saturday night Live (gathering celebrity & media attention)? Republican Hypocrites!!!
I used to have some respect for Mr. Will,but I guess I never really took a good look at him.Even though he is an conservative republican,I always liked to hear some of his views,no matter how unitelligent. I watched his show each week.But now, after that ridiculously racist statement he made that said General Colin Powell is supporting Senator Barak Obama,because he is black,I lost all respect. I never hear anything about whom black people votes for as long as they vote white.Black people have been voting for white people since the begining of this country,with most their choices only being white.Now we have some black candidates and when we vote for one of them,it is because they are black,even though we have determined that they were the better candidate(Vote white and you are right,Vote black and you are off track
Whenever I have decided whether Tom Brokaw or George Will is the more sanctimonious, self-important windbag, the other guy blows and pulls ahead.
I know what you guys mean this is a ridiculous statement. Barack Obama isn’t even black. He is 50% white, 43.75% arab, and 6.25% black. In America you need to be 12.5% of one minority to be classified as that minority. Powell endorsed the first arab presidential canidate, duh!
Black democratic voting turnout is very important. Even though the polls have Obama ahead, those things can change with the close of a voting curtain. Remember that as long as Barack is black and McCain is white, then McCain has a chance. It is not very hard to change your mind once those curtains close regardless of what you may have told those poll takers. White folks may like Obama and may not even be predjudice but that doesn’t mean that they want a black president. Even if he is the best choice.
WOW
To understand George’s Will comment, you have to understand the history of neoconservatism in this country. Which is invested in the justification of ignorance that is so rampart in the world. And ignorance ain’t bless. Although the christian population think it is.
I think Colin Powell is the first person to publicly state that she is not qualified to become president. This message, I think, is much more important than his endorsement of Obama. His endorsement, I think, was natural and sensible thing to do.
As a Black man, born in this country, the paradigm shift I think is happening by Obama’s candidacy for president, represents a cesspool cleansing that is needed for all of us to respect each other. Is that so hard? I think he is a symbol of this cleansing, striving for homeostasis in a dysfunctional society.
This country need to come to the reality that there is a balance needed to correct the uneveness of the emotional evils of oppressors vs the oppress Which I think most of White America is having trouble letting this go. I believe men of color Because White America is a cultural of privilege. The hidden institutionalized investment.
I think it is a normal order of dignity for all human Americans to want peace and prosperity instead of greed. Look at what greed has cost this country. A lost gambled with our taxes. My taxes for 2007 was over $2,000.00. I am willing to bet that the gambling casinos have not lost a penny.
I hate to drive this into the ground but,. “Why can’t we all just get along.”
peace,
Bartholomew
jejeje I think this place is moderated, so that only the comments that are ok with the site owners and to their political agenda will be posted, it’s pathetic!!!
Bart,
Are you serious, first off he isn’t black (prevoius post 132)”OMG” I know another falsehood about his past, second the only cleansing involving Obama that has happened was in Kenya where the Muslim Odinga killed 1500 people after his failed campaign. Oh yeah Obama along with Kadafi campaigned for him in 2006. After he lost he killed 1500 people and induced muslim(sharia/spelling?) law. Obama and Kadafi raised about 2 million for him.
First you cant trust a man who wears a bad rug. Second, its just possible that Powell chose Obama because he is the best candidate for the job. He isnt emotional, old, angry, think he DESERVES THE POSITION, or a dubya water carrier. McStain cant decide an ANY plan. He has changed his personal values and ideas to get the brass ring. He isnt going to get it. You cant use hate as a campaign slogan and get respect. McStain doesnt deserve respect anymore. He deserves a diaper change, a bottle and a NAP.
Mr. will, what do you call a black person that supports McCain?….an Uncle Tom maybe. You should have included that in the sh*#@it coming out of your mouth. But here’s another answer Gen. Powell could have given.
Just because He’s Black!!!
A white man asked his black friend, ‘Are you voting for Barack Obama
just
because he’s black’? The black man responded by saying, why not? Hell,
in
this country men are pulled over everyday just because they’re black,
passed
over for promotions just because they’re black, considered to be
criminals
just because they’re black, and there are going to be thousands of you
who
won’t be voting for him just because he’s black! However, you do not
seem to
have a problem with that!
This country was built with the whip and sweat off the slaves back, and
now
a descendent of those same slaves has a chance to lead the same
country,
where we weren’t even considered to be people, Where we weren’t allowed
to
be educated, drink from the same water fountains, eat in the same
restaurants, or even vote, so yes, I’m going to vote for him!
But it’s not just because he’s black, but because he is hope, he is
change,
and he now allows me to understand when my grandson says he wants to be
president when he grows up, it is not a fairy tale but a short term
goal.
Because he sees, understands, and knows, he can achieve, withstand, and
do
anything just because he’s black!
Amen to that!
To be clear:
It’s perfectly fine to point out that some whites won’t vote for Obama because he’s black.
However, it’s racist to point out that some whites are voting for Obama mainly because he’s black.
Translation: the unwashed ignorant masses can be racist, but the elite intellectual left is above it all.
Idiot, he is not a descendant of slaves.
[Mod Note; please make your point without insulting other commenters or your comments will be removed from the thread.]
No it’s not racist of whites to support McCain but didn’t you here the reasons why Powell is supporting Obama. It had nothing to do with race. If you listened to what he said. If McCain were black and Obama was white Powell would be supporting he would be supporting the white guy. Because of the message not the color. The people who say that Mr. Will is a racist because he supports McCain are wrong….but they may be right regarding his views. That I don’t know so I will not call him that until I see evidence of it. Be fair…what Powell said about the V.P. candidates was enough for me to understand it had nothing to do with race. I mean the women has two years of community college under her belt as part of her college degree. That’s OK for you and me but not the VP or heaven forbid the Presidency of the U.S.
Really have you checked the education records of some of the great leaders of the past, you might be suprised at what you find. Look Obama is very educated and he knows plenty well to keep his true marxist self hidden but he still let it slip out.
And what precisely is marxist about Obama?
Spread the wealth, are you serious. Manifesto 101.
I see that you were the only person on this whole site warned about your inappropriate response but let me inform you “my friend” every black man in America is a descendant, married to a women who is or lives under the ills and history of what slavery has caused in this country. Even though his father was born in Africa the same thing applies to Obama as it does if his father was born in any city in the United States. The meaning behind and in the message was what you were suppose to take from it. Not that He’s not a descendant of slaves. Hopefully you’ll see the point now!!!
Sorry first time blogging. You actually miss the entire point he is not black. As far as calling him an African-American well that is the same as the same as calling a dutch descendant who comes from Africa an African-American.
no matter who we vote into the White House were still screwed. Neither candidate deserves to be the nominee of either party. The fact that my country doesnt have anyone better to offer saddens me. Our polticians have failed us and we congratulate them by voting the same fools that got us into this mess into the most powerful position in the world.
Wake up people.
Hurling insults at commenters will subject your comment to moderation.
Powell has always been weak. Sure he was a General, not the same as being a political hack.
Powell chose to go to the UN, although the information he briefed was TRUE, but it was clear he could not and cannot take pressure. Anyhow, there is little doubt he is backing osama, I mean obama because he is ‘black’ in skin tone, but he is NOT AFRICAN AMERICAN. Wake up America. Do your homework and understand the Muslim faith. At any point obama was born to an ARAB. That is fact and it is time Americans admit that fact. Obama was NEVER poor either. Time Americans understand that as well.
No one wants to touch obama as just like davidaquarias individuals prefer to push the race card. It is old and really repulsive!
Most Americans dont have a mere understanding of the issues and instead of doing the research they prefer to grab a line here and there and repeat it. That makes it ‘justified’. Please….wake up Americans!!!!
Obama is dangerous and just his ties alone show this. But dig deeper into his ties to Kenya. Hmmm, maybe then you will open your eyes.
Comrades, at last we are on the verge of eliminating the Republican Party once and for all. What an exciting time it is for all of us. The Republican Buffoons have already nationalized banking for us. Now we can take over health care and soon we’ll run all of the businesses in the country and put the corporate scum where it belongs. We deserve Bill Gates money not him. Let’s take Warren Buffet’s money too. Who needs small businesses either. They’re all greedy little Bush clones without a care for us. We’ll tax them out of existence. Our government with Barrack Obama at the helm knows what is best for us all. Finally, the government will take care of us all. Power to the People!
I think we can all agree that race is the single most influential factor of this campaign, for example let’s be fair and take a closer look at some of the people who will be the biggest factor in this election:
http://blogs4mccain.com/2008/1…..em-voters/
This is a great piece on how it can be on both sides. These so called Obama supporters really think that Sarah Palin is Obama’s running mate, this is great!!!!!!!

Trickle up economics is the funniest thing I’ve ever heard. Let’s take the money from successful people and give (post filtered through the goverment) to people who haven’t earned it and can’t manage there own money and we’ll be better off. Awesome.
Once again the Republicans resort to racist tactics. It is a shame because Colin Powell has served his country honorably and this is how the Republicans show their lack of respect. The Colin Powell made a hard decision based upon facts and The horrible way the Mccain Campaign has acted. I guess as long as you go all the way with the Republicans you are considered “Anti-American”, even if you risked your life for the country. Goes to show how extreme and out of date the Republican party has become.
Anything coming out of GIULIANI, MCCAIN and the rest of the ROBOTIC RNC mouths is not worth the shit from a constipated BULL. These two men have ..how many wives between themselves? If anything that needed to be cleared up is for McCain to come truthful with the American people in his decision to leave his “ONLY LIVING WIFE” and married Cindy! They want Obama to lay all his cards on the table about EVERYTHING – EVERYONE he has had contacts with during his life…now I think it is time for “non-moral” McCain to do the same thing! One last question – do you think he will leave Ms. Cindy if she became cripple and deformed, then start seeking another perfect “WIFE”? RIGHT!!!!
…. OMG, YOU WOULD PREFER TO HAVE A WHORE-MONGER IN THE WHITE WITH TWO WIVES THAN A ONE WOMAN MAN? I…SEE.. ALL “MORAL” MAJORITIES STICK TOGETHER…HEMMMM TOGETHER.
~~~ModNote: All caps is difficult to read and is considered shouting. Please release your caps-lock key.~~~
Shame on any rigidly closed minded individual who would rather see the US sink further into the abyss rather than admit Mr. Obama is the “better” overall candidate!
It should NOT matter that he is African-American. He has proven himself not only to be well educated, competent and articulate but he more often than his opponent continues to carry himself with apparent integrity and honor.
If any of you really want to know more about Senator Obama’s associations with those McCain has called “questionable” go to: http://factcheck.org/ and take the time to READ for YOURSELVES what is what.
Don’t let your fear dictate who you cast your vote for. Each vote is very important. This Nov. 4th requires that brave conscientious citizens show up in unprecedented numbers to support the candidate they feel will truly represent our overall best interest and not merely for someone who in a few short months will cause us shame when uttering their name.
We all have a responsibility to overlook those things that may make us uncomfortable and instead choose to come together and show the world that we are a dominant force to be dealt with for a reason. However, we can’t do that without maintaining some form of credibility and presently we are in very short supply.
It is no one person’s fault that their mother and father came together to have them. There should be no penalty for being born. Please don’t punish the collective because of someone’s hue.
It’s not too late to do the RIGHT THING FOR AMERICA.
hi quin – welcome to the lake – i don’t recall seeing a comment from you before – and if my memory is faulty please accept my apology in advance.
looking foward to what else you have to say.
McCain has taken ownership and full blame as to why his first marriage fell apart. His first wife also did in this news article. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/…..tml?page=2
Unlike Obama, McCains life has been an open book. Everytime someone has questioned his honor and conduct he has spoken openly about it until there were no more questions to be had. Obama has not.
Besides the same foolish rhetoric you hear Obama speak daily what do you really know about the man?
Bottom line liberals if Obama wins you lose, because without a Republican in office who can you blame when everything goes wrong? In 2006 you guys took over and are we better off? Everything that has transpired recently is you guys, if you want to be honest. Who set up Fannie and Freddie? Who pushed for these loans? Who fought against regulating them? Who raised minimum wage? You believe Obama being elected will be the end of the Republican party, but it will be just the opposite.
Thank you for the welcome Suzanne. I may not post anything else but I thought it worth it to say something on this particular topic. Have a good one.
Watch this and tell us who’s “stupid” and who’s voting entirely because of color, not principles or values that should transcend color:
http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/999596/
That’s what we need – find out who Howard Stern polled so we can select a President.
And we got it the first time you posted it.
There are many black Americans that I would vote for and support if they were running for office, among them: Thomas Sowell, Larry Elder, Michael Steele, Armstrong Williams and Star Parker. Find their articles at http://townhall.com/columnists…..Columnists
Read their articles and you’ll find out why Obama is no good for black, white or any color America.
Mr Will, are you not voting for Obama because he’s black?
The question of race looms larger with the White pseudo-Christian racist bigots, than it does with decent intelligent people.
Hitler thought non-whites and mentally retarded people should be put to death. What do you think of that idea?
Firedoglakers: George Will fathered an “autistic child”, a term created by liberal compassionate people to describe what George, probably in his youth, called “a fucking retard”.
While no doubt recognizing the mental incapacity of his child, it is a shame that Will does not recognize his own.
And before he dies Will better pray that his child winds up with a compassionate liberal care-giver, because I shudder to think how he would fare in the hands of avaricious evil people like George Will.
Just a little hypocrisy in the air these days ? Non whites seem to be able say anything they want. Unless they go to far like Farakhan and ”white devils” or Judiasm, per Farakhan ”a gutter religion” comments or Jesse Jackson comments again about Jews. And where Jackson gets a mulligan, a non minority would see their public career disappear. Back to Colin Powell, at least his son is backing the right horse.
Fucking retarded. If this wasn’t about race, then, Obama wouldn’t be only concerned with the black voters’ quotas of registered vs. unregistered voters. I don’t see him advertising on the Spanish Channel, trying to get their votes…or the Home and garden channel trying that, either. Point is…we are at WAR, people. With MUSLIMS. What is Obama’s religious background??? MUSLIM. If you want to know where all thos “unaccounted” for campaign contributions came for, you probably will never know, because terrorists won’t want the American people knowing they are putting one of their own in OUR office! Go ahead…vote your enemy into office to control YOUR country if you want to. I’m a Republican…and last I chcked, that stood for “for the people.” Democrat means “let the government control everything.” This is what your race for presidence SHOULD be about…not making skin color history. Get your heads out of your asses, people.
Here’s your FACT CHECK…This is what I pulled off of the site :
Who is Barack Obama? A man with “a political baptism performed at warp speed.” Vast ambition. After college, he moved to Chicago. Became a community organizer. There, Obama met Madeleine Talbot, part of the Chicago branch of ACORN. He was so impressive that he was asked to train the ACORN staff.
What did ACORN in Chicago engage in? Bullying banks. Intimidation tactics. Disruption of business. ACORN forced banks to issue risky home loans. The same types of loans that caused the financial crisis we’re in today.
No wonder Obama’s campaign is trying to distance him from the group, saying, “Barack Obama Never Organized with ACORN.” But Obama’s ties to ACORN run long and deep. He taught classes for ACORN. They even endorsed him for President.
But now ACORN is in trouble.
Reporter: There are at least 11 investigations across the country involving thousands of potentially fraudulent ACORN forms.
Announcer: Massive voter fraud. And the Obama campaign paid more than $800,000 to an ACORN front for get out the vote efforts.
Pressuring banks to issue risky loans. Nationwide voter fraud. Barack Obama. Bad judgment. Blind ambition. Too risky for America.
It appears Obama is a dirty politician, no matter how much he tries to sugar coat things. You will all see in due time if he is voted into office. Just wait.
I don’t see color here. I see Powell in the same light as Judith Miller ex writer for the NYTimes.Shills for Bush/Cheney and the Iraq invasion.She is paying the price but she just got hired by Fox.Obama would be better off without the brother.Let him pay the price.
Jack Shadenfruede
Obama shouldnt be allowed to run in the first place.
Listen to your fellow Dem say why that is.
I like Obama am of a mixed race but thats where it ends,I am American Indian and white and I hate that race keeps coming to play when so much more is to look at here such as the fact this man came almost out of no where with little experience!! And more scary is we still dont even know if he was really born here! Now Im no bible thumper or Republican but i do know this much,MCcain is the lesser of 2 evils and he is no Bush as the democratic’s try so hard to drill in Americans hearts and minds!!I also feel fully that some of the money being raised for Obama is coming from our very enemies that wish to see our end!They like many Americans are so attracted to this Messiah like being that some are even clling him that,Scary cause im not a bible person but i do know this much,the bible warns of this!!I want to believe that in the end the American people will not be decieved on election day that in the end they will choose experience and a proven background over a Man coming out of no where,with ties to our very own enemies and its been proven yet he so eloquently Lies and lies more,all the while mass amounts of human beings just keep buying the lies all because we are being fed by the media and large amounts of campaign money that its ok to over look the lies and the ties he really has because “he is gonna bring Change” Please people wake up and protect not only yourselves but your family and there family!! Im sure this what im writing will bring plenty of bad words to me but if it wakes up half the voters its worth it all!!!
So George Will believes every single White Person is racist?
What an ignorant fool!
It is a sign of lazy thinking to lump all Mexicans together as being identical, all Japanese together as identical, or any group of people as being identical.
Having voted 5 times for Republican candidates for President, I hope George Will says that Every Republican should vote for Obama because as a believer in Fiscally Responsible government, I have already sent in my Ballot registering my vote for Obama!
(The only time America has had a balanced budget since the Carter Administration was under Democrat Bill Clinton. Every Republican President since Reagan was a Borrow-and-Spend Republican!)
I would like John McCain to address why he refuses to allow his POW records to be released.
During his POW days, McCain regularly collaborated with the Communists to help the Communists murder American fliers.
But the extent of his collaboration and granting assistance to the enemy remains a mystery to the American people so long as McCain, exercising his rights under the ‘McCain Act’, refuses to permit his records to be released.
Only by reviewing his POW records will show America if John McCain is a Traitor that gives aid and comfort to the Communists, or if wrecking 5 airplanes during his military service makes him a war hero.
Here are a couple links to stories debunking the myth that Senator McCain (R-Arizona) votes to support our troops with his votes in the US Senate.
Who supports American Troops by voting for bills to help our Troops and Vets in the US Senate?
Ask the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, Disabled Veterans of America, Vietnam Veterans of America, American Legion, Vote Vets, or the national commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the unanimous answer is –
Senator Barack Obama (D-Illinois), of course!
