Good morning, pups. It’s Dowd, Friedman, Kristof and Rich today. Wow! MoDo is really, really mad today. I guess she didn’t like her quarterly 401k statement. Today she presents us with “After W., Le Deluge,” in which she says in this season of darkness, as Charles Dickens described an earlier mob scene, she’s feeling as vengeful and bloodthirsty as Madame Defarge sharpening her knitting needles at the guillotine. Mr. Friedman writes about “The Great Iceland Meltdown,” and says globalization giveth. Globalization taketh away. And now, we have to hope, that globalization will saveth. Mr. Kristof discusses “The Downturn’s Upside,” and says the economic misery is numbingly real, but it’s also true that a downturn isn’t uniformly bad and might even be good for you. Mr. Rich says “He Just Can’t Quit W,” and that it’s not just the economy. And it’s not just President Bush. John McCain is to blame for his own campaign’s disastrous course.

http://mgpaquin.wordpress.com/

The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready. I’m declaring it hot chocolate weather because it’s below 50 here and below freezing in Vermont. I’ve got a French toast casserole this morning, with pecans added. Have a grand day.

You may have a point especially after what happened to Kathleen Parker and Buckley. He did not want to run for political office to protect his wife.

I’m uneasy about Powell’s MTP interview this morning. It’s been apparent that he supports Obama for some time, but will he have the courage to announce it proudly? His phone must have been ringing off the hook with various concerns about his intentions, so we will see what happens.

I don’t doubt that one has been chewed over before.

Mainstream action movies are also illustrative.
