Good evening Yacht Owners here at the AIG regatta. It has been a stressful evening planning for my next cruise through the South Pacific Islands. It was so hard on me giving up the Caribbean Islands itinerary. Do wish I could take all of you unemployed blokes on the cruise of a lifetime as we race through a following sea breaking record after record to win our next trophy. Be looking for you all out on the briny.
Tomorrow will be dedicated to hiring a crew of Nubian slaves as it is beneath our dignity to do that polish, scraping and painting maintenance which will be assigned as part of the ships discipline. The last crew chidingly referred to me as Captain Blye. That will not be tolerated.
All of us yachting friends here at the Lake want to thank American taxpayers for their generosity in bailing us bankers out. I know it was a tough call considering the poverty that America faces now so we are off to chase the American dream of opulence and excess. See you suckers later.
Bon Voyage!
Ian put up one of the alltime funniest videos of Obama roasting McInsane at the Alfred Smith dinner tonight.
Obama was very funny as he whipped McSames but throughout the speech. Mc Same was painfully laughing as well. It was a very fine dressing out. I have to say Mr. Obama comes of more and more presidential avery day. That was an academy award performance.
Thankfully I am nicely employed ….. just watching the local news…..
And it looks that the local news is putting some facts on the table….. all about Joe the so called plumber……
Sheriff Joe has pissed one local TeeVee station over an in depth report on the death of an inmate at the jail…… funny how the report and the video just don’t match…. the sheriff’s office is pulling a McCain on the media……
CT… I am using my email spell check before I put up comments mostly to clean up spelling errors so I can come up to the FDL standard.
Suzanne…after year in the canyon of Bear Creek and the tight quarters…the open space at the mouth of an Oregon River with all the wild life and open sky has to be very healing. Time to join Audobon and the rest of the nature societies to help protect them. Being on the Pacific flyway is a special experience. There is a lot of wonderful creatures in the waters as well. Sort of your “On Golden Pond” as you grow older and senile. G)

Hey dosido…I read that speech as the dhot across the bow “I am not about to take any bullshit so if you dish it out it will land right back at you”.
I also see him working for his agenda to pick up some heavy hitters tonight. At the same time he was very gracious which plays big with the elite that have the purse strings.
“At Nellis Air Force Base, military officials had some explaining to do Wednesday afternoon,” explained KVCU TV’s News 3 in Nevada. “… A dummy bomb fell from one of their jets and hit a truck below.”
“‘Shortly after 11:30am Wednesday morning, Nellis security forces and Las Vegas Metro Police responded to a report of an object falling from the sky,’ says Brig. General Russell Handy, 57th Wing Commander.”
“However, they still don’t know why the bomb dummy device, or BDU, fell off of a plane and landed on a pick-up truck that was traveling down Las Vegas Boulevard and Beasley Avenue. “
“The BDU-33 is a 25 pound device regularly used to simulate the ballistics of real air-to-ground weapons. This training device does not carry explosives, but it does carry a small smoke charge used to mark its impact point.”
This video is from KVBC News 3, broadcast October 16, 2008.
Thanks newtonusr – I do so hope all three of these bizarre cretons vainly do regular googles of themselves and glimpse your linky. Reminder to myself: must learn photoshop. Have a fabulous candid photo of my local nemeses Dirty Harry I’m oh so eager to share. ;~)
well Suzanne, what with the successful surge and everything going so great in Iraq nad Afghanistan and winning the occupation and all the military success…CT doesn’t get much attention of late so I am spiffing up my spelling to a military standard that allows only two typos per letter. Just hoppin it makes CT feel a little more ORDERLY and spiffy.
There have been lots of the mid size planes that flying over here for about 2 months. I have thought about it a few times and wondered why. Fox news even had a plane flying when nothing was happening, no bad accident, no tanker spill, no fire, no tornado, etc. that I know of. A House member was having a fundraiser.
Ya don’t wanna eat them mud sucking bastards any way, that is exactly what they taste like, what you smell at low tide, with green beans on the side.

Jet mistakenly drops dummy bomb in Okla.
Military Mistakenly Drops Dummy Bomb on Tulsa, Okla., Building; No One Injured
Staff
AP News
Mar 14, 2008 13:50 EST
An Air National Guard jet mistakenly dropped a 22-pound non-explosive, practice bomb on an apartment complex, damaging the foundation but no one was injured, police said Friday.
The military pilot thought he had dropped the BDU-33 bomb, equipped with a dummy warhead, over a field in Kansas during a routine training mission out of Tulsa on Thursday.
A couple returned home to the Canyon Creek apartment complex and found the ordnance partly buried in the foundation and the power knocked out, Tulsa Police Officer Jason Willingham said.
The fighter aircraft was en route to Smokey Hill Gunnery Range in Salina, Kan., on a routine mission, according to a statement released Friday by the Oklahoma Air National Guard’s 138th Fighter Wing.
Shortly after takeoff, the training bomb inadvertently released from the aircraft, the guard statement said.
A safety investigation board has been convened and the investigation is ongoing, the statement said.
The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms are investigating.
Willingham said the Air National Guard removed the ordnance from the scene.
A manager at the apartment complex, who declined to give his name, said it was back to business as usual at the complex Friday morning.
“God must love the people at Canyon Creek,” he said.
We made our second trip to the new California Academy of Sciences today — a special trip to spend some time visiting the penguins. They are a lot of fun; there was a juvenile who was very attracted to Patrick’s, then my, glasses as we waved them. S/he would dive under the water and chase my hand holding the glasses, then a bunch of other penguins came to see what was up.
A docent told us that the penguins are very social; when the Academy’s temporary facility closed to the public to get ready for the move into their wonderful new home, the staff had to be asked to make special visits to the penguins during the day, as they had become sad and lonely without human interaction.
Flightless, but interspecially social, birds. Whodathunkit?
John is going back to his Catholic roots. Switched to the protestants a while back. Good to cover all bets ya know. Now getting on better with the “Islamic presidential candidate” its all covered and no more terrorist attacks. G)
Sounds more like the predictable results of the Air Force’s RIFing they did a year or two ago. Guess they felt coming up with their own unique cammies and having top brass prance around in new dress uniforms was a more important use in resources than making sure they have enough personnel to do the job.
before i left, there was a big article in the paper on about the new roof there – was forking kewl – and i think i saw a show on it too.
i loved the old one tho – the planatarium, the aquarium, the whole 9 yards. back in the early 70’s, i lived at 8th and cabrillo and used to walk over to there and the deyoung all the time.
Suzanne…
Have you considered making money from pictures of that spectacular place you live at?

Wow now we have someone to watch out for Extraterrestrial life, space vehicles, spy satellites and errant Nebulas not to mention the Van Allen belt, the earth magnetic field, space and atmospheric pollution and such mythical stuff that Bushco pooh poohs.

The Nellis Solar Power Plant is the largest solar photovoltaic system in North America,[1] and is located within Nellis Air Force Base in Clark County, Nevada, on the northeast side of Las Vegas. The Nellis solar energy system will generate in excess of 25 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually and supply more than 25 percent of the power used at the base.[2] The system was inaugurated in a ceremony on December 17, 2007, with Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons activating full operation of the 14 Megawatt array.[3][4]

Hi Suz and everyone.
I’m really enjoying the last few days of fall, going for lots of walks with the dog.
Looks like it’s getting cold early where I live, and the Farmer’s Almanac says it’s going to be a cold winter.
Time to make Russian tea.
Hey Suz! Okay! Loving my freshman seminar, where we talk about all kinds of stuff. These young-uns are so refreshing. We get into deep discussions about whether insects feel pain or not. And, we have a philosopher in the class, how just yesterday was speculating that insects do stuff because they are bored and looking for adventure.
The flip side of the coin…without US pesense in Iraq what do you expect to happen with Syria, Russsia, Isreal, Iran and the other players as they fill the power vacuum? The unintended consequences of an independent Shia Iraq?
Quite a few bases in the Southwest have solar arrays of one sort or another, typically on roofs. For installations that are kinda out on their own away from cities anyway, it’s a good way to generate power independently.
Remember what Jane said about Letterman and how he would rant incessantly about McCain when McCain blew him off by lying about having to miss Letterman’s show so he could return to Washington to work on the financial crisis?
Here the best part of the show tonight, when Letterman confront McCain about pallin around with Gordon Liddy. McCain didn;t see it coming. Wait till you see the look on his face. VIDEO 18 secs.
Maliki is Iran’s pawn… All the Sunni nations are fearful… Jordan, S.A., UAE, Kuwait, and Yemen, for starters… We’ve bollixed it up royally and we still have the Afghans to contend with on the other side of Iran…!
busted said the very nicest thing to Christy , The Redddhead and peanuts the other day. Really nice for all who lose a pet or family member. Just terrific. So right Suzzanne.
Sunny, LOL. And a few days ago we had quite an interesting discussion about this photo, which I showed to the class. An evolving adventure in my downstairs bathroom, involving ants and a cockroach.
Sure, Miz Palin, of course we don’t bomb the Afghans, we only build schools and such…
A NATO airstrike on Thursday on a village near the embattled provincial capital of Lashkar Gah killed 25 to 30 civilians, Afghan officials in the area said. While NATO confirmed that an airstrike had taken place in the area, where Taliban fighters have been battling NATO forces, it said that the reports were being investigated and that the command was “unable to confirm any civilian casualties.”
Reliable information on the airstrike — whether it caused the deaths, as local officials and residents reported, and whether the number of civilian deaths was accurate — was elusive. But any substantial civilian death toll would further inflame an Afghan government and public already uneasy over a recent rise in civilian casualties from coalition airstrikes.
Yep Obama will have some very interesting meet ups with those folks. With a name like Hussien he will have a talking point not that it will carry him far can’t hurt.
58 bases and 5 mega bases city like infrastructure. In the wrong hands the weapon is turned against us. Can they be dismantled…probably.
By the way the crooks on wall street we are bailing did more damage than the Iraq War and all the terrorist damage combined. Many trillions.
Oh my…tough job that was..Ever have nightmares of scenes?
Well, that was nature, too. The atrocities of human nature!
As a fellow Libra..I say..go for the balance…
Balance the awful human nature photography with the natural world’s photography…and make some money while enjoying what you are doing.
right now, i’m just going to enjoy it and enjoy putzing around with the camera, learning what it does. i’m gonna have to read the forking basic and advanced guides to it.
i have the feeling that your suggestion is one that i’m gonna be chewing on this winter as i learn.
Sunny, not to worry. These are the “outside” roaches. The “water bugs” as they were called in CA. Don’t know what they are called in the South. But, these are not the small infestatious kind. Boric acid laced with a pheromone was involved! ;)
SteveAudio has a post up that includes a robocall on behalf of the McCain campaign (which I couldn’t figure out how to link), and a shockwave video that I couldn’t figure out how to open, but apparently includes something about G. Gordon Liddy ~~But McCains’ terrorist ties are OK, as he appears on G. Gordon Liddy’s show:~~
But here’s the whole enchilada, which includes the pithy sentiment from SteveAudio “fuck John McCain”.
In the low country I’ve been introduced to water bugs. Big suckers. “why honey, that’s not a roach, it’s just an ole waterbug” I always assumed it was a civilized euphemism for a truly horrendous roach problem *g*
that parting crack about those sayin palin isn’t qualified were those who were not picked showed just how petty and vindictive mccain is. mean and nasty down to his inner ugly.
The more I see McCheese, the more I want to see him not just defeated, but flattened, at the ballot box. And through him, his party’s pursuit of this brand of politics.
Well, I’m back in the box again tanight so throw another log on the fire and keep the tunes comin’…after watchin’ Obama’s performance at the Al Smith shindig, I am amazed that his favorables are not at 85% givin’ due defference for the 15% unregenerate racist douchebags. Ain’t it great ta support a candidate who is smart, has a sense a humor, is sensitive to others and knows when ta hold ‘em and when ta go for the jugular!!
There is no way that more’n 50% of the undecideds will break for McCrazy so if this election is not a complete rout, I want some folks in jail for vote tamperin’!
Norske-
Obama tonight seemed untethered from the disciplined path he has been on. He could freely lash McCheese under the pretense that it’s all in good humor – something I have wanted to see since April.
It was fun to watch.
The American Revolution ultimately produced George W Bush.
The Cuban Revolution produced Medical Doctors.
Can this be the karma?
The state-owned Cuban oil company says the country may have more than 20bn barrels of oil in its offshore fields – more than double the previous estimate.
If correct, Cuba’s oil reserves would be almost the same as those of the US – 21bn barrels, according to the Oil & Gas Journal – and nearly twice the size of Mexico’s – 11.7bn barrels.
I had the great pleasure of seeing Rory Gallagher perform back in the 1970’s. He was a great talent who was woefully under-appreciated. And, wow, what incredible bass playing from Jack Bruce!

Good evening Yacht Owners here at the AIG regatta. It has been a stressful evening planning for my next cruise through the South Pacific Islands.

Not to bring things up from the previous thread, but what kind of a hunt was it those AIG douchebags went on, exactly?

Remember what Jane said about Letterman and how he would rant incessantly about McCain when McCain blew him off by lying about having to miss Letterman’s show so he could return to Washington to work on the financial crisis?
Here the best part of the show tonight, when Letterman confront McCain about pallin around with Gordon Liddy. McCain didn;t see it coming. Wait till you see the look on his face. VIDEO 18 secs.
I did my bit entertaining roaches in my last school apartment… *shiver*
Hard to believe anyone would want to get in the middle of that mess now.
Fermented potato peels..vodka
Maliki is Iran’s pawn… All the Sunni nations are fearful… Jordan, S.A., UAE, Kuwait, and Yemen, for starters… We’ve bollixed it up royally and we still have the Afghans to contend with on the other side of Iran…!
busted said the very nicest thing to Christy , The Redddhead and peanuts the other day. Really nice for all who lose a pet or family member. Just terrific. So right Suzzanne.
wow
in tea?
Sunny, LOL. And a few days ago we had quite an interesting discussion about this photo, which I showed to the class. An evolving adventure in my downstairs bathroom, involving ants and a cockroach.

May be a slang for Vodka… Rssian tea that keeps you warm. The good ol boys used the slang for booze when they go hunting or fishing.
i flashed back to that forking ant movie ‘them’. forker still scares me with that noise (shrudder)
Sure, Miz Palin, of course we don’t bomb the Afghans, we only build schools and such…
more than half the country is now pink – no go zones due to high risk of death
the forgotten war with forgotten victims
Yep Obama will have some very interesting meet ups with those folks. With a name like Hussien he will have a talking point not that it will carry him far can’t hurt.
58 bases and 5 mega bases city like infrastructure. In the wrong hands the weapon is turned against us. Can they be dismantled…probably.
By the way the crooks on wall street we are bailing did more damage than the Iraq War and all the terrorist damage combined. Many trillions.
Russian Tea Recipe Ingredients
2 c Tang 1 ts Cinnamon
1/2 c Instant tea 1/2 ts Cloves
1 c Sugar 1 pk Lemonade mix
I remember this from the 60s. Tang was very in, and this uses it. It has a beautiful deep amber/orange color and smells and tastes like pure love.;)
ooooh, that sounds wonderful for a cold winter nite
thanks margot – i remember tang and being pissed my mom was buying real oj instead of tang.
McCain Loses Hastily Convened Fourth Presidential Debate With Lifesize Cardboard Obama
http://dagblog.com/humor-satir…..oard-obama
we know a lot of your conversations while looking right at dave? wtf?
OMG!!!
Sunny, not to worry. These are the “outside” roaches. The “water bugs” as they were called in CA. Don’t know what they are called in the South. But, these are not the small infestatious kind. Boric acid laced with a pheromone was involved! ;)
david is asking actual follow questions and trying to get mccain to answer the forking question about palin’s qualifications.
Dave: “Palin qualified? Another Sept. 11th – is she the one you trust to lead?”
McCheese: “Absolutely.”
Nate Silver calls out Matt Drudge…
SteveAudio has a post up that includes a robocall on behalf of the McCain campaign (which I couldn’t figure out how to link), and a shockwave video that I couldn’t figure out how to open, but apparently includes something about G. Gordon Liddy ~~But McCains’ terrorist ties are OK, as he appears on G. Gordon Liddy’s show:~~
But here’s the whole enchilada, which includes the pithy sentiment from SteveAudio “fuck John McCain”.

Well, I shall bid ya’ll a fond adieu! Aloha Oe!!! ;-)

In the low country I’ve been introduced to water bugs. Big suckers. “why honey, that’s not a roach, it’s just an ole waterbug” I always assumed it was a civilized euphemism for a truly horrendous roach problem *g*
whatta ass mccain is – such a mean nasty person
He’s a lying, craven, desperate, morally-ungrounded, creep. He thinks he is selling that shit to a new audience.
Major FAIL.
don’t hold back newton (laughing)
that parting crack about those sayin palin isn’t qualified were those who were not picked showed just how petty and vindictive mccain is. mean and nasty down to his inner ugly.
ok pups, that’s it for me. g’nite all and thanks for hanging out with me tonight.
The more I see McCheese, the more I want to see him not just defeated, but flattened, at the ballot box. And through him, his party’s pursuit of this brand of politics.
nite suz
His selection of Palin speaks volumes about his attitude toward women. You gals want a woman? I’ll give you a woman!
(he, on the other hand, either considers himself immortal or doesn’t give a shit what happens after he’s gone)
Citizen Suzanne and the Firepup Freedom Fighters:
It was fun to watch.
nite pups
The American Revolution ultimately produced George W Bush.
The Cuban Revolution produced Medical Doctors.
Can this be the karma?

I had the great pleasure of seeing Rory Gallagher perform back in the 1970’s. He was a great talent who was woefully under-appreciated. And, wow, what incredible bass playing from Jack Bruce!
