Here’s a bit of trivia: going to back to ’04, the Democratic candidate has beaten the Republican candidate 7 straight times in presidential debates.
That, my friends, is a serious ass-kicking.
- Biggest blowout yet: CBS 53-22, CNN 58-31, MediaCurves 60-30, Frank Luntz’s focus group.
- Denver focus group of undecideds caught laughing at McSame.
- But the pundits loved him.
- And at The Corner, they’re just confused.
- HuffPo’s got debate highlights.
- Sullivan’s got bloggy reax.
- The Factcheck.org rundown.
- Pander fail: McSame blows the Trig disability.
- Joe the Plumber compares Obama to Sammy Davis, Jr.
- Is he related to Charles Keating?
- Nate points to the moment where McSame lost it.

“Oh Doctor!”
zed?
Good morning, BT! That video loop is going to drive me crazy…but at least it isn’t Attaturk’s WTF photo which looks like Nosferatu.
mornin’ all.
And at The Corner, they’re just confused.
linkie broken (not that that’s necessarily a bad thing)…
Fixed.
heh – my first trip to NRO.
Is that a typical K-Lo well though-out, reasoned and persuasive kinda post?
McNasty vs Nosferatu
The face McCain is making in the gif above is hysterical. He did that in response to Obama saying Fox News has even found McCain’s research to be stupid & untrue! LOL It was a beautiful moment.
Does McCain & Palin understand it was the Kennedy family who started the Special Olympics in honor of Ted’s sister beloved sister years ago who was mentally challenged? I doubt it!
Democrats have always been there for the disabled in this country. a
frankly jayt, that was one of her more coherent pieces
I missed the first part of the debate which McCain is supposed to have won, according to the assembled pundits at CNN. I got in during the Ayers attack. McCain faced looked like he was trying to control an attack of diarrhea, which I suppose is metaphorically the case, as he was getting the shit knocked out of him.
fyi – Arthur Levitt to testify before Senate Banking Committee.
Arthur Levitt chaired the SEC from 1993 to 2001, during which time major financial industry deregulation bills (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Commodity Futures Modernization Act) were debated and passed into law. At the time Levitt favored such deregulation, but has since learn to regret his role. Lately he’s been talking and today he is scheduled to testify before the Senator Dodd’s Banking committee:
details at oxdown via the link.
As I mentioned downstairs, this would be because all the talking heads make waaaaay more than the $250,000 cut off for tax increases.
Also, most of them will go from being ‘A’ listers to ‘C’ listers on the cocktail weenie circuit.
Oh, the horror!
Rick Davis talking about how well McCrazy did last night on JoeScar.
I don’t want to play poker with him, I think – couldn’t spot his ‘tell’. (unless it’s the raising the left eyebrow thing).
any poker players up this early here this morning?
P.S. Davis only had about 45 seconds worth of material on how great Gramps’ performance was last night, apparently….
heh.
I guess they’re going to have to kiss Barack Obama’s ass come January 2009. Bah hahahahahaha!
expect that is when they will start hyping impeachment.
This just in: Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.
That’s 45 seconds too much of that dipshit.
It’s gonna be an interesting ride for sure!
Selise, I loved your comment last night in the #2 thread where you said it was already 30 minutes in and you ate all your chocolate. LMAO! Hysterical.
Okay, going to work with the rest of the schmucks. ;-)
This could be good.
Jim Rokakis has been all over the predatory lending story for years, but for the longest time he was a voice in the wilderness.
Broder will really show us just how much of a bitter old man he can be.
Dick Gregory just said Mc Cain couldn’t win if he ran against an empty refrigerator!
Those split screens were wonderful! Mcpalin appeared ready for a made-to-measure white jacket.
I just caught the tail-end of an interview with a columnist from the Cleveland Plain Dealer on Washington Journal which sounded like some well-considered analysis of the race factor in the campaign. Heading off to check C-Span to find out her name for further research. bbl
At a glance I thought that was David Gregory and I was wondering just what kind of detox facility he’d been to.
Dick is on Imus and he is killin it.
I so look forward to the night of November 4th, when Dancin’ Dave’s world comes crashing down on live teevee….
Can’t wait to see Stewart and Colbert on Joe the Plumber!
Priceless.
Yeah, I’m thinking the chocolate manufacturers have been doin’ a booming business this election cycle!
i did not know that about Rokakis – thanks!
do you have a fav. link to add to the comments?
“The more he wins the whiter he’s gonna get”
DG
completely true. i had eaten a whole bar of very dark chocolate. the chocolate high helped me listen though – probably the least painful of the series.
More info?
Condolences to Barbara [epu-ed in last thread]
Has everyone seen this?
The GOP’s Bill Ayers?
The McCain campaign has its own questionable connections to bombers and assassins.Sorry for the long link to the story.. http://www.slate.com/id/2202183/
He’s gonna hafta find a new source of Kool-aid. His dealers are bein’ run out of town compliments of the Nationwide Neighborhood Watch.
I found a quote I had copied a while back about economists and I thought of the free marketers of Friedmanism:
In this they resemble theologians, who likewise establish two kinds of religion. Every religion which is not theirs is an invention of men, while their own is an emanation of God… Marx, Capital, Vol 1, Chap 1
Oh, it’s tough, he is so quick and so smart. How bout this? “I flying back from Europe last week and said to the guy next to me “How long you been a sky marshal. How did you know? Purple socks in first class, give me a break”!
LOL. Purple socks? holy shit.
“We so busy worryin about Bill Ayers and he’s being payed with state money. If it’s good enough for them it’s good enough for me”!
(((((barbara)))))
Thanks PS – The FDL family needs to know and send all the hugs, love and strength we can to Barbara.
You’re most welcome, but I don’t have a specific link to add.
Will do so if I see one.
((Barbara))
Didn’t Joe the Plumber marry Larry the Cable Guy last week in San Diego?
I could swear I saw it on You Tube.
Don’t count on the corporate media kissing Obama’s ass in January. My guess is that they will suddenly become “serious journalists” and will attack him ruthlessly…
Connie Schultz
she was on Rachel night before last – a Pulitzer winner. very reasoned, sensible – IOW, she actually listens to the great unwashed
Talk Me Down segment Ms Schultz appears 3 minutes in :D
Lost property announcement just now on the Amtrak Acela Express out of DC:
“If there’s a passenger on the train named Mark Penn, Mark Penn, please see the conductor.”
Somehow I don’t think they found his ethics.
lol. can’t find what doesn’t exist.
Hey BT. Hey everybody/
Got in from work last night just as the debate ended and te punditry was beginning. what was that? 10:30? 11? anyway, the consensus seemed to be that it was McCain’s best and Obama’s worst debate. I watched the debte after and didn’t think it was an ass whooping. But I think alot of people a few weeks ago thought Obama had something to prove or that he was a dangerous guy and he’s made a good impression, so he had that going in.
I saw that link to Joe The Plumber. Scumbag. Maybe a shit-filled drain will leak all over him today. I think Obama needs to tweak a policy proposal. Tax cut for every middle class person – except Joe The Plumber.
And yeah. Obama slammed McCain’s ass when the old guy started talking about Palin and special needs kids. Another example of McCain saying too much. he’d made his point about his idiot running mate. breath of fresh air; energy expert, blah, blah, blah. Should have stopped there. As we saw, Obama wasn’t going to challenge anything on Palin. But no, McAsshole had to throw in one last unrelated thing. Special needs kids. And his surrebutal? “We don’t have to spend more money on the retards.” Nice. If McCain loses more ground after this it’s great. About overconfidence….. the more Barack gains ion McCain, the more psyched I get and I’m not the only one. We really wanna turn FL blue and bring some Congresspeoples with that – Alan Grayson for one.
Not suprised about this…also McNutter’s campaign has been throwing bombs everywhere on their TeeVee ads, crazy bunch.
LOL
Re: Barbara
I have to apologize but I don’t know who David is.
No matter, I’ve seen here around and my condolences.
her beloved husband.
I was trying to figure out why McSame kept referring to Palin’s knowledge about autism. Demographics? ’Cuz autism and her special needs child are not related.
Aieee! Like McSame, Katie Couric referred to Joe the Plumber as “Joe Wurzelburger” instead of “-bacher.”
Just as I got home from driving carpool, Bill Press announced on the radio that people are digging into just who Joe is, and they can’t find any record that he’s actually a plumber, but evidence is growing that he is a McSame plant. Ought to be interesting to see how this plays out!
I thought McCain’s argument was that Obama’s tax plan would drive Joe the Plumber out of business and ruin everyone’s chances of working for a beligerant, pea-brained, stingy, moron.
Prediction #1: Joe the Plumber will be researched more and more in coming days, and he will become less and less of an issue, because he’s going to seem less and less middle class.
Prediction #2: The big gaffe of the night–which both the MSM and the blogs have already noted in various places–was McCain’s line on abortion where he put air-quotes around the “health” of the mother and put the phrase “pro-abortion” in the same sentence. That’s a 10 second sound-bite that you’re going to see over and over again.
“Health,” “Health,” “Health.”
I was amazed. John McCain, I am a woman, I know women, and YOU are no friend of women. No you are Not. My. Friend.
OMG..I’m getting sick watching McCain’s head spin this morning here! LOL
Is there any way to turn off that GIF. I’m afraid he’ll pop an ocular globe.
McCain could not even grant Michelle Obama her own name. He referred to her as “Mrs. Obama” and later as “your wife”. It appeared to me that he either did not know or could not remember her name.
I am 2 years older than McCain. Most males of that generation considered women as an appendage to themselves that should reflect the husband’s opinions and attitudes. In other words, be a Stepford wife, which is exactly what Cindy McCain is – keep your mouth shut, bobble-head up and down, walk 4 feet behind.
No McCain/Palin!
Been watching the reaction and debate poll in Britain. Last nights debate??
guardian.co.uk:
“Barack Obama and John McCain held their third and final debate on Wednesday night. Who came away victorious?”
92.7% Barack Obama
7.3% John McCain
In a country whose history is built around crochety old men and high pitched tarts – this is a huge SLAP!
And hysterically funny… in a sad kinda way.
