I heard on the news coming home that McSame did better. I was scared until now. I’ve seen it all now.

McSame really was more of the same. What really struck me hard is the division between men and women on choice. Men on CNN’s paddles thought McSame was making sense, women were reacting negatively.

Even before the market crash the past 3 weeks or so it was going to be a win for Obama by a landside. That red map is gone for a long time. The right wing is impotent and no longer has the power it had and it may never again have it. Now we just have to get rid of that other 10 lb weight that has been on us for the past 8 years.

Saw a clip of him on The Daily Show during the primary season, and he seemed remarkably shallow. Stewart asked something about polls influencing elections rather than measuring them, and he literally had no answer to this. Stewart seemed shocked. Kinda disturbing really…

I asked about poll size, because typical polls will run 12-1600 respondents. Push-polling 1600 people just isn’t worthwhile, unless you are counting on the thing spreading through word-of-mouth.

When the DimSon push-polled the Real Maverick McCain in 2000, they were working the phone banks really hard. One of the hallmarks of push-polling is stupidly large sample sizes.

It was just McInsane ignoring reality. Again.

If you pay people to collect voter registrations and you monitor the number of registrations they collect, you get a ridiculously high error rate. You can’t trust the work.

If I was the king of the forest, I’d ban paid registration collectors and signature collectors. If you can’t get people to believe in the cause enough to donate their time, it ain’t worth checking the signatures/forms.

The rate was 6.86 infant deaths per 1,000 live births in 2005, virtually unchanged from 6.89 deaths per 1,000 births in 2000. In 1900, the U.S. infant mortality rate was 100 deaths per 1,000 live births.

The United States dropped to 29th in the world in infant mortality in 2004, the latest year that data are available from all countries, tying with Poland and Slovakia. The year before, it was 27th. In 1960, it was 12th.
