There are still three weeks left, and one debate, but it doesn’t look good for the Rovians, the new ABC/WaPo poll has him up by 10.
With just over three weeks until Election Day, the two presidential nominees appear to be on opposite trajectories, with Sen. Barack Obama gaining momentum and Sen. John McCain stalled or losing ground on a range of issues and personal traits, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
And wherever McCain has doubled down, he has tripled his losses…
Nearly two-thirds of voters, 64 percent, now view Obama favorably, up six percentage points from early September.
When you’ve spent 100% of your advertising on negative, character-driven ads, and your opponent’s favorables go up, that’s more than a wee problem. McCain has blown all the good will he had banked up with his servile media corps these last dozen years. In general, people no longer like him — unless, of course, he’s being compared to his own VP selection. She’s loathed.

Perfect illustration for a post about McCain, because his friend and fellow corrupt con man in the Senate, Ted “Toobz” Stevens claims that his family invented the toaster.
Me!! May I have some extra honey-butter, please?
Drill drill Sarah is about to be loathed some more. Time.com/Election ‘08 had an article yesterday…Palin’s Blown Opportunity on Energy Independence. Sarah sells all surplus to Asia instead of the lower 48.
(sorry but i never get tired of laughing at that photo)
I”ll try to find the link, but it looks like palin is now his worst enemy, ignoring him and campaigning for 2012 instead of being on the same page as he is
to me, if that is true, he should dump her regardless the consequences
be back with that link
Times Online UK has the transcripts of an interview with Nouri al-Maliki. He says that the UK combat troops are no longer needed and can go home now.
It has been agreed that all US forces will be out of Iraqi cities by June 30, 2009. If they are not needed in cities, why are they staying in Iraq? Maliki is insisting that US troops can’t even arrest anyone without permission being given first. That has not been agreed to, but if it is, US troops will become sitting ducks at bases around Iraq.
If they are not in the cities…are they going to be protecting oil pipelines?

if he has any testosteroun left, one ounce of manhood, he looses this albatros
regardless of the bump she gave him, there is no doubt she has been the biggest liability in his campaign, costing far more voters then she gained

Good morning, pups. It’s [snort] Kristol, Cohen and Krugman today. Oh, Jeez! McCain is officially toast. Wrong Way Billy has noted that it’s not all roses and sunshine and happy thoughts. He excreted a thing called “Fire the Campaign,” in which he says it’s time for John McCain to fire his campaign. He says McCain needs to reposition himself as a serious but cheerful candidate for times that need a serious but upbeat leader. Billy, with 3 weeks to go this will be rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Mr. Cohen gives us “History and the Really Very Weird,” in which he says this is no ordinary moment. And it’s not a time, in history’s great sweep, for Dan Quayle’s “very weird” people to run the world. I agree. Going from the very stupid to the very weird is not a good move. Mr. Krugman notes that “Gordon Does Good.” He says that with stunning speed, the British government defined the character of the worldwide rescue effort. Now other wealthy nations have to catch-up.

The coffee and tea are ready, and the biscuits are out of the oven. We are officially in the double digits, with 99 days to go. That thought buoys me a bit… Have a great day.
I’ll only guess who Hoover is, but YES, he types great!! Hope it’s a good day over there for you and Hoover. We need alittle laugh. Cindy is going to be so mad with McHusband, dontchathink? Ask Hoover.
Good morning everyone!
We need to be prepared for the October surprise coming out of the McCrazy camp. There is lots of talk online from the neck drooling neocons that they have “proof” that Barack Obama was born in Kenya. Oh yes, you laugh at that and remember it was Barack’s father who was born in Kenya, but that won’t stop the lunatics from photoshopping a birth certificate to “prove” it! And the media will soak it up.
Also, we need to start talking about Sarah Palin’s ties to right wing evangelical militiamen in Alaska. Salon.com wrote about it here…
http://www.salon.com/news/feat…..n_chryson/
And Ornicus wrote about it here:

These are the real domestic terrorists in our nation.
Here’s a chant for us too:
“McCain, Gramm, Enron! McCain, Gramm, Enron! McCain, Gramm, Enron!”.
LOL
So what you’re saying Perris is Sarah is out-mavericking the maverick? LOL *shaking head*
An additional thought is to vote early if your state allows you to. Although I think that Barack will win easily, we need to make sure that his supporters get to the polls.
Yep. I’m voting absentee ballot this year for the first time ever. Everyone should be.
Hoover is the latest kitteh to grace us with his presence. (Not named after an old Republican president — you’ve never seen him eat…)
More good news on the McCain campaign…:)
NEW YORK ‘Barack Obama picked up at least 15 newspaper endorsements this weekend, including six in swing states Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina and Missouri. John McCain, as far as we know, gained none.’

I am amazed mccain is allowing it, he should be throwing her out pronto, not only is he taking a back seat to this moron, she’s making him look dumber then she is
hard to do
More on the ‘Kashkari Kid’..Hmmm, working with IT companies.. Wonder just which companies he was working with?
‘When Kashkari returned to Goldman Sachs after business school, he worked with senior bankers advising companies in the software sector. As a junior banker, he did not have many responsibilities of his own; it was his job to prioritize and execute on the tasks given to him by others. (In many ways, that has also been Kashkari’s job at Treasury, where the strategy has been set by Hank Paulson.)
Kashkari did well enough that his bosses gave him an obscure sector to research and cover : information technology software, which included antivirus-program makers. The sector included many tiny companies that rarely hired or needed investment bankers, and Goldman Sachs did not have meaningful relationships with the leading companies. Kashkari impressed colleagues with his technical skill. Much of his job, however, was building relationships, a task that, in the world of investment banking, takes years. Although a few mergers and financings emerged from his work, many were not publicly disclosed because of their small size.’

Morning Dawgs!
He’ll never dump her. Haven’t we learned by now that these freaks can NEVER admit a mistake?
While Johnny has been holding KKK-like rallies in his run for the presidency, Barack Obama is holding real rallies consisting of rational Americans…
http://whitenoiseinsanity.file…..er2008.jpg
admitting a mistake is differant then taking a kick to the balls
she is kicking him in the balls, he has a reputation for responding in kins
lets’s see if he does…though his handlers are no doubt hiding the facts of her real intentions from him so he probably doesn’t even realize his balls are getting crushed
that’s some pic, side by side an anemic mccain pic would be very nice
So, how much influence will Wall Street have in an Obama administration? Read: http://www.bestcyrano.org/THOMASPAINE/?p=1089
Hoover’s doing a great job. Marion GA has a “liberal” early voting policy and you should consider taking advantage of it. Between 24th and 27th there will a recreation center within a few miles of my house that I can vote early at.
Orlando Sentinel endorsed the Dem over Feeney–first time it didn’t endorse Feeney. But it endorsed Keller instead of Alan Grayson.
Congratulations to Paul Krugman !
Congratulations Prof. Krugman!

I think Teddy P linked to this but I think it’s critical stuff. I’ve been bitching for a week about the lack of pushback. And the lack of pushback on this. And ACORN ain’t gonna go away. better address that. the Rethugs are running with that.

I don’t know much about his financial writing, I am hoping paul puts the theory of “free trade” to rest?
wow. that’s great!!!!
Krugman wins the Nobel Prize for economics!!!!!
I’m convinced that John McCain is no longer in charge of his campaign. I’d go so far as to say that he has now become mostly irrelevant to the campaign and that the Palin faction is now in charge.
If I were John McCain and I somehow win this election (Gawd forbid), I’d be looking to hire a food taster.
The neo-con Bushies were always the ones running Palin. They’ve trained her and nurtured her. She’s their new George W. Bush. And I’ve believed ever since the Republican convention that Todd and Sarah Palin, and the men behind them, have been planning John McCain’s demise.
might be a strategic move to split the dem vote
I agree with your entire post sangemon
there is the fact though that he IS running even though he might NOT be in charge of the actual campaign
he can still say she goes to punch back the kick in the balls even though he is not in charge of the campaign
Kristol:The media is hostile.
BFL:
Bullshit.
Kristol:
There are still enough doubts about Obama to allow McCain to win.
BFL
Bullshit.
that’s not true, she really didn’t know she would be running till just before she was
they wanted her because she has charisma and she is one of them, they had no hand in her training or nurturing, that is completely todd
Wow! That’s great.
The Drilla From Wasilla?
I am so glad for good news. NPR covering a story about people who still think Obama is Muslim, then there’s Palin lying about the Trooper report, and lying about the Obama position on abortion. When this campaign is over, we should pass a law that bald face lies against one’s opponent are illegal. Why should deliberate lies be protected speech? Muslim…shouldn’t even be a problem. But accuracy and truth are virtue.
I am also under the impression the neo-con Theocrats might not have realized until recently that she is an empty vessel
they didn’t know that she is simply Todd incarnate, and they didn’t realize she is a moron
I am not thinking they are too pleased with her either, she’s just all they have, she is not what they want
Nate Silver (fivethirtyeight.com) projects Obama winning with:
– 94.1% likelihood
– 350.5 to 187.5 electoral vote split
– 52% to 46.6% popular vote split
what is the record for winning electoral votes?
The NYTimes has a good article about the man behind the muslim rumors. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27157703/ The link is from MSNBC which is also carrying the article.
BT is upstairs with Early Morning Swim
Thanks Wigwam for the info!
Here’s the link to 538.com:

Yes, but since she was picked she has been in the hands of the Bushies.
And who do you think picked her in the first place?
Per the Wikipedia, it was Reagan in 1984 with 525 and 49 out of 50 states.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U…..on%2C_1984
the money raisers picked palin, mccain would go broke without her
that’s the reason she was picked, now, if he’s smart and can shed his handlers, he loses her
he needs a game changer, that is probably not enough but he needs a game changer to get some free press
WOW, hard to believe this entire country was duped so easily by the most damaging president up till bush
Maybe. His early trade work does point to a possible role for industrial policies that pure free trade models do not provide. However, I’d be surprised if he got it for that work without sharing it with at least one early co-author.
Another main area of Krugman’s work applies the same ideas as the trade theory to questions of economic geography, including patterns of urbanization and specialized production within countries. I kind of think this is what the committee will turn out to have had in mind.
Krugman, and both of these lines of inquiry, are part of an interesting book for general readers about modern economic theories and how they developed:
Knowledge and the Wealth of Nations: A Story of Economic Discovery by David Warsh.
The focus of the book actually is work associated with a Nobel prize no doubt coming soon, to Paul Romer. I think I’ll finish mine this week8}
Thank you.. How do the whackoS get so much sway? He is one mean nut case, I guess.
Had a rare occasion to watch some of the Sunday shows yesterday and it was shocking to me. Although I was being distracted quite a bit from them, the only anchor I noticed bring up Palin’s law breaking while in office was Chris Matthews on Pox Newz. Of course, it was a set-up to let Rick Davis say something like, “Nothing story and you should stop talking about it.”
So a Republican dominated panel is responsible for releasing a report that finds Palin “unlawfully violated ethics code” while Governor, and Brokaw, Schieffer and Snufalupagus don’t think that bringing up less than 48 hours after the report is released??!!? This person was a complete unknown just a month or so ago and could be one heartbeat from the Presidency in an era where America and the world are in extremely dangerous positions. Plenty of William Ayers talk all around even though that’s been debated ad nauseum for weeks and was discussed a lot in the primaries.
This is obviously an intentional effort by BigMedia mavens to provide cover for the Repub ticket. Considering what a joke the Drilla from Wasilla is and the precarious nature of America right now, I consider these Newzholes to be accomplices in treasonous acts. How do you not even mention this story?!? Imagine if Joe Biden was found by a bunch of Democrats to have “violated the public trust.”
It’s obvious that BigMedia will go to extremes to help keep the race winnable for Repubs, both at the top of the ticket and all the Congressional races.
Would you call McCain’s campaign;
-imploding?
or
-engulfment?
