This morning on "Faux News Sunday," Chris Wallace asked Rick Davis about the rabid wingnut crazies, also known as the GOP base, screaming "kill him!" and "terrorist!" and "bomb Obama!" at unaffiliated right wing protests official McPalin campaign events.
His explanation? McSame was a POW. Really.
Davis also hilariously demanded an Obama apology for John Lewis' comments.
So to recap: the POW is not responsible for things his running mate says or his supporters say -- or anyone who introduces him -- at his campaign events. But Obama's responsible for everyone everywhere who says mean things about McSame. And did we mention that McSame was a POW?
As their campaign swirls down the electoral toilet, the McPalin people have moved well beyond chutzpah and into delusional self-parody.
It's a beautiful thing to watch.

McCain has shown that he deserves no honor for his military service, not even from having been a POW. It’s very sad.
Gosh, mcShame was a POW for 5 years. And Obama has been black for over 45 now. mcShame got liberated from being a POW. Obama’s gonna be black forever. But I don’t hear Obama surrogates whining about his blackness.
The mcShame campaign has only 2 cards they play. It’s their whole campaign.
That’s it!
I’ll make it even easier for you. Crying wolf is also lying. So, basically this their campaign. Everything they say is simply another LIE.
I remind everyone that simply being a prisoner, even if held illegally, does not make anyone at all a saint. Indeed, the Nazis recruited some of their worst “overseers” from among the inmates. Some of those who survive as POWs may have done so by comprising their honor. We simply don’t know how honorable (or not) mcShame may have been during 5 years as a POW.
I hope this brings an end to the rethugs as a political power. It is time for a new party that may bring some honor to serving politically.
Did anyone else notice Mr. Davis DID NOT address Chris’s question? Why should he be allowed to define parameters that he, himself, fails to meet? Off-the-charts on measures of hypocrisy, isn’t it? Hey . . . is there a word that defines ‘ultimate hypocrisy’ (besides ultimate hypocrisy)?
Apologies. That should have read “compromising” their honor. At least I can admit a mistake. mcShame seems unable to do so.

Everyone’s in Pennsylvania this weekend (the candidates that is) and Fineman writes a pretty good article as to why this will be the LAST weekend they are there (Pennsylvania now up 14% for Obama). Short answer- Pittsburgh has grown up and now makes Western Pa. stronger for dems- read it here:
http://www.blog.newsweek.com/b.....dates.aspx
I don’t think much of him as a senator or presidential candidate but I admire McCain’s piloting skills. What? He did? Never mind.
Rick Davis is a WATB
a mean spirited one, but still, a WATB.
End of Fineman piece:
“But it’s not going to be enough, I don’t think. Obama speaks of and to the new–a new generation, a new global outlook–and even though Pennsylvania still has the second oldest population in the country (after Florida), there is a yearning for a new day.
Obama has one other thing going for him: he is a sports junkie who watches ESPN whenever he can. That combined with his political savvy, led him to perfectly pander when it came to Pa. sports. He said he was a Steelers fan–which won him good will where he needed it most, in the small towns around Pittsburgh. And he said he was a Phillies fan, no one anywhere else in the state would hold that against him at this point for two reasons: the Pirates are hopeless, and Philly hasn’t won a world series since the 19th century.
Smart”
NEWSWEEK
Watching camera pans of the audiences at recent (this last week) rallies, combined with reporting by Ana Marie Cox of Wonkette, it seems that basest of the base are the majority of attendees for Palin/McCain. I hope the Secret Service increase Obamas protection, as these people are a really scary subset of our nation.
PS I couldn’t figure who, in their right mine, would still support the Prez., and this group explains the who. God save us.
Rick Davis is a fraking jerk and a bald faced liar. And I would tell him that straight to his Dam face, that is if he had the balls to even talk to me!!
You could fill Yankee Stadium with “what we don’t know”.
OT
Interview with Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus: ‘Capitalism Has Degenerated into a Casino’
Not that one would have expected a rational train of conversation in that clip, but it seemed to me like it should have led to a discussion of John McCain’s voting record on civil liberties and civil rights. With a 22% lifetime score by the ACLU
Sorry to go off topic:
Is anybody having trouble getting into the Senate websites? All I get are spinning wheels.
throw in Veterans issuse cuz we know how he “love’s those veterans”.
McCain- the old failed fighter pilot, is again up in the wild blue yonder- and takin heavy flak—he’s gettin shot down again- flyin right into his own missles- my FAVORITES of course, are when he takes heavy artillery on the Palin pick….Whadda dickhead!
Any of them that were also admiral’s kids, at least.
Tony Rezco and Obama associate planned to train Iraqi power-plant guards for U.S. power facilities, including nuclear facilities.
And have to right to carry automatic weapons.
Jeebus.
He was bombing babies for corporate profit. Not a prisoner of war but a captured war criminal. Name the date we declared war on Vietnam ,lousy white wing liars.
I watched that for just a little while, only because it happened to come after Jack Hanna’s show. Rick Davis was infuriating, repeatedly talking over David Axelrod. If I could have reached through the screen and put my hands around his scrawny, weasel neck…..
I had to turn the sound off, then quit watching altogether when it became apparent that Chris Wallace was just going to continue to let Davis keep butting in.
What’s an “associate”?
A business partner?
A person you once said “hi” to on the street?
Some of McCain’s associates once locked him in a cell and beat the holy hell out of him.
I’m wondering what these rabid supporters going to say or feel when McCain DOES NOT take it to Obama during the next debate?
I saw several clips of attendees begging McCain to take Obama to the mat with these so called “associations” or McCain facts…….. IMHO McCain is too chicken to bring any of it up……. HE knows it is all bogus……. HE knows that the crowd at the debate would violate “reaction rules” and Booooooo him…….
Will he loose their votes too……. because McCain didn’t take to the man?
What are you talking about?
Are you sure you don’t have Obama confused with the Bush administration and Blackwater?
Some Palin associates hate the United States Govt. and want Alaska to secede from the Union!
JEEBUS!
Rezco is singing like a canary.
Stay tuned.
It’s so horrible that reality has such an anti-republican bias. Davis and his ilk are vile.
some McCain associates wear white hoods, burn churches, and lynch babies.
until this national campaign i didn’t realize what a douchebag mccain was. and you’ll hear alot of “it’s unlike the john mccain we all know…” “he was uncomfortable doing it…..” “he didn’t want to do it but his campaign advisers……” bullshit. campaign/ambition first; country second. or third.
Rezco
IMHO McCain is too chicken to bring any of it up
No denying that once upon a time 45 years ago, mccain was quite the ballsy guy. Now? Total and complete wussie.
Wow, they really think P.O.W. is a total get-out-of-jail-free card, don’t they?
Someone needs to say, “Now, Rick, those five and a half years that John McCain had no civil rights, are those the same five and a half years his first wife Carol was raising their children and recovering from a horrible disfiguring car accident only to be abandoned by John McCain for a wealthy young beer heiress upon his return from POW camp?”
This level of un-reason is really frightening. I’ve heard that Secret Service undercover has been stepped up in the McSame crowds, and I hope it’s true. The Fringe Unleashed - far right wing having it’s moment in the sun is a very ugly sight.
and they’re trotting out their old fall back…. “obama should be up by more.” every day. as another pink state turns light blue. glen beck says “obama should be up by 20.” somebody says a republican candidiate starts with about 40% in a 2 person race. last newsweek poll has him at 41. Loser.
This is all so ridiculous.
I served on the board of a neighborhood housing organization for 16 years.
During that time, probably 30 people served at different times with me.
Other than their current occupation, I knew nothing else about any of them.
Therefore, to extrapolate any of their past activities (good or bad) onto me is ludicrous beyond belief.
No.
He’s not a wussie.
John McCain is a coward.
hey, ted.
true. we hear them talk alot (although as I think about it, no more than Obama) about military families and how wondercful they are. mccain treated his military family (wife) like shit
And so is Rick “Rat Face” Davis.
He’s been a one since he ran for his first race in the 70’s where he came to AZ as a carpetbagger and then pulled the POW card during a debate…… something along the line of “I wish I had grown up in a nice place like AZ but the longest I ever lived anywhere was the Hanoi Hilton” …….. bullsh*t that he never talked about being a POW….. he has been pulling that card for decades……
Since moving back to AZ….. I have been asked about two AZ politicians….. McCain and Sheriff Joe……… they are BFF so character counts…… btw……. Sheriff Joe’s deputies guard the vote counting room here in Maricopa country…..
It ain’t a workin either- the more McBush pulls that rope- the more shit falls all over him….
I actively encourage the goopers to get into the White House on the backs of Rezco, Ayers, and Wright—they’ll lose by ten points more than they are losing by—and they’re already coughin up their lungs.
All repugs have adopted the Cheney doctrine, confrontation.
Always confront democrats, by any means, to get an immediate victory.
They’re all priviledged bullies.
So you’re not a fan of sherrif “A-Pile”?
The Secret Service probably very clearly recalls where the angry right-wing energy found its release in 1972 — at a George Wallace rally in Laurel Maryland, crippling the former Alabama governor for life.
One thing ya learn on the golf course:
Goopers don’t confront dems holdin five irons.
It seems that AZ is waking up from their love fest with the two of them…….. some people have finally figured out that the MILLIONS of dollars Sheriff Joe have cost the county in law suits……… AND now a local TeeVee station has video of the death of an inmate where the Sheriff report said they did everything to save him while the video shows that the guy was alone for X minutes before he died…..
Because the city of Guadalupe complained about the raids of “driving and breathing while brown” the Sheriff canceled their police coverage……. really NOT that big of a deal…… their average response time to 911 calls was 45 minutes…..
Those lying sacks of crap at POLITICO are helping Rick Davis. They claim Crazy John wants tax cuts for the middle class. Crazy has not even uttered the words “middle class” during this campaign.
Do.not.feed.
i think most people know Politico is a right wing rag. Let them lie, they will not win this time and they know it.
I have a question. Wouldn’t it be illegal to commit local school board money for partisan political purposes?
What the hell are they sending a schools cheerleaders, in uniform (i.e. implying the school is making an endorsement) to a McCain rally?
Even if the McCain Campaign “paid” for them to be there, the fact that they are acting as representatives of the school at a partsian function seems to me to be illegal.
Cheerleaders Welcome McCain At Davenport, Iowa
I recall reading early in W’s first term about how woefully understaffed the Secret Service was. Hopefully, they’ve remedied that during the interim, although having done so would not be consistent with the trend in most government agencies.
Seems like one FL legislator doesnt mind comparing Acorn to KKK but heaven forbid the dems should mention another comparison
http://rawstory.com/news/2008/....._1010.html
Sherrif apile is a pile alright! I doubt any of us from Maricopa county like him!
yep….. one of those wandering over from those two website we never mention anymore..
So how is everyone today?
Beautiful day here in the flatland, how you?
Boy is it ever!
We’re only 3 weeks away from the beginning of the end of this nightmare.
It’s gonna be so nice to have adults in charge again, not to mention a POTUS that doesn’t embarrass you every time he opens his mouth.
One ‘good’ thing to come out of this horror show of an economy; because of this environment, should Obama win, in effect he’ll take over immediately.
No stimulus package would be possible without his approval, let alone war with Iran.
so called ‘PUMA droppings’
Doing ok but muscles are a bit sore. might have overdone it a bit yesterday. How are you?
I’m not sure that using the web site “The Real Barack Obama” constitutes a credible and reliable source.
More like swift boat liars on steroids.
Yep. It seems to be mostly innuendo and bullshit.
That’s scurrilous, to say the least!
been lazy today…… finally slept in….. been a ruff week with a tight deadline… ate a lovely “European” breakfast of baguette, cheese, salami and fruit and of course french press coffee….. the sun is hitting my section of the sofa which is my signal that it is time to get my lazy butt going…..
I usually follow along pretty well, but I’m lost this time.
Please help.
Wonder if they had the right to refuse
Just a bit O/T: Article in Tallahassee Democrat (10/12/2008):
Letter warning of attack on candidate being probed
A letter sent to the Tallahassee Democrat warning of a planned attack in Florida on the life of an unidentified Democratic candidate has been turned over to the authorities.
“We did take the initial report,” said Officer David McCranie of the Tallahassee Police Department. “Our criminal-intelligence unit has notified the Secret Service, and they will be following up on information contained in the note.”
The envelope containing the anonymous letter has a Jacksonville return address and arried at the newspaper’s office Thursday. The letter is addressed to “editor.” Also enclosed was the Florida driver’s license of a man the letter writer claimed was involved in the alleged plot.
“This group of men (is) talking about Tampa area . .. (These) men are serious about this attack,” the letter reads. “Someone here at Florida needs t(p) do something.”
The U.S. Secret Service could not be reached for comment about the status of the investigation.
*Contacvt reporter Nic Corbet at ncorbett@tallahassee.com or call (850) 599-2161
the do.not.feed commenter upthread…… provocateur
The school board and the principal should be reprimanded for this. It’s outrageous.
Third day of snow in Butte, MT. Not too much accumulation - a few inches, but south of here, they are expecting 48 inches.
Time to think of stews and soups, I guess.
Thanks.
And Arizona experienced a big drop in temps in less than 24 hrs….. from 19 to 25 degree drop ……. it was chilly yesterday to go from 99 on Friday to 73 on Saturday was well shocking……
I’ll never understand why the pundits don’t make their guests just answer the question.
Just a few flakes here last night but venison chili on the menu
“What’s an “associate”?A business partner?A person you once said “hi” to on the street?”
A former teacher? A worker in the same firm? A student in your class? Someone in your neighborhood? Someone you play Scrabble or Chess with? The parent of one of your kids classmates? A dorm roommate assigned to you? A cousin?
It seems that this is McCarthyism of the worst sort.In fact it sort of mirrors the “well you had a great grandmother who was Jewish” sort of mentality. In order to meet the expectations of those Republicans who demand “perfection” of ideological association - doesn’t it mean we should purge all of our schools of the children of such individuals who espouse insurrectionist speech. Kick them out of every job, or charitable group, or ban them from neighborhoods…for fear that hey will taint us through some sort of Svengali-like osmotic mesmerism which gets us to accept their views - even when they haven’t verbalized them to us.
This is precisely what Palin-McCain would have us believe…that some “association” automatically means approval of the ideas of the other person.
Which makes McCain’s adminition to the people who were protesting him today so much more insipid. “People don’t want us shouting at each other, they want us to talk to one another.” Well except for Obama (who is it that McCain won’t look at? Calls “That One”? Implies that he is dangerous, unknown and to be feared?). And precisely how is it that McCain is going to work with international leaders who are Social Democrats far to the left of the Republican Party in order to solve the economic causes of the Depression that we are careening toward?
New Scarecrow up:
Why isn’t the Bush administration in Conservatorship?
I finally understand what McCain meant when he referred to “My fellow prisoners”.
We are all “prisoners” of the Bush Administration and Republican Party. Even McCain ;-)
Where are you?
Pittsburgh lost it’s Public TV station to a Religious Broadcaster (Paxson) as a consequence of McCain and the Republicans threats to the FCC.
And this is also why PBS shifted over to being ballyhooers of the Republicans over the last few years. They began to sell off their “non-commercial, educational” frequencies to commercial entities and televangelists. This allowed the PBS/CPB executive salaries to “be competitive” with those in private industry. So of course WQED was happy.
The losers were the people of Pittsburgh who fought the loss of their Public TV Station to Paxson…but were ultimately crushed by the Republicans…and John McCain.
The REAL Iseman-McCain Scandal
Was the PBS station SOLD to the religious right? What did McCain have to do with it? This is interesting territory..
Goopers DID try to scare hell out of PBS- threatening to cut their funding if they didn’t give less time to the truth and more time to gooper lies…
I posted on FDL that NYC banks and investment houses were broke 18 months ago.
I said these banks were bankrupt. And was told banks can’t go bankrupt.
Yeah, right.
He was a POW? Who knew?
I’m shocked. Shocked.
Apparently Palin was spreading more hate the other day by saying that Obama tried to get the Iraqi’s not to negotiate the Status of Forces agreement with the US.
But The Iraqi FM Said Obama Never Did Any Such Thing
And get this! The Foreign Minister says that he told several newspapers that Obama never tried to influence his countries position on this…repeatedly clarified this in interviews. But the reporters (or their editors) just left that out of the articles.
How interesting!
Actually Paxson pulled out when the FCC (which still had soime dcent Commissioners back in the 1990’s) insisted that they would have to have at least 50% educational material and that they would not be allowed to evangelize or fundraise on the channel for “ministries”. The Republicans in Congress attacked…threatened to eliminate entirely the non-commercial educational spectrum if the FCC did not relent. Which they did…allowing half the time of the Station to be made available to a “Home Shopping Network”!
WQEX-Pittsburgh
Paxson Admits McCain Met with Lobbyist Iseman
BTW The whole Vicki Iseman issue was distorted into a focua on whether he had an affair with her…rather than the real issue as to whether he acted in the interest of the Pittsburgh public in encouraging Paxson’s application before the FCC.
From the article: As their campaign swirls down the electoral toilet, the McPalin people have moved well beyond chutzpah and into delusional self-parody.
It’s a beautiful thing to watch.
I keep reading this - the GOP campaign is biting the dust, down the drain, imploding, collapsing, etc. I think it may be, but the fact that people like us are aghast and disgusted with their conduct is hardly the evidence.
I recall when Reagan won the presidency I was (naively) shocked. I realized, of course, that the fact that EYE did nt know anyone who voted for him was irrelevant to the outcome. People hang out with people who are like minded.
No matter the polls, the blogs, the “news” coverage, I have deep concern that a.) McCain will win, b.) McCain will “win,” c.) Obama will will but be stripped of the title somehow, d.) there will be no election, e.) there will be an assassination, f.) I can’t imagine what because I am not good at thinking that way and I suspect most decent people aren’t.
I wish it were not so. I am fearful for this country and for the ives we would like to live, relatively free of oppression.
