How about Palin becoming the Holy Roller Circuit’s Saint Sarah - savin souls, healin the cripples, anointing the chosen, channeling the chants in the “tongues” and sellin the snake oil on the side??

Female Elmer Gantry.

There was one for real back in the early part of the century. She really pulled them in; made a fortune. Her palace burned down. Can’t remember her name.

Nothing would indicate that. I do not even think I have seen a specific poll. In the Senate race the Dem challenger will likely not beat the W-clone Cornyn, but even there the Cornyn lead is slim. The races are closer than at anytime in the recent past, but anything other than a Repub win will definitely be an upset….we can hope.

And so folks know I just didn’t make this stuff up, here it is from the horse’s own…ahmmm…mouth:

McCain: ‘After I whip his you know what’

From NBC/NJ’s Adam Aigner-Treworgy
ARLINGTON, Va. — After doing some debate prep and satellite interviews at his campaign headquarters for most of the afternoon, McCain headed downstairs to his Virginia Victory offices to rally a group of volunteers who had been making phone calls on his behalf.

He referenced recent poll numbers and the state of the race in Virginia before telling his supporters that this news should only make them want to work harder.

“After I whip his you know what in this debate, we’re going to be going out 24/7,” McCain said of his upcoming debate with Obama, but seeming to consider recent criticism that his words have been too inflammatory, he quickly told supporters to be respectful.

Watching the Mcnutjob campaign is like watching a slow train wreck. I knew it would get ugly, but the republics bullshit can still surprise.

My state of uncertainty is partly about that — how to reply — and thinking about what else they might conjure up to muck up the campaign and the decision-making process of the electorate.

They’re pushing for an emotional response and they’ve thrown away the rule book. Obama is fighting back and reassuring people he knows how to lead the country.

But, what else might be thrown into the mix to change the direction of things? I think the ball is in McCain’s court since he’s behind, but unless they have Osama bin Laden ready to present to the public …

As things are going it seems likely Obama will gain ground in states like West Virginia and Missouri and Montana and McCain isn’t likely to just let that ride. He will find the upper limit on McCain-raisers out there isn’t high enough to win and their emotional responses will wear out long before election day.

Obama can just go on as things are and remind people of the economic disaster and how that relates to all his policies.

Makes one’s head spin, doesn’t it? Sarah does not remind me of anyone I have ever known, and I have known lots of what we call “a piece of work.” She is not the normal “Merican.

And don’t forget had to purchase herself a little jet to get around Arizona. How typical is that?

On a high note, here in Central TX, Obama has a great ad about his tax plan and hits the McCain tax on health care. A good one.
