Good morning, pups. It’s MoDo, Friedman and Rich today. MoDo asks and answers: “Are We Rome? Tu Betchus!” She says the decline and fall of the American Empire echoes the experience of the Romans, who also tumbled into the trap of becoming overleveraged empire hussies. Mr. Friedman writes about “The Post-Binge World,” and says the market is re-evaluating and re-pricing every asset in the world, without mercy. It is going to do whatever it’s going to do — whichever way greed and fear tug it. Mr. Rich, in “The Terrorist Barack Hussein Obama,” says the McCain campaign has crossed the line between tough negative campaigning and inciting vigilantism, and each day the mob howls louder.

The coffee and tea are ready. Today, to celebrate the last day of triple digits in the countdown, I’ve got chocolate croissants and apple turnovers. 100 days to go, and we’re getting more steady rain. The only downside to the rain is that Hoover doesn’t want to be out in it, and behaves as though it’s our fault that he can’t go out and play. Have a great day.

Raven, Palin campaigned yesterday and did not mention Ayers according to the Caucus at the NYTimes. Palin/McCain unleashed some rabid pit bulls and they are at a loss as to what to do now. McCain tried Friday night to tamp down the comments but I think he realizes it is to late. A little bird told me he was asked to tone it down.

Emotions are raw in the campaign, where Mr. McCain’s top advisers have voiced frustration at what they said was an unfair focus by the news media on the rowdy crowds.

“I think there have been quite a few reporters recently,” said Mr. McCain’s closest adviser, Mark Salter, “who have sort of implied, or made more than implications, that somehow we’re responsible for the occasional nut who shows up and yells something about Barack Obama.”

I’m swooning towards sleep waiting for dial-up. Goodnight all.
Thank you Lurking Mods for putting up with my tirades. Though I’m not sure what your option was. I have a feeling that I’m pissing in the wind on this issue, which scares me.
I hope the next generation can annihilate all the bogus innuendoes that come with the baggage of words. We’ll have to help them without hindering with our preconceived ideas.
I promise to put this idea to rest on my entry’s on FDL. No good can come of it. I will not mention the c23t word again. Unless management lightens up and gets real. Or not. Promise.
