Even the opening prayer was politically charged. “O God, we are in a battle that is raging for the soul of this nation,” the preacher said. “You, O God, have raised up Senator John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin for such a time as this.” The preacher went on: “Help them, O God, to strengthen our economy, to keep our taxes and spending low . . . and grant them the privilege of being elected the next president and vice president.”

I wonder if that same prayer has been offered in this preacher’s church. If so, the IRS needs to take a look at the tax-exempt status…

Not that I don’t *hope* that’s true but logic tells me it’s more likely to *increase* viewership…where else will they have to turn for their daily dose of lies and hate?

But much of the political and financial world was surprised to learn this week that the man was Neel T. Kashkari, 35, a former Goldman Sachs investment banker whom Mr. Paulson has tapped to oversee the $700 billion bailout effort as interim assistant secretary for financial stability.

Mr. Kashkari, who has only six years of experience in finance and government, said he knew he seemed young to be shouldering so much responsibility for the world’s financial stability. But, he said, Mr. Paulson will oversee every step he takes.
