Thanks for linking to Feldman’s piece. That is really, really good.
I honestly don’t quite get how the Secret Service and the FBI can sit and watch some of Palin’s insinuations. I’m all for free speech, but that does not include violent incitement. Words matter.

Actually it was even more Dean Smith at North Carolina than it was Al McQuire. The “four corners” was the stall taken to extremes.

One last thing from me, I promise to hush then. But I think there’s a huge message for us even just in the title you put on this thread, Christy.

At times, I am scared witless about what they might do in their “desperation”. Cornered wild animals, even pets, can do extraordinarily dangerous, counter-intuitive things sometimes. People too. The more desperate these idgits become, the more worried I become about what they or their supporters might try to do, in their momentary insanity.

That’s why, in a thread some days ago, I urged that all of us keep an eye & ear on the hate-blogs & radio, and alert the O/B campaign if there’s something worrisome that develops in a way that we think might be missed by security. These hate-mongers take no responsibility for anything. They seem to have no compassion, no moral compass.

I regard them and what they spawn as dangerous. No joke. And I don’t panic easily. But I did witness the ’60s. Enuf said.

Thank you for this wonderful, caring community. You give me hope.
