Aloha, ES!
es!
Now can I commensurate over my BoSox’s inability to put the Angels away…? ;-)
moan and whine away ct
Good evening ES how are things in your neck of the woods??
I would urge you to wait for the thread to get a few comments under it’s belt. Let’s be a little considerate.
Please.
Eureka!
Sorry, not eclectic enough…
:-)
Heh, I won’t whine, it was a good game and went into the 12th inning…! ;-)
Digg this Post Pups for Eureka Springs!!
dugg
Dugg, nahant.
How’s the hommies over there?
Good evening folks and ES. Wild carrot sets a nice mood.
We are doing OK! The other teachers at Julies school are telling her to stay home this week, they said they will be there to teach her classes even if she decides to show up!! I think they care a bunch about her.
Good evening, sir. Just fine.. hope all is well with you and yours.
I betcha McGrumpyoldman is going to have an even tougher time shaking hands and looking at Obama after he gets hit with his Keating 5 scumbaggery.
Oh yeah, Asian markets are tanking.
-G
Yes, I Dugg it.
Good evening, folks. I am back from the Internetless, FDL-less zone where I was for the past couple of days. Can’t stay long, though. Have to be up early in the morning.
Has McInsane kicked Palin off the ticket yet?
Be careful what you ask for. *g*
What’s not to love?
Figurative pastramis on rye to both youse guys!
are you missing that computer you were on while gone?
Yes sir! I do apologize for tainting Teddy’s thread and jumping off sides on ES’s…!
Thanks Newt! when Julie is back to her self we hope to have you come over for dinner.. let me know what works for you.
Caution CT your messin with the FDL scrum S)
ES, did ya see my post today? Seems like the ‘Coalition of the Willing’ is rapidly disintegrating before our very eyes…!
Where’s the rugby players when ya need ‘em…? ;-)
Greg,
“gets hit with his Keating 5 scumbaggery”
tell me more!
that’s a fine cover, es. thank you
ES, this is just perfect music. Thanks!
I am back on the computer I have been on for the past 10 days. I was missing it, yes. I am not missing the one I left at home, except for the bookmarks.
Don’t worry, though. Nahant is going to ship me a new $4995 PC.
Aren’t you, nahant?
I want one but make mine a mac. :)
I guess our money can’t swindle criminal help like it used to. I noticed Negroponte was in Baghdad per Aswat a couple of days ago. No details of course.
Obama going medieval. Tomorrow.
I believe newtonusr is taking care of that…
How very military of you, CTuttle!
Just as soon as that Lottery money comes in!! Suz wants one also… wonder if they will give me a discount??
Anybody die unexpectedly?
So glad you like it too.. I don’t know how i found it.. it’s only been on YouTube a few days… Makes it a FDL exclusive of a sort. But they just hit a sweet spot, don’t they?
Last week, Jane started off an Oxdown diary with a one-sentence paragraph:
I share her sentiments.
Yesterday, Newsweek published an article about the meltdown by one of the leading voices of Reaganism, Francis Fukayama, and it caused me to try out Oxdown for myself.
This one turned out to be more cutting and pasting than writing. (I’ll eventually catch on.)
newton’s the guy for macs
Sure, all lottery winners are free to apply.
I am a mac.
he’s slipped back into military talk now that he’s working at the telescope – pretty soon he will be talking time using the 24hour clock and asking for leave.
Old habits die hard…! ;-)
See Newton’s # 31.
Obama is getting ready to bring the hammer down on McCain and send him into a tizzy the day before the debate.
McCain may end up proving just how “erratic” he really is.
-G
nahant is a pc only kinda guy
Probably.
This is going to everyone I know…Hiya Firepups!
I still do that, it drives my better half nuts…! ;-)
OMG!!! I’m so proud of Obama types!
I chuckled at how many long quotes you made me read about that cretin. *g*
Rayne had an interesting comment on it all.
I know. It was my feeble attempt at humor.
(Does Nahant know that the pc is integrated into The Dark Side?
CT I been a taintin steady as she goes. You have high blog ethics compared to me.
After pulling my scull out of the bay this afternoon. I stopped at the parking lot coffee shop, got an Italian ice cone and sat on the patio.
After 15 minutes a couple struck a conversation. He had lived here 20 years before moving inland a ways. He wanted to know my politics so I really layed it on him and we laughed in the sun about all the rot. He and wifey had seen Religulous with Bill. Said I had to see it and get back to him.
Hey Chris!
I’m going to have a smile all day, reading this. And McCheese gets to soak it in for a day before the debate.
Poor john :-(
Loo Hoo, I thought of you in particular when I posted tonight’s song.. Hope you listen to it tonight or tomorrow… and tell me if I was close to being right when I thought you would enjoy it.
recommended and looking forward to more wigwam
Oh, Newt, me too! Smile and smile! I’ll be looking and lurking all day tomorrow…
It is official I just got this email from Obama:
Yes, medieval, I’ve been stamping my cute little feet screaming for it.
He’s gonna blowwwwwwwww…….!
Obama has planted the seed about McDillhole being erratic and unstable….
-G
Dark side of what???
Dugg that!
And recommended it!
And left a comment!
*jangling keys*
Pretty damn good timing on the video – and he’s getting MSM coverage on the video before it is even released – PLUS the way it’s being released, he’s only paying for production costs, not air time.
I’ll volunteer for one if it creates enough for a discount *she said, holding out her hands*
THE Dark Side
hey gw – how ya been?
In Rugby they say “way to take the hit man”.
McCain looks like condemned deli meat. I worry that he really will.
I’d trade that for a principled campaign, but he has made that pretty much impossible. And anyway, he is out of time.
And being a scorpio I have both a mac and pc.
maybe McSame will pull out of the debate so he can concentrate on trying again to save the economy…
or because Katie Couric was so mean to Sarah Palin…
i’ll say! what i great choice. i just swooned into it.
Hiya, Christene!
REM on Austin City Limits — PBS now!
Hey!
Moi…? ;-)
Hey Green!
Hey back at you.
Well if the Lottery winnings are enormous enough I would you one also… that is if your nice to me(:>))
If you’re PC from the get-go, I wouldn’t try to persuade.
But you, Mary – you need no persuading.
Obama should hand McNoodles some Capatain Queeg balls when they shake before the debate.
-G
smile.
Nate Silver (fivethirtyeight.com) now projects Obama winning in Nov. with:
– 87.4% likelihood
– 339.7 to 198.3 electoral votes
– 51.5% to 47% popular vote.
dKos has Obama now leading in the poll 52% to 40%.
Hiya! Still can’t get over SNL and laughed my ass off again at the replaying…
And he should say real loud, can I call you John? I’m just Keating you.
Makes sleeping tonight more likely.
I missed it, will have to watch it on the YouTubes.
And now, I am turning into a pumpkin.
nite, all.
So you got the job up-top CTuttle?
And then high five him.
lincoln together next week and debate ethics
and then give him a terrorist bump.
nite!

g’nite gsd
freaking about my financial future. changing some stuff up as a result. busy chatting with my congressman’s aides (Doggett the Great).
getting some more boxes unpacked. now i’m creating a guest room – a friend’s visiting from seattle for a week for a weekend dance therapy conference and then we get to hang for a few days. i found a bedroom set of furniture i like at a garage sale in the neighborhood yesterday for $175 and it’s now installed – very sweet – it just needs a mattress and a couple of lamps and she should be really comfortable. i moved in may and love the house. steep learning curve though on being a home owner.
how are you settling in?
Coolio.
Night pups.
nite sleepy pups who are off to beddy bye!! sleep well tonight!
Suzanne, and Friends at the Helm,
Fact, that awful threat, and laughter, are the only things keeping me from weeping. What a week this was. SNL, wonderful!
Buen sur mon ami and provide scads of informsative links to boot.
portland news had a story about how the number of garage sales and rumage sales are up – people needing cash selling stuff
Somehow I don’t think this particular video will have a problem going viral.
Aloha, Loo Hoo!
Wheres da boat Christine?? I mean at the HELM of what?? Do we have a “LakeLiner” here?
I forgot to set my tivo for SNL.
hey girl,
i’ll be in rancho cordova on tues, the 14th. i get in early afternoon and leave again early morning sunday, the 19th. shall we play? it looks like the last time i’ll be in the sacramento area for probly quite a while. will you be in town?
why would a scorpio have both a mac and a pc?
I do aim to please…! 8-)
Repeat that out loud (quickly) three times. *g*
“and when she was good, she was very, very good”
Yes! Walkies on the river. The weather is amazing.
Yes, we do have them: Christy and Jane.
Chris, I feel the same way. Company of like-minded people is very cheering. Thank you to all of you here.
g’nite loohoo (and any other leaving sleepy pup i may have missed)
Now that sounds like a familiar line(:>))
Please don’t miss this! I had to watch it twice, and cried AND laughed.
Competence on parade.
Margot — big love for Ohio! I’m voting at the BOE tomorrow!
The big yuk… is what the $850 billion gamblers bailout giveaway does not do…instill confidence in the markets, banks and investors. Tommorrows tank.
Cindy Sheehan should be waxing Nancy Pelosi all over the Bay Area with her wastefull bailout bill. Obama had CAin the bag, It is time for more progressives Nancy owes us bigtime and we want her seat in congress for Cindy Sheehan.
i don’t think this woman would have sold this furniture – she clearly loved it so much, but she’s getting a divorce and needs to move into a smaller place. this was her bedroom furniture as a child and then her daughter’s and she’s really happy i bought it and will keep it all together. i’ll invite her over to see it when i’ve got it all assembled.
Must I…? ;-)
i’ll call you when i get in. yay!
Morning/evening, pups (as the case may be be) -
This sounds like some extremely good news for many folks who may be facing foreclosure:
http://www.oregonlive.com/news….._modi.html
i didn’t see it either. i’ll be back. going to watch it now.
Did you meet Suke yet?
who’s suke? her in texas?
HERE in texas?
it helps when selling something loved to know that it will be loved by the person who buys it.
This is certainly more good news…
At least there’s a squareneck in this . . . as ES’ picks go, this is better n the average unknown bunch of esoterica usually posted.
And no, I DON’T usually like his picks . . . . this one, though . . . at least harmony, acoustic pickin, and as I said, a dobro . . . . it’s palatable.
Can we get more americana and grass and folkie such as from Strawberry Music Fest, Grey Fox, Hardly Strickly, and a thousand other fests?
The club scene and recording scene of alt rock/jazz/pop/indie/international don’t move me . . . Sorry, but it’s how I feel ES . . . . I’m 55, not 25.
No. Good golly.. what a mess we are in… the front page of aljazeera. *sigh*
iraq and turkey are at it again.
New little dog. Half doxie and jack russell. Full of energy. Likes to walk. Chases turkey and deer.
Wow.. that almost sounds to good to be true.
Dude, I like a New York steak blood rare and a huge baked potato. But some nights I have pasta. Or chicken. Or Mex.
And I’ll be 50 pretty darned quick.
The Turks are still miffed at the 15 Turkish KIA…!
Another stellar Dkos diary by devilstower. It concludes:
Emphasis mine.
Is that the dog you had a picture of on your facebook page Mary??
OH noseys you will be on the other side of the slippery slope!
no, not met suke. i was there last in july so he must be newer than that. i’ll look forward to it.
Well, I’m pretty stupid. So I feel lucky to have made it this far.
Wow…that is excellent news. Let’s hope that all the mortgages in trouble can be reset. Why not let people stay and pay instead of walk? That makes the toxic paper we are buying in the bailout worth somethong.
I promise to keep you guessing at what I might post next.. Lawd knows I am.
Dude, I am much closer to 55 than 25… and you send me some quality recording/youtubes of festivals and I promise I will consider them.. Crappy recording quality keeps me from posting most of my favorite stuff .. especially live festival etc.
You are darn right you are, you support Apples instead on making pies out of them (:>))
mea culpa
Yep. She is keeping us young. She is the most messy critter I have ever lived with. She moves our shoes around the house, loves to tear up paper, brings acorns inside and eats them, beats up the other dog regularly (he is in love with her) barks at the deaf old kitty and we love her.
Yeah, know exactly what ya mean. To attempt a paraphrase: been bad news so long, it sounds like good news to me. *g*
Tsk, tsk, your one true Achilles’ heel… ;-)
Oh crap thanks so much for reminding me. Last day of early voting for Ohio. I tried last week but the lines were too long, and I’d just been to the dentist, not a good combo.
I congratulate myself, though, while I’m not scanning for spyware and trojan horses and worms and virii.
nahant, there are 4 apple trees at the new house. when the landlord is out this week (she has an artist’s studio between this place and the creek) i’ll ask her what kinda apples they are – she took home a huge basket of em last week.
i hope they are cooking apples so i can make applesauce and pies and cobblers.
teehee.
I’ve had no probs in that department either…! 8-P
I was gonna say ‘console’ instead of congratulate, but that’s just vanity.
Hoss, I like all those things, and I cooked for a living for 20 years.
And I did radio and tv, too . . . and I produced programming interviewing bands, recording them, and airing them.
And I like LOTS of music . . . I don’t like what ES brings to the table, simple.
Don’t hate me cuz you THINK I’m intolerant . . . I’m not. *G*
I’m fussy and opinionated, though . . . and I know what I like, and don’t.
I’ve earned that right to feel that way, and say so, I think. *G*
Thanks for your comment . . . *G*
When they toss me out for having an opinion, I’ll know I’m in the wrong place . . . 70707070707
Guess I won’t be bringing my 12lb wonder over to your house!! If Julie is doing well enough I may be up your way next weekend for my granddaughter’s sixth B-day. If there is time Maybe we can meetup??? I am not sure yet as my daughter like to monopolies my time. I will poke you on facebook later when I know more..
Or just quick fried apples… butter, cinnamon, brown sugar. Mmmmmm mm.
What are those?
707!
It doesn’t need to be cooking apples for applesauce… pies and other uses do call for firmer and tarter apples like Granny Smiths or MacIntoshes…! ;-)
Not at all.
Differnt strokes.
Sounds good I was looking at apples this week end while at Safeway, but We have to watch Julie’s diet and I am not sure she should have apple pie unless I can find a low fat recipie!!
Larue needs a good sound board with direct pickup at all instruments. Beyong that I am guessing. I learned the hard way producing public access programs.
Good! You can bring your dawg. Suke will behave. She only weighs about 15 pounds. Maybe.
Don’t know, but I’m told that they eat your processor cycles by the bushel basket, cost a hefty fee, and are constantly trying to improve themselves over teh internets.
I will look into it and report back.
Those are the best combination of apples for pie! The Mac’s turn into a great sauce while the Granny Smiths hold up to the cooking and hold their shape and the two flavors just mingle so well ….
*mouth starting to water* oh yeah – over vanilla ice cream. i’m gonna get my pod and unpack my new ice cream/yogurt maker and make some vanilla ice cream and spoon over the top lotsa hot apple chunks with cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and a dash of raisins melded all gooey hot – crap, i’m hungry now.
Exactly.. if artists only painted/played what everyone liked (as if that’s possible or even a worthwhile goal).. things would get boring mighty quickly.
Have you ever been to applehill up in the Placerville area. Amazing apples. Some I have never heard of like Alabama blacks. My husband makes the best apple pie I have ever eaten. He makes the crust with vodka instead of water. Keeps it flakey.
Yer on yer own hoss . . . and I appreciate your reply.
I gave the genres I like . . .
And any clips from a limited source like Youtube I like, they usually go to another person in here cuz I have a lot in common with her tastes . . . . music wise . . . *G*
You just do what you do, I’ll try and let it ride and scroll on.
It IS a shame, and I concur, you and others can’t link all our private stashes of our own music libraries . . .
I’d blow yer mind . . . 20’s to now . . . and there wouldn’t BE any club euro like synth in the bunch . . . *G*
Sorry I got a hinkie up my butt, I’ll try and cool my jets . . . ;-)
Life’s hard enuff anymore without snarking at other progressives . . . but that’s what we seem to do (there’s others in here MUCH worse than me about other topics)!!! LOLOLOL
And ‘almost’ 50? Yer killin me, KID! LOLOLOL *G*
I bow . . . yer wow is as good as anyone else’s . . . true. *SMILE*
look on the diabetic cookbooks on line – many of their stuff is low sugar/low fat adaptions of favorite recipes.
i learned to use apple juice instead of sugar when cooking for my mom, who cut all sugar and white carbs when she had a pre-diabetes scare a couple years ago.
Tried a new apple pie recipe from Southern Living last week; you might want to try the following:
1. Add 2 T. apple jelly to the filling mix
2. Recipe called for 4 1/2 # apples = wonderful mounded appearance to finished product
3. Substitute chilled apple cider for ice water in crust
Totally yummy!
Tucker!
Thanks Suz Will do. Funny thing is her cholesterol is 91 so go figure??
just watched the debate on snl. absolutely hysterical.
Sounds good!! Saved recipie
Heh, that’s almost abnormally low, nahant! 120 is considered an optimum level…!
Oh I like almost everything Suz posts.. but it wouldn’t be very interesting if we both chased the same hoedown all the time now would it? You don’t have to answer…. just quit trying to put me in one box.. it’s your biggest mistake. *g* I’m a multi out of the box kind of guy.
Anyone else saying to themselves.. now why didn’t I think of that?
I know and because of that they want her number down to 70??? Will not be easy as we made diet changes after she had the stent put in last June!!
Well, my Sweetie is home from a weekend retreat on Oahu (at a Hilton!) with the local women’s group from the Salvation Army… Time to make up for lost time! Tomorrow’s our 18th anniversary to boot…! Aloha Oe!!!
my mom went back to a more pure way of eating and made adaptations she still uses – like apple juice and yukon gold for potatoes, lotsa veggies, and she takes a tablespoon of cinnamon a day (she mixes it in her morning plain yogurt) – cinnamon is used by the chinese to help regulate blood sugar
Nite CT.
Early voting isn’t allowed in michigan. Which really sucks, since i think the lines at the polls are going to be bloody well HUGE this year. Which means i’ll have to get up early especially if i’m going to be working that day too.
They weren’t bad in 06, but in 04’s election i was in line for a solid hour or two and i’d been lucky enough to have the day OFF! I expect it to be worse this year. The good thing is there were poll watchers in 06, and i expect more of the same this year. Generally a good feeling all around then too.
A young Bill O’Reilly.
Congratulations CT to you and your Lady!!You go and take good care of your sweetie CT. Julie and I will be having our 17th on the 17th… Hoping the next year will be a lot better than this has been for both of us!!
*raising hand and vouching for that*
i like to think we play off each other well es – mixing up our mixing it up
nite tuttle
nahant – I hope you are mistaken about those numbers. Cholesterol research shows that if you go below 140 your risk of strokes and heart attacks goes up exponentially the lower it goes. DO NOT do anything more to lower her cholesterol unless you double check with her cardiologist.
You NEED to have some cholesterol – it carries nutrients to your brain and to your muscles, including the heart muscle. That’s why too low is just as dangerous as too high!!
I want to thank and blame Suz for the bowl of ice cream I am indulging in right now.
Me too….)
ET, i’ll probably be like you by the time i’m your age. :P
Genre? WHAT genre? I like ‘em all, justabout. My mp3 folders of d00m reflect that and then some.
Watch late nite last night Ditty Bops
This might have been more to your taste late night Friday $700 billion bailout music.
I will tell Julie about that!!
ahola and happy happy joy joy
No, you got that wrong, it’s not the process, it’s the package! *G*
Good on you for your experience producing public access. In my time, at a junior college where I took classes that came with NPR and PBS stations I worked for, I often had to hang two ambient mics direct to an Atari 800 without a mixer.
Other times, I got to take a soundboard feed, mix that thru an 8 track mixer, and feed THAT to a 4 channel Atari 800. Then mix it down and lose a generation back at the station.
It was all OLD school now . . . but again, I’m not an engineer, just fussy about the KIND of music I like . . . been like that since I was 12 years old . . . grew up then in the Bay Area.
AM radio had it all going on, from ‘64 on . . . . talk about mixed music, and eclectic . . . folk, folk rock, rock, latino, gospel, afro/american . . . in the Bay Area, you’d go from Jefferson Airplane Takes Off, to The Weavers, to Lydia Pense, to Tower Of Power, to Commander Cody to Taj Mahal, to John Lee Hooker, to The Dead, New Riders, and more . . . not to mention Asleep At The Wheel, Beautiful Day, and legions of other bands from across the land . . they all came to the Bay Area . . . and the scene in clubs was ripe and rowdy . . .
And then, synth’s came into play . . . ;-) And STILL The Tubes, Leilah And The Snakes, Talking Heads and more were kewl . .
And somehow, somewhere, it all changed and got to be bad music . . . and much of it still is . . .
And I’ve gone back to festivals, with americana and the grasses new and blue and progressive, and the acoustic sound and feel to see and hear people harmonize in layers, 4 deep at times, and pick with the knowledge of the fretboard and do music from the 20’s to now . . . and rip it.
Hell, I saw Bela Fleck, Jean Luc Ponty and STANLEY PHREAKING CLARKE, doing acoustic, in fall of ‘05. My GOHD that was church. Never seen anything like it, and I’d SEEN Clarke on electric, and Bela with others, at different times.
But this one, TRIO, was off the hook and what Clarke can do with a dawghouse bass is insane!! *G*
Music good, so is phud. I’ll hush, now . . . ;-)
I know and we have been talking to the cardiologist about that. We will be seeing him again this week so I will double check. But her episode was caused by plaque build up in the artery next to the one where the stent was put in!!
Good eating, sleeping and blogging…good night number two.
what part of the country do you live in? i guess i missed hearing what happened to julie. what’s the stent for?
It’d be fun to make two identical crust recipes at the same time changing only the liquid….just to see if there is a noticeable taste/texture difference. That use of vodka in the crust also sounds interesting. Change that to *three* crust recipes simultaneously. *g*
makes up for all those cakes i’ve had to make and eat, dood (laughing)
Just guessing here, but I would think the ditties would be to old of a sound.. even for old Larue. *g* And I couldn’t guess why Death Cab For Cutie wouldn’t melt his butter for a few minutes, but it wont.
Dam it’s pumpkin time again … so quickly the evening goes by… Good night Pups and sleep well when you get there.
POOF
((((marymccurnin))) ;~D
nite nahant
I get that. I have a degree in Nutrition and Biochemistry. I also have a stent. I know what I am talking about!
Either you have misunderstood the numbers or someone is totally messed up. Getting her cholesterol that low can kill her!
Besides, cholesterol is not the real problem here. Have them check her CRP and homocysteine levels. The CRP measures inflammation – which is truly the real problem. Inflammation causes tiny tears in the blood vessels (and a lot of other damage). The placques are just the body’s way of trying to heal those. If she is having this much problem, you need to get the inflammation under control. Getting her cholesterol down that low is NOT THE WAY!
Homocysteine levels will also tell some information about the health of certain enzymes that help the heart function more effectively. If you can talk the doctor into it also do a ‘fasting insulin level’. If that number is greater than 10, have her start taking Vanadyl Sulfate, at least 100 mg per day and if she can tolerate it, 150 per day. Wait 4 weeks and test the insulin level again. Get it down below 10. That reduces the inflammation and will do more to protect her heart than messing with her cholesterol at this point.
g’nite pups – time for me to head out too.
I love Pink Lady apples. how do they cook?
Suzanne, did your landlord give you any tips on how best to store the apples through the winter. My apples and pears always go soft within a couple of months.
Oh, and have her start taking CoenzymeQ10 too.
Bay area! She had a blockage in an artery in her heart and the Docs put a stent in last June then she had a mild heart attack last Monday and they did an angioplasty on the artery just to the bottom of where they meet and had put the stent in last June… reason they want her cholesterol so low!
A little faster than most. SO delicate and delicious.
Thanks for the info Loky Will check that out with her doc!!
Have never heard of that variety…..are they “in” right now and do you know what part of the country grows them?
Braeburn is another variety I’d never seen before that Southern Living recipe. Did find some of them in a grocery store recently and bought one just to taste test; haven’t tried it yet.
217’s for you.
{{{nahant and julie)))
Thanks, ES. Nice to see you.
i’m off to beddybye. gnite pups. see ya by and by.
Hmm I have to google that for you, wac. I just remember getting them in “the box” when I used to have organic fruit and veggies delivered. If you can find them, try them! So sweet/tart, the best I’ve ever had.
The Ditties did an acoustical rag like the roaring tweenties…but may be to eclectic and original. G)
Hmm. Australia.
AR has a really wonderful dense red apple variety called, Arkansas Blacks. Can’t buy them in regular stores, even in AR. It’s a heavy firm red apple.
I don’t know where pinks grow, but they are in the stores much of the year around here.. lighter than most, but tasty.
Sweet dreams nahant and suz – am off to dreamland too. Thanks ES for finding that great video and another memorable late late nite. zzzzzzz -
Well.. it’s pumpkin time in the Ozarks..
G’ night fabulous firedogs.
If anyone is still interested in apples, here’s more:
The Pink Lady® Brand Cripps Pink Variety as grown in the United States now has a somewhat limited season. The fruit is harvested in early to mid October in California and later (around the end of October into early November) in the Northwest.
Following harvest, the fruit often goes into storage for a ‘finishing period’ during which the sugar becomes more in balance. Therefore, in some seasons, the Pink Lady® Brand Cripps Pink Variety apples grown in California may not be available until around the mid-November with the fruit from the Northwest coming to the supermarket around a month later and lasting through May. As the production increases, an increasing use of controlled atmosphere storage has the potential of extending the season.
