I read the Kit bombed remark. Aren’t there enough people on Capitol Hill in need to start their own AA group? I have watched Kit Bond, in those disgraceful camel jackets, get more and more red-veined and bleary-eyed as the years have prgressed. Yet, the people of Missouri keep sending the old lush back. I live here and they do it with no help from me.

A little question:

I’ve heard McCain and his surrogates say throughout his campaign, ” McCain has won wars, he was there, and he knows how to win this one “.

Gov Palin states this during the VP debate, ” John McCain knows how to win wars, John has won wars, he has been there and knows how to win this one”.
(I guess Afganistan would make two but we are counting in palinism)

Can anyone tell me what war or wars John McCain has won?

Also, where did McCain get this war winning education?

I, too, have been struck by the total inertness of the baby. He has been totally limp without facial expression even during all the chaos around him, no sign of distress. I also thought about his being medicated — benadryl?

I had 5 children, none “special needs”. I could never have taken them into such surroundings at 6 months old without their becoming terrified, kicking and crying.

Another thing entirely: Palin’s remark about understanding the parents’ worry: kids going to college, “how we gonna pay for it??”. Her oldest 2 didn’t worry her much in that regard.

I think about a third of those that say Palin “won” are those that think that if she did better than expectations she “won”. That would mean the remainder are the brain-dead idealogues.

So if you asked people who actually won the debate if you didn’t know Palin before the debate…it would be about 75% to 25%.

I would like to see the reaction if Sarah said “you betcha” to the Prime Minister of Great Britain. The air would freeze.

Miss South Carolina liked “such as”. She used it oddly as a predicate.

Palin used also excessively and often incorrectly also such as.

Or what if she asked to call them all by first names during that first handshake?
Imagining a future with Palin/McCain in it is bleak. I shudder. I say a mantra that Obama/Biden will win.

somebody needs to call them out — and i was hoping biden would- on this bullshit that McCain “sounded the alarm” about fannie Mae & Freddie Mac. McCain co-sponsored a bill after it was already dead. one area where mccain & bush disagree; bush opposed the house version of that bill as being too weak. good thing at DKos, I think. i’ll get the link. but they’re really harping on this and they’re going to continue to do so and make it sound like McCain was sounding the alarum about what caused the crisis we’re in.
