I read pretty much all the newspapers to do the Swim edition.
- It’s the Senate’s turn today.
- Bowers predicts it will pass.
- House will vote again Thursday.
- Cringe-o-rama: more Couric and Palin.
- And she won’t "solely blame man’s activities" for climate change.
- Wingnuts preparing the battlefield for Thursday.
- The House GOP: hysterical maiden aunts at a Chippendale’s concert.
- McSame in MO; Obama in WI.
- Both will be returning to DC to vote.

Count me in to the Georgetown conservative cocktail circuit.
KKKathleen, your place or mine?
BT, it’s just so awesome that you read all the papers. That will really help people keep their jobs and keep Main Street making money so we can get the nasty books out of the library and help God get the pipeline in Alaska.
What happens if the Senate is not able to pass the bill? Besides Americans laughing their asses off, will Harry Reid give us an “Ooopsie” and then say, “You’re on your own Wall Street! We tried! We really did!”.
Great theater this week. ;-)
Does the John Birch society still have a publication.
2/3 of these critters are not up for re-election and their nose rings are all polished up
She can’t name a singe freakin’ newspaper. The home town weekly would have been a completely acceptable answer.
“Um, all of em, any of em that uh have been in front of me all these years.”
This woman can not get more pathetic. What are the odds they have just decided to throw this election, blame the economic crash on Obama and the Dems, and just go for 2010 and 2012?
OLD FUK HAS HIS MARCHING ORDERS

I’m still wondering about this voice vote on Bernie Sanders’ amendment to add a tax. Someone needs to put a mike in front of Reid’s mouth to see if any sound comes out as he mouths a yes vote.
or magazine………..maybe she does NOT know what a periodical is
a JOURNALISM GRAD………………shudder
New Quinnipiac University polls today. Huge shift toward Obama in key states.
Florida: O-51 M-43
Ohio: O-50 M-42
Penn: O-54 M-39

Need to maintain these kinds of numbers in order to combat all the cheating Repubes will attempt. It’s crunch time.
I hope they have. I’m still worried about them stealing it. That’s why Obama needs to be waaayyy ahead in the polls before I’ll relax.
BT
0ne nit to pick. You say
I believe she actually said
Brokaw will have his work cut out for him,no?
Off to get ready for work. See all later.
I thought we had settled this. Sarah uses all the mediums. Including another newly discovered e-mail account.
Sunday on Meet The Press, Tom Brokaw moderated a debate between McCain strategist Steve Schmidt and Obama strategist David Axelrod on topics ranging from Iraq to the Wall Street bailout. At the end, Tom Brokaw did something strange. He opted to give himself the last word and told the audience:
In fairness to everybody here, I’m just going to end on one note. And that is that we continue to poll on who’s best equipped to be Commander in Chief, and John McCain continues to lead in that category despite the criticism from Barack Obama by a factor of 53 to 42 percent in our latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll. Gentlemen, thank you very much.1
We checked, and the latest NBC poll actually has no question about Commander in Chief.2 We contacted NBC about this, and it turns out Brokaw was referring to a poll taken weeks ago–right after the Republican convention and well before Friday’s big national security debate.3 And in each of NBC’s last two polls, Americans chose Obama over McCain.4
Can you email Tom Brokaw today? Let him know that this election is very close, and we need journalists to be responsible. Giving himself the last word in the debate, and citing an outdated poll number as if it was current, was a mistake. As a responsible journalist, he should apologize for both.
Here’s where to contact him:

My first reaction to that deal was it might be a trap, since most Repubes will say, “Damn right woman! Ya don’t need ta be reedin no stinkin LIBRUL media!” With further thought, I suppose some that are already voting for the Repube ticket that’ll feel this way, but undecideds probably won’t think that for the most part and might actually look at her lack of knowledge a bad thing.
For Repubs…
Shrub was the one they wanted to have a beer with.
Mooselini is the one they want to git them their beers.
The New American
have a good one!!
Yes, MSM
Mornin, BT, pups. I got nothing. Except contempt for these worthless bastards.
good mornin…………stop em in their tracks!!!
JBS. Just BullShit.
Somewhere down the line they may come to rue the day that $1,000 seemed too high a price to pay to cover-up all their little nasty secrets.
#24’s for you.
Better watch it, the mods’ll get on ya fer violent content.
Me too. I’m Elmer Fudd ready. Where are the wabbits?!!!!
Brokaw has been a BigMoney hack for decades. It’s so great to see him finally being exposed.
During the Dem convention, Brokaw actually called Obama “presumptuous” because there was a SkyCam being used for the broadcast. He was totally serious and talked about at length. It was pointed out to Tommy-boy that the networks requested the camera and paid for it, and Obama had noting to do with it. Brokaw stuck to his guns. Olbermann was left in stunned silence, and shortly after Olbermann gets booted from campaign anchoring at Brokaw’s request (proven yesterday in a NYT article).
I’ve put the link to this YouTube vid here before but gotta run at the moment.
If we gathered all the contempt held by denizens of the Lake in one big pile, it just might be enough to bury the mothers for all of eternity.
The way, I believe, to combat this is sign the petition at
http://www.thepetitionsite.com…..-moderator
and then organize a boycot of the sponsors of Meet the press
I do not know how many times I have yelled at these smucks. “Anything on the Internet toobz can, and will be held against you.”
If you need security to conceal your criminal conspiracies, at least use VPN or SSH. Of course, Sarah used a very “weak” password. There is a neo-con strategy with e-mails, obviously, to hide them. There are seven hundred billion missing e-mail of KKKarl and Kommander Guy. Missouri’s Governor has his own e-mail problems. This is a trend.

LMAO
Okay, going to work with the rest of the schmucks of America. ;-)
An interesting read on the financial rescue:

I am doubting that Sarah can read.
Free Film – “Money As Debt”
This Wednesday, Oct. 1, 8:00pm
Government, corporate and household debt has reached astronomical proportions. Where did all this money come from? How could there be that much money to lend? The answer is…there isn’t. Today, money is debt. This entertaining, animated feature explains today’s magically perverse debt money system. (2006, 47 mins). More film info. The film is shown in the outdoor courtyard at Cafe Bohemia, 937 Central Ave., St. Petersburg.
This is on my agenda for this evening. Brought to you by St Pete For Peace. I think it will be a good time to open a discussion on how we can band together as a community seein’s how our elected officials are dead set on throwing us under the f*kin’ bus.
Ammon Hennacy was once arrested on a misdemeanor charge and when he repeatedly answered “Anarchy” each time the judge asked for his plea the judge finally asked him, “What do you mean by anarchy?”, Ammon replied, “An anarchist is anybody who doesn’t need a cop to tell him what to do.” As told by Utah Phillips.
I think that if mcsame wins it’ll be due to the combination of racism and theft. race is still the big wildcard here…. and one that really frightens me. if the racists defy the polls (because they are lying to them and to themselves), then we are in more trouble than we can imagine as a country.
there was a unanimous consent agreement in the senate yesterday on the
selloutbailout legislation. here is my summary of the UC and today’s schedule as i understand them – but i could be wrong, so i’ve posted the text of the UC and other details in a comment on ari’s diary, “Senate to Vote on Bailout Today.”the schedule, as outlined by durbin on the senate floor is as follows:
my understanding of the unanimous consent agreement is that if the senate leaders have an agreement, senator dodd will introduce the legislation at some point after the debate on h.r.7081 and as reported the only amendment to be permitted is sanders’.
further details:
2.5 hours of debate (90 min of debate on dodd’s legislation, 60 min on sanders’ amendment)
sanders’ amendment is a voice vote
dodd legislation requires 60 votes to pass
* i have not been able to find the actual text of the legislation that may be voted on today.
bad dog links to page that links to Malkin without warning. no page hits for insane woman, please.
Thanks, selise. I just put up an Oxdown diary with more from Sanders’ website about his amendment. He really slams Paulson in his statement there.
Having a voice vote on the amendment is really intriguing. I want to hope that means Reid wants to include the amendment, but there really is nothing in Reid’s previous behavior to make me think he has this kind of courage.
The ‘liberal (corporate) media?’ are itching to snake Obama in a huge damaging way as the election draws near… no matter how much chattering goes against McCain they will reverse course and attack Obama at the last minute. Remember this is the media that promoted the propaganda for Bush and all Republicans for the last eight years.
Foothillsmike, SadlyYes I signed and here is my comment
Has Tom read the news at all for the last few years. Cheerleader media Hacks who sold this war to us should pay a special tax to pay for it. I think that everyone with a job in the media should have their kids drafted to make sure that the newscoverage is fair.
I bet if Tom’s kids were in Iraq stories of solders being electrocuted by bad KBR wiring or solders waiting for bullet proof vest, armoured humves etc would get a lot more air time.
“Hey Sarah! I can see the end of your political career from my house!”
People like Brokow think that their blood, and the blood of their kin, is too precious to give for Amerika.
I’d like to give Sardonicus and Barnacle a one-way ticket to Kirkuk.
The senate version is even “better” than the House version. The senate bill GIVES MORE TAX CUTS TO CORPORATIONS!
Beautiful! They are bound and determined to stick US with the tax bill while ensuring that NONE of their best buddies in finance and business have to pay a dime, and can even be further enriched by this crime against the People of the United States.
I think the children of politicians the top 1% tax payers and the MSM should all be drafted into a special first to go into combat unit. Then only wars that were necessary would be fought decades of peace would result and America would be the envy of the world again:)
Ok thats depressing:(
Works for me.
Meant for TCU at 45. Damn.
Might just be a poison pill to ensure it doesn’t pass. Hey, a guy can hope, right?
Geez, did the Gestapo start roundin’ up Firepups or something?
he goes to the BILDERBERG meetings every year with Jack Welch,he once talked about it on air
can these be undone, when Sen Obama is elected?
How about we pay for the bailout by making legal fees, speeding tickets proportionate to income?
A director of the Finnish telecommunications giant, Nokia, has received what is believed to be the most expensive speeding ticket ever.
Anssi Vanjoki, 44, has been ordered to pay a fine of 116,000 euros ($103,600) after being caught breaking the speed limit on his Harley Davidson motorbike in the capital, Helsinki, in October last year.

Come to think of it, since corporations pay little or no taxes anyhow, maybe we’re gonna start payin’ ‘em a yearly stipend.
Good Morning Blue Texan and Firedogs,
McCains to auction 13 bedroom mansion in October
who in bloody hell blithely advertises the fact they own a 13 bedroom mansion at the height of the biggest financial crisis since the Great Depression ?!?!?
seriously, does someone want to give Cindy Steve Schmidts’s phone number ??
unfreakin’ believable
ps – there’s supposed to be a video over at CNN, but I couldn’t get it to work
hahahahahahahhha
needed laugh …thanks
What the local Klan meeting is to blue collar for him?
Well were else are we going to get the money? Or ae we going to devalue the Dollar to the level of the Mexican Peso?
A poison pill amongst these bastards in the Senate? The very same Senate that was so fast and determined to pass the FISA amendment? The very same Senate that NEVER stood up to Bush on ANYTHING? I think not. The Senate is worse than the House – more elite and wealthy. They are helping their own with this and will happily ignore the calls because too many of them are NOT up for re-election this November.
The only acceptable bailout bill to me is one that is paid for, first and foremost, by the wealthy bastards and criminals that did this crap in the first place.
Jesus! Tax cuts on top of this shit?! Tax cuts! They really DO want to entirely bankrupt the government and kill ALL services.
great diary, recommended.
in addition to your diary, “Bernie Sanders to Henry Paulson and the rest of the rich: “You broke it, you pay for it.” i’ve also recommended hugh’s diary from last night, “The compromise bill was the Paulson plan“
and now i see that DBaker has just put up a must read: “Bill Clinton defends Phil Gramm“:
I get a “general error” in the vid space. Maybe they pulled it for being innapropriate. Geez, that would mean there’s somebody with a brain workin’ there. 13 bedrooms? Hot and cold running hookers? Who the fuck needs 13 bedrooms.
Only when you don’t have a Congress that is all in for their best buddies on Wall Street. Afterall, Obama is racing back to DC TO VOTE FOR THIS BILL!
IF he strips the tax cuts for corporations out of it, then we’ll see if he is worthy of the Presidency. If he goes along to get along with the cozy elite bastards who wrote this bill, then he is beyond redemption.
Great Catch My question is who sells a home in this market? Is this a give away to one of his kids which I can understand.
Or is the current economy crapping out for John personally is Cindy doing a forced home sale to meet a margin call?
Whats the price offered? Is it priced to sell quick in this market?
Clinton is a criminal deregulator Wall Street dick suck only second to Bush Jr. He went on the deregulation binge to kiss up to his owners on Wall Street, plain and simple.
I don’t give a crap what he says anymore. He is fully complicit in this crime.
The House in conference with the Senate can remove the tax breaks from the bill.
Good point. Time to try and bring down the House server again with emails demanding they strip ANY corporate giveaways from any bill that comes from the Senate. NO MORE RICH MAN TAX CUTS!
i agree.
Today is one of the 4 times a year you can get withdraw money from your hedgefund lots of hedge funds are not doing to well does McCain know something that we don’t about the market and is trying to hoard cash for the winter even if it means selling a home in this market?
Hope Christy calls to man the phones.
article states currently valued at $12 million – and they are using an auction house – SOP for the superich
but I too was wondering about the timing – vis-a-vis shorts
A practicing Satanist?
But what would a house like that have gone for before the housing collapse? What does a similar house go for in that neighborhood Any Pups in the area who know realestate?
oh please this is peanuts for her,the woman spends 750,000…$$$$ PER MONTH on her AMEX per month……they dont have to buy on margin
he has gone full bore nut job too…loose cannon mouth,CRAVING the oval office again
about the timing – vis-a-vis shorts
Shorts I am sorry I’m not following you realestate is not my area of expertise.
Nobody should buy on margin its a great way to lose money if a stock goes down.
But if a stock goes up your profits go up. Lots of idiot hedgefund Master of the universe types richer than Cindy are in trouble now because being rich was not enough they had to risk it all to be super rich.
true dat…never underestimate greed
