The headline page of english Pravda has some interesting headlines, Seems Russia is $30 billions better off after arms deal. Also don’t miss (scroll down) the report of US debt burdens from this administration (there is one error, if $700 billions raises the debt ceiling to $11,315 Billions, the current debt is running $10,615 Billions not the $8,300 Billions reported (all figures translated from trillions to billions for your computing ease), it is so hard believing anything out of the DC these days). Good morning, pups. It’s Dowd, Friedman, Kristof and Rich this morning. MoDo gives us “Sound, but No Fury,” and says that the presidential debate should have been a cinch for Barack Obama. But he willfully refuses to accept that debates are not a lecture hall; they’re a joust. Mr. Friedman, in “Green the Bailout,” thinks America doesn’t just need a bailout. We need a buildup. We need to get back to making stuff based on real engineering, not just financial engineering. Mr. Kristof writes about being “Impulsive, Impetuous, Impatient,” and says John McCain has become steadily more of a neocon than President Bush in his first term, prone to solving problems with stealth bombers rather than diplomacy. Mr. Rich writes about “McCain’s Suspension Bridge to Nowhere,” and says John McCain may be the first presidential candidate in our history to risk wrecking the country even before being voted into the Oval Office.

Watch out — that filling is hot because they’re just out of the oven.
