About Firedoglake
Good Morning Elliot, I always appreciate these Suanday morning posts with the days lineup. There is a fairly new program on CNN that I find very interesting is (I am not sure of spaelling) Fareed Zacharia GPS.
me too
Ahhhh caffeine
Good Morning!
I originally did have Fareed’s show listed but he doesn’t put up a guest list anymore.
I do appreciate what you do
Thanks!
I’m not sure I’m liking the stench of this bailout. An awful lot of conflict of interests here. And too much cash going to the ones who caused the problem in the first place. (I’m hoping my mortgage gets lost in the shuffle heh heh heh.)
The way this thing is happening I feel we are being blackmailed or held hostage by the financial interests. There is a part of me that says get even. I still think there should be a transaction tax
On Matthews…Brooks says Palin can rise to the level of Mediocrity….Now that’s confidence. He seemed to be saying and That’s enough. ummmmm.
oh my goodness, he’s accepting that!?
He’s worse than I thought.
Seemed so to me….(sigh) Just the best he could say.
Ian’s got a new post up
Congress Reaches a Bailout Deal: 90% of the Suck You Were Expecting
Good morning, pups. It’s Dowd, Friedman, Kristof and Rich this morning. MoDo gives us “Sound, but No Fury,” and says that the presidential debate should have been a cinch for Barack Obama. But he willfully refuses to accept that debates are not a lecture hall; they’re a joust. Mr. Friedman, in “Green the Bailout,” thinks America doesn’t just need a bailout. We need a buildup. We need to get back to making stuff based on real engineering, not just financial engineering. Mr. Kristof writes about being “Impulsive, Impetuous, Impatient,” and says John McCain has become steadily more of a neocon than President Bush in his first term, prone to solving problems with stealth bombers rather than diplomacy. Mr. Rich writes about “McCain’s Suspension Bridge to Nowhere,” and says John McCain may be the first presidential candidate in our history to risk wrecking the country even before being voted into the Oval Office.

The coffee and tea are ready, and this morning I’ve got some peach turnovers made with puff pastry and just the tiniest hint of ginger and nutmeg. Watch out — that filling is hot because they’re just out of the oven. I’ve got “work” work to do today, and I’ve also got to buckle down and red up the house because we have an out of town guest coming on Thursday… Have a great day.
The headline page of english Pravda has some interesting headlines, Seems Russia is $30 billions better off after arms deal. Also don’t miss (scroll down) the report of US debt burdens from this administration (there is one error, if $700 billions raises the debt ceiling to $11,315 Billions, the current debt is running $10,615 Billions not the $8,300 Billions reported (all figures translated from trillions to billions for your computing ease), it is so hard believing anything out of the DC these days). Many other good related stories headlined for your edification.

EPU’d at # 13, must be some sort of record at the lake. ;-)
In EPU territory, but nonetheless, wanted to express my appreciation of these Sunday morning threads, too. Thanks, Elliott.
Elliott .. it is September .. not August ;-)
oops!
thank you!
