Fathy’s concepts will be valuable in reclaiming urban areas and populations into a livable, supportive environment that people can survive and prosper without causing untold damage to nature to do so. Co-housing and bag walls using onsite sand (I live on dunes)to make materials. The US HUD has a 10 year plan to end chronic homeleassness in 350 cities and counties. Our county just got a draft out by Homebase (bay area) for temporary and permanrnt low cost housing. So far we haven’t convinced the local Board of Supervisors to pony up some of there sites.
