That is what my vote looked like, although with a lot less zeros :(

It is really fantastic how the individual campaigns are getting “With it” and using their lists to build excitement and raise SERIOUS cash!

Some guy at DK has some long-winded comment at Howie’s Diary saying Andrew Rice should get all the money - you can read it here and recommend, even though the contest is over, candidates can still make more money!

OK, the winner is… Rick Noriega and the runner up is Jeff Merkley. Both campaigns did incredible jobs. Andrew Rice was very close and I wish we would have had two runners-up.

Clearly, he meant to “vote” for Andrew Rice– and that $100 donation will go a long way in Oklahoma– but his vote for each candidate negated any gain in votes for any of them. Literally hundreds of people did the same thing– which is absolutely wonderful and shows what kind of a community we’re part of here!

OK, voting is now officially closed for our Senate contest, although all the candidates are happy to keep receiving contributions, of course. Let me tally the votes and we’ll announce the winner asap. There was very little systematic multiple votes in this one, the way there was in the House contest a couple weeks ago. So this will be MUCH easier to count up. Reminder: our first place winner gets $5,000 and our second place winner gets $1,000. But as of right now Rick Noriega already took in almost $20,000 and both Jeff Merkley and Andrew Rice are over $9,000.

Sounds like Smith is running scared, as he should be. His rubber-stamp support of George W Bush has finally caught up to him, and he’s using Rove techniques: “unpatriotic” and “cowardice” are the kind of words Rove uses when his candidates are cornered.

I’ve emailed several friends in Oregon to be sure they vote for Jeff. Keep up the good work, sarahlane — let’s make the whole West Coast blue! Best wishes to you, your candidate, and your team.
