Well, my view from 60,000 feet so far is that Obama is winning on substance and getting clobbered on style. It’s a total role reversal: McCandycain looks calm, comfortable, and energetic, and he’s lying very smoothly, while Obama seems rattled and uncertain, and there’s something wrong with his makeup and/or lighting.
I’m especially annoyed that Obama is letting McCain get away with saying condescending stuff like, "What Senator Obama doesn’t understand…" (I’ve heard at least four, and I’m distracted) on foreign policy, without pointing out that McCain is the one who doesn’t know the difference between Shia and Sunni, Czechoslovakia and Czech Republic (although he did totally bust him on not knowing where Spain was or whether they were an ally). And he butchered Ahmadinejad’s name in truly spectacular fashion.
Also, North Koreans are short, and Putin has three eyes.

Dear Senator Obama,
Please stop saying these words:
“Senator McCain and I agree…”
Love,
BT
Obama is trying but he’s till being too cerebral.
Am I the only one that things the McCain is telling us stories while Obama is talking policy?
Can I co-sign that?
But if he doesn’t understand things, and he agrees with McCain, what does that say about McCain?
Does Tweety have the Aqua Velva out tonight?
McCain said “bridge”. He he.
Lehrer allows McCain to disrupt, three times now.
Why does McCain always have to have the last word? He’s just a big ass
You’re not the only one!
Ugh!! Obama wants people to like him too much. It’s his biggest problem. He wants everyone to like him.
why the FUCK did he let that go?!?!
McCain might support Nunn-Lugar, but Obama actually knows what is happening with N-L, I interviewed him extensively on this issue. He knows what he’s talking about. cough in contrast to McC.
Here’s the thing, Barack — McCain lies. He simply lies, and you’ll have to understand that for your next meeting. Don’t debate his record. Debate his temperament.
you noticed that too? Why can’t he just say, “YOu had your time to respond and now it is Senator Obama’s turn”
*headdesk*
why does mccain look 3 inches taller than obama in every side by side shot??????????
One time there was a comedian on some late night show that kept saying “I’m so talented.”
McCain is reminding me of that guy.
Lieberman! There we go!
Yeah.
It just makes him look weak. Every other word out of McCain’s mouth is “Senator Obama is wrong…” and every other sentence Obama says “I agree with John…”
Kill me now.
Yup.
Did he really initiate the 9/11 commission?
Yeah, but he goes right into schoolmarm mode.
So let him ;-))
Gramps thinks we’re safer now than we were before 9-11.
yeah, the entire world loves us now.
Ya but John blocked muc of the investigation once it started! New laws at the expense of our RIGHTS!
I want him to call McCain a liar
McCain lying about torture again.
Even saying it as McCain agrees with ME… not I agree with McCain.. BE THE LEADER Obi… WOW where’s the fight?
He evoted FOR TORTURE
Our allies prefer Obama.
Wow, the mention of Joe Liebermann made all the 3 reaction lines on CNN take a big dip!
Of course, Liebermann IS a big dip….
Is it too late to change the election rules so that the winner of an actual knife fight becomes President? I think Obama could take him.
This format bites badly.
McCain lies constantly, and Obama looks defensive trying to correct all the lies.
this debate sukked
Old age and treachery…
America is safer because I take of my shoes at the airport and can only take 3oz of liquid thru security.
Talk about corruption and cronyism, Obama, in Homeland Security
don’t forget the ziploc bags
thats what i said….off his message…hvaent heard change
Ditto! Also, I wonder how much McShame has shrunk with age; did you notice how his back rounds up to his neck? Can’t stand up straight anymore.
I agree. McCain’s gotten way more time and has interrupted way more.
Exactly and never allows BO to correct the record even though he tries, McCrazy fucker doesn’t allow him to speak. This Moderator is worse than the repukes.
wiretapping wiretapping wiretapping
Horrid debate format. McCain is using tried and true republican trick… shouting down your opponent, and Lehrer is letting him get away with it, because he would on his news hour
The Hunchback of Notre Shame.
Wining is Obama, and got an OK amount of attacks. Could have gotten more but best not to overplay. He did not and won far more PURPLE and often pulled RED into KNOWING he could be CIC.
“how we’re perceived in the world”…
Right on.
John McCain’s worst week ever in politics. And Obama lets, in fact helps him up.
bone weakness
Don’t give him credit on torture! Jeebus!
credit to McCain on n torture.
Obama needs a fire in his belly. No question about it.
omg gives McCain great credit on the torture issue!!!
That’s it, no money for you, Barack.
Credited McCain on torture? Bullshit!!!
Obama is a moron, there is no other conclusion on came can to on this “debate”.
Obama has blown it. He just doesn’t understand political combat.
I give McCain great credit
fuck fuck fuck fuck fuckity fuckity fuck fuck
Your view from 60,000 feet is…umm.. about eleven miles away. Right?
Closing – lost me there McCain
oh goddammit B gave McSame credit again…and didn’t mention that he caved on the bill
he FREAKIN VOTED on TORTURE
Please don’t give McCain credit for anything!! He’s not giving any credit to Obama. Just point out where the geezer is wrong!!
Wow — as soon as McCrazy started speaking now ALL THREE reaction lines on CNN plunged. Even the red one!!!!
They weren’t in Iraq until we invaded, John
People will remember one line from this debate: “Senator Obama doesn’t understand….”
This round goes to McCain, I’m afraid.
yep.
Anyone else think that because expectations were so much lower for McShame, he may be perceived to have won.
John is a condescending ASSHOLE Always being demeaning.
Why does Obama need fire in his belly?
Words are fine and Winning is better. But in the end the actions is what will change the future.
so we lose more blood and treasure?
Ask it, Barack… good money after bad?
No John, those people died because we made a mistake and the longer it goes on the more will die.
digg
“McCain Wins Debate!“
Reagan, Obama doesn’t understand, and I’m gonna watch Comedy Central.
Obama lost when he didn’t throw McCain’s adviser’s ties to the financial crisis in his face.
And Obama is wayyy to quick to show how much the two of them agree.
Spokonoi nochi, tvarishi.
yup……………shiite
He has lied so much that I don’t think people trusts what he says anymore
If it works for him, why not?
You are overthinking it. How you gonna win going after a tortured POW on torture in the last 2 minutes?
and “John is right”
Most important, Barack looks like a President. He’s every bit the equal, and many will start to pay more attention to what he says.
You betcha.
Obama has never said: “No Senator– YOU don’t get it. You took your eye off the ball. You choked.”
Yep, that’s a good one! And how are you lately. Haven’t seen you here in awhile. Or maybe I just follow much closer AM hours.
I’m watching the reaction lines on CNN — all THREE are UP now that Barack is speaking again.
digg
“McCain Wins Debate!“
—-
hehe
What surprises me is that this is Poli Sci 101. How have Obama’s advisors been prepping him for this debate?
Don’t give McCain credit for anything! He’s the problem, continued for possibly 4 more years!
O’ very good here – he’s speaking to Americans not his opponent or the watercarrier who’s moderating.
.
Finally on the economic consequences of imperialism!
Obama is just keeping his powder dry for the next debate … hey it worked so well for John Kerry!
Yea, I’m hating that vibe from McCain, too. I’ve been on the receiving end of arrogant-old-coot telling me, “Honey/Sweetie/what you don’t understand is…” I hope swing voter women are turned off in the same way witnessing this.
Actually, I think that line will be quite alienating to young people.
So who’s a good Dem debater that could help him? Clintons?
BO coming in to close it – talking about ALL the things this war has cost us.
And WHY that’s national security.
Go, BO, Goooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
Good, BO – tie war cost to failures at home.
I never expected Obama to win.
He never won a debate with his fellow Democrats.
McCain won his nomination debating with fellow GOPs.
This was to be expected, but everyone kept saying, “Oh, just wait until Obama chews him up in the first debate!!”
Nice expectation setting.
I hope McLame loses points for laughing and being generally mocking his opponent. I don’t know why not; they held it against Gore for sighing!
+3 % on Obama CIC question
no decision from either on “BAILOUT” that could be +/- 3to5 points in the same time range over the next 4 days when the debate talk ends in 1 day. Thats right 1 day (or 1/2 day).
Obama is who he is, like a calm Jimmy Stewart.
McCain is who he is, an ass.
McCain loses big time in the “likable” category tonight. He doesn’t even have George Bush’s charm.
Bwahahahahaha.
Need a comeback here. Barack
American’s resond to a story. They fall asleep with policy.
Agree 100%.
I would have loved that.
He is calling O stubborn. You had better hit him back Barack
another in-your-face insult to Obama.
do I dare hope BO might deign to respond?
Remember, the Navy never made McCain an Admiral. There was a reason for it…he’s an asshole.
HE VOTED AGAINST THEM
Flexibility? You? You’re fucking joking.
Hit McCain on veterans issues, please.
Webb GI Bill!!!
McSame is probably losing as far as the vast majority of voters – sounds like a broken record.
McCain does NOT have the support of Veternas. IAVA gave him a D.
SAY IT BARACK.
oooh call him on the veterans support NOW
He needs to use that! He also needs to use the fact that McCain’s been there and his experience have gotten us where we are!
Wha? He voted against the veterans! They dont know he’ll take care of them! If it’s too much money and needs to be cut, he’ll cut that too!!
i stand corrected
Obama won at least 19/20 questions. Easy rider if you are already up by 5% looking at another 3% next week.
Happens every time. And then tend to tank (especially the Independent line) when McSame speaks.
Obama—snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
It seems to be a democratic disease. I just don’t get that they don’t get it.
He won’t because that is not how he rolls. Frustrating at times, absolutely but in the end, I respect him more for it.
Obama, thank you for brining up Kenya and the American dream. Class way to end.
Hi Ann!
No I haven’t been around. We’ve had lots of stuff on our plate, some of it very difficult. I’ve missed you and all the Pups a lot! It’s so good to see you. And I hope you forgive me for being the one to let the email ball drop…..I still hope someday we can meet, but my medical situation is totally unpredictable. I never know in advance if I’ll be able to leave the house….sigh.
I love reading what you write here! I know it would be a treat to meet you face to face.
OH QWAP bio instead of hitting back
has Obama used the word “change” at all?
He closes with “My father’s from Kenya.”
Oh Lordy.
Yes.
POW
POW POW POW
POW here we go
BO goes for the inspiring close. Shining city on hill etc. Hope. Mc can’t match that.
oy, the POW card again.
Did you know McCain was a POW?
Yup. And ‘how we’re gonna’ keep America safe’ integrating with his personal history is hitting the sweet spot. outta the field.
Explain? He just won the debate. Can’t wait for the next one.
POW POW POW…gaaahhhh!
Wow, McCain was a POW…?
POW!!!! DRINK!
POW card again!!!!
POWPOWPOWPOWPOW saved it for the grand finale.
hit him on veteran’s issues, goddammit!
POW!
Oh no! POW!!
Ohhhhhhh… the POW thing.
The veterans were badly treated, or is there some urban legend there?
What is this, Batman? POW POW POW
BIFF! OOOF! WHAM!
Now, two hours of cable news channel spin.
Obama continues to own Bush’s and the Republicans’ failures by saying “we”….”we”….”we”…..
Someone needs to get his debate coach to have him delineate between him and his adversaries.
-G
Thus endeth the debate
NOT ENUF KNOCK OUTS
Drink up everyone POW!
Most important part. The way the debate is reported.
THANK GOD IT’S OVER. Barrack better get to work on debates. He’s a quick study. Thank god.
That’s why I think the voters are brighter than anything the jackass pundits will spin!
I am a fucking POW He blocked the MIA issues of Vietnam in his sub committee as has been covered here at the Lake!! Fucking liar!!
“Good job, John.” – BO.
Sigh.
I knew this is how it would go. Obama has to meet a higher burden of proof. McCain can say any crap he wants.
Hmm didn’t like that Obama didn’t hit back. I admit he looked weak by not hitting back but he caouldn’t because then he would be the angry black man. I hope his handlers tells him to go after him next time
Thank goddess that’s over.
oh well.
Bush lost every debate, and still won…
Brooks talking now.
I want Obama to say “Look me in the eye John. You know, like you’ll have to do with foreign leaders.”
Or, “I’ll tell you what I DO understand. You’re an asshole”
Or, “It’s a good thing you don’t need on the job training, it looks like you don’t have much time” Badda-bing!
McCain’s condecension is outrageous. Disgusting. It will not go over well.
Wonder how much Cindy’s outfit cost. Thousands of $$ maybe?
SO EFFIN TRUE
Well, my overall impression is that each candidate’s performance was his own worst enemy. McCain is a condescending prat, and Obama is too conciliatory.
Send an email, I am
Bah, lightweight.
Drink on “Main Street” and get it done early.
Candidate that comes up with a heartfelt way to say “MAIN” street (or “consumers”) will nail the coffin.
Anybody drunk yet? *g*
He had to.
The post-debate fact-checkers would have clobbered him if he hadn’t, PLUS he was ‘inclusive’ and ‘diplomatic’ — which McCain never was. Not at all.
To say nothing of McCain’s disastrous lack of eye contact and body stiffness.
Big trouble for McCain, even if not what all here wanted to see tonight.
This was McCain’s big chance.
He struck out.
Obama was too nice.
McCain was NOT been nice.
When McCain says “Obama doesn’t understand…”
Obama needs to come back with what McCain doesn’t understand.
and he absolutely has to stop saying any variation of “John is right” or “I agree with John.”
It’s a DEBATE.
Disagree!
STRONGLY!
McSame claims involvement in every major security challenge the past 23 years. Well, that worked out well, especially in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Russia, Venezuela, China, ad nauseum.
How can McSame get away with saying he’s “for” veterans, when he’s cut their programs religiously, as well as viciously dissed them personally, how can he say it is Obama who is too rigid to be president?
Jim, when I came home from prison… I resolved the MIA issue on a bipartisan basis — well, except for several hundred POW’s left behind, whose lives and records he helped bury, dissing their families in the bargain. A shameless liar.
I repeat. Obama is a lawyer trying to debate a tobacco lobbyist. McSame isn’t playing by the same rules, or the same reality, which allows him to maintain an emotional advantage. A toxic brew for us all.
Lehrer. Give up hosting debates. You’re worthless.
One candidate was Presidential tonight. One was a petulant child.
Getting to be my bedtime, so I’ll see y’all for breakfast.
now ther spin doctors
I agree.
Sigh.
McCain also conintued to hit Obama as naive and Obama kept smiling wheneve McCain did that. Also, Obama kept reinforcing McCain’s judgement by saying he agrees with McCain’s juedgement.
-G
Good! McCain being hit on the “Senator Obama doesn’t understand… Senator Obama doesn’t understand…”
Matthews: a surprising reversal of fortune.
And there, ladies and gentlemen, is the Village wisdom.
What I learned from the debate:
John McCain knows everything.
He has an old pen.
Barak Obama agrees with McCain on a lot of stuff, except for all the stuff he is wrong about.
Weirdly, Rs seem to admire scornful people. Personally I see it as a character flaw.
Tweety gets it, “Obama gave away too much”.
Tweety hits it on the head, says Obama was too nice.
When Bobo and Mark Shields are calling it a draw, you know Obama won.
Do you have a link to that?
Agree completely. Obama is Dukakis, Gore and Kerry all rolled into one. Didn’t think it was possible this time around but the Dems are snatching defeat from the jaws of victory once again. McCain tells stories, bullshit though they may be, while Obama talks policy. The story resonates with the American public, the policy puts them to sleep.
No tv here so listened on the radio until the POW thing. I thought I would scare the guy downstairs with my yelling.
In the reports afterwards, see if there is any evidence of commenters not puffing McCain up; afterall, more of them are not wanting to see Palin in his place.
BTW, McCain’s voice came across as old and shaky at times on the radio.
American’s love petulant children and hate educated eggheads.

Lehrer. Do us all a favor: give up hosting debates.
sweet dreams.
john is like your uncle at thanksgiving dinner that tells stories of the past that are interesting and important and obama is outlining direction and common sense
CBS–independent voters like Obama!
Here’s what I think Barack is facing — he has to be Sidney Poitier or Jackie Robinson. It sucks, it’s racist, but he has to be twice as good or more in order to just be “even” with the old white coot.
I think he did well, though. I’m not as anxious as some here. Different perceptions!
“My friends, I have the experience and the knowledge and the judgment to lead America into global nuclear war. I don’t believe Senator Obama does.”
John McCain:
Scarier than Bush
Noron: The GOP is cutting the “McCain is right” ads right now.
What we have here is a values gap. Decent people admire BO’s decency and think he came off best. Indecent people admire JM’s indecency and think he came off best.
4 beers in…
he’s got to keep his powder dry, for next time!
Yup, and you know they are. They are gloating over Obama being a gentleman.
Pat Buchanan says Obama came off as “a very nice guy”
Maybe that was important, in the first debate.
…me, too!
I desperately wanted to come right out and call McCain a liar.
I’m thinking people are tired of it.
But I’ll know more tomorrow…
It was a live reaction from groups of voters that CNN had somehow “wired” — R, D, and independent.
There is no link to that. It happened live, and I saw it.
Yeah, it’s Dukakis-Bush, Gore-Bush, Kerry-Bush all over again.
Bingo!
Meant to say I wanted Obama to call McCain a liar…
For once I want a candidate to stand up and fight for what is right. Not “let us reason together.” We are well past the point of reason selling. People are scared and hurting. I don’t think Obama gave them the idea he would be a fighter. Surviving the next 4 years is going to need a fighter.
Forget the pundits; Middle America will go for McCain based on the unwillingness of Obama to show ‘gumption’; American’s like the simple, not the complex; that’s why we’re in the shape were in.
McCain won this round Obamaniacs, not matter how you want to spin it.
I have been worried about your health, so I am also very glad to see you. I certain harbor no ill feelings; I can be very bad with keeping up written correspondence myself. And I would love to go have lunch or something sometime, whenever we’re both free. Keep in touch, for heaven sake! (early in the month is always best with me for financial reasons!)
Noooo. Not Harold Ford coming up.
Right, he has to be so very careful with the delicate sensibilities of American crackers.
But what bothers me is much of the underlying game.
Obama kept reinforcing McCain’s judgement even in the face of McCain repeatedly calling him naive and unable to understand.
It is crucial that he doesn’t do that in the future. It’s and extension of the “McCain is a war hero” fetish that has to precede everything said about McCain.
-G
De-lurking from across the Pacific, and have caught up w/ the latest thread.
Obama has to fight back. He’s too cool, which is a good thing for being in charge (No Drama Obama). He’s got to “win” these debates to make sure he does get the chance to be Chief Executive.
My reaction is that McCain walked all over Obama. MSM reaction is going to be that McCain “won.”
McCain repeatedly smeared Obama as being naive and clueless.
Obama has to draw some fire from his guts and fight back.
It’s un-fricking-believable to me; Obama has to fight back or he’s going to lose this election.
Perhaps worth noting Obama was not perceived as having won the debates during the primaries and went on to win the nomination.
Kerry and Gore won every debate they ever were in against Shrub. How’d that turn out?
Every PBS pundit saying a draw. Obama skyrocketed in the polling aggregate this week to a 6% lead. After tonight, it’ll still be a 6% lead. We’re doing just fine.
Wobbs is right, Obama had to be concerned about coming across as an “angry black man,” so had to limit his personal attacks. Given that, he did pretty well, IMO.
That’s why I always say dual citizenship has it’s priveledges.
looking on other blogs they liked Obamas style…we ar too harsh methinks
It goes all the way back to Stevenson. We seem to breed them that way.
Of my friends and co-workers here in Ohio, by far most of them argue from simplicity and lack of interest in nuances. One said to me, “Palin is the only one I can understand when she talks. I can’t understand what Obama is saying.” WTF? But it is true.
yes see 216
It’s begun. The Divine Ms. Palin being unavailable, muffled at some undisclosed location, America’s mayor is telling us Obama conceded eight times that, “McCain is right”. Who couldn’t see that coming?
As soon as Palin opens her mouth again, any gains Mc may have picked up tonight will reverse.
you don’t think he’s been told that over and over already? What makes any of us think he’s going to change that now?
Will do! Just hope you won’t mind it if I have to say, “no I can’t come out and play now.” Much as I would certainly WANT to!!!
We folks who have to suffer McCain as our senator need to support each other.
I am encouraged! I’ll be listening to the water cooler talk tomorrow to see.
Thx, MrsK8.
McCain was like a one layer cake with soggy frosting.
BO kept a cool head, and articulated a larger vision.
he hardly was nice at all to Prncipessa Cindy LOu
damnit no. I’m in the midst of fasting and can’t have alcohol :(
yes
but he was playing to mainly democrats then. Now he’s got to win over the indies. The question is what are they looking for?
boa noite Marion.
True, that!
You phrase that well! Agreed.
Obama keep his cool demeanor and his appearance of being more Presidential that he’s been demonstrating all week.
He also did a good job of tying McPalin to Bush, and was very specific with his plans compared to McPalin. After 8 years of hee haw and fake bravado, I think McPalin’s gig won’t go over with more then his base.
hw really has a wonderful manner as opposed to GRANDPA mCnASTY
Respectfully disagree EOH.
I thought one of the smartest moves of all was to allow the two candidates to talk and exchange. McCain made lots of errors in those periods.
HehHeh.
I don’t think many here understand that
Dukakis, Gore, Kerry and now Obama have the fatal belief in thinking that you can “reason” with the American public. His performance will play well in the class room but on mainstreat it’s going to be another Democratic flop.
new thread upstairs
McSame says he know how to heal the wounds of war. How about not going to war?
I agree with our assessment. While it’d be wonderful to hear Obama let loose
with some of the ‘tude’ we are able to have here every day, I don’t think it’d be acceptable to ‘undecideds’.
Yup.
McCain left gaping holes for Obama to exploit and he declined them.
Torture: “Senator, your bill banning torture was essentially overriden by a Presidential Executive order and your reaction was to express satisfaction that torture had been outlawed. What say you?”
Bank crisis: “Senator, you were at the center of a controversial investigation decades ago that served as the progenitor for the banking crisis we confront today. How can you claim that you are the change agent this country needs?”
And a dozen others.
Shields/Brooks thought McC really condescending; debate a draw. Obama performed on parity so leaves Ob,likely still ahead.
OMFG.
Their native tongue must be Gibberish.
I think we were expecting too much but I watched on CNN and the response meter was always more positive for Obama than McCain (except for the repub line). Everytime McC was personally critical of Obama, the meter went down. We wanted a knock-out punch, and there certainly were opportunities, but the response meter favored Obama on nearly every answer.
Yeah but Eisenhower was no McCain.
The common ground seeking community organizer versus the neighborhood tough guy.
Obama needs to put on some virtual warpaint next time. Trying to look at it through the eyes of the construction worker down at the neighborhood bar or the fearful little ol’ lady next door it was painful.
yeah. Reminds me of Bush and Kerry or Bush and Gore.
How’d that work out for us?
i agree,he is a MUCH BETTER PERSON than i
Yeah, imagine being proud of never bringing home the bacon! Yeah, you still have my email with my number, right? Give me a call! I’m waiting till you’re ready! Although, I am on oxygen; hope that doesn’t embarrass.
MSNBC has a poll showing over 70% saying Obama won.
oh good…..sigh
the Keith and Rachel crowd. No surprise there. Wishful thinking I think.
folks must not have liked mccain’s tone
It’s begun. The Divine Ms. Palin being unavailable, muffled at some undisclosed location, America’s mayor is telling us Obama conceded eight times that, ”McCain is right”. Who couldn’t see that coming?
As near as I can tell, some of them are looking to see whether, if BO walked into their division or workplace as the New Boss, they’d feel anxious and flipped out, or whether they’d feel relief that a smart guy was willing to listen to them, help them get their work done, and cut through buillshit.
At least, that’s how I suss out some of what I’m hearing.
Or, as one friend put it to me:
Would Microsoft or IBM hire McCain? Not likely.
Would they hire Obama? Yup.
That’s the core criteria she uses for her voting.
It works for her…
We want Rachel’s summary!
I just had to jump ahead … there is no way I can read everything!!! Worked until 9:00 p.m. and rushed home to listen. First breath just now… after two hours.
Not in the least! How do you feel about hanging around with a gimp [grin]? We’ll make quite the pair!
My computer died (that was one of many wrinkles going on) but I was able to rescue old email. I’m certain I still have your emails.
Within the last 8 years early polls showed that the Dem won in the debates but within 24 hours after the spinmeisters took over the reverse became the new reality.
Exactly, solai! That was the point I was trying to make. I was happy to see that when McCain went all condescending, all THREE lines plunged. Obama did just fine — and even better — according to the groups CNN put together.
If not, let me know here and I’ll send it again. I’m sure I must have yours; I never throw stuff out. People’s physical disabilities or whatever don’t bother me.
Sorry to hear about your computer. I can relate! Been there; done that!
Maybe Senator Obama didn’t look so stylish today, but at least he got his points across and he didn’t talk about the Great Pumpkin or anything similarly embarrassing. He’s got a firm hold on the campaign.
Looks like they’re calling us all upstairs. See y’all there.
I felt that McCain won, too. He is a serial liar, and Obama didn’t stand up to him (nor did he stand up to him when he was talked down to).
If the American people knew the facts, this wouldn’t be a problem. But they don’t, and it is.
I get the feeling Obama’s performance will get better with age.
Whatever you’re smoking or drinking – I want some, too! :-)
But I’m hoping you are correct.
I can’t see any upstairs … refresh lands me here.
I watched the debate on CNN where they had focus groups tracking the candidates comments. Every time that McCain said “what Senator Obama doesn’t understand” or “Senator Obama doesn’t get it” the reaction from the Democrats and the Independents was negative. Off course the line for the Republicans rose, but that is as expected. I don’t think it did McCain any good with the people who are still undecided to be so condescending. They weren’t buying it.
they’re so very different…

Is this a joke? You really thought MC CAIN was doing better? Really? Astonishing.
