In a remarkable show of solidarity with her running mate, Sarah Palin announced that she is suspending her governorship, effective immediately, so that she can focus all her energies on resolving America’s urgent Sarah-Palin-is-not-vice-president crisis. She expressed her hope that both parties would put their differences aside and work together towards the common goal of making her vice president.
The Democratic congressional leadership is "cautiously receptive" to Palin’s bold initiative, according to a highly placed staffer, but the full extent of their participation is still under negotiation.
The McCain campaign will assume all of Governor Palin’s non-marital duties while she is away. Most importantly, Edward O’Callaghan has taken over Troopergate stonewalling responsibilities from Thomas Van Flein, and Carly Fiorina will be in charge of watering the plants and brushing the furniture.
Campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds pointed out that Palin’s move is not unprecedented: George W. Bush has temporarily suspended his presidency, and John McCain himself hasn’t cast a vote in almost six months.

Shit. Got me for a minute there!
I still think Insane should’ve delegated tonight’s debate to the good governor… so that he can devote his time to saving the economy from Boehner.
But, will she be missed?
I was thinking maybe Charlie Gibson could sub for him.
Hey ridding oneself of all those inner witches and running for VP is hard, it’s hard work.
Anyone think she’s neglecting national security and leaving us vulnerable to a Russian attack?
oo Eli
she’s a total trooper ‘cept for that Troopergate thang
I dunno. After the Alaskans get a taste of real professional stonewalling, they may not want to go back to plain old homegrown stonewalling.
no way jose, she’s right on top of those Russian incursions into Alaskan airspace
((( Eli )))
((((( Loo Hoo )))))
Mooselini speaketh the (un)truth
I wonder, could this all be a misunderstanding, and she was actually talking about Russian incursions into Alaskan *MySpace*?
Hiya, Petro!
Digg it right here, pups.
Correction:
Dugg … thanks Teddy !
I said “temporarily”.
Dugg Your Digg Teddy!!
Shouldn’t that be “has already assumed”? They’ve been at it for quite some time already.
Yeah, I know, but I wanted to make it sound like breaking news…
Gotta leave now …here’s proof that karma exists … *g*
In other Palin-related news:

If Zappa were still alive, he might update this for Sarah.
HEY PETRO!
The complete idiocy of Tweety on display now a he discusses the spin of Obama or McCains’ vote on the bailout.. when the bill isn’t even in final form.
We can be certain Frank would have plenty to say about the Palin/McCain ticket.
Thanks for the link. I blew off two chances to see him on that tour, if only I’d known it would be his last…
I saw him five times, starting new years eve ‘74…not nearly enough.
Pat Lang gets it!:
Stopped clock, occasional correctness despite being stopped, etc.
‘74 would have been a great time. I saw him in ‘80, ‘81, and 3 times in ‘84, including both shows at the Bismarck Theater in Chicago, which FZ evidently enjoyed as much as we did because he eventually released quite a lot from it.
Sarah Palin is a witch! She turned me into a newt.
I think she’s more likely to turn herself into Newt.
No Ribs for You, One Year !!!!
be back for the Debate
It was amazing. He had a great band every time.
Still, I’ve always wished I could have seen the Flo & Eddie version
of the Mothers. I did see Flo & Eddie in 1975 at the Roxy, probably
the most entertaining show I ever saw or will see.
in regards to the debate
from Robert Greenwald
mods, please forgive the length of this comment.
I think John McCain sees himself as a heroic figure in the mold of Studabaker Hawk (as the phone booth fills with flies). Cindy is Billy The Mountain’s wooden wife Ethyl. Palin… “Call Any Vegetable” should be her anthem.
Vote McCain. He has more experience at making things worse.
Maverick…
Absolutely. Yup, yup…
pitbull…
maverick…
In what respect, Charlie?…
in a Palin/McCain administration…
pitbull…
I’ll try to find you some and I’ll bring them to you
What I have to do two jobs? Even John McCain with 26 years of experience can’t do that…
