Economic Fears Give Obama Clear Lead Over McCain in Poll

…The poll found that, among likely voters, Obama now leads McCain by 52 percent to 43 percent. Two weeks ago, in the days immediately following the Republican National Convention, the race was essentially even, with McCain at 49 percent and Obama at 47 percent.

At its base, the turmoil wracking the world financial markets is a crisis of confidence.

Terminal stupidity — the Tinkerbell theory of finance: “If only we believe, the market will survive.”

But in fact the turmoil is a manifestation of the most basic law of the universe: what can’t go on forever doesn’t. What goes up must come down. Every bubble eventually bursts. Every house of cards eventually tumbles down. The loss of confidence is an effect, not the cause and not the base.

Bill O’Reilly Hacked: Website Information Breach

Bill O’Reilly has had his website hacked according to a report from Datamation notes. The website reports that hackers broke into the personal site of Fox News commentator Bill O’Reilly. The conservative commentator was reportedly targeted because of his comments on the earlier hack on Sarah Palin’s Yahoo e-mail account.

The report notes that at least 205 names, e-mail addresses, billing addresses and passwords of subscribers to O’Reilly, which were not protected or encrypted were obtained.
