Obama controls the House and Senate majorities needed to pass this bill.

In 2002 he had what is called a radical resection for Melanoma on his temple. The what they did is a lymph node resection in his neck with skin grafts. This is a deep excision for the tumor and in the olden days when there were a lot of radical neck resections (throat cancer from smoking) they would look like that on both sides of their face. This scar goes from temple down the left side of his face to under his jaw.

Okay, thanks. So, this is the deal. I have started this kittey blog. And, part of what I am investigating, by checking out youtubes is “weird stuff kittehs do”. So, one of the most obvious topics has to do with kittehs rolling around in catnip. But, that just seemed so ordinary. I try to find different kitteh youtubes, that don’t have a gazillion hits. But then I found various vids of kittehs rolling around in stuff, just like they do in response to catnip. So, I have developed the “unified catnip theory”, and am revealing various parts of this. I have not yet revealed my underlying thinking on this issue however *g* but, that is coming.

Already put up some stuff about kittehs responding in ecstasy to strawberry stems and to mint (or at least smell of mint). And, this is a youtube I plan to feature when I reveal my thinking about the unified catnip hypothesis. It features Persian catnip. And, the music is pretty good too!

Removing the legalese from the text, and combining multiple sentences, it provides that: The President may employ the armed forces to restore public order in any State of the United States the President determines hinders the execution of laws or deprives people of a right, privilege, immunity, or protection named in the Constitution and secured by law or opposes or obstructs the execution of the laws of the United States or impedes the course of justice under those laws. The actual text is on page 322-323 of the legislation. As of 2008, these changes were repealed, changing the text of the law back to the original 1807 wording, under Public Law 110-181 (H.R. 4986, Section 1068)

In August 2000, following a 27 month absence from care at Mayo Clinic, Sen. McCain was diagnosed with a melanoma that was 2.2 millimeters thick at its thickest part and was 2 centimeters across. This melanoma was located on the left lower temple region of the face. Prior to surgery, numerous tests were performed, including CT scans, an MRI scan of the brain, liver tests that included LDH, and there was no evidence that the cancer had spread.

A comprehensive surgical procedure was done that included sentinel lymph node biopsy, removal of the cutaneous melanoma and key lymph nodes, and reconstruction of his left temple region. A 2 centimeter margin of normal skin was removed around the 2 centimeter melanoma, resulting in a 6 centimeter by 6 centimeter roughly circular wound on the left side of the Senator’s face.

The underlying Parodid salivary gland was also removed to assure a clear deep margin, to protect facial nerves from injury and to remove the sentinel and other lymph nodes that were inside the Parodid gland. None of Senator McCain’s lymph nodes showed any evidence of metastatic disease. The large incision was necessary to safely remove all cancer with an appropriate margin, resulting in a wound requiring sizeable reconstruction. This explains why the large incision was
made—it was necessary so that a flap of skin and soft tissue consistent with the color and texture of the Senator’s facial skin could be elevated and advanced/rotated into the wound.

To answer what appears to be numerous questions about the prominence of the Senator’s left jaw: this is a result of an absence of soft tissue on the face in front of his ear that makes the masseter (the chewing muscle) over the jaw appear more prominent. To be clear, the swelling is not due to any evidence of cancer.

My Bold When Bush says that he never raised taxes we need to point out that he already has. Debt and Interest do need to be paid back by someone, sometime, Bush has just left the job to Obama.

(1) so hinders the execution of the laws of that State, and of the United States within the State, that any part or class of its people is deprived of a right, privilege, immunity, or protection named in the Constitution and secured by law, and the constituted authorities of that State are unable, fail, or refuse to protect that right, privilege, or immunity, or to give that protection; or

(2) opposes or obstructs the execution of the laws of the United States or impedes the course of justice under those laws.

In any situation covered by clause (1), the State shall be considered to have denied the equal protection of the laws secured by the Constitution.’.

(2) PROCLAMATION TO DISPERSE- Section 334 of such title is amended by striking ‘or those obstructing the enforcement of the laws’ after ‘insurgents’.

The model’s thinking is basically this: in a very close election, Obama probably won’t have too many problems flipping enough Bush states. Iowa and New Mexico seem to be absolutely in the bag for him. And somewhere — maybe Colorado, maybe Virginia, or, somewhat less likely, Ohio, Indiana, Florida, Nevada or North Carolina — he’ll pick up that last state he needs to get him to 269 or 270 electoral votes. We don’t know exactly which one of these states he’ll flip, but he’d have to have a fairly bad run of luck to come up short in all of them, particularly as they are pretty well diversified across the demographic spectrum. But all of this could be for naught if he blows Pennsylvania or Michigan. Michigan seems to be moving in his direction, whereas Pennsylvania is going the opposite way.

(Why are the states moving in opposite directions? Michigan has notably higher unemployment than Pennsylvania — meaning that Obama’s newfound economic populism may have better resonance there — whereas Pennsylvania has a lot of pro-life moderate Cathloics, a group with whom Sarah Palin probably performs well).

– Put a surcharge on the income tax of the wealthy
– Put a transaction tax, e.g., 1%, on all stock, bond, etc. trades (like Brittain).
– Insist on equity (e.g., special-issue preferred stock) for the difference between what we pay for the junk instruments we take off their hands and the true market value as established via reverse auctions.
– Give the homeowner the right to match any sale of his mortgage, if he/she matches it, he/she gets it at that price.
– Set up a well-regulated Fannie Mae to facilitate homeowners buying up their own mortgages at a discount.

Sounds to damn reasonable.

Sen. John McCain’s top campaign aides convened a conference call today to complain of being called “liars.” They pressed the media to scrutinize specific elements of Sen. Barack Obama’s record.

But the call was so rife with simple, often inexplicable misstatements of fact that it may have had the opposite effect: to deepen the perception, dangerous to McCain, that he and his aides have little regard for factual accuracy.

The errors in McCain strategist Steve Schmidt’s charges against Obama and Sen. Joe Biden were particularly notable because they seemed unnecessary. Army Unit to Deploy in October for Domestic Operations

“Beginning in October, the Army plans to station an active unit inside the United States for the first time to serve as an on-call federal response in times of emergency.

The 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team has spent thirty-five of the last sixty months in Iraq, but now the unit is training for domestic operations. The unit will soon be under the day-to-day control of US Army North, the Army service component of Northern Command.

The Army Times reports this new mission marks the first time an active unit has been given a dedicated assignment to Northern Command. The paper says the Army unit may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control. The soldiers are learning to use so-called nonlethal weapons designed to subdue unruly or dangerous individuals and crowds.”

This is in direct violation of the ‘07 reinstatement of Posse Comitatus, which we lost in ‘06 do to the renewal of Patriot Act.
