Morning BT..
I’ll go open the Dig.. brb..:)
wasn’t it Mario’s kid, Andrew? Maybe I’m wrong. what’s his backgroud there? i thought he was a lawyer and NY AG.
Awwwwww, poor little Ass Limbo. Barack is being mean to him. Well, it was Ass Limbo who called Barack the “Barack the Magic Negro” in a skit he did for his show, so I give Barack a HUGE THUMBS UP THIS MORNING for making Ass Limbo look like the ass he really is!
The Dig is open, but it is not showing up here yet..
Johnny’s son also had a “mini” Savings & Loan scandal to a bank he was connected to:

With this guy in charge of Hensley & Co., how come this company hasn’t suffered under his leadership? Oh wait! That’s right. All the McCain’s & Hensley’s care about are the McCain’s and the Hensley’s. Nevermind.
Good Morning Blue Texan and Firedogs.
just in case this wasn’t posted yesterday – caught it while warming my coffee: The Villagers go all concern troll on McBluster
ABC’s This Week
George Will unleashes his inner-Broder:
“John McCain showed his personality this week,” said the writer and pundit, “and made some of us fearful.”
Sen. Dodd on Nice Polite Republicans this morning saying “no blank check”. He was literally cut off mid sentence.
Good morning BT and pups. Great McClatchy article on Paulson’s conflicts of interest:
There’s much more in the article, including a really juicy bit from the last Annual Report Paulson signed off on explicitly warning taxpayers that the US government would never step in to protect Goldman Sachs stockholders…
i also wanted to get a link up to somethinfg i’ve been trying to get an answer about. McCain and his people have been pushing this alot the last few days.
McCain isn’t always a deregulator, see. He warned about the problems with Fannie and Freddiewanted more reguilation on Fanny & Freddy but the Democtars killed the bill on account of they take lotsa money from Fannie & Freddie people. And Obama was one of ‘em.
Bullshit. All of it.

i see Fox News is reporting that palin drew 60,000 people in orlando yesterday. Doubtful. It was a very big crowd. Don’t gert me wrong. the local estimates are 15,000 – 60,000. which means nobody really knows. heavy, heavy R area.
Great Video!
Good morning. WJ has Harvey Pitt on explaining how no one could have known. I listened awhile then muted my TV. I sent WJ an email
Gotta go. But check this out.
Lehman to hand out billions in bonuses.

That drawing power will help her when she takes her freak show on the road after she and McGramps lose the election.
Here come the pre-election terra scare tactics: JetBlue terminal at JFK evacuated (terminal 6?) because of a suspicious package.
Gud mornin’..my horse is dead as hell but I continue beating it. Isn’t it time to dump the Bush/McCain tea into the Atlantic Ocean? King George and his minions take a trillion dollars/American from the taxpaying common folk and GIVE it to rich bankers. What’s wrong with this picture?
Shelby’s on CNBC pooh poohing the $700 billion. Thought Paulson’s news was sobering but is against bailouts.
Fox news reports 2 grenades found at JFK airport. AND, Geraldo Rivera just happened to be there getting on a plane!!1!
Good Morning all,
So McShame is going to have Mario Cuomo as his FEC er SEC chief and Bernie Sanders as his Mentor. There is no limit to how much shit this guy is willing to sling.
ANDREW Cuomo.
$2.5 billion is going to 10,000 employees of a purportedly bankrupt company?
$25 million per employee…to quit work?
Why didn’t they do this years earlier?
I need coffee
The plucky crew on JoeScar has rendered its verdict – Obama is fucked re the economic crisis because:
a) he has received more campaign contributions from Wall Streeters than McGramps, and
b) he hasn’t been ’specific’ enough in his statements about the mess.
There you have it – Obama should clearly now just hang it up, concede, go home and leave the more experienced man to Save America!!
oh yeah. at least in tbe short term. i dunno if she’ll be a big player on the antional scene in terms of running for president. by the time this election ids over, her star won’t be as bright, i don’t think
Right, I think it was Andrew Cuomo. It struck me as a repeat of his mention of John Lewis as someone upon whom he would rely as a confidant. It would be interesting to here what Andrew Cuomo says today. He probably spewed his dinner if he was watching.
Great info. Funny..didn’t see this on any corporate media news, must not be important..har har!
McCain has just released a commercial criticizing Obama’s “friends” – he cannot be trusted with ‘connections’ like this.
One would think that McCrazy might have wanted to stay away from that topic…
Loose the hounds!
Pravda means truth doesn’t it?

I don’t understand the Andrew Cuomo thing at all. First he is a D. Second, he’s pursuing the Spitzer route of persecution (not prosecution) of various corporate evildoers in his attempt to become NYS gov.
Think it must be just another example of McInsane’s tourettes, but anyone who understands it better please feel free to enlighten me.
Thanks for the links. I was wondering about the same claims. Zucherman made a big deal out of this on McLauglin Group this week and he was spouting McCain lines so precisely that it seemed he was the one who counselled McCain to use them.
;-) Love your little rant this morning.
i saw Kyl on Wallace’s Fox show (Wallace is a puke) saying the same stuff. The most egregiouas thing is McCain criticizing Obama for his “connections” to Fannie and Freddie and taking contributions from their employees. Someobe mentioned earlier, McCain really shouldn’t go there. he’s gonna get slammed.
I agree. It seems like the stream of consciousness might be something like: “chance to be bipartisan…democrat…uh, W.J. Bryan,no…time passing…already used John Lewis…Andrew Cuomo.”
Slammed like this
Loan Titans Paid McCain Adviser Nearly $2 Million
allow me to underscore their abject idiocy.
this morning I heard Scar ask: “Why don’t we ever see this coming?”
The link didn’t work in my 34, here it is.
Loan Titans Paid McCain Adviser Nearly $2 Million
and don’t forget. while it’s true thast Barack took a shitload of money from fannie & freddie employees, McCain took as much from their officers, directors & lobbysists — the people with say and influence and authority
Who could have foreseen? …
That’s exactly the line that Harvey Pitt used.
How can we reveal the stupidity of these guys?
Don’t answer that. It’s rhetorical.
Exactly. When I contribute 25 or 50 dollars to a camapign ain’t no way I’m getting the candidate on the phone. Unlike the situation with Rick Davis.
McCain should get slammed for going there. But I doubt it will be by the talking heads. And if/when Obama or Biden does slam him, will any one report it?
w00t!! This article has been on CQ Politics since late yesterday afternoon, but I haven’t seen anyone talking about it. Somebody in our party is actually listening to us:
This is outstanding news. I hope they stand firm. We need to call all the Congresscritters we can today to urge them to get behind this version of the bailout.
The whole article is worth a read. It also looks like Dodd is trying to give judges the right to reset the principal and terms on mortgages, too.
allow me to underscore their abject idiocy.
having that tripe on first thing in the morning is a mixed bag. It starts my day off badly, and I’m angry before I ever head out the door.
BUT, as they are so often proven to be wrong, badly wrong and egregiously wrong by the end of the day, things end on a bit of a better note.
With KO and Rachel disproving, in prime time, nearly everything these idiots say in the morning, one wonders just wtf MSNBC is thinking with its “Stupid In The Morning” show.
Only when Obama is “inartful” – klowns
I don’t understand why alleged experts think that the gov may make money on this bailout. PIMCO guy on CNBC just said that but he’s not the first I’ve heard. Unlike S&L bailout, when there were real assets, today a lot of the financial assets are less than worthless. What am I missing?
No.
It makes you a lumberjack.
full disclosure: woke up yesterday thinking it was all hopeless and they were to go sheeplike in to another AUMF – was thinking I wouldn’t even bother checking in with y’all, all is lost blah, blah, blah -
but have been heartened by Senator Obama’s response and that of the Dem Leadership – don’t get me wrong, I wont be surprised if they make a compromise too far, but just so damn glad to see they realize they have the con on this and not Paulson
undaunted she continues…
I was gobsmacked by Obama’s 7 point response – imagine, a Dem responding with principles – who knew ?
oH, i’M A LUMBERJACK AND i’M oKAY……………………
The corporate neo-con tee vee lobbyists, that tell us what to think, dare not call its name.
Shock Doctrine!
I don’t think you’re missing anything. It’s just a classic bait and switch. They reference the RTC making most of the money back just to make this run sound appealing. It’s already clear that the plan is for Paulson to buy toxic debt at 60 cents on the dollar and then turn around and sell it back at a nickel so that the merry-go-round starts again. As soon as someone figures out that they are holding it at above real value, we start over (at least in their dream world).
Yes, and it makes me incredibly mad that they still say Obama never has any real plans. This one sounds great.
Frank33 & JimWhite
That’s what I think too.
Ugh. Harwood playing clips of interviews with Obama & McCane on CNBC. Obama sez he’ll have Paulson involved in the transition.
BTW, Harwood (WSJ as well as CNBC) liked that response. Thought it made Obama seem presidential. Which is why O said it.
I think it makes O look weak & pandering.
I think it was a smart answer. Significant for what he did not say. He did not say Paulson would be asked to stay on.
How to not be ill thinking about Palin being Pres, or even Veep? Then to see numbers that put Obama ahead in PA. What a lovely piece of news?
Is it just me? IMHO…no one knows how to fix the financial mess. It’s a crapshoot, so that means who do you trust.
Paulson knows. Give him unlimited access to the US Treasury and no oversight. Sounds good to me. You got a problem with that.
