In for $50. I would have to read this right after I donated a chunk of change to Obama, but I’ll do whatever it takes to contribute here.

Please, don’t feel uncomfortable about “talking about money.” Bring it right up front with regular frequency, and let our generosity, of whatever amount, save you from those days close to the brink.

cbl2 — Um, I’m very familiar with it… ;-)

SaltInWound (167) — check out the Technorati.com Top 100 Blogs; FireDogLake is 97 out of 100, where by comparison Huffington Post is number 1. 100X difference in authority level, too. Surf down and look at all the blogs inbetween 1 and 100.

Crikey, even ICanHasCheezburger.com is in the Top 10 Blogs.

This should give you some idea how rarefied the air is in Arianna’s blog-neighborhood, or how out of skew valuation is ifICanHasCheezburger.com can beat FDL’s family in ranking.

Wish I had a million to give you guys.

Hi, Adie - if you read this…I can’t think of anything more perfect - two kinds of berries bushes?? Ahhhh.I’ll take it!

Would that I could. Hope you have some time before you really have to sell; not the best time to be a seller. I’m in (a rental in) the most desirable part of my city, and instead of the usual 3 month “supply” of houses for sale, there’s an 11-month “supply.” And we constantly hear that our real estate market is much better off than most cities.
Wish you luck.

Late but Christy I just chipped in. Wish it could be more but I gave because the Lake has provided me with endless hours of news and discussion about the subjects that mean the most to me. Our country and keeping politicians honest and working for the good od all the people of this great country. Keep up the fantastic work. The changes lately have been difficult but I know the back room crew WILL get everything running smoothly as soon as they can. Thanks for all you do Christy, Jane, Suz, ES and everyone one else who contributes to make this the very best place on the WEB!!

Morning Christy.

Been out of touch for awhile here. I hadn’t heard you actually got the breadmaker. Terrific! I can smell the bread from here. *reaches for slice*

Actually I still like the old fashioned way of breadmaking, when I can make time. Helps get my boosh-generated frustrations out to slap and pound the dough around, heh.

We’ll donate when we can, but these are unsettling times. Feels weird to have our house all paid off, virtually no debt, and yet we’re scared witless over whether we’ll make it into our retirement cottage. Once we’re over the threshold, I think we’ll feel better.

Say, anyone out there want a modest but efficient and very comfortable, 3-bedroom house on a mini-nature-preserve we’ve slowly and gently crafted and protected for the past 35 yrs? Gorgeous, free entertainment from critters galore who, at this point, are more tame than most people’s human neighbors. Extra perks: nice veggie garden plot, blueberries and black raspberries and crabapples and pears, hazelnuts, hickory. Wildflowers and butterflies galore. Andersen windows throughout for a cozy but full view of the woods. Screened porch. Herb garden. Full basement. 2 big chest freezers.
Oh yeah. Humungous beautiful fireplace, and steady supply of firewood, free. BTW, top notch public school system comes with the deal.

Obama sign out front and “Friends for Peace” sign at the door.

And of COURSE the place is fully “wired”. How you think I got here to the Lake, eh? *g*

Anyone? Available June ‘09, assuming junior doesn’t bring on the apocalypsogremlins in the meantime.

You are certainly welcome. Mr. Grant in Houston of my blog is the one who posted the article. As you know, we lefty bloggers can’t keep articles like this to ourselves! We have to share. ;-)

And isn’t it nice to read someone saying the middle class should be first and foremost when it comes to a ‘bailout’? I think so. ;-)

Please look at this ad. This is the one. It is the best I have seen. Really!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..606/604527

Do not miss this ad! I had to play it over and over just to make sure I was hearing McCain say such devastating things about himself, such as “Money buys access to my office!”

Jaw dropping stuff! Out of his own mouth!

They should run this ad nationwide, nonstop from now to Nov. 4th.
