That is not a plan, that is a stickup.

George Bush wants us to give him 700 billion dollars to give to his frinds, no strings attached.

George Bush wants to give hundreds of millions of dollars to crooks, his friends, with no Congressional oversight.

George Bush wants to give 700 billion to the banks with no guarantee we will get the rights to the properties if there is a default.

George Bush wants to give 700 billion to his friends with not rules, and no possibility of Court review if there is more fraud.

Here is a simple plan:

Congress authorizes up to 700 billion to buy securities from the banks.

Congress sets up guidelines to determine which securities we buy.

Congress approves a process to review those purchases.

Congress sets up a payment schedule, and a way to value the securities.

Congress makes all transfers under the plan to start no earlier than March 1, 2009.

Congress authorizes a guarantee today to the banks that these transfers will occur, and allows them to remove the bad securities from their balance sheets.

Congress makes it a Federal Crime, a class B felony to transfer a security in violation of these rules.

Congress makes the transfer of each security in violation of these rules the equivalent of selling one ounce of cocaine for sentencing guidelines purposes.

Congress authorizes the Department of Justice to investigate and prosecute each violation.

Still it looks like our elected Democrats, those wonderful folks who fear being blamed for anything, will go along with the bailout. Everyone says you can’t let Wall Street go bust, although it already has, and that seems to be that. Perhaps it’s time to think the unthinkable. Lots of discontent is expressed in these comments, but the general feeling seems to be there’s nothing we the people can do about it. Other countries cratered. Maybe it’s our turn.

Who’s gonna stop him? Chris Dodd? Barney Frank??

Seriously, this must be stopped. It is insanity.
