The New Mastersounds "Give Me A Minute Part 2"
So we all just spent a trillion dollars bailing out a bunch of Ferragamo booted Friedman followers, and all I’ve got for you is a couple of YouTubes. I say we shake it off for just a little while by kicking off our Late Late Nite with some Rock and Roll. First, from Jacksonville, Florida, JJ Grey & Mofro performing their song, War, followed up with a little Funk, from Leeds, UK, The New Mastersounds performing, Give Me A Minute Part 2.
What’s on your mind tonight?

ZED!
Is this thing on?
ES!
tsk, tsk, nahant
Digg IT!!
Neuro ZED is not Dead!!
Not good news here in AZ
Maricopa county under a rabies alert
Google is closing their Tempe office
e-Telecome was sold and closing their office with 2,000 job losses….
You sure?
Good Evening ES how is everything this fine evening??
Dam You ARE here…
That is a real depressing Friday news dump. Kind of surprising about Google, isn’t it?
Dugg your Digg, nahant!
Zed is dead. There is no Zed. There never was.
Do you want me to print my essay again?
Dang, I dropped by the Beach House and I missed out on the zed…! Aloha, ES!
Eureka!
What Happened last thread with that link you put up for a DIGG??
I feel compelled to post something, if only I could wrap my mind around what to post…
Oh no.. what’s the carrier critter, raccoons?
You should be debugging your system from that spyware that you’ve got…! That link I provided downstairs is extremely effective and free…! ;-)
Zed will never die…
Just fine and dandy… another beautiful day in paradise, nahant. How about you.. are you solar powered yet?
Do they let you talk like that over there, CT? I know they don’t at the treehouse…
Bats….. some idiot girl picked up a bat that landed at her feet and took it home, handled it and then the bat later died……
I don’t know, do you want to tell me?
We unwrap as well as wrap in LLN.. ust let it all out…)
“Hello” is fine. Welcome CanadaJames! You new to these parts?
are you a recovering lurker, canadajames?
what do you mean, I have spyware?
Bring it. We’re easy.
Oh no.. We have a lot of bats in the Ozarks.. I noticed a couple out in the middle of a hot afternoon a couple of weeks ago. Very unusual.. now I wonder if rabies had something to do with it.
That program that popped up when we hit your digg link is from a notorious spyware site… Download the program I linked to, and, run it…
Local news….. they saying that a person of interest is the son of Democratic Rep Pernel (sp)from TN may be linked to the hacking of Palin’s email…….
OK, CT and nahant. All joking aside, I don’t know anything about anything being wrong with my Digg link on the last thread (it takes me to the Digg page for that post) and I certainly don’t know anything about me having any spyware.
Please enlighten me.
There have been serious problems with bats in New England. Large amounts are dying due to some disease or fungus that gives them a white nose.
Saw some footage of bats flopping around in the snow in midday this past winter.
Mother Nature is in distress.
The center aint holding so well.
-G
All right, where do I find your link? I didn’t see it…
Don’t touch them….. if you have animal control in your area (some have been cut) to investigate if there is an issue…. keep any pets or animals away from them too….
If you have to scoop them up with a shovel and put into a container…. if no animal control or game & fish to investigate…
Not yet, we are in the permit stage, PG&E (our power company) has approved the project and the rebates for the system. Still need City permits!! Our Solar company SolarCity keeps us well informed at which stage we are at with both emails and letters.. Should be soon.
Here ya go… After you download, you’ll be able to join us while it runs…! ;-)
It WAS a major spyware screw-up site. Being Mac, however, I am indifferent.
But not there for me anymore.

ES – Bass, organ and ‘eating a goddamned ham sandwich at the same time!”
LOL
Looks like the wing nut blogs are running with it. Nothing in the news per a quick google search.
When you post the DIGG link at 120 it linked to a different website than Digg and as CT said it IS a known Spyware site!!
What’s on my mind tonight? Your subject. But as that is not ok with me at the moment, I’m about to pop in a movie, etc, to get it off asap.
Meanwhile, some weekend reading. As it says, we really ought to put up a fuss next week.
Anyone who thinks they can conduct government business using a Yahoo address needs their head examined……what I would normally say that really shows how stupid that person is…… She could of gotten a gmail address which is cooler….
Check out the tunes first!
LOL, I live way out in the boonies… Control comes from common sense or the barrel of a gun.
Though I used to (twenty five years back) work in town in a very old hotel which had numerous bats take up residence in the Summer. So we had to learn to catch them or quit.
The boss refused to let us refund horrified screaming guests have a refund due to bats. that part wasn’t always fun.
You know.. sometimes rock and roll is best served straight up!
Heh, a Dem TN State Rep, I’m sure they’ll still blame the Obama camp…! Btw, did you read my post today?
I thought about your new plan a lot while my power was out last week. I just need one panel and a couple of batteries for the basics. .. a few light bulbs, cell phone, computer, etc. Wouldn’t save my frozen good or run my well, but I could do without those things much easier over a long time if need be.
I remember the critter days on my farmette just south of Portland OR…. it was the skunks that would get under the house crawl space that was the worst….. they would get into a fight with one of the cats and then……
Public Integrity, Redefined
Bush justice….. the Interior dept orgies people are NOT going to be charged but they spend millions to prosecute Democrats ….
I know a Professor Fuss.. it’s his nickname during the tough times.
By all means, let’s fuss.
Opened the page, but I haven’t read it yet.
It must be election time. Al Qaeda has just released a new campaign ad.
The only thing missing is John McCain saying he approved this message.
-G
Congrats FDL on 63,000,000 site visits :)
—–Girl geek squad
You should look into it ES they are a bit pricey but well worth having. Do a little research for your sourcing of the panels as they are all not the same. You also need an inverter to convert the DC to AC for your computer.
There is a big push to get them installed because the solar rebates will expire at the end of the year but I have a feeling that if we do have our Democratic wave those will be extended……
AZ is a very low adoption of Solar power…… it was rip off artists in the 70’s who sold crap goods here that ruined the business here…… even when the power bill for my house in August is usually $300-400
Oh yes, I have friends who live entirely off the grid. Eureka is very green.
Suzanne must be having a night off…. good for her…..
Heading off to bed…. have a nice evening…. Nite everyone…
RoadWarrior Alert:
Suzanne arrived in Boulder Creek this evening, relaxing with Token on her lap (Bailey is indifferent, as cats are, but acknowledged her presence at least) and sticking her tongue out at all the pups!
That is all…
Aloha, Katy!
I bet she’s stoked…! 8-)
ES – great call with Mofro. We can use all the mojo for Florida we can get. I saw those guys perform at the Fez ballroom in PDX about 5 years ago.
This is quirky, but my brother and I used to watch and chat with this flatware musician over a couple of summers at renaissance fair in Waxahachie,TX in the early 80’s. That was before anyone knew who he was (ie Soundgarden). Artis
.
She is. Truthfully she is jonesing to get back here.
FWIW, today I saw (or heard on NPR) reference to a statement by the father. Said he didn’t know anything about it and he personally wasn’t involved.
Also, said he’d talked to his son today, but they’d not discussed it. He had no idea if investigators had contacted the son.
Do they let you talk like that over there, CT? I know they don’t at the treehouse…
Heck, they gave me the keys to the Beach House…! ;-)
I bet, Lurk! I painfully remember my unexpected absences…
I hope neuro isn’t encountering any difficulties…!
CT, I tried earlier today to determine if Lieberman’s amendment made it into the final passage this week. DO you know if it needed it’s own individual vote? If it did, it never made it to that point. If it got bundled into another amendment or the main bill.. I can’t tell.
Check out SolarCity they are the company we are working with ere is a link to their online calculator. You can just plug in your zip code and power usage and they will calculate your possible savings.
http://solarlease.solarcity.co…..mator.aspx
Well that’s an odd way to respond to an inquiry of this nature.
I spoke to Suz about 8 and she was very happy to see her critters, Token was sticking to her like glue!!
I believe it got bundled up… It really is a pointless ‘Sense of the Senate’ resolution, barely worth the paper it’s written on…! It’s another hollow political ploy by HoJo…!
Wow… go Artis!
Yeah, but at the same time.. he’s demanding everyone continue to embrace the big lie. It’s a sickness I tell you.
So, are you saying it is in there? If so, how did you figure it out, por favor?
Indeed it was.
Tough to read the screen shots. Passingly interesting when she mentions LIFE, she does so in all caps. Otherwise uses mixed case.
I’ll check out Thomas.loc… brb…!
Oh no. I already checked it out and searched for Lieberman or 5368. Nada.
It’s S.A. 5368 and Thomas says the GPO hasn’t received it yet… But, there’s two versions of the Bill (S 3001) it’s attached to, all ready and scheduled for a vote soon… Maybe Reid disposed of it…
Heh, you’re all over it too, eh? 8-)
Well, you found more than I did. Thanks for looking. I’m going to try to watch that ’til we know for sure.
re: solar screens. Saw something of concern in contract for them recently. Twenty year contract at a fixed monthly rate. On sale of house, homeowner gets off the hook only if purchaser assumes the contract.
Can’t help but wonder if the deal will look so good to a purchaser down the road, what with evolution in technology, prices, etc.
Hi everyone! Thanks for the songs, ES.
Home from work. Writing music to a University of Alaska Anchorage production of Shakespeare’s “As You Like It.” Opens October 10.
The character of Roselyn, one of Shakespeare’s greatest women, is so opposite of Sarah Palin, one of Karl Rove’s worst.
Pretty cool getting my head out of the Sarahbox….
They can bail out the stupid bastards that helped cause the economic collapse but they can’t figure out how to help a homeowner who’s about to be foreclosed on keep his house. Spit.
It is a 15 year lease, with all repairs covered and a guarantee of the output of the power actually generated by the system. Also you can buy out starting at six years and if you sell the lease and guarantee is fully transferable. At the end of the lease you can keep it going as is, tell them to take it away at their expense or have it upgraded to the latest technology and start a new lease. The best part for me is that I get an upgraded electrical fuse box, a new digital meter(which is monitored remotely by solar City for performance) and my service upgraded to a two hundred amp connection. In my case I get to keep one hundred per month in my pocket!!
evening Margot how are you doing?
Hey Margot.. you are welcome.
ET, glad to hear you are out of the box.
CT, this may be worth watching.
US Special Forces soldier charged with Afghanistan killing
I surmise that that is the reason they’re pursuing the case…!
Not fully out of the box, ES. We have to keep helping drive Palin’s negatives up. At the rate the curve is going, we can be pleased that the truth seems to be gettng out, but we can’t let up.
Much better deal than the one I looked at – no buy out provision at all.
I agree. Any sense on how her new negatives are playing out for the D races in AK?
Ted’s trial begins next week.
I’m trying to get hold of every video I can find of Ted and Sarah smooching in the period btween mid-June and mid-July, when she was chumming him for help during the special session of the Alaska legislature. Ted and Sarah, that’s the ticket for next week.
Along with her husband Too Odd’s claim that he’s a member of the executive branch of our government, and doesn’t have to honor subpoenas.
Czechs and US sign missile defence system agreement
US Secretary of Defence Robert Gates and his Czech counterpart have signed an agreement clearing the way for stationing US forces to operate a missile defence radar in the Czech Republic.

Per Nate Silver’s latest projections at fivethirtyeight.com:
— Obama has a 59% chance of winning Ohio
— Obama has a 98.89% chance of winning the election if he wins Ohio
— Obama has a 33.43% chance of winning the election if he loses Ohio
— Obama has a 71.5% chance of winning the election
— Obama is projected to get 50.1% of the popular vote vs. 48.3% for McCain
— Obama is projected to get 303.1 electoral votes vs. 234.9 for McCain
Will you be attending/blogging the trial?
Heh, Too Odd! 707! You’re doing an awesome job, ET!
Yay. ‘Bout frickin’ time, too.
Hah! Great minds, etc.
It’s in DC, ES!
Hi Nahant, I’m easily distracted as usual, and you?
I’m surprised Florida is still considered pink.. D’s registration is way up in FL.
Oh. heh. I knew that. *blush*
Sigh! Yup. And, that’s such good news.
Always thought I believed a candidate’s religious convictions were not “fair game” but now find myself questioning that re: hers.
Have you done the right wing radio interview yet?
Sorry. Too early to tell on the Dem races. From the first day, I worried about her candidacy screwing up our great candidates’ chances.
My first assessment proved wrong in a few ways, but right in that our Dems have a battle on their hands. I was disappointed from the first at how unable to fight Palin directly the party has been.
one of his nicknames on the north slope.
Seem folks no likey rich wrinkly white guy bailouts. There may be hope for our Republic yet.
Rangel calls Palin ‘disabled’.
There are four not-so-committed states:
— Ohio: 59% for Obama
— Nevada: 52% for Obama
— Florida: 38% for Obama
— Virginia: 55% for Obama
Obama’s grip on three of them is tenuous, while McCain’s grip on FL is somewhat tenuous.
Pot, this is Kettle…
I didn’t know he was in tax trouble.
I can’t help wondering whether the financial crisis might not have occurred in the same way if it hadn’t been so clear that Obama’s going to win.
If i were a gambling man.. I would be checking the odds on FL. Of course, the R cagers will be out in full force there.
IMHO, it couldn’t have come at a better time. This crisis is the ultimate refutation of Reaganomics, i.e., just about everything the Republicans stand for on matters of economics.
Reagan’s battle cry, when he was turning the country into a banana republic, was “unleash the miracle of free enterprise,” which meant getting rid of all regulations on business, all unions, and taxes on the rich.
Yeppers, he had to hire a ‘forensic accountant’(never heard of one before) to go over his past filings… Here’s TPM’s take on it…
Also in Ohio.
Since I’ve been grousing so much re: slow reloads to see new comments, thought I’d say bravo. Tonight it appears new comments are loading before all the other stuff that’s so slow – e.g. blip.tv.
That is music to our ears, Sunny. Thank you for the feedback.
You mean Grit? Lucky you, my net connection speed can’t handle Grit.
Sweetly ironic McNasty has to join in the attack on the administration,
I agree with Sunny! Still none of the old ‘bells and whistles’… tho! ;-)
Me to… I was on one of my servers and lost track of time for a bit… but I AM BACK!
Still no sign of neuro, I hope he had no probs…
No, blip.tv. I actually googled it. Some kind of program related to displaying u tubes, etc.
Since I’m a dial-up dinosaur, I tend to keep an eye on delays when stuff is loading.
Unfortunately, Grit is waaay out of my league.
On tonights Maher, the panel engages Palin.
Why aren’t Democrats as brave Andrew Sullivan? He gets out the big club and smacks the crap out of her.
I cannot believe I said that.
Me too… when out up that link To DIgg I just clicked on it and boy did I get a surprise!! luckily my Zone alarm protection kicked in and I closed that connection real quick, scanned my system but it doesn’t look like it got me!! I also use a tool call Essential NetTools which shows me where each of my open ports are connected to and in what state. I got it from The Zone Alarm site… I like it very much… lots of other tools in the package also.
I watched the Krugman interview, but when Sullivan started bullying Naomi Klein, I came back to my keyboard.
Yep. That was ugly, and he was flat wrong.
DIALUP… GGrroowwwnn… I could not live with that… been spoiled with high speed since 99 at home and at where I used to work well it was greased lightening they had a full T-3 connection with the fiber in the door..
I’ve never had any probs with AVG, and, they scan all links I open, hard to beat the price, either…! ;-)
YEP in SPades he sure pissed me off with his free capitalism bullshit. We need it to be well regulated just the way Franklin Roosevelt made it to protect the country and the people from the unbridled greed of the Uber Rich!
Kevin Phillip on Moyers is doing a great job on the economic woes we’re in…!
But does it have a firewall you can configure?? you should check out the features their Internet Suite has in it. They also seem to update things daily, which is godd because how fast the bad guys keep pumping shit out these days..
His argument boils down to: if you ask a bank to loan you money to buy a home and the bank says yes, you are responsible for the bank’s decision.
He claims that, in an “ownership-society” where everyone is encouraged to shop ’til they drop, and the American dream is within ‘your’ grasp, you should be fucked for saying “OK, count me in.”
Just like the rest of the industrialized world.
Read the rest here
Yep, configurable firewall with a scheduler for updating and scanning… 80 million users can’t be wrong…! ;-)
Nice little fade at the end. Sully sure was worked up. To much espresso before the show? /s
I can recall Mukasey, when asked by Arlen Specter why telecoms shouldn’t be held to account for their actions in a civil matter, that we need to work to “not destroy corporations.”
I think Mukasey has it backwards.
Sounds shady to me but when the mortage guy say “don’t worry it will all work out” you say Hey he IS a professional and he wouldn’t lead me astray… But he was laughing all the way to the bank with his commission after he sold the loan to another bank or two!!
Well, Es you may be long gone, sounds to me like you got”Bats in your Bellfrty”. We has them in our attic at 8,000 feet only camr out at dusk to feed on the flies.
I didn’t see it, but a friend said that Sullivan was trying to blame the whole mess on the borrowers. WTF is wrong with these social conservatives. Haven’t they learned anything.
Is that how many Mac users there are?
P.T.Barnum ethics.
They are worse in town than out in my neck of the woods.
BREAKING. Andrew Sullivan is a dick.
I dropped HBO this summer. Just watched the clip Newtonusr posted above.. it was all about palin.
Did you read Ian’s post earlier this evening? We sure need to get together a plan/list of requests or something.. perhaps in the form of a petition.. before the shock doctors and congress do a lot of quick dirty work in secret next week.
He suggested that home buyers were largely to blame.
If I walk into a bank and walk out with a loan, I would presume that the bank expects to get paid back, and their decision is based on that likelihood.
American Dream my ass.
THis program is for PC, not Mac, correct?
Paul Krugman and Naomi Klein on the same show. Like, wow.
That’s just a coincidence. Some of my best friends are… etc.
I thought Ian’s plan was nothing short of brilliant. And, I agree we should try to get it some publicity, before these BushCo fools give away the farm.
It’s available for mac’s too… The link I posted was for windows! They even have one for Linux users…!
Gonna have to do something about my inner Luddite – find myself yearning for the days of usenet and local bbs.
Probably time to capitulate. Watched McCain u tubes last night. Didn’t realize just _how_ nasty a piece of work he is.
I’m fading fast. G’nite all.
Aloha, wigwam!
I know I know but he sure acted pretty shitty to Naomi on Bill’s show tonight!! He thinks just because he write a column he is Mr know it all about the Chicago school’s failed Science of economics. Blaming the little guy is what the so call conservatives always do!
I am almost as worried about Dems as Republicans.. in re congressional/senate action. As folks discussed in Ian’s thread.. The D’s have no plan and not very many good folks to bargain for one.. Friedman has been the rule for the money people for so long.. I am very worried.
Anyway.. it’s late here.. time to turn in.
G’ nite fabulous firedogs
Is “Nate Silver” the Nate we used to hang with here? The one that left Hawaii to go to work for Charlie Brown in CA-24?
Aloha, ES!
I really dislike him for all of his rotten treatment of the Veterans of this country both the new ones and those of the Vietnam era. I have zero respect for him and the rethuglians for the many things they have done to deny benefits to veterans!! Support the Troops my ass use them and then toss them.
Night ES sleep well
Yep. His votes on this range of issues should he Obama’s wedge to drive McCheese over the edge in the debates. His record is indefensible, and when it has come up, he scurrys for his woodpile. In a debate, he will be trapped if it’s applied carefully.
nite wigwam
Lacking a NewsBox these days, I wanted to just lay this out there.
European Lehman administrators want 8 bln dollars back: report
I thought Obama should’ve taken McSame up on the offer for Townhalls together… Like the Lincoln-Douglas debates… I’m certain the poll numbers wouldn’t be this close if he had!
Maybe this is what you want? Last action on Sept. 18/held at the desk (whatever that means)… http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/…..10:s.03001
That should be interesting to see how it turns out!
404 error, bluebutterfly!
I agree completely, that Obama shouldn’t have allowed the perception that he wouldn’t meet McCheese in front of these forums.
That said:
Who determines the composition of the crowd?
Who determines the dates?
Who determines the format?
My fear is the possibility that Obama has so much trouble in the confrontation format that he wouldn’t match up. Doesn’t bode well for the debates. Obama should wax McCheese, but Hillary cleaned his clock more than once.
nite eureka
Hi all, just got home from a short road trip with the family where I wasn’t able to be “political”. Except to finally enjoy The Daily Show/Colbert on real time TV [hotel]. It was GREAT to see them in action instead of reading transcripts!!!
Stewart took-no-prisoners in his interview with Tony Blair. I had no idea that his transition tactic after hard-hitting questions was an insane laugh.
But what I wanted to mention was coming home to find an announcement from Daniel Ellsburg asking us to support Robert Wexler’s campaign. Seems things are getting strained in his ability to run against 2 opponents, both of whom are using his outspoken courage to impeach/antiwar to try to defeat him. I sent a contribution immediately.
I can’t imagine 2009 without Wexler. Help!!!
Good points, but, the composition could be 50-50 if enough bother to show up for McSame, actually take questions from the crowd, no ringers, with a local news anchor as a moderator of sorts…!
Hey openhope!
Blair had to know what he was walking into. All those “Questions for the Prime Minister” steeled him. But yeah, Jon was not interested in a talking-point-fest.
Wexler needs to turn it up, not down. His courage (of his mouth, anyway) is his strongest attribute, IMO.
I’m suggesting that if McCheese invites, he might be in charge of the format and other details. I don’t know enough about this, but if McCheese does it Chimpy-style, the place would be lousy with Goopers.
Heh, with all the Obama crowds milling about outside…? It’d be amusing watching all the repugs running the ‘gauntlet’ to get inside! ;-)
ok, nite tuttle
nite all
Aloha, newt!
trying again...http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d110:s.03001
Well, I guess I shall call it a nite, too! I bid ya’ll a fond adieu! Aloha Oe!!!
BBC had Naomi watched that was that what you are referring to?
She has clarity and stays on debate the old guys cheated in their argument. She is quite repectful of others. Dhe daid she had a solution to the Mortgage/finance clusterfuck but did not get to bay what. It was all done from the perspective of the investors with no sheild for the buyer of the homes. She said what I have been saying it is the Housing bubble Bushco based his economy on that caused the financial crash.
Then a long productive discussion occured daying we need to get some model legislation up to comgtrss ro nclude the concept offerred u p before the neocons one up us agian. I agree. BMAZ, Ian and Sadles suggested a good economist to write the leg.
Maybe the third time will be the charm…? ;-) Aloha! *poof*
newtonusr et al
Obama will have more than one opportunity to undress McMonger (as in ‘McCain/warmonger’). I bet McCain loses it in at least one debate. There’s some bad blood already from Senate floor back and forth, or something in the past.
also, shouting out to Urban Pirate and ES and all deadheads plus Ed*ard Teller!
newtonusr:
relocated from MA to warmer NC. Left behind operational MessagePad2000 and an eMate. Sad. But, saving for the iPod Touch.
(previously)Blank Kludge
I respectfully disagree. I think McCain looks churlish in his whining that Obama won’t dance to his tune.
Just because some lying asshole invites you out on a date that you know is going to end up in date-rape and you won’t go there, does not make you look weak in the long run.
In the end it may be more statesman-like to refuse the charade.
Obama is driving home a message to the young voters that he ISN’T the same old shit.
The polls are inaccurate and just another roadside attraction designed to be paying jobs for pollsters and pundits. How can you poll on landlines when most young voters are on cell phones?
Night pups!! Sleep well when ya get there (:>))
nice! and sorry about the Newton and eMate. Some history there.
I got a Touch a few months ago – i just love it.
welcome back!
I think McCheese looks churlish, too. And I see the utility and virtue of Obama NOT dancing to his tune.
I’m still worried about Obama’s debate performances from the primary, though. 14 phrases do not a cogent answer make. But if it was the head-fake of all head-fakes, then game on!
As for the cell phones, yeah.
ok, really, nite all
I think that is a very good question. How have primary polls reflected results? That might indicate reliability or not for any given poll.
Night All Was a good bunch of work done here this week, Book Salons tomorrow. Night all.
John Conyers demands immediate halt to Republican vote suppression efforts.
http://www.bradblog.com/?p=6406#more-6406
Well said!!
I agree that Obama is correct in not allowing McShitforbrains the chance to dictate the tone, content and pace of the campaign.
I’m not worried about the debates. McCain is no Hillary Clinton.
Cripes, he can’t string 2 cohesive sentences together. He’s going to get confused, pissed off and obnoxiously arrogant… in between saying “my friends”. A few more “my friends” and the whole frigging country is going to loath this old rich fart.
Good night.
I can’t second guess that. Clearly it was a set-up. Doubt it was just about getting crowds, though that’s a great talking point. The spot he’s in now having to rely on palin for crowds is entertaining – betcha she’s starting to grate. Particularly with her recent Palin-McClain administration comment.
A major con to the townhalls might have been premature disclosure of Obama’s debate strategy.
Gallup explains how they estimate voters. Reliability? Probably heavy on the not really side.

Have pity..my first night of trying to do links courtesy of a lesson from eCAHNOMICS..took awhile just to figure out what highlight meant!
I managed to do a couple of links tonight, but this one has defeated me. Each time that I try, I get dots instead of bdquery. Any idea of what I am doing wrong?
The url is http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/…..0:s.03001:
Huh? When I hit preview, the url came up as a link even though I wasn’t trying to make it one. Here is what is going wrong…after cgi-bin/ there should be bdquery and it won’t appear when I hit preview. HELP!
Bluebuttefly:
link works…is that LOC homepage?
eCAHNONIMCS is a good tutor. I’m pretty sure he led someone else thru the very same ‘linkage’ thing back maybe a year or two back, iirc. Hah! ‘Highlight’ … these days, there seems to be some very basic things I don’t get either. Makes you feel left out, sorta.
——-
dawn approaching
Good morning, pups. Today in the NYT we’re given Collins, Blow and Herbert. Ms. Collins says “The Alpha Dogs Bark:” Bipartisanship! That’s the ticket. In the nation’s history there hasn’t been a political era with so much vitriol mixed with reaching across the aisle in fellowship. Mr. Blow discusses the “Lipstick Bungle,” and says that support for Sarah Palin among Republicans seems just as superficial as she is. When asked why they liked her, the answers described a talk-show host, not a vice president. Mr. Herbert asks “What’s the Rush?” He points out that the United States Supreme Court’s scheduled date to hear Troy Davis’s last-ditch appeal is Sept. 29. That’s six days after the state of Georgia plans to kill him.
http://mgpaquin.wordpress.com/
The coffee and tea are ready, and I’ve got yeast waffles with Vermont maple syrup this morning. I also have some spiced peach sauce that a friend of mine in town made. YUM! Here in this humble abode we’ve just discovered the joys of Netflix. Oh, the things I can watch RIGHT NOW on my computer if I want to… I can see I’m going to have to put some sort of schedule into place or I’ll spend all day checking out British TV that doesn’t make it to Savannah. Have a great day!
OMG! An hour spent trying to get all of the words of the url to work and the link works without? I will not pretend to understand.
I am about as good at figuring out how things work on the computer as Silly Sarah Palin is good at lying…not very good at all.
Without the knowledge of the basics simple instructions from someone are difficult to figure out. Highlight..hmm..that was a challenge. I finally guessed that maybe it was like using a highlighter felt pen.. that I had to cover up the url.
I will take comfort from the fact that the first time I tried to use a computer I was looking for an off/on button. Where there is life, there is hope!
And what rational person would put the button to turn off the computer in the start menu?!
such a nice snugglin’ morning
and waffles with spiced peach sauce! mMmMmM

Morning, people. It’s bright but chilly here in Upstate NY..
I. can. not. believe. I’m. sayin’, this! La collins has now become my first toobz hit of the early hours. She may well tack again in her next column (a la tweety) but, for now, she appears to have a major case of hate for palin to unload. More, please, ma’am. :-)
She’s reverting to the columnist she used to be. Even MoDo has shown sparks of why I used to enjoy reading her way back in the day… Also, it may be an impending sense of doom that they’ll be getting arugula salad instead of BBQ cocktail wienies soon…!
Would that be arugula picked by illegal, undocumented, terrorist, labour?
Certainly. That adds a certain je ne sais quoi and a soupçon of spiciness… (Those new people about to move in speak French, don’t they…)
Yeah, I’ve remembered your evaluation of her in recent days.
Latin, I believe
oui!
(which is about all the French I know)
Cliff Schecter’s up on CSPAN – The Real McCain
Come, Pull Up a Chair…
Good morning everyone!
The Big Debate is next Friday and who wants to bet ole Johnny will answer every question with, “Barack Obama did it! Don’t look at me! I’m innocent!!!!”:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/…..03181.html
I have a feeling Barack has been practicing to dumb down his answers so Johnny can understand what is really being said.
Love Cliff!
O/T. Just tuned in. I just listened to Joe Watkins, a McMouldy shill on MSNBC scream his head off about John McMouldy being a reformer in Washington. YES HE WAS! His reformation of Washington took on the face of deregulation, degregulation and degregulation. Which is why we are in the mess we are today. I haven’t heard Obama or any suggogates saying “yes, John did reform Washington, by deregulation all sane policies that has ever come out of it. Sadly, with a great deal of help from DINO’s. Acutually, I am quite impressed by Contessa Brewer, and surprised that she is doing her job on calling rethugs on this peice of obfuscation.
