There have been serious problems with bats in New England. Large amounts are dying due to some disease or fungus that gives them a white nose.

Saw some footage of bats flopping around in the snow in midday this past winter.

Mother Nature is in distress.

Though I used to (twenty five years back) work in town in a very old hotel which had numerous bats take up residence in the Summer. So we had to learn to catch them or quit.

The boss refused to let us refund horrified screaming guests have a refund due to bats. that part wasn’t always fun.

You should look into it ES they are a bit pricey but well worth having. Do a little research for your sourcing of the panels as they are all not the same. You also need an inverter to convert the DC to AC for your computer.

There is a big push to get them installed because the solar rebates will expire at the end of the year but I have a feeling that if we do have our Democratic wave those will be extended……

AZ is a very low adoption of Solar power…… it was rip off artists in the 70’s who sold crap goods here that ruined the business here…… even when the power bill for my house in August is usually $300-400

re: solar screens. Saw something of concern in contract for them recently. Twenty year contract at a fixed monthly rate. On sale of house, homeowner gets off the hook only if purchaser assumes the contract.

European Lehman administrators want 8 bln dollars back: report

LONDON (AFP) – The administrators to the European arm of Lehman Brothers have demanded the return of eight billion dollars transferred to the bank’s US holding company before its collapse, a report said Saturday.

The Financial Times said administrators PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) made the demand in a letter on Wednesday, three days after the bank folded when the US government refused to give its suitors the guarantees they were seeking.

The newspaper said the demand would be welcomed by Lehman’s 4,500 staff in London because many were angry that the bank’s European operations had no cash in them when the parent company went into bankruptcy.

Tony Lomas, the PwC partner leading the administration, said the fact that more than eight billion dollars (5.5 billion euros) had been transferred to New York in the days preceding the collapse was not suspicious.

But he said he was “not ruling anything out”.

“Clearly the matter requires further inquiry because it is a large sum. But it is simplistic to say eight billion dollars was taken from London and put in New York,” he told the Financial Times.

“The bank that (Lehman Europe) put its money into was the holding company. Clearly eight billion dollars of value has moved from London to New York. It is normal for us to make a claim.”

Hi all, just got home from a short road trip with the family where I wasn’t able to be “political”. Except to finally enjoy The Daily Show/Colbert on real time TV [hotel]. It was GREAT to see them in action instead of reading transcripts!!!

But what I wanted to mention was coming home to find an announcement from Daniel Ellsburg asking us to support Robert Wexler’s campaign. Seems things are getting strained in his ability to run against 2 opponents, both of whom are using his outspoken courage to impeach/antiwar to try to defeat him. I sent a contribution immediately.
I can’t imagine 2009 without Wexler. Help!!!

Just because some lying asshole invites you out on a date that you know is going to end up in date-rape and you won’t go there, does not make you look weak in the long run.
In the end it may be more statesman-like to refuse the charade.
Obama is driving home a message to the young voters that he ISN’T the same old shit.
The polls are inaccurate and just another roadside attraction designed to be paying jobs for pollsters and pundits. How can you poll on landlines when most young voters are on cell phones?

I think that is a very good question. How have primary polls reflected results? That might indicate reliability or not for any given poll.
