Jesus was a Community Organizer - Pontius Pilate was a Governor.

Or for a more recent take on this:

–Dr. King was a community organizer.

–Gov. Wallace stood in the schoolhouse door, and a Democratic president moved his sorry a$$ out of the way!

And we’re the better for it.

One caveat Tula, I am 50 and have never had a passport. I traveled to Canada in high school but never anywhere else out of the country mainly due to lack of money. I think if you check the vast majority of Americans do not hold passports and have never been out of the country. That said, the vast majority of Americans are not running for VP either.

Us too here in Sacramento! There’s a hardcore group of aging hipsters who set up a charitable org called Day Dream Believers and have several fund raisers including the big Thanksgiving RideRaffle/Party benefiting the local homeless groups (and their pets) – especially homeless children. Our bikes are mostly of the pedal variety, but I am sure that you would find kindred souls.
In better times, we were able to donate the bulk of the earnings/scrappings to outsiders including victims of hurricane George and Katrina, but now were focusing on the locals in need.
If you ever find yourself in sunny Sacramento, do drop by the Rubicon Brew pub at 20th and Capital – I’ll shout the first round.
