Joe Biden thinks McSame’s newly-found enthusiasm for regulating the financial industry is total bullshit.
“All of a sudden it’s my goodness there’s greed on Wall Street, my goodness we need common sense regulation,” Biden said.
…
“Look, if John cares so much about this now, where was he a week ago?” Biden asked. “Where was he a month ago? Where was he 5 years ago? I’ll tell you where he was, he was bragging to the folks on Wall Street, to the executives who now he calls ‘greedy.’ He was bragging to them how we’re going to shred the regulation that fetters them, that ties them down.”
Brutal. Just brutal.
Whatever Biden had for breakfast, I hope the campaign has plenty of it in stock.

awesome. go biden!!
Please, sir, can I have some more? (More of this from Biden and Obama, that is).
OUR pitbull. Go, Biden.
I Digg this story. You can, too.
I guess that makes him “McBiotch.”
Hey BT, may I add this link to your story? It’s from a self disclosed fiscal conservative who is tired of being lied to. http://www.dailykos.com/story/…..013/601053
James Taranto, of the Wall Street Journal, is called out for lying about the voting on the Gramm I love deregulation bill. Reid and Biden voted no, and McCain voted YES. Taranto cites the vote on the conference report.
worth a read.
If LS is around, here is a link to a blog where folks are posting info and photos from ike. (incl Bolivar Pen.) it is indeed horrible…worse than we thought)
This is the Joe Biden I saw in Iowa a year ago and signed up to support. He is ferocious, while being genteel, polite, and never personal. He would never talk about Palin’s pregnant daughter, but he will point out every way in which McCain has been wrong for the last two decades. Joe Biden will not be swiftboated. He is tough and he knows how to fight back. Thank God Obama didn’t pick somebody as hesitant to fight as he is.
Another politician in the Biden mold: Claire McCaskill.
I’m still awestruck by Trent Lott’s assertion that the country is in trouble not because of Wall Street but because of all the violence and vulgarity that kids are exposed to these days.
W.T.F???
Someone park him in the corner. It’s fruit cup time.
Rut roh. Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs are tanking today, too. I do believe that makes all five of the major investment banks in the crapper now. Couldn’t have happened to a better industry.
Now, come on…Quit the whining. ;)
sissie ass cheerleader that he is
just saw the heads of both the D and R campaigns’ Communications on MSNBC.
The R said he bet Biden voted along with McCrazy on Gramm’s bill, and the D lady didn’t know enough to call him on it.
(insert obligatory Casey Stengel quote here ________ )
Speaking of whiners, please do read the link I posted above about Mr. Whiners’ Touch, Phil Gramm. Gawd, I can’t stand this guy. Here’s a teaser from the author of the post about the Gramm bill and the WSL lying about the senate votes (do you smell Rupert Murdoch? I knew you could):
I dunno. What would Billo say about fiscal conservatives darksiding to the DKos?
I suggest using the “Spotlight” feature to send this to major reporters around the country. I don’t think the problem has been with Biden; I think the problem has been with the lack of MSM coverage.
Bob in HI
Well Biden ####### DIDn’t vote yes on the Let’s Rape America bill, McCain did. Here’s the REAL roll call.
Sheesh, I’m just a housewife with two kids and I know how to look shit up on a computer.
Thanks. Don’t you love alittle inside attacks with the pot calling the kettle….he did it, no, he did it.
OT: Saw where none of the Democracy Now staff will be charged with a felony, but misdemeanor charges to stand. (This may be old news.)
Sarah Palin, coming soon to a VP debate near you.
Wasilla backwards is All I Saw.
Probably the last words of an infamous local moose hunter.
I would actually almost give her a pass on that one since “common sense” is one of the least common attributes humans have.
Most people would define “common sense” as “anything that is done in the fashion that I would do it.”
A week ago, the topic was lipstick.
I saw Biden in Des Moines last week (and many other times) and he was definitely on the warpath. Don’t let the MSM’s ignoring him while over-covering Palin color your opinion of Biden’s capabilities or toughness. He will and does call it like he sees it in plain language that makes sense and makes it personal to ordinary voters. He’s saying what we want to hear him say, but it’s not getting the coverage it deserves because it’s been overshadowed by lipstick, eonomic woes, etc. At least during the VP debate Biden will be able to demonstrate, WITH media coverage, that Palin is a kindergartener with regards to national governance and foreign affairs. Despite the media’s lack of attention and their lack of respect for his style, Biden knows his stuff VERY well.

Thanks to Republican policy of free market “They play we Pay”
If she gets a pass on that, she and McCain will assume that she gets a pass on everything.
You mean it wasn’t his championing of the “bankruptcy reform” bill that allows lenders to come after you in spite of bankruptcy? You know, that bill that screws the little guy in favor of the same rich guys that are now getting government bailouts by declaring “Bankruptcy! Save us daddy!”?
It wasn’t that?
Sorry, I see Biden as only useful when he is doing something right (rarely). The rest of the time, he is a big part of the problem (bankruptcy bill, PATRIOT act – he was for a version of it long before it was railroaded through Congress after 9/11, more war in Afghanistan, more of the same foreign policy of imperialism).
Sure, I’ll cheer him if he takes a hunk of meat off McCain in an attack but this is a situation where the “good guy” is actually not really a good guy, he is just a LITTLE bit less bad.
Joe – are willing to call out Phil Gramm as the primary actor behind the repeal of Glass Stiegel and the primary agent of the banksters who are wheeling our money out of the “market” by the dumptruck load?

ASK MCCAIN IF HE PLANS TO APPOINT GRAMM TO HEAD THE “NEW 9/11- TYPE FINANCIAL COMMISSION.”
That would be comparable to appointing Cheney to oversee the original 9/11 Commission.
Call Gramm out by name.
Good Afternoon Firedogs,
here is how they voted on Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act
and yes, Clinton signed it.
been away for a few hours, has Hugo Bush nationalized anything today ?
And that’s different how? They already act and respond like she should get a pass on everything.
But since it’s looking like there might just be a Dem in the WH come 1/20/09, the TradMed is brushing the lint out of their scruples and ethics and will actually start reporting again.
Joe Biden must stop calling John McCain by his first name only. He should call him “John McCain” each time he mentions the Republican candidate. People listening need to be constantly reminded of the Republican’s FULL NAME, so they know who not to vote for.
cbl,
if you see LS can you foward this link to her? it is a wonderful blog that is posting photos of the devastation in Galveston (bolivar Pen.)
http://jakeabby.com/cb/
However. Right now I could use some of the Palin pot.

I agree. I find it too clubby.
thanks. saw that on Lindsay’s thread.
waited on a table of evacuees today (including kitteh) from Beaumont. they were so gracious and mindful of how lucky they were to get out and stay out for a week or two.
so mindblowing, a disaster conservatively pegged at $16B, total devastation and hundreds missing still not getting any coverage
Correct: and quit talking about his being honorable, patriotic, having serviced etc etc etc. They seem to feel some deference to preface every attacking. truthful statement. Get them a memo.
Bill Maher was on Rachel Maddow’s show saying how it’s difficult because you “can’t describe her accurately and not sound condescending” and “she’s not bright about the things she should be bright about” when running for VP.
He also stated that Gibson’s bush doctrine question is a “gotcha” question if you are running for Miss America, but when you are running for office and are expecting to know about things like policy, it isn’t. you need to know these things. gah.
Dow down 450….O quit that whining..
It just breaks my heart.
Those Bush tax cuts just keep on working! Cut them more, St McCain!
OWWWWWWWW.
Galveston update – per Houston Chronicle
National Guard says they have evac’d approx. 3500 from the island, and will continue to take them out at 200-300 a day. hope that goes a long way in solving the missing crisis.
There are just homes missing completly
Absolutely heartbreaking devestation in the pictures Lindsay link to. Unbelievable.
I also hope it will hold off some of the ones so eager to return. I understand the anxiety, but these folks have work to do & there are no services.
Geez, Blue Texan, you thought that was brutal. To me it just sounded like typical Joe. This is why I was glad Obama picked him! Glad to hear it!
So, when is Obama/Biden going to start in on how big a mistake it was to ignore the hard lessons of the Crash of 1929 expressed in the Glass-Steagall Act – and call for reinstatement of that very wise, and OBVIOUSLY correct bit of legislation? If that act isn’t reinstated then this shit will just start all over again as soon as the government is done bailing out all the po’ millionaires and billionaires.
OT Some interesting observations from Alaska
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/…..27074.html
It’s brutal for even Joe. In a great way.
The words “bragging” and “shred the regulation” are particularly biting. It just conjurs such a delicious image of McSame surrounded by fat cats, laughing.
So good.
Christy upstairs “I Am A Constitution Voter”
i wonder if they can use RICO act to get some of the funds back
say it loud REPUBLICAN MAFIA
oh nossssssssssssssssss
i finally got out of harms way after 1 too many storms and no electricity for 3 weeks
Agree. And I wish Biden would stop saying he’s his good friend. Save it.
He has to stop ’senate speak’ and switch to ‘VP speak’.

Ms. Perino saying financial news = “mixed picture”.
Tweety just ripped a Repug Congressman for refusing to accept responsibility for the actions of his party.
Just finished giving Biden some rhetorical ammunition. Looks like he had the situation well in hand.
Tweety’s just about as late as McCain, methinks.
And I hope he offers a double helping to Obama.
