I think the National Enquirer, People Magazine and perhaps Vanity Fair should all do heartwrenching articles on the family that McCain has left behind in his mania for gaining the WhiteHouse. I am really sick of seeing Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama side by side with Britney Spears and some rumors of Whatever whenever I pass a newstand. In fact I volunteer to be the first to support a tawdry publication that starts publishing a lot more than half-truths about that gruesome duo McSame and Palin.

What would the corpocrats have to gain from an Obama Prez, possibly 8 years and some Supreme Court justices, and probably the greatest DemocratIC gains in Congress ever?

Yes, I did have that thought as well. I remember when Poppy Bush was all weepy a couple of years ago (he looked like he was depressed for a while there), and his buds like Brent Scowcroft were critical of Shrub, and it seemed like the old guard was pissed.

Thing is, these dudes were not much better. It’s almost like Shrub/Cheney made them look bad since the new guard took everything to extreme levels. Based on their own actions through their entire careers, I simply don’t believe the old guard (”corpocrats”) is all that upset about what has happened. They probably just have bruised egos.

Plus, if McInsane’s campaign implodes now, it’ll hurt the down ticket races across the country. What would the corpocrats have to gain from an Obama Prez, possibly 8 years and some Supreme Court justices, and probably the greatest DemocratIC gains in Congress ever? If they lose big this Nov, there’s a real chance all that the Neocon cabal has developed over decades could unravel completely. I don’t think they’ll go out quietly.

If I can be excused a possibly wild analogy the corpocrats thought that by putting in Bush-Cheyney they were getting Franco or Salazar or Batista, but what they actually got was Kim Jon Il or Pol Pot or ….. They’re probably scared out of their wits this time. They thought they were using the fundies, but now they’ve realized the fundies were using them.

There is a wonderful musical right now at the New York Musical Theatre Festival, called Idaho!. They took more than a little poetic license, for sure but the results are delish!

Don’t buy it. They put Shrubya in there after all. The last 8 years have been so off the charts into crazyland that I don’t think they’re worried about having more nutcases in the White House.

Somehow, this latest coordinated messaging shift must be part of a strategy to win now. They’re close still to win this thing. I just can’t quite put all the pieces together yet.

I agree with you, except that if we can understand why this is happening maybe we can help this along. The challenge for the moment is to try to peel off the corpocrats from the rapturists. Maybe the corpocrats have figured out (1) that McCain’s health problems mean he odds on to die to the next 4 years and that this would put Palin in power, with all that entails.
