These banks aren’t just doing this for altruistic reasons – there is a quid pro quo somewhere, somehow, sometime.

The screens don’t scare me half as much as not knowing what that is.

People and banks all over the world bought our debt now that Lehman is going under that debt has to be sold as Ian pointed out and a value placed on that debt.
American financial companies should tank banks, investment companies, HEDGEFUNDS I don’t know why they are not in the toliet already.
AIG insurance tanking should set off the insurance companies.
The Fed couldn’t get the cash for Lehman, Ford and GM might be in a bit of trouble too if people start thinking that they won’t get a loan.
