We conducted a survey of political blog readers in 2006 and are following that up with a new study this year. So the percentage of people who reach their 72nd birthday and die in the next four years is (1673+1804+1940+2065)/79212, which is 9.5%, or roughly one in ten.

Note however that these data ignore gender and known afflictions.

It would be laughable if it weren’t so serious. Those “ignert” people really should not be allowed to vote. If I were Obama I would be putting ads out that really focus attention on McCrazy’s record. He’s no good for women, he’s no good for children, he’s no good for veterans, and he has exhibited very poor judgement time and time again most recently with his choice in vp candidate. Not to mention he has anger managment issues.

– if he win Ohio, he has a 96.75% chance of winning the election

Right now they show him with a 29% chance of winning Ohio.

In short, the best polling-analysis team on the Internet paints a very bleak picture for Obama, and IMHO for the nation.

The Republicans have a Vince Lombardi attitude toward life: “Winning isn’t everything; winning is the only thing.” The are absolutely focused on winning, and they don’t give a damn whether what they say is true and/or what they do is fair. Fairness and truth are irrelevant notions, except for their propaganda value, as in calling your opponent unfair and/or a liar. The same is true of outrage and indignation. Those are simply propaganda ploys. They’ll deliberately get caught lying and express outrage when someone calls them on it. It’s all tactics and strategy.

Exactly my point. The country is populated (in the majority) by decent people. They don’t always pay as much attention as they should but when presented with irrefutable facts, they will take time to reexamine. Thats all I’m sayin.

Just back from a town hall meeting in Anchorage, hosted by Ed Schultz, the semi-progressive talk show guy. It will air in his monday time slot around the USA.

I’m not a big fan of big Eddie, but I have to say that the 3-hour meeting went off great! If you get a chance to listen Monday, do.

The most important thing about it, was that Ed came here, turned the mikes over to liberal Alaskans for three hours, and pretty much let us let it rip.

I stood in line for 90 minutes, and almost made it to the front. firedoglake contributor Celtic Diva addressed Palin’s charging for rape exams to the rape victims. But almost everyone who spoke had something important to say. That’s how much there is that is important to say about how bad Palin is.

we need an actual definition – at the dept, the rape kit is the box that holds the forensic evidence. was she charging for the actual box? or was she charging for the processing of the evidence in the kit? or was she charging for the rape examination to collect the evidence for the kit? or was she charging the victim for it all?

sounds to me as if that means the victim would be charged for the forensic examination at the hospital for the evidence (swabs, vials, etc).

i do think that it was the city and not the state that was making the victim pay. she quote i remember (can’t remember where but think i linked to it before in the comments) is the chief of police saying they tried to bill the insurance company if the victim has insurance (paraphrased).

Typical cheap-ass nickle-dime approach to government: bill the victim.

It was the city of Wasilla, when Palin was mayor. Correspondence between Palin, as mayor, and the alaska group STAR (standing together against rape), on the issue, will be coming out soon. It will clearly show that Mayor Palin instigated this policy.

Wasilla was the only city in Alaska, or probably north of he Mason-Dixon line, to ever have had a policy like this.
