From Lisbon, Portugal, Terrakota. Guaranteed to make you want to take your shoes off and dance along.
What’s on your mind tonight?
Aloha, ES!
Hey ES!!
es!
Good evening all
Digg It Pups!!
Breaking news on MSNBC. Thousands stranded in Galvaston after faiing to evacuate.
Firedog ET, Managed to get a few of the potentially banned books named tonight.
Nice work, ET.
sweet, thanks es. isn’t it national banned books week?
Left coasters getting 20/20 now but I think I am over my Sarah Palin limit.
Now she’s humbled. What a liar!
And Colbert took the week off. /s
Gee….. If I was Obama I would take Sarah Palin’s advice that Obama picked the wrong VP……. Lets see…… an clueless former beauty queen who …well we all know who she is…… and SHE thinks she can advise someone else……
I love the music you chose, and thanks for the tip about the books.
This woman is a fucking moron.
boy sure can learn things on the local news…… Doctors are using Gila Monster Lizard spit to help diabetics loose weight as it levels their blood sugar ……
Thanks Margot. You know, after all this settles down.. I want to send that librarian a nice card or something. Bless her heart.
Question: what would you do differently on the economy?
Cut taxes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, now that is some neat music indeed, ES! *grooves* I need to find more of that for my radio show i’ve got in the works. ^_^
Yep. And we need to have a close look at the bond measure she cites as the reason for the city’s debt.
*gentle reminder*

I’m a big fan of librarians… They stood up to the FBI too…! ;-)
Show and Tell gone wrong.
Ya know…… after Kerry lost 4 years ago…… I kept saying that maybe that is good…. now BuchCo owns all the bad stuff……. but they don’t…… They did it but no one is willing to call them on it……
So it is 4 years later……. and we still have two wars, an economy more in the toilet…… and a whole bunch of other things falling off cliffs and crashing….. And we could get the old & young clueless twins…….
I few years ago I drove down through old Mexico with some friends. A couple of them got the grip (gripe?).. and after a few days we found a fellow (The iguana man) who made a concoction in part from the Iguana and sold it to treat the gripe.
I don’t know if it helped the gripe, but the facial expressions my friends made when taking that stuff sure made me extra extra happy I didn’t catch it. I have photos of the Iguana Man somewhere.
Nikki never had to deal with RBG, like I had to…! ;-)
I love how the song kicks down at about two mins thirty seconds in.
Mysterious imprints left on windows at night. Is it vandalism, or aliens?
Another Arizonian Republican….. no big deal….. When ya have a Sheriff who has two tanks ….. and nothing surprises me in the Scottsdale school district too….
backstage has referred to it as CTituts
More from that article:
That guy knows how to have a good time!
Hi ES! The second was an exceptioanl music piece. Reggae and very nicely phrased, settling the mood and changing our limbic system to secure relaxed, rich lyrics and instrumentals. You have some really great vibeso match the coming rain drops on you roof. Super talent Terrakota. I’m on seconds.
“From Lisbon, Portugal, Terrakota. Guaranteed to make you want to take your shoes off and dance along.”
ES, Right on dude,
The beauty of music,
I couldn’t understand a fucking word they were saying,
The young lady has a beautiful voice, I got the Ganja and the Reggae.
The left handed guitar player was a nice bit to notice.
You have a very eclectic taste in music. I can totally respect that.
Right on man!
McShame!

Ewwwwwwwwwww!
hannibal, my guess would be it was a republican
that was for hannibal at 30
RBG is a damn nice guy.
Take my word for it, he has been putting up with my ass for years now.
bb, up here less than twenty miles from the southern Missouri border we already have wind and clouds from Ivan.. Expecting a foot or more of rain this weekend and the winds could still be kicking up to 60 mph on Sunday. It’s a monster of a storm!
Variety is the spice of life. *g*
If it was a Republican, he wouldn’t have used lotion or KY. Would’ve been feces at the very least.
Why, I almost feel honored…! 8-P
He sure is……. really nice guy….. It was great meeting you and him and all the other Portland & Seattle pups….
Governor of Logar province in Afghanistan reported killed in a suicide attack.
-G
That would be nice.
The librarians are some of the people standing up for our constitutional rights, against petty but powerful powderbrained bullies like Palin.
RBG stands for?
RBG is RBG….. the big grand pooba of FDL
i dunno and never asked.. i think of it as ‘really big guy’ cause he’s the big boss backstage.
Here in Los Osos librains rule.
Ya have to translate it from Swahili,
It means ,
Don’t Fuck With Me.
Greg, did you see this…?
This is so cool.
The music is rocking me! Yow
Sounds… man woman voices weaving a harmony.
Like the Suptemes sang…”What the world needs now is Love sweet love we don’t need another mountain to climb…”
And at the end of the video the doc is sniffing the camera funny!
I don’t know why Americans wouldn’t just offer Maliki some cash to resign, or else.
Jambo Bwana…Muzuri sana!
We ain’t leaving. Permanent bases. Maliki wants us to go, then we’ll get a new puppet. Wonder if the AP will pick up that story.
Maybe they’ve tried it already…
Speaking about the veracity of the report, it doesn’t surprise me, course it is this Maladministration, but, as I wrote at M&C the Kurds are tops for intel in Iraq…!
Mongolian throat singers in the background.
After watching the Sarah Palin train wreck, I turn on CNN and there’s a real train wreck which apparently a lot worse than initially reported.
I need to shut off teh TeeVee.
The Kurds know everything. I once met an Iranian who went awol after boot camp, during a short break before he was heading to the front lines in the Iran/Iraq war. He paid the Kurds to sneak him into Turkey.
His Father was an Iranian American citizen who had flown helicopters for us in Viet Nam.. So he only had to hang out and part in Istanbul for a few months until a US Senator flew over, picked up a few Iranians and flew them into the US.
Anyway, his story about the whole trip through the mountains with the Kurds is harrowing to put it mildly.
Maybe they are trying to hold it together in Iraq for the election. If Barack gets in maybe all parties can work it out if we call off the dogs.
That would not make BIg Military Industrial future contracts look do good. Lobbist will freak.
The arms industry counts on conflict peace is death to them. That why they hit demonstrators so hard. No more easy money.
CT,
I did see that.
I’d hate to see the life premiums for Maliki or Karzai.
-G
P.S. Obama is pulling out of his SNL appearance. Good. McDishonor would link him to Dan Aykroyd calling Jane Curtain an “ignorant slut” and accuse Obama of misogyny.
Last I heard there was 9 BILLION dollars running around loose over there.
Something tells me he could get a Pastrami sandwich any time he wanted.
nikki, down in la county
*sigh*
well the pain killers are working now so better head off to bed…… Good Nite everyone…..
I was talking with a couple of biker friends tonight, I commented on the amount of lies the McCain campaign was using. Interesting responses:
Mike was very clear that Social Security wouldn’t be there for him if McCain was elected and hence he would be voting for Obama.
The other was concerned about the second amendment and Obama’s statements on gun control.
I’m probably not with most of the people on Firedoglake on gun control. I think the Heller decision was correct and that if we want to be able to restrict who can possess firearms we should amend the Constitution.
I told the friend concerned about gun control that it was unlikely that even the assault weapons ban would be able to be re-enacted, not that it matters in California, although Heller could lead to the California restrictions to be lifted.
anyway that’s a bit of a digression, I ended up finishing the conversation, both friends were clear that things really do need to change, that the country isn’t going the right way.
Is it hypocritical for an competitor to take advantage of “technicalities” in the rules while crusading for their elimination?
Is it hypocritical for a politician to crusade against tax loopholes and yet take advantage of them so long as they still exist?
Is it hypocritical for Palin to (claim to) crusade against pork while lobbying for as much pork for Alaska as possible?
(Her lies about her crusade and about her actual behavior are a separate matter.)
If the answer is “no” to all three, then IMHO we ought not to criticize her for accepting pork, but only for lying about it.
Not to forget Chalabi.. who almost bought the farm a couple of weeks ago.
Sleep well dear.
Night Katy pain free sleep wishes!!
what blues was like on the Riviera in the 70’s.
btw, this was the first musician I ever saw at the old Antone’s on Guadalupe in Austin
g’nite katymine
Mostly single leg takedowns. SOme nice angular momentum and great referee outfits. This is the breeding stock they been eatin good.
A lot of folks around here don’t want to see gun restrictions.. certainly not what we need to fight for now, imo, whether you want them or not.
Hey, how about the Supreme Court? /s
Yep. Particularly fascinated by her brazen dodge when confronted with the list of earmarks she’s sought.
If TeamObama has any backbone at all, she will pay dearly for that double-dealing.
That’s only the $9 Bil unaccounted from the $13 Bil from one single airlift organized by L Paul Bremer early on, there’s boatloads more sloshing around over there…!
sweet ear candy muzzy
the first musicians i ever saw were the beatles at candlestick.
Everything is in place for one thing to trigger a regional meltdown.

Didja see Syria might be bringing in a Russian naval base too…The the US and Israelis really screwed the pooch by investing so much in that neo-con lunatic Saakashvili.
But what if the answer is yes, which IMHO it emphatically is?
Thanks!
I am not done watching it but Me Like.
ok, pups, that’s it for me. g’nite all.
He used to play the oldest bar in North Beach San Francisco, in the 80’s.. place called the Saloon.
Man he would climb off the stage, lay down on the floor and play the heck out of his guitar while we all danced around him.
Aah! So soon, Suz? Aloha!
nite suz
Night Suze.
Did they ever! Sometimes it seems like the whole Georgia affair was really over whether or not to allow Israel access to their airport/airspace if they wanted to attack Iran.
G’ nite Suz
sweet dreams Suz ~
I think that is part of the big dispute within Iraq too. Can’t see Maliki wanting to be compliant with Israeli overflights against Iran.
-G
Well, gonna goe see Joebama tomorrow.
Good to know. The reason I bring it up is that the 2nd amendment is a litmus test for some voters, much like pro/anti choice is. Other friends (dittoheads that did Operation Chaos votes in the Indiana primary) were unenthusiastic about McCain back in May because he wasn’t pro firearms rights enough. Next time I see them I’m sure they will be fired up by Palin.
Goodnight Ms. two ton green blog.
Am I correct that the conflict with Russia started when Saakashvili bombed civilian neighborhoods in South Ossetia, where the majority of the population wants to break away from Gerogia and join Russia? If so, why does almost everyone insist that Russia was the aggressor? (Palin goes so far as to speak of “an unprovoked attack by Russia.”)
If the amount of money per capita acquired by Scary Impalin’ through earmarks as Governator of Alaska were matched for the whole US it would come to $422,302,519,152. Under her admisnistration Alaska got more earmark money per capita than anywhere else in America. She and McCain are lying sacks of shit.
Do you think the answer is “yes” in all three cases?
Heh, I’m actually heartened by Israel/US’s overplaying of their cards in Georgia, they’ve actually weakened their ability to bomb Iran! Primarily, because nobody will allow overflight of their airspace…
Excellent.. be careful, he will talk you into managing a ground game. /s
My 90 was in response to Eureka Springs @ 74.
I also agree that 2nd amendment isn’t a crucial issue right now, the rest of the Constitution needs some TLC, and we’ve got to address systemic problems in the economy, energy policy… I’m going to start phone banking for Obama again on Sunday.
You did see where Iraq is wanting to spend some of that 79 Billion dollars they have sitting around to purchase some of our surplus fighter jets?
Green stamps, anyone?
Absofuckinglutely. You do not take advantage of programs or policies you oppose. Period. Otherwise you are a lying opportunist.
Me too.
I will third that.
Well, Russia likely supported separatists in that region and there does appear to have been some shelling or mortaring and bombings.
But it sure seems that Georgia launched a blitz against Ossetia that was not proportionate.
Then the Russians shoved it up their ass.
But for the US, the narrative is The Big Bad Bear picked on a little guy.
Funny that narrative gets drummed home when it is the US against Iraq, Libya, Grenada…..
-G
Galveston is in the eye
http://radar.weather.gov/ridge…..38;loop=no
Check out this web site… Click on the logo for more things that could be bought with the Iraqi war monies…!
Funny that narrative NEVER gets drummed home…..
Agreed. I’ve never felt threatened over potential gun restrictions (not yet), but I would join the NRA in a nano second if I thought trouble was brewing.
Reducing MIC, and prosecuting and imprisoning police when they do things like no knocks or overly hard knocks to peaceful demonstrators… is what I want to address now.
Nice begginning have a good slumber
Off to bed. Take care and enjoy.
Here comes that storm surge.
Good luck to anyone left behind….They’ll need it.
-G
Will The Wonder Twins, Johnny and Sarah parachute in to save the day this time too?
Night gang.
Hope TexasBetsy and family are safe.
-G
Have you been following the debunking of the clusterbombs that bernhard at Moon of Alabama posted on…! Everybody was accusing the bear, when they were actually Israeli munitions…!
Aloha, Dr. D! And GregB!
And chimpy has never had a clue! The American high command has to be shittin bricks looking for strategicplan that can work or has a chance to be implemented.
While the neighborhood is watchimg with amusement. Pentagon and CENTCOM must really be furious to be put into this position.
Betsy is hunkered down and safe for now along with most of the central Texas pups, most of them all have checked in at the Beach House…!
Muzzy has great taste this is some bad licks and Gatemoth is oh so smooth. Love it when does the bass rif. Thanks for the treat.
Consider a pole vaulter who crusades for a return to wooden poles. Is he a hypocrite if he doesn’t use a wooden pole?
McInsain was on the phone with Mr.Sak o shit in April swearing USA back so “bring it on” We and Isreal had advisors training his troops and what else who knows!
What is on my mind is how stupid people in the country really are. They will purposely vote against their own interest because they believe the lies they hear on teevee. IMO some of them are racist but won’t admit it.
Three
Japan police probe 2 explosions near US Navy base
September 12, 2008 11:36 PM
Some do admit it…
fuck them all, the racists and the fucking idiots.
The press never lets reality stand in the way of a plausible narrative.
In that regard, I was just now reading this by Glennhttp://static1.firedoglake.com/common/images/editor/quote.gif Greenwald:
Ultimately Raum offered this list, which is out and out nonsense.
Ooh the spinters
Kind of reminds me of what George H.W. Bush did to the Shiites after Desert Storm, and people in that region have very long memories.
More simply, I favor an increase in the capital gains tax, but I’m not going to pay a penny more than the law requires.
I have very liberal friends, who pay essentially no tax and do so legally and get audited every year. They think that the tax laws are horribly unfair but feel no guilt taking advantage of the laws as written.
Ooh, some pretty damning quotes… Not! And no, MoDo is not a liberal in my eyes…!
How many allies have we betrayed?
Well, Bill Moyers is on! I shall bid ya’ll a fond adieu! Aloha Oe!!!
Per WaPo:
McCain would include the South Vietnamese.
Her claws are scratchimg Barack and Hillary at once. HRC was said to going after her this week did not hear anything from HRC?
Wow the storm footage on the weather channel is worth checking out now.
Wigwam you say you are conservative? As n Republican? I see you as a Eleanor Roosevelt social democrat…am I missing something? She was a wonder.
Looks like Galveston can get three storm surges. One from the leading edge, the the leading erge of the eye and the back side. Quelle domage!
No way in Hell!
I’m pretty much a big-government liberal in the New Deal tradition. IMHO, free markets do some things very well, but they only one of many mechanisms, with healthcare being my favorite example of a place where they don’t work so all that well.
Good to see ABC publish this story.
‘Against Us’: 7 Years Later U.S. Image Still Toxic
ABC’s Jim Sciutto Looks at Muslim World’s View of the U.S. 7 Years After 9/11
Hell, we’ve
dropped so many bombs and strafed them so many times with helicopter gunships and assailed so many of their weddings and destroyed so much or their infrastructure and ruined what was left of so much or their institutionsspread so much Freedom & Democracy – What’s gotten into them?Yeah.. the fact we an find anyone who likes us is the surprising part.
And now even Petraeus admits Iraq is a no-win proposition:
A politician who still had offices to run for, or influence to ply, would never, ever say what we know to be true.
But when the fucking bribe money runs out, Iraq is going to make Somalia look like Sweden.
i woke to static
tw3k!
How goes?
dunno
Still listening to Terrakota…the marimbas are watery…as BB King says “Slow it down anbd sweeten it up”. The surge cain’t make any dif in the long run. Sooner or later we gotta go then who will be running the show. Turks vs Kurds Sunnis vs. Shites can they learn to live in peace? Who gets the oil? Tune in next chapter…only the shadow knows.
nite all
Evening or top of the mornin to you tw3k hope the storm damage is not as bad as predicted by the politicians in Texas. FEMA should have boots om the ground and big relief money.
McCain:
– “I know how to win wars.”
– “In intend to win in Iraq.”
– “victory in Iraq is finally in sight…”
Petraeus:
– “I Don’t Know That I Will Ever Use The Word ‘Victory’ For Iraq”
Perhaps Senator McCain would be so kind as to show General Petraeus “how to win wars.”
Me as well it has been fun and informative so
Good night ladies
Good night gentlemen

OLD-TIMER/END-TIMER 2008
Yep. Pretty much sums it up!
Good Morning
McShame campaign is playing this sympathy card saying that the reason McShame can’t use the computer is hia war injuries. Sounds like bunk to me. Can he sign his name? Point?
Latest stuff I have read regarding Iraq indicates Kirkuk situation flaring up. Modern science says that the sun could burn out in 4 billion years; that means that if the repubs retain the white house we would have to solve the problems in Iraq in the dark.
Good morning, pups. It’s Collins and Herbert today. Ms. Collins writes about “The Year of the Cloned Candidates,” and says that the presidential candidates running now are not the same ones we started out with. It’s “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” all over again. Mr. Herbert says “She’s Not Ready,” and that with Gov. Sarah Palin, it’s not about agreeing or disagreeing with her on the issues. It is that she doesn’t appear to understand the important issues. He’s right. The Gibson interview was agonizing to watch.
http://mgpaquin.wordpress.com/
The coffee and tea are ready, and I’ve got French toast made from challah with a hint of cinnamon, with Vermont maple syrup. It’s a day full of work and errands for me, alas, so no having fun with y’all. Have a great day.
That’s simply total crap. See here. It’s part and parcel, however, of his “POW, POW, POW” chant.
Good Morning
When it come to McCain, POW stands for Pitful Old Whinner.
Good morning, Foothillsmike (sorry…was in the shower!)! Hope everyone is doing great today. I haven’t heard from “Grant in Houston” from my blog, yet, but something tells me he’s fine. Just without electricity at the moment. Not a bad thing considering how hurricanes are. ;-)
Thanks Marion, The POW crap is part of the victim shit. Whaaaaa poor victims.
Well, I’m off for the day to help a bazillionaire from out of state figure out where to put her two and a half 18-wheeler loads of furniture, dishes, paintings etc! Good gawd. I’m lucky if I can fill a small U-Haul truck with my own furniture. LOL *shaking head*
Have a good day everyone!
*loads of furniture, dishes, paintings etc….IN HER GINORMOUS NEW HOME ON THE COAST OF MAINE.
Again….my existing furniture could fit is the entry way of this home. Oh boy. By the way, this woman Lynn said to me recently about Sarah Palin, “He needs to get her off the ticket! She is a gawd awful woman!”. Loved it. ;-)
Did I not notice, or did the Repubs not exploit Ike as a photo op? Considering it’s hitting Bush’s home state and all.
McShame used the last one to avoid having Bush at the Convention. This time despite it being far worse he is hiding in his Washington estate.
Thanks foothillsmike, I thought maybe because Blowfish McCain was without hurricanes for 5.5 years as a POW, he couldn’t show any concern.
Well, I hope the Obama campaign doesn’t spend the next week arguing about McCain’s finger dexterity rather than who has brought the nation to a disasterous situation and who can hopefully begin to restore it. The McCin campaign will opportunistically jump at any opening, or make openings, to mud wrestle rather than talk about what ought to be the obviously critical issues.
What you are seeing, grasshopper, is the msm spin and factual oblivion machine at work. This is what it does. It is another layer of lie to go on top of lies stretching back past the Spanish American War. There is no issue there that is not touched or distorted by lie. That which is known becomes of dubious value for obtaining bearings in the fogs of disinformation and lies. The pole star is seen only through the shimmering of mirage.
When I follow links off FDL’s front page, I’m starting to see a lot of errors of the form “Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.” Is this an interaction with my various blocking tools? Or is something else going on?
Several of us have seen those recently.
For me, it seemed to correspond to when I upgraded to Firefox 3.0 and usually one or two refreshes of my browser clears up the issue and brings up the correct page.
