All I have to do is know that John POW McCain does NOT support the troops despite his droning about our people in uniform ad nauseum….it gets to the heart of his persona.

Jon Soltz [VoteVets]had an excellent article up yesterday about the many ways McCain has failed to support vets. I hope it gets circulated far & wide within the veterans community. I’ve done my part to send it along.

Are the “Had Enough” commericals from 2006 going to be revived?

And, does anyone know: it sounds like James Taylor singing on the “Don’t Know Much About . . .” Obama commerical that slams McCain. Is it?

GWB and SP … loyalty … desparately need that loyalty. Threatened by competence and someone who puts integrity over loyalty.

John McCain wasted all that time trying to control big money in politics and got slapped down by the courts.

Maybe he would have been better off passing legislation allowing the Federal Trade Commission to fine political campaigns for purveying obvious falsehoods in their advertisements. I’m not talking about claims over which there can be a reasoned dispute. I mean claims that are just obvious lies, about which all reasonable persons would agree as to their plain falsehood.

After all, food and drug companies are not allowed to make false claims on the public airwaves. Isn’t who is president potentially as vital a question for your health as whether Kevin Trudeau can lie to you in his infomercials?
The president of the United States can still start a nuclear war with an ill-considered policy, leaving tens of millions of people dead and threatening all life on earth with a nuclear winter.

That doesn’t deserve the slightest due diligence from our regulatory agencies?

Ironically, McCain, who once tried to reform political campaigns, is now the Kevin Trudeau of political commercials.

Who then finishes her interview with with Rachel thusly, paraphrasing:

“If Obama had called Bill Clinton and made peace earlier, perhaps Hillary would have been Obama’s running mate, and we wouldn’t be talking about Sarah Palin.”

There is a limit to their sanity.

That’s exactly the reason for my use of the word “somewhat.”

IMHO, Andrea might have a valid, but not a good, point.

It could be that if Bill and Barack had made amends sooner Hillary would have been the Dems VP candidate. “IF.” But, if Barak had wanted her as VP, he could have had that without placating Bill; she would have accepted.

Which leaves the question of whether Hillary would have enhanced Barack’s chances of getting elected. Thus far, I’ve not been so all that impressed with Biden — too much praise for McCain and too erudite in discussions of foreign policy.
