There is no shortage of people just making shit up this election season, and to nobody’s surprise, Karl Rove is one of them:
Mr. Obama is already finding it difficult to win over independent women and Hillary Clinton voters.
Got any data for that Karl? Probably not. From the CBS/NYT poll taken Sept. 5-7, post GOP convention (PDF):
There has been an eleven point shift toward Obama among Clinton supporters since before the Democratic convention.
You were saying, Karl?

Jane, your data does not support the narrative.
Therefore, it is irrelevant.

When kkkarl talks out of his ass it must be really stinky.
Imagine actually looking at the evidence. How radical is that?
OT
Gov. Palin’s interview is done.
Some talk of war with Russia, the headline says.
Since I have a weak stomach, I’m relying on what you all hear
Karl Rove LIES. That is all he knows how to do. Unfortunately, combined with the power of AM radio and all the Fox affiliates around the country more than happy to repeat these lies, half of the country believes him.
What can we do to expose them for the hypocritical lying liars they are? I don’t think Keith and Rachel on our side is enough.
Mr. Rove is finding it difficult to tell the truth.
Back on Topic:
Heard on Tom Hartmann that voter caging is rampant in Wis, Ohio, Penn and Florida, and then the news about Michigan
See, if the polls show a close race, the easier it is for Republicans to steal it….
just caught this over at Big Orange:
Palin:
Among all voters:
39% very favorable
17% somewhat favorable
14% somewhat unfavorable
26% very unfavorable
Gee, approval ratings are just a few points off of 60% for the “wildly popular governor.” But, let’s look a little closer at those numbers. Conservatives love her, but what about moderates? Those numbers paint a different picture:
Moderates
20% very favorable
15% somewhat favorable
26% somewhat unfavorable
35% very unfavorable
3% not sure
Only 35% of moderates view her favorably. In other words, among this key block of voters, Pinocchio Palin is doing about as well as President Bush. For comparison purposes, Joe Biden is viewed favorably by 70% of moderates.
and this is Rasmussen fer chrissakes !
gee Karl, no AP classes for you this semester :D
That’s certainly true. How many people watch MSNBC? If the big names in the Democratic Party start speaking regularly and loudly, they will be noticed and covered by the MSM. I cannot understand why they are holding back.
saw something on my way out the door this morning – Republics are going through foreclosure lists in selected neighborhoods
interesting. I was wondering if it would be accurate to say with the poll data announcing this week re Obama/McCain running so close, can we say “Obama is doing well among republics”?
I say that too and think it’s despicable. It might even be illegal, but don’t let THAT stop you GOP!
That’s why it’s so important to get the word out to register and possibly re-register if you have moved.
And to VERIFY your voter status before mid October.
AND to make a stink if someone denies you your right to vote.
Jane,
Sure you can cherry pick polls here and there, but Karl has The Math.
Sincerely,
BT
I heard about that too.
Bradblog has lots of info. too.
How can we get the MSM to pay attention to this???
I hope people are aware and watching the caging operation that has just started by McCain’s “Campaign to Nowhere” in Wisconsin, Florida, Pennsylvania and Michigan. There goal is the disenfranchisement of hundreds of thousands, if not millions of voters.
remedial math
It would be fun to get Julie Brown to say a few words about ‘Myth America’

And of course, the Ds don’t understand what a powerhouse story this would be against the Rs if the Ds shouted it from the rooftops. Instead we lefty blogs will be talking to each other about it and cring in our beer.
The thing about MSNBC is that they’re sort of preaching to the choir….
But, I have been hearing a lot more negative news/feelings about Gov. Palin lately. I hope that trend continues!
No wonder I thought that name (Sarah Palin) sounded so familiar, the Roseanne show!!!

The Dems need to appoint one of their own to be the “Karl Muzzle.” By that I mean someone with Dem credentials AND nothing to lose who can and is dedicated to red-herring Karl and frame him as the toad he is.
The question is WHO?
Stephen Colbert would be perfect and would also be funny.

Send in the Big Dawg. He’ll chew Rove into Kibbles!
I voted for HRC in the primary. I will vote for Barack Obama for president and I am a fifty six year old white male. So there Karl Rove.
Because they cannot run on their record, the GOP minions have nothing left except make up lies about Obama to bring him down and distract from talking about the issues. Things don’t look good for them and they know it, so if they repeat the same lies over and over like they have done in the last two elections, it may have some effect for them.
Did you say remedial meth
BBC has a segment of the Gibson Palin interview:
Gibson: Are you prepared not just to be VP but Pres.?
Palin: I’ll be ready.
I can’t think of a dumber question. I think that this interview is going to be just as bad as everyone thinks it will be. Palin will spout the answers she has been fed. She is a nutcase but they will make her look reasonable.
Pamela Anderson regarding Sarah Palin, “I can’t stand her, she can suck it.”

Because They Can

They never quit:
Mississippi’s governor, Haley Barbour, and its secretary of state have come up with a particularly cynical dirty trick for the November election. Let’s call it: “Where’s the Senate race?”
Defying state law, they have decided to hide a hard-fought race for the United States Senate at the bottom of the ballot, where they clearly are hoping some voters will overlook it. Their proposed design is not only illegal. It shows a deep contempt for Mississippi’s voters.
Republicans have long had a lock on the state’s two Senate seats. But this year, former Gov. Ronnie Musgrove, a Democrat, has been running close to Senator Roger Wicker, a Republican, in the polls. Mr. Wicker was appointed to the seat by Governor Barbour in late December after Trent Lott stepped down.
Mississippi election law clearly states that federal elections must go at the top of ballots. And the secretary of state, Delbert Hosemann, plans to list the state’s other Senate race — incumbent Thad Cochran is running far ahead of his Democratic challenger, Erik Fleming — where it belongs, right below the presidential contest.
But Mr. Hosemann argues that because the Wicker-Musgrove race is a special election to fill the remainder of Mr. Lott’s term, he is free to place it at the bottom, below state and county races.
Mr. Hosemann is insisting on that placement even after the state attorney general’s office notified him that his ballot design violates state law.
This is flat out vote suppression and they aren’t even trying to hide it. In fact, they’re proud of it…

as for making a stink if you can’t vote, yeah [edited by moderator to remove advocacy of violence].
@DefendOurConstitution: Hee! He does that a lot, true.
@dosido: Wow, I hadn’t seen that. Thank you. Hannity what a tool, saying the economy is peaches and cream? Glurp.
Charlie Gibson is a cretin and a stooge, who knew?
She said it might be necessary to go to war with Russia if they invade any more former Soviet republics.
And if need be we chuckin.
Cost of livin’ gets so high,
Rich and poor they start to cry:
Now the weak must get strong;
They say, “Oh, what a tribulation!”
Them belly full, but we hungry;
A hungry mob is a angry mob.
A rain a-fall, but the dirt it tough;
A pot a-yook, but d’ food* no ‘nough.
We’re gonna chuck to Jah music – chuckin’;
We’re chuckin’ to Jah music – we’re chuckin’.
Next he’ll deny his hand in the vicious turn of the McPOW campaign…after all that would be unethical for a Faux staffer wouldn’t it?
The other thing that all the Dem Talking Hairpieces need to do while they “honor McCain’s service” is if they feel they MUST do that kow-tow, they should add a piece:
“While I honor John McCain’s heroism of FORTY YEARS AGO, todays issue requires x …”
Speaking of GOP pundits, if anyone here has a connection to Rachel Maddow, PLEASE call her and tell her to keep Pat Buchanan off her show. He is ruining her show! Surely there is no shortage of other GOP water carriers that could take Pat’s place. I am so sick of him on every MSNBC show, I find myself switching more and more to CNN or not watching at all.
She was for the most part not likely fed answers, she was fed a template to use. Yes there are some “answers” in there.
1. ignore the question
2. give unrelated answer that is message of the day
3. include attack on the “Democrat party”/media/or Liberals
4. Bonus points for smiling all the while
5. Oh, and sprinkle in code-words
Anyone see Colbert repeat the segment on that ignoramus from Georgia or somewhere – the congressman that introduced no bills, could not think of a better spot for the 10 commandmants than Senate/Court (umm the answer is a church), and then could only name 2 commandments (and got one wrong – Thou shalt not lie…freudean slip much).
Christ almighty who tells him how to vote in the morning.

I forgot to say, this is the guy that called Obama “uppity” N*.
What next is he The Jefferson’s. God the bile.
sorry – tried to get you some Republics numbers and got kicked off the damn internets -
in general what I’ve been reading from the wonker types in Left Blogistan – all of the national polls are skewed or have faults – so guess you can just pick one
did see a note over at HuffPo – basically saying NONE of the current polling reflects the herculean registration efforts by Dems in July/August :D
actually, if you read what’s over at ABC now – he left no wiggle room in her answers about God’s will and other facets of her religious beliefs
but yeah, I’ll believe it when I see it
Jane’s post about Obama/Big Dog love fest today included a note that BO did not do the usual post-primary bygones bit – am now wondering if Obama/Axelrod have been so intent on keeping the usual suspects out, have they pissed other establishment types off as well ?
of course, that wouldn’t explain Daschcle’s influence
You refer to Congressman Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA), the guy who said there was nothing racially derogatory about him calling Barack Obama “uppity.”
Did I hear on Thom Hartmann that we need to have a ratio of 5 to 1 newly registered Democrats, to overcome the cheating in those vulnerable areas?
If you need some optimistic news, a psychic I am very confident in said that Barack Obama will win the election….but, she didn’t say whether or not that the other side will then steal it :(
And I forgot to ask
I write to her every day about Pat Buchanan at rachel@msnbc.com.
I encourage everyone to do the same.
Great post, Jane — nice to know you have The Math
Looking at some numbers, polling, etc., in this race, I sometimes feel like our electorate is like a pod of whales trying to beach themselves. Nobody can understand why.
I don’t know – I think she keeps Pat around for comic relief, knowing that she can abuse him, use him as a foil, and since she’s the host, can get the last word in and smack him down.

In my view, Rove is a scumbag.
I think Pat can’t believe he’s sharing a table with and actually having to speak with, a lesbian. Maybe I’m, reading too much into it. He just doesn’t look comfortable. Maybe it’s just gas. Have to get a Bill O’Reiley body language expert on it.
