The blog “Moon of Alabama” has a list of books she tried to ban from the Wasilla public library. I’m not posting it because you might want to check the source, but it’s pathetic. “To Kill a Mockingbird”? Gimmeabreak.
Christ. I’m beginning to wonder. Maybe she was thoroughly vetted and when they found out she had all these scandals and weirdness about her, they picked her just to be a distraction. OK. I didn’t wonder that.
About that bridge to nowhere and her “redirecting” the money…. Dodn’t Congress un-earmark that money after it became an embarrasment before she became governor and just give her money for more general transportation stuff?
Morning pups. Never a silver lining without its cloud. Ms Palin provided the Convention bounce, but it looks like the ball is going out of play.
Morning BT, On KO Obama refused to use the lie word about McShame/Palin but saw a new ad out which does so.
I’d be leary of that list. Everything I read suggests that it never got to the point where she submitted her list. Too bad, really.
I believe that to be correct but the road from the town to the bridge was separate and not unearmarked so she built the road. Might be good for a drag strip I guess.
Really gotta stay focused on McCain. Somebody had a good post yeasterday about McCain hiding behind Palin’s skirt. When the top of the ticket is taking second seat to a hockey mom, he’s a pretty shitty top of the ticket.
I like someone’s suggestion to use ‘Reckless disregard for the truth”. Everyone keeps their dignity and it’s a powerful message.
The Post article states the SHE was required to attend ‘community events’. Put on by ‘community organizers’ I presume.
Doesn’t that fit all the Rethugs? When confronted with facts the ones I know start blubbering and sputtering. When brains were being handed out they thought somebody said trains and they missed theirs.
Jesus was a community organizer.
Pontius Pilate was a governor.
I agree and I think it was Kerry that said you have every right to your beliefs but you don’t have a right to your own facts.
Maybe it was KO that said that
If (McStupid is Target) the BTN money was kept (McCreepy is target) does anyone suspect (McLobby is target) the $1200.00 or so kind Sarah returned to Alaskans (McBush is target) could be the same $$?
That is a GREAT bumpersticker…excellent!
EPU’d from Swim
The Queen of Mean hates cats? Why doesn’t that surprise me? I got somethin’ for ya, Sarah. The perfect companion for a small room.
Good Morning everyone!
This op-ed from Bob Hebert is inspiring. I have had enough of major Democrats run away from successful programs and what they stand for and cower to the Republican wackos. This does a wonderful job encapsulating that feeling.
Actually epu’d from Attaturk. It’s early. Gimme a break.
What a Rational Idea …
If you like the last eight years, vote for McCain.
If you want change from the last 8 years, vote for Obama.
This statement of choices is being very kind to McCain.
In fact, it won’t be THE SAME as the last eight years, it will likely be far, far worse.
Bush came in with a surplus and some economic grown-ups like Paul O’Neil.
McCain, if selected, will come in with massive deficits, and a bunch of loonies like economic loony Phil Gramm, and Secretary of God’s Wrath in the Middle East, Joe Lieberman.
America would have to be extraordinarily lucky to stay as bad as Bush left the U.S.
So Raven, d’ya s’pose Imus cut off Sally Quinn this morning because he was runnin’ late…or he and the WABC powers-that-be didn’t want to hear what she had to say.
Like “Christians” commenting at her Newsweek website were a bunch of angry potty mouths and McCain’s choice [or whoever made it for him] is cynical and brilliant….
Guest on dn says that list of banned books is apocryphal.
It’s time to remind America that McCain wants to privatize Social Security – to outsource Social Security to Wall Street and to Hedge Fund managers.
Obama needs to go on the attack, instead of doing a rope-a-dope on everything thrown at him.
Obama is letting the Republican attack machine steer the debate.
ENOUGH !!!!

Good. She’ll be around. We need Barack down here. Alot. This is up for grabs.
This is the beginning of the Rs fear tactics for 08 election.

Big thunderstorm just started in mid-Hudson. Lights flickering. Hope electricity doesn’t get knocked out.
She was at a fundraiser in Tampa yesterday, 1000 strong. And loud.
Nice headline there.
“American Face”? What the hell does that mean?!?! Stoking the racial divide as well, huh? I wonder which Presidential candidate has a more “American face” according to many of the voters?
Yep. Many dog whistles in that story. And the “American” face seems to be a white European, according to the body of the story.
Oil headed to $100/bbl. I haven’t signed onto my heating contract for this winter yet. *g*
Leave it to General Electric’s toadies to equate an “ethnic German” (whatever that is) with “an American face.” M$NBC investigative reporter, my ass. This clown couldn’t find his ass with both hands.
Should we dust off some of the oldies, e.g. kraut, hun, bosche/boche, etc.? One can never have enough disparaging terms. ;-)
Playin’ to an empty house this mornin’.
Off to swim in the great capitalist cesspool while Sarah dives for nutrients.
Be good to yourselves, and all other living things.
Namaste
Not only is Bush contemptious of the constitution but has also been undermining the military.

Speaking of asses, Bloomberg reviewer wonders how W could have acted presidential with Woodward’s lips attaced to his backside.

Don’t know about Imus, but Ingraham was all over her yesterday about comments about the time it takes to care for a special needs child, blah, blah, blah, her usual contempt about everything and mocking Sally.
I noticed the writer, and I use the term loosely, never bothered to broach the subject of why German citizens would want to kill Americans. JHFC, not only to we have to fight the Rethugs, we have to fight their media toadies.
The local CBS affiliate won’t broadcast the men’s final of the US Open this evening, opting to air the season’s first show of Dr Phil, the local crapola for news and something else. The local rag said they were surprised at the huge negative response from tennis fans. Imagine that. All about the viewers/money numbers.
Great. we need her and Barack. which way you think FL is gonna go? Too close to call now? You’re not affected by Ike at all are you?
Verizon FIOS cable in Arlington Virginia BLOCKED out Countdown and The Rachel Maddow Show last night.
Morning Joe, MSNBC, is on FIOS this AM.
Verizon censorship … and some in the US call it a crime when China does it, but not when Verizon does it.
Propaganda WORKS!
I don’t know. The turnout for the primary couple weeks ago was pitiful, but that’s always been the case. Guess my expectations got the best of me. I think the youth vote is going to tell the tale, particularly in the Miami area, where the influence of the old Moustache Pete’s is on the wane. The young folks don’t know who Batista was, much less have any memories of Cuba. Too early to tell where Ike’s gonna go.
There is not much love for official America from my experience here in Europe. Most still distinguish between American government and American citizen. I would not take that as license for a citizen to be promoting official government propaganda, the distinction will vanish most rapidly. They still recall the ugly american here, quite well and the toleration for that character is shallow at best. Not having been in Germany, I suspect this would hold true there as well.
don’t know either. i think you’re right about the youth vote. i don’t think the general will be anything like the primary turnout which was awful. i justy hope the tuirnout boost isn’t mostly the jesus freaks who come out to vote to ban gay marriage – again (it’s already illegal but the “need” it in the constitution.)
What’s all the hubbub over this Palin “experience” thing. I mean, c’mon, look how well the last so-called “inexperienced” governor we elected president has done.
Some of the things on the list that is floating around were published AFTER Palin attempted to dismiss the librarian. By posting this list (which is simply a compilation of the American Library Assn.s list of books that a censorious public around the country has tried to ban) it simply makes it appear that Palin is being “falsely charged”.
In fact the McCain campaign are already doing that. Either the persons who posted this list are fools…or Rovian tools. Remember that Karl Rove is a master of leaking unattributed false or semi-false attacks on his own candidate…and then knocking it down. That then results in the REAL evidence being discredited..as well as allowing the campaign to attack the media or the disseminators as liars.
Wait until the librarian, or those involved in the effort to save her job from “Censorial Sarah”, speak up. They will likely know what specific books or recall examples (some that may not have even been in the library) that Palin used in her arguments.
I hope that the librarian can recall the specific books that Palin mentioned to her.
