A nice quote from the AIP founder that should be brought up as ofter as Wright was (and whenever he is):

“The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government. … And I won’t be buried under their damn flag.” — Joe Volger

He also called upon members to “infiltrate” the major parties

http://www.latimes.com/news/op.....222.column

I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one starting to feel a little nervous. I keep telling myself that we still have time to consolidate messages, and all get on the same stride - not just the talking heads and surrogates, but prog-blogs and the like.

Which strategy is the best, though? Do we ignore Palin, or calmly point out all of her political faults? Let female surrogates trash her, and thus ‘not seem sexist’, or continue to hammer away at the top of the ticket, while all the MSM quacks gush over Barracuda Sarah, ignoring the lies and hypocracy?

I don’t know the answers; this is why I’m not a pundit or campaign advisor. All I can do is watch the news and the blogs scatter, running willy nilly around waving banners of truth and fiction alike, and wondering if we can all get it together in time. Obama isn’t everything we might have hoped for, but he’s far, far better than the alternative.

Did anyone else get an emailed list of books Palin wanted banned? According to the list she wanted Atwood’s Handmaid’s Tail banned, along with Bridge to Terabithia (a popular book for book banners), Harry Potter and numerous classics. If this is true, I feel inclined to call Palin, OfMcInsane.

Librarians for <strike>bookburning</strike> Sarah Palin. NOT. via Time

Stein says that as mayor, Palin continued to inject religious beliefs into her policy at times. “She asked the library how she could go about banning books,” he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. “The librarian was aghast.” That woman, Mary Ellen Baker, couldn’t be reached for comment, but news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire Baker for not giving “full support” to the mayor.

This is way EPU’d also, but I just have to say this to somebody. You guys are it. We (most of the people who post here)and the people who bumped up that ridiculous pole just recently are. not. living. on. the. same. planet.

I would shout that, but I’m getting hoarse from doing that already too much.

Furthermore, it would serve them right if McCain won (God forbid), as they would then get most exactly what they deserve and have been asking for. There are unfortunate obvious consequences in that, as then we (most of the people who post here, and other innocents) would then have to share time served.

Why would the GOP Party and Senator McCain nominiate someone for Vice President who once belonged or had affiliations with a group who wants to secede from the United States and whose motto is put Alaskan First! The Alaskan Independence Party (AIP)! And what does that tell you about the Republican Party that Sarah Palin, a heartbeat away from the Presidency believes in her heart, Put Alaska First?

Sarah Palin who could possibly be our next Vice Presient and/or President has a long time affiliation with the AIP , group which wants to separate from the United States, whose motto is Alaska First—Alaska Always.” Sarah Palin’s husband also has a long-time mebership with this group, the Alaskan Independence Party. Officially, the AIP is a political party which advocates, in part, becoming a separate nation or commonwealth state… The party has appeared on the ballot in Alaska in all state elections since 1970. At other times, party members have also proposed that the state explore the possibility of joining Canada.

Here is a Link to Sarah Palin addressing the Alaska Independence Party in 2007 wherein she tells them “Your party plays an important role in our state’s politics … keep up the good work, and God bless you.”

I wonder what kind of leader someone like this would make
I doubt “Sarah Barracuda” just sat back and watched her kids games .

Maybe this is the video we’re looking for. Meanwhile, Mr. Sunshine is regaling me with all the hockey mom jokes he’s heard over the years. Yes, they do involve hockey pucks and hockey pads. And yes, I know this is epu-ed :(

{{{{{noonan}}}}}

The problem I think is that he’s saying that he might extend the BushCo tax cuts on the upper levels.

As if that would help the economy or anyone other than the top 1%-2%, in other words, folks who don’t need the help.

You know, I do not know anyone who thinks of Obama, or calls him, Holiness, Messiah, Anointed….what’s your point? If, unlikely, you are intending to note that you are truly impressed, a less snarky word would be nice.
