Didn’t stick around for Friedman. Who cares what Friedmans thinks about anything? He’s been so very wrong in the past yet the media thinks he is a sage.

That’s why I thought I was in some Alternate Universe. Tommy’s (in my estimation valid) point was that the US should get ahead of the curve in what he called ET or energy technology, which he considered the NEXT industrial revolution. He actually made a sensible analogy, comparing the Repulsican “drill here, drill now” answer to the energy crisis to someone who during the IT revolution insisting “IBM™ Selectic™ here, IBM™ Selectric™ now” or something similar.

Watched a bit of Brokaw’s interview of Joe Biden. What struck me was that there is another area where the U.S. needs real change. It’s time for the ususal subjects in the complicit media to go. Brokaw is nothing more than a priviledged rich celebrity posing as a “journalist.” The networks need new faces that are willing to ask new and relavent questions that affect the lives of average Americans. Didn’t stick around for Friedman. Who cares what Friedmans thinks about anything? He’s been so very wrong in the past yet the media thinks he is a sage.

What a morning in the soon to be Great White North. I had to get up at 5:00AM to witness “I’m slimmed down for the election” Stephen Harper visit the Governor General and then come out to explain why he already wanted to break his own shiny new law mandating fixed elections. BTW, this also cancels THREE bye elections (to fill empty seats in Parliament)originally set/called by SteveBoy hisself, which campaigns were over today as the voters were going to the polls tomorrow.

Americans would be amazed to realize that our election was only called a couple hours ago, but will be all over before they even go to the polls. Personally, I prefer this to the current 24/7 Four Year Permanent Campaign that the American process has evolved (oops, bad word - don’t shoot me, Sarah) into. Of course we have to get it over with while we can still get to the polls without perishing in the snow or getting eaten by polar bears. (Or did Sarah Shooter get rid of all of them already?)

Then after watching Joe Biden be hectored for 35 minutes by Broken Record Brokaw and in my view conduct himself amazingly well, I see and hear Tommy “the Fried Brain that loves to drive an analogy into the Ground” Friedman actually make sense, discussing his new book Hot, Flat and Bothered.

I think I’ll go back to bed and maybe the next time I wake up I’ll be back on the same planet I was on yesterday.

It was very telling when Rick Davis, the McCain campaign manager, told Chris Matthews that Sarah Palin wouldn’t be talking to the press until “they show her some respect and DEFERENCE”.

Frankly, I don’t want the press to show deference to any candidate.
